I've been wanting to try Chagee tea house for a while so decided to visit this location on 2nd street in Long Beach. Definitely worth it. I tried their peach latte tea over ice. It was delicious, very fragrant and tasty. I wish they had more dairy options other than whole milk. Would prefer a fat free or 2%. They did have oat milk for nondairy option. This location is beautiful! Was able to find ample street parking in the neighborhood on a weekday afternoon. There was no wait. There is plenty of small seating and the inside/outside set up lifts up the mood (large windows out onto the street). Although there are plenty of nooks, every table was taken by someone so you have to be lucky to grab a workspace. Staff were really friendly. I signed up for the app and saw they have 10% off Wednesdays for members. I'm a fan of the roasted oolong, and my friends are huge fans of the Ceylon. Feels great to come here :) read more

Chargee has a minimal menu with traditionally brewed tea and extracted (using an espresso machine) tea. I tried an oolong latte, which was good but didn't blow me away. They've created a bright comfortable interior for hanging out, but don't offer dine in cups for tea. I'd much rather be able to drink my tea there in ceramic or glass cups rather than the to-go containers they offer. A modern teahouse has hit the Shore and I'm here for it. It's crazy that this space was previously Dave's Hot Chicken. The layout has been completely transformed decked with plants and wood paneling. It's grand opening weekend so staff was really nice from the worker offering samples out front to the order taker behind the register. Menu items are currently limited. I found that out when I got the app and a particular drink was highlighted which they did not have. I just went with a hot roasted black milk tea latte. It was the temperature that I had to wait to cool down. Sweetness is adjustable. No charge for oat milk which is a plus in my book. I liked that the label on your drink tells you calories, caffeine, protein, and sodium. So awesome that when the line gets long, an employee will be with iPad in line to take your order. Came here on opening weekend and there wasn't a huge line in the evening! You'll need to find street parking since there is no parking lot for tos location. There were lots of people enjoying their drinks in the store. A great place to do some work or catch up with friends! Table and lower counter seating are available throughout the store. All their drinks do not fall on the sweet side which is perfect for tea lovers. The menu was smaller than other locations at the time, but it might be due to the grand opening. Both the Roasted Black Tea Latte and Boya Jasmine Green Tea Latte have a strong tea taste. Make sure to mix the dairy portion with the tea or else it won't have the intended latte taste. I preferred the jasmine green tea latte due to its lighter floral flavor profile. The roasted black tea latte has an earthier flavor profile. Balance and tea brew is top notch. They do have weird flat straws made of three very small coffee stirrer sized straws. I do appreciate that it allows you to truly savor the drink but it's awkward for sure. Not a fan that you cannot really adjust ice levels. You can get a hot drink or cold, nothing in-between. The only downside was that they weren't able to adjust the ice level. I prefer less ice, so that was a bit unfortunate. Still, the drink was flavorful and enjoyable regardless. My sister told me about the grand opening and that the first 250 guests would receive a plushie and a Chagee tumbler -- you already know we had to be there. We got in line at 7:30am and I was already around the 100th person by the time stamps were handed out at 8:40am. The dedication was real. The ambiance was great -- lively, exciting, and definitely grand-opening energy. That said, the tea drinks were a bit watered down. My sister mentioned that normally their drinks have a much stronger tea flavor, so I'm hoping it was just due to the high volume and rush of the event. Located off E 2nd St in Long Beach. Street parking available but can get tough since the area is congested and lots of eating places, bars and stores in the area. Metered parking as well. Luckily I got a spot right across the street and meter parking was free after 7pm till 10am I believe not sure on the weekends. This place is nice has a few tables and seats. I got the iced Peach Oolong tea latte less sweet it was good. The gal who took my order was helpful and was patient while I was logging into the app so she can scan my QR code. Ugh sooo good! The service is super friendly, and there's some samples at the front door. I also like that their cups have the caffeine information printed, and no upcharge for oat milk! One small point - I ordered the amber oolong and my friend ordered the roasted oolong, but it maybe tasted like they mixed up the teas in our orders? No boba, no anything, just tea and milk....parking are meters parkings (street, parking lot) or neighborhood parking. Nice and easy going service. Clean and well light decor with good chill vibe. It's an upscale tea brand, quality of the teas are generally good, and the branding also feels premium. Price of the drinks are about $7, but they are a little larger than an average milk tea. For my hot milk tea, it was a little too milk forward for my tastes and I should have had them make it stronger for me; however, I had limited time on my parking meter, which is the drawback to this area. I'm generally a fan as I've sought out their tea at their century city and Torrance locations. Glad I can get good tea here in Belmont Shore. Great addition to the area. This spot is so perfect for a hot summer day when you need something refreshing! Each cup goes for about $7-8 but it's a lot of tea that you're getting. There's plenty of seating so if you need a third space to study or work, this would be perfect. It's not the most quiet though, and the ambiance is definitely casual with a lot of people sitting and talking. The drinks are on the sweet side. The less sweet option kinda tastes like the normal sweet option for a lot of drink establishments. And unlike other tea spots, they don't offer any toppings (jellies, boba, etc). I really like that they include a label with the nutritional information for anyone who needs to be recording their sugar/calorie/caffeine intake. There's a small parking lot in the back of the building that's metered, but if you're just dropping by to pick up, you can use the free 15 min grace period.
