The Best Matcha Einspanner in Long Beach!!! I'm obsessed with the Matcha Einspanner, and it's usually the only drink I get here. The regular Matcha Latte is so good, but I love getting the Matcha Einspanner because it makes the drink more creamier. I always get the Matcha Einspanner with Oat Milk because whole milk is typically overpowering and reduces the matcha flavor. The cream in the Matcha Einspanner is not salty or bitter, and it has a subtle sweetness, but it's not too much. The drink itself is a perfect balance of bitter and sweet, and it has this beautiful green color. The employees are also super kind and helpful! They sometimes give you an estimate on how long your drinks will take which is so nice! They're also very knowledgeable about the menu which is great if you're ever curious about something on the menu. The cafe is in a busy plaza with two cafes, a vet hospital, a liquor store, a dive bar, a hair salon, and a nail salon. Parking is my biggest issue when coming here. I usually just deal with it because I love the Matcha Einspanner, but sometimes it's just annoying. There's a parking space reserved for "Ding Tea Customers for Pick-Up", Ding Tea is the business that used to be the where Teatopia is now, but you would think by now they'd change the sign or stick a piece of paper on it saying "Teatopia". The cafe has about four table with seating, outdoor seating, a restroom for customers, and a station where you can make ramen. It's always clean in the cafe. I'm almost a regular here so I'm going to continue to come here and just deal with the parking! read more

The matcha here is wonderful! I always go with the free extra gram, personally I love how it elevates the drink. The milk teas are just hit or miss some days... but I'm biased, 8/10 I'm here for matcha & don't usually branch out. The regular matcha latte is perfect- not too much, not too little. I find that with the speciality matchas, the add-ins can kind of overpower the drink. If you like it extra sweet, though, they would be right up your alley! Out of the many boba shops that I've been to, this one seems quite mediocre. This shop has a giant menu with a lot of variety, maybe even too many. I had the Iron Oolong Milk Tea with grass jelly, while my partner had the Phoenix Oolong Milk Tea with crystal boba. Both drinks tasted ok, nothing really stood out. 10 days after I posted my last review (update?), I got an email from Teatopia indicating they missed me and loaded a special offer onto my account: 50% off a drink of my choice, valid from the date when the email was sent. Now read the last nine words of the last sentence again. Yup, the email only mentioned when the offer was loaded, but didn't even mention the expiration date! Was it the very next day? Next week? Or even next month? Well, it certainly wasn't 5 months because I stopped by this Teatopia earlier in the week to ask when the expiration date of that offer was as there was no indication on the email I had received. The bobarista behind the front counter didn't have an idea, although she sort of implied that the offer had expired after looking at the "valid from" in my email. However, I had to mention that was the date I received the email, not the expiration date. She did suggest I put in my phone number into the tablet at the front counter. After doing so, all I saw were reward tiers, but not the 50% off offer I was given back in May. At this point, it was clear the offer had expired, but there was no way for me to tell when it had expired. This really flustered me because I usually keep a log of these kinds of deals and rewards on a spreadsheet, but because they didn't specify an expiration date in the email offer, I didn't know how to add this to my spreadsheet. I only remembered this offer because I had made a wrong turn or two on my way home that day, and I had just suddenly remembered this offer on a whim. I also got real lucky with parking, taking the last available spot in front of the shop before another driver could get there. A simple, but very important detail, and they completely overlooked it. The bobarista did ask if I was willing to place an order, but having experienced nothing but disappointment on my last visit, I declined to even though there was no other customer in the shop, a stark contrast from my last visit when I couldn't even find an open seat. I have a handful of points on my rewards account, but I'd need a lot more in order to redeem my points and save a few bucks. Teatopia may be a utopia to most others, but to me, it's a dystopia with a side of dysfunctionality, at least when it comes to marketing. Passed by this shop as we were out in Long Beach, was pretty intrigued about a shop that used to be Ding Tea but rebranded. Prices are pretty similar to Ding Tea, along the lines of $6 range to $8. Parking is free in a moderate size plaza, pretty accessible. There's some tables outside along with some tables inside, although the shop itself is pretty small. My partner and I ordered the Phoenix Oolong Milk Tea with Crystal Boba and the Iron Oolong Milk Tea with Grass Jelly to try out their various toppings and new drinks menu. Both drinks came out pretty quickly even though the shop was quite busy. I love the interior design, pretty dark majestic vibes type with plenty of colorful LED signs & painting/posters. Drinks wise, it was pretty much what I expected. It's not super duper tasty, but very much "decent." Both were pretty refreshing as it was a hot summer day, it wasn't too sweet either with both drinks at 50% sugar adjustment level. I always rate boba shops on how great their cups are, and Teatopia is a solid 4/5. Very much sturdy & cute design, no spills. OMG this place is so underrated and not spoken about enough. When my friends and I tried this we were blown away by the quality and how strong the matcha is. I think that this place does an excellent job at balancing their fruit flavors with the matcha and none of the flavors are clashing or overpowering each other. I tried their double matcha, and that is a very strong drink! I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a strong matcha flavor to kick em in the face (in a good way.) Teatopia is nothing like Ding Tea, which was a reputable chain that set high standards for all the local boba tea places. Teatopia has a different management, ownership, and even the menu. There is no reason why all the past reviews for Ding Tea continue to fall under Teatopia. Out of curiosity, I gave Teatopia a chance, and I was disappointed. The service was aloof, and the actual tea carried less tea flavor than the artificial syrup used in the concoction. The boba was not warm, and they were distinctively smaller and harder. I dropped off my fur baby at the vet, located in the same shopping center, for a heart worm test. They told me it wasn't going to take too long so I went to grab a sandwich next door to Teatopia to kill some time and do something about my hunger that was well on the way to me becoming hangry. Well they don't have tables inside or outside, so I I used one of Teatopia's tables but I felt guilty, so I bought a beverage here. I decided to get the Passion Breeze Refresher because although I was obsessed with boba during my teen years... it was a phase that I quickly overcame and never looked back. Well my boba-less beverage was delicious and very refreshing, not too sweet, just right. Employees here were friendly and everything looked clean. I was in Long Beach for a few hours this afternoon and this used to be a Ding Tea location so I thought I'd give it a try. I mentioned to the nice young woman at the register that that kumquat lemon tea was my go to drink at Ding Tea and she recommended the Passion Breeze which she said also has a nice tart flavor so I ordered that. Good call as the drink was nice and refreshing with a nice tartness and the golden boba and crystal boba was the same great Ding Tea boba. This drink also has several nice big chunks of dragon fruit which was a great addition. The shop is located in a nice modern strip mall on the corner south east of Clark Ave and Atherton Ave. The inside is nice and clean with several neon signs on the wall and large menus on TV screens overhead as well as a laminated printed version of the menu on the counter. I arrived a little bit before they opened and all the boba was was ready go to right away which is great because some places don't start preparing the boba until right when they open and make you wait ten minutes. Parking was a little bit of a challenge as the lot was pretty full and many of the parking spots are designated for specific businesses. But if you park anywhere and grab a drink quick, you shouldn't have a problem. read more

I got the Thai tea, and while it was okay, it didn't have that authentic richness you'd expect from a solid Thai tea. The boba was fine--not super fresh, but not terrible either. There are about 5 to 6 tables inside, and I think only one of them has an outlet, so it's not really a go-to study spot. Walked in on a warm winter's day to a very colorful ambiance. The area is a contrast of black and white patterning with bright neon signs and a variety of wall styles. The staff was helpful and polite and their menu had a bevy of different teas. This place used to be called Ding Tea and rebranded to Teatopia and you can taste the improvements they made over the franchise. I had the flight of milk tea (12 oz each of 4 different teas) and selected the classic, brown sugar, wintermelon, and the advertised as the only place sold in long beach: Phoenix oolong. The classic milk tea is heavy on the tea side, good for those that enjoy a strong tea but doesn't quite meet the expectations of milk tea for me. The brown sugar has a lovely amount of brown sugary goodness intermingled with the heavy bass of the tea. The Phoenix oolong provides a light tasting tea with roasted notes as it leaves. I enjoyed the Phoenix. The wintermelon is good, striking a balance between tea and melon though admittedly weighted towards the tea side. All in all, I really liked the tea here. The most forgettable was the classic but even that provided a good baseline for the other flavored milk tea. read more

I like them a lot, flavour wise especially, but they keep leaving their deal signs outside and then not honouring the deal when you go inside, which seems misleading. If the deal doesn't exist, either change the sign or take it away, and if someone comes in for the deal, they should honour it because that's unfair to the customer. This has happened on two separate occasions with two separate deals. Otherwise, great boba and great drinks :) I've generally liked everything I've tried here!
