Email neglected to mention the expiration date, so I had no idea when this offer expired
Derek W.

10 days after I posted my last review (update?), I got an email from Teatopia indicating they missed me and loaded a special offer onto my account: 50% off a drink of my choice, valid from the date when the email was sent. Now read the last nine words of the last sentence again. Yup, the email only mentioned when the offer was loaded, but didn't even mention the expiration date! Was it the very next day? Next week? Or even next month? Well, it certainly wasn't 5 months because I stopped by this Teatopia earlier in the week to ask when the expiration date of that offer was as there was no indication on the email I had received. The bobarista behind the front counter didn't have an idea, although she sort of implied that the offer had expired after looking at the "valid from" in my email. However, I had to mention that was the date I received the email, not the expiration date. She did suggest I put in my phone number into the tablet at the front counter. After doing so, all I saw were reward tiers, but not the 50% off offer I was given back in May. At this point, it was clear the offer had expired, but there was no way for me to tell when it had expired. This really flustered me because I usually keep a log of these kinds of deals and rewards on a spreadsheet, but because they didn't specify an expiration date in the email offer, I didn't know how to add this to my spreadsheet. I only remembered this offer because I had made a wrong turn or two on my way home that day, and I had just suddenly remembered this offer on a whim. I also got real lucky with parking, taking the last available spot in front of the shop before another driver could get there. A simple, but very important detail, and they completely overlooked it. The bobarista did ask if I was willing to place an order, but having experienced nothing but disappointment on my last visit, I declined to even though there was no other customer in the shop, a stark contrast from my last visit when I couldn't even find an open seat. I have a handful of points on my rewards account, but I'd need a lot more in order to redeem my points and save a few bucks. Teatopia may be a utopia to most others, but to me, it's a dystopia with a side of dysfunctionality, at least when it comes to marketing. There are way better boba shops closer to me, so why should I return to this one?

Phoenix Oolong Milk Tea & Iron Oolong Milk Tea

Passed by this shop as we were out in Long Beach, was pretty intrigued about a shop that used to be Ding Tea but rebranded. Prices are pretty similar to Ding Tea, along the lines of $6 range to $8. Parking is free in a moderate size plaza, pretty accessible. There's some tables outside along with some tables inside, although the shop itself is pretty small. My partner and I ordered the Phoenix Oolong Milk Tea with Crystal Boba and the Iron Oolong Milk Tea with Grass Jelly to try out their various toppings and new drinks menu. Both drinks came out pretty quickly even though the shop was quite busy. I love the interior design, pretty dark majestic vibes type with plenty of colorful LED signs & painting/posters. Drinks wise, it was pretty much what I expected. It's not super duper tasty, but very much "decent." Both were pretty refreshing as it was a hot summer day, it wasn't too sweet either with both drinks at 50% sugar adjustment level. I always rate boba shops on how great their cups are, and Teatopia is a solid 4/5. Very much sturdy & cute design, no spills. A little side note is that they have a DIY ramen on the side of the counter where you can customize your own, pretty unique for a boba shop but definitely worth a look if you visit.

The best banana matcha in town!!! This is definitely my go to spot for matcha. The strawberry and other matcha is also great. But the banana matcha has to my favorite. NOT ONLY are the matchas good. But their other drinks in general! The strawberry yakult is also one of my favorites there. I love how they have a kids menu as well LOL Service is fast and efficient! If you do want to order matcha, I suggest ordering ahead for pick up. If you order there it might take a while, because they do HAND WHISK their matcha. Which is probably why it's delicious. lol Ambiance- small seating inside, more seating outside. OH they also have a self serve ramen bar!

Boba is an extra .85 cents and with the sales tax it comes out to 8.23

I came to the plaza specifically to get coffee at Cyclops but I was craving boba and saw this place right by it. The place is clean and has a chill atmosphere. I like the neon signs. The tea was delicious. The cup that it came in was made of a thick plastic so I kept it. That's probably why It's pricey. I got a blended taro tea with boba and it was like 8+ dollars because boba is extra for some reason. If you're going to specialize in milk tea, why would you charge extra for boba? I've never seen that before. I don't think I will be back because of that.

This spot is so gooood! All of their matcha drinks are so high quality. Almost everyone in there left with a matcha so I think that says a lot. It's nutty, perfectly sweet, great matcha aroma with slight astringency. The shop itself is really cute and I love all the neon signs. Service was fast and the staff was very friendly. I'll definitely be back.

Wanting to update my review because this is my only tea shop that I go to. My go to order is usually made well but Max has it down pat - my favorite employee simply because they make great suggestions to all my friends and are always super helpful and friendly. Vibes are always great.

It's incredibly confusing and disingenuous to combine all the past reviews for a completely different business with the existing new Teatopia. Teatopia is nothing like Ding Tea, which was a reputable chain that set high standards for all the local boba tea places. Teatopia has a different management, ownership, and even the menu. There is no reason why all the past reviews for Ding Tea continue to fall under Teatopia. Out of curiosity, I gave Teatopia a chance, and I was disappointed. The service was aloof, and the actual tea carried less tea flavor than the artificial syrup used in the concoction. The boba was not warm, and they were distinctively smaller and harder. Fortunately, Ding Tea has a new location at Bixby Knolls. I'll have to drive farther to enjoy my favorite boba tea.

Teatopia is located off Clark near CSULB in Long Beach. It used to be a Ding Tea location and their parking spots still is labelled as "Ding Tea". They essentially have the same menu as Ding Tea and the drinks are pretty similar. I do enjoy Ding Tea. Drinks are generally between $6 to $7.50. If you want a snack, you could order instant ramen for $6; however, that's not really my "cup of tea". The parking situation is what causes me to choose to go elsewhere for my boba needs. There are only a few spots that are designated for Teatopia and these spots are often not available.

New boba shop, they are located in the plaza where Ding Tea was before. Drinks were good and the Staff were nice.

I used to come all the time when it was a Ding Tea, the drinks are still very similar. I am honestly not a matcha person but their matcha is bomb, I would actually get a matcha here. The service is great, drinks came out super quickly and I was surprised since it was a Sunday!! I loved that the place is so easy to find. The place was decorated pretty nicely and everyone is super friendly. I ended up getting the cookies n cream and it was the perfect amount of sweetness I would recommend it!!

Came here on a Friday night and was amazed at the menu - they had a bunch of milk teas, fruit teas, smoothies, and matcha drinks! Neon signs line the walls and really add to the late night vibe! We ordered the mango sago and guava matcha, and the barista gave us 10% off when we joined the queue phone number list. It's a pretty impressive boba spot in the Long Beach area!

The lovely cashier was super nice and welcoming! I left with a coffee blended drink, a chamango, and an iced coffee milk t with banana cream. The drinks were delicious. Stopped by last minute for some drinks and ended up craving some ramen! Gonna stop by whenever I'm around for some ramen next time for sure!

I dropped off my fur baby at the vet, located in the same shopping center, for a heart worm test. They told me it wasn't going to take too long so I went to grab a sandwich next door to Teatopia to kill some time and do something about my hunger that was well on the way to me becoming hangry. Well they don't have tables inside or outside, so I I used one of Teatopia's tables but I felt guilty, so I bought a beverage here. I decided to get the Passion Breeze Refresher because although I was obsessed with boba during my teen years... it was a phase that I quickly overcame and never looked back. Well my boba-less beverage was delicious and very refreshing, not too sweet, just right. Employees here were friendly and everything looked clean. I enjoyed my refresher outside and did not regret trying this spot out. Will definitely stop by next time Fran has an appointment at the vet.

What is the monster drink? Does it have tea in it?

One of the most popular known drink made with fresh rich milk added brown sugar and brown sugar pearl. It's one of mines & my daughter's go to boba drink we get it every time when we crave for boba or when we go and have our boba dates.

Do you guys offer hot drinks?

Yes we do. If you look at our menu, anything with a flame next to the name means there is a “hot” option for the drink.

Hi I was wondering can you buy gift cards online?

Sorry, they’re only available for purchase in store

Does this Long Beach Ding Tea location sell physical gift cards? Thank you for your help!

Yes we do!

Can I substitute the non-dairy creamer used on your milk teas to a choice of my plant based milk from your menu (i.e., almond, oat, or soy)? Or is your non-dairy creamer already premixed on the milk tea choices? Thanks!
