My friend accidentally navigated to this place originally looking for TasteTea* and ending up here we decided to try it out. They have many different options for tea that you would typically find at boba shops and more but what I really took note of was their food which was way better than I was expecting from a cafe, I like that their portions match the price well as they have options of small or large order which makes great for snacking or a meal. Service was excellent and food came out fast. It's semi quiet, enough to hold conversations but not sure if I would come and study or do work here. They recently opened up their dining room again so I had to come in for dinner. I ordered their fried porkchop rice meal, minced beef with egg meal, and fried sesame balls. When you dine in, they give water in ceramic mugs, and it feels like you're eating at someone's a house in the best way. Came here because I thought this is the place my friend was recommending but it turns out it's not the same place. FOOD: I am pleasantly surprised and impressed with the quality and taste of the food. My son is a UPS driver and he chose this place for one of our weekly dinners. Actually, we took out food from here two weeks in a row. We had spicy chicken with rice, which is actually popcorn chicken. The popcorn chicken was the best I've had. The flavor on the breading is delicious. I was a tea egg virgin. My son had described them to me, but I still didn't know what to expect. I really enjoyed the flavor of the egg and the fluffy yolk in the middle. I'm gonna try to make them at home. The plates come with rice, vegetables, and delicious tofu. The tofu was so soft and creamy. We also got Thai iced tea. The Thai tea was delicious and I like that they ask you how sweet you want it. They also ask you about the spice level of your food. We had the grilled salmon and spicy chicken wings as well. Everything was delicious, and the salmon was nicely grilled and flavorful. SERVICE: the service is excellent. It takes a minute for you to get your food, but it's always freshly prepared and delicious. Found this place on Yelp & was pleasantly surprised! They only offer takeout here, they've closed off their dining room. I definitely didn't know this before I came so I ended up eating in my car because I was so hungry. Service was okay, not super friendly. I feel like pricing was a little on the higher side but you do get a lot of food. Quick service even when ordering there. What I ordered: -Fried Spicy Chicken Meal: This was their popcorn chicken meal and you get a lot of food! In addition to the popcorn chicken, you get rice, cabbage, pickled cucumbers, and a chicken and potato side dish! Everything was so good and very flavorful! Definitely quality food that I'd get again! 5/5 -Lychee Black Tea: This was okay. One of my favorite places in Artesia to come for boba & snacks! Have come here multiple times and the drinks and food are always consistent. I couldn't dine in when I visited, which is alright. Though, it makes the optional tip upon purchase quite awkward. If it's to-go, I think they shouldn't include a tip portion. I ordered large popcorn chicken. It was sizable, but more expensive than I thought. It's at $16 now, which, coupled with the $5 milk tea, amounted to $21 plus tax. Yikes. One of my favorite places in Artesia for fast food! Dine-in closed for the pandemic and I highly doubt they'll open it again, but I love this spot for what it is. I've been here a few times and wish it were closer to me. The prices are super reasonable for the portions you get, especially with the rice combo that comes with veggie sides. I always order the braised pork. It's delicious, filling, and everything is seasoned really well. Everything tastes authentic and well-made. Don't waste your money at places like Bopomofo for food, this spot is way more worth it. I was craving Taiwanese sausage and this place had it! Turns out it's only a takeout place. You order at the door and the guy inside will take your order. Their dishes come out in bento box style with rice, some type of veg (looks like it depends what entree you order) and some other small sides. Their drinks are pretty decent actually too. (as you can tell from my 18 check-ins lol) I usually get the wintermelon milk tea or formosa milk tea because I'm more of a milk tea person, but they have so many options ranging from all the fruity teas to barley milk tea (which i've heard is amazing too!) Their tea tastes fresh and 100% sweetness can be a bit sweet so I always get it 75% or 50%. Their boba is also the perfect sweetness and consistency, not too hard or chewy. The food is pretty decent if you're looking for a snack, but not super memorable. They used to be open for dine-in before covid, but haven't reopened the dining room since so now they only do takeout. I wish they'd reopen because I used to take my friends here as a hangout spot. I recommend this place to all my friends even though it's out of the way from where I live. I've also brought so many friends and family here and have multiple stamp cards! There are many tea cafes in the Cerritos-Artesia area and this place is one of the better ones. It's a family run shop, in an older plaza off of Norwalk Boulevard, and it's probably been around longer than any of the chain boba places. I stopped by for a Hokkaido milk tea with boba. They have a large number of tea choices as well as some food options on the menu. The pleasant woman who took my order made sure to ask what sweetness level I wanted (on the sweeter side for me). It only took a minute or two to get my drink ready. The drink was great, the boba fresh and chewy. As this visit was during the infamous Covid era they were not allowing anyone inside the shop; a table blocked the doorway and you just ordered at the entrance and took your items to-go. read more

Taste Tea Cafe is located in a strip mall with several Asian eateries and businesses with plenty of parking available. My husband and I decided to come here for some tea since we were in Cerritos. We came on a Saturday a little before 4 pm. The restaurant only had the front door open, that was blocked by a table so you can order (and not come inside). After looking over the menu, we ended up ordering: Almond Milk Tea (Large), $4.25 + $0.75- I ordered this drink to be made with no ice and 50% sweetener. This drink was way too sweet even at 50% sweetener and makes me wonder if the sweetener level was adjusted or if their drinks are really too sweet. Also this drink had a gritty bottom, which tells me it was made with powder and wished it was better mixed in. Lavender Milk Tea (Large) $4.25 + $0.75- My husband ordered this drink to be made with no ice and 50% sweetener too. Same as my drink, his drink was way too sweet and also powdery at the bottom. ------------------------- (Total= $10) Please note that this place has a Yelp check in deal of a free upgrade to large size with check in. There was a line out the door but it's because you can only do to go. The only place in the area that has an extensive Taiwanese boba cafe menu. OGs remember the Tapioca Express/Boba Stop in the same location/store or two over, and this is a huge upgrade from both of them. You'd either have to go to SGV or Central OC, or pop into a boba shop that focuses on a small menu with a handful of eats, this place is a god send when Taiwanese cafes are almost a fad of the past. I've only tried a handful of milk teas and it tastes fresh and not artificial. Their appetizers and stew meals are super good too. Nice service. The only downside is they haven't opened up their dining area since COVID. I bet there'd be students working on stuff all day if they reopened it. Every weekend, we support local eats. Whether its local eats 5 minutes away or 60 minutes away, we will help by doing takeout. Today, due to a lack of time we came here. A place only a few minutes away from our house. It was fast and convienant. Due to covid, you walk up and there is venmo and paypal payment options. Of course, we paid via CC. The wait was only 10-15 min. We ordered the fried pork chop and the bamboo shoot with pork entree. All dishes comes with 3 little sides and it was stir fry sesame oil veggies/vinegar cucumbers/and cooked carrot and squash. The sides were tasty, rice nearly perfect but couldn't say the same about the main. Especially on those pork chops, heres why. The two pieces of pork chops were drenched in fat. Not only that, it had bone on 1/3 of the portions. Not sure how this was possible since normal pieces next to the bone are typically meat. Also, the odds of getting both pieces that is pure fat is almost impossible. The seasoning on the pork chop however is spot on. It was a little sad to just lick the pork chops and not eat it. I do have to say the bamboo pork dish we ate the whole thing. The sauce was a little thin and the portion was a little small. Otherwise, that was a tastier dish. Not sure if coming mid afternoon and seeing the workers eating lunch was a bad time or not but perhaps I will give thia place another shot. I remember back in the day this place used to be Quickly and I came here for the same type of food and drinks. During these times, I wouldn't give low rating but 3.5 is what we've experienced. So we'll give 4 stars and try this place again one of these weekends. Happy to see they were busy with people ordering/picking up after our order. read more

The meals, which come with two sides, are my favorite choices here. There are a number of delicious options, from the popular (Taiwanese beef or pork stew, minced beef with pan egg, braised pork chop, Taiwanese sausage) to the more adventurous (pork knuckle). All guaranteed to be made-to-order and full of flavor. The Beef Stew with Rice, $10.45 and Minced Beef with Pan Egg with Rice, $10.45 are the two dishes I have tried so far. Delicious, hearty and under $11. Recommended. The tea beverages are also fantastic: sharp, clean tea flavor, well blended, not overly sweeten. I am a particular fan of their flavored iced green and milk teas. But they have all the usual options expected from a Taiwanese café: oolong, coffees, traditional hot teas, smoothies.
