    Shrimp & Salmon Poke Bowl
    Tiarra J.

Stopped in on a random Wednesday for lunch with a coworker and it ended up being a great choice. There was a small line when we walked in, but it moved really fast so we were ordering within a few minutes. That's usually a good sign at a poke spot. I like their build-your-own poke bowl option because you can customize everything. My bowl was around $16. I went with salmon and shrimp over brown rice with broccoli on the bottom, then added a few toppings, spicy mayo, and the Uroko sauce. The fish tastes really fresh and the sauces pull everything together. We ate outside under the umbrella covered tables. I do wish it had been a warmer day, but that's no fault of Uroko. It's located in a plaza, so parking is easy and you don't have to circle around looking for a spot. Overall just a super easy lunch choice when you want something quick, fresh, and filling.

Placed the order ahead of time for pickup. Parking was difficult as the strip was jam packed full of diners trying to get dinner from Juicy Dumpling Factory. I appreciated the freshness of the bowl and the vibrant flavors it offered. But the 2 scoop protein bowl hardly had any eel or the spicy salmon I chose. The salad also had very disproportionate amounts of dressing. So one side had no seasoning and the other spots were drowning with dressings. My biggest gripe was the chewy and slimy texture of the eel. I was not a fan. It had a similar texture to animal cartilage or gummy bear gone stale. I will definitely skip getting eel as my protein choice for the next visit. Would I be open to returning again? Absolutely! I would probably get my dressings / sauces on side and skip the eel for a better bowl experience. I think it's still a good spot to get poke in the vicinity.

Pretty standard poke, there was a limit of toppings though. I got salmon for my bowl and it did taste pretty fresh. Would've ranked higher if they had unlimited toppings :(

Ordered some sushi rolls to go for kids. They said is delicious. The package was good too.

Yum, I love Uroko Poke! I prefer this location over the Costa Mesa shop. The parking lot is big, so it's easy to find a space. Workers immediately greeted me when I entered the shop. At Uroko Poke, you can order sushi, handrolls, or their poke bowls. I always opt for the poke bowl, and customize it to my liking. I prefer to get my sauce on the side. The workers will answer your questions if you have any or need help ordering. I enjoyed going to this location because the worker hooked it up! She gave me big portions that I had to save my bowl for the next day. Also, Uroko Poke always has fresh ingredients. When I'm taking a bite of the food, it's flavorful and delicious. There's inside and out door seating. The service is friendly and fast. The food is delicious and fresh! I definitely recommend this Uroko Poke location. Whenever I'm craving poke, I'll make a stop here.

Located near my hotel which was very convenient. Ordered a sushi platter. You can customize what sushi rolls you want. I ordered it online and glad they had the order ready. A family member stated this was his favorite place for poke. Hopefully I can try it the next time I'm in town. Workers were very friendly and the place had many seats inside and outside the restaurant. Quick service too!

I was craving poke and was glad that I stopped by Uroko Cafe. I had the Costa Mesa location bookmarked but didn't realize that there were other locations! I ordered two scoops of spicy tuna and tofu, the Uroko original sauce and 6 toppings. The ingredients were fresh and well-balanced; and I really enjoyed how my bowl came out! I also appreciated how the avocado was not an up-charge as a topping. The server was friendly and we received our bowls promptly. There is also plenty of seating inside to enjoy your customized creation. Will definitely be coming back for another poke bowl!

Food: Good quality at a fair price. A good level of ingredient options as well. Service: Quick and friendly. Ambiance: The place is clean and welcoming with plenty of seating.

been to the Costa Mesa location and now this one, always fresh poke and amazing customer service. I did notice this location has eel/unagi, I didn't notice that at Costa Mesa $17 for 3 scoops. avocado and crab meat are free. they asked if I wanted more sauce with my bowl, next time I'll put more outdoor seating and lots of parking

This place is one of the best poke places I've ever been to! They really do have everything, from great portions, fair pricing, friendly workers, fresh fish, comfortable indoor OR outdoor seating, and abundant parking. I got the bowl with brown rice and 3 scoops of fish. Their scoops are very friendly and fair, which is something I pay attention to in places like this. What blew me away was that they offer crab meat, mango, or pineapple as toppings with NO extra cost! In a world where so many places charge you extra for those, this is probably the biggest reason why I'd love to come back and support Uroko Poke.

At the very least, it has been my favorite chain of Japanese markets, but it stinks how they have just one location in the Bay Area! In fact, across my limited number of trips to SoCal, I've already visited more locations down here than back at home and I have to say - this location may be the newest, but it's also my least favorite one I've been to. Like pretty much every other Mitsuwa I've been to, this location has a cute little food court with a half dozen or so eateries offering a variety of food options - from ramen, udon, and curry rice plates to onigiri, matcha, and Japanese sweets. As for the market, it has all of the usual offerings you would expect - a solid selection of fresh produce, meats, seafood, frozen foods, pantry staples, alcohol, snacks, and sections of prepared foods and sushi to choose from. What's more, as a whole, everything here felt so new and clean (which makes sense in hindsight, as it apparently opened only back in November). With all of that having been said, though, it's weird to me how this place still felt a bit...lacking. While you can find a decent mix of things to eat at their food court, it's pretty much limited to three eateries, so don't be surprised to see lines when it's busy. Also, despite how new it is, the market feels smaller than other Mitsuwas I've been to. That's not inherently bad, but pickings felt relatively slim for certain meats and produce we were looking for, as well as their bento boxes and sushi. Granted, it probably didn't help that we were here on a Sunday and the place was packed with customers, but it's not like we stopped in towards the end of the day either. All in all, while I definitely think there are plenty of positives about this location, I'd be lying if I said I was as impressed with this one as I was by their location in Costa Mesa. It's definitely nice how new it is and I would never be opposed to going to any Mitsuwa, but if I lived out this way, it'd be tough not to know whether I'll be able to get everything I need here or if I'll also need to stop off somewhere else. THREE AND A HALF STARS rounded down for now.

We ended up purchasing: Spicy Tuna, $2.70 prior to tax- My husband decided to order this and really enjoyed it. I didn't have any because I am not much of a spicy eater. But my husband enjoyed it. Grilled Eel, $3.60 prior to tax- My husband and I split this one. I really liked the eel and also the sauce that was used on top of the eel. My husband also really liked this one. Fried Oyster, $3.60 prior to tax- I decided to order this one but it was topped with a spicy mayonnaise that I thought was a little too spicy for me (again, I am not a spicy eater). But the fried oyster itself was good. ---------------------------------- (Total= $10.67 after tax) Wait time for our items was pretty much non existent, since the girl helping us boxed up our items before I even had the chance to finish paying (I always struggle to pay via tap on the first try... I always seem to have the credit card somewhere else, instead of wherever the sensor is to pay for it...D'oh). This was a great snack for us since we had lunch 3 hours before (I had a light lunch of a tofu salad so the 1.5 onigiri that I had was perfect for me). I like that the onigiri was fresh and the filling. But there is a significant amount of rice and very little of the filling. But I still liked it regardless and would definitely come back to try the other flavors in the future.

But I must agree with other reviewers on certain aspects. The nori is very soft and chewy. It's not separated from the warm gohan itself. So if you're accustomed to onigiri with crisp nori, you will be disappointed. Depending on which kind of omusubi you're getting, I also agree that it may definitely feel like there's a lot more rice than the filling. I usually get the mentaiko, ebiten, and oyster musubis. I feel as though those are actually consistently good. The saltiness of the fillings really offsets the amount of rice included and makes it work. My other favorite flavors are takana and shiso. The two goes perfectly well with the karaage they sell separately. Another thing is that the rice itself is actually seasoned and not plain, which helps. Chashu and other fillings like eel has been a miss at this location. Same with their tuna and salmon offerings. I must admit I'm especially not a huge fan of their tuna offerings. It uses too much katsuobushi flavor in my opinion. I like mine more mayo forward. The service here can be a hit or a miss. It really depends on who is working there and what time/day of the week it is. Same goes with the availability of seatings. Parking is free but can be a hassle to find a close spot because of the proximity to the gym, superchargers, and other businesses.

This sushi place seems to just keep getting better…read more Not sure if they had oysters before but I recently saw it on the menu. It is so good we get at least two orders everytime we come I also love all the nigiri they have. We usually pick the ones from Japan and it is delicious. The service is really good. I usually get my food without sesame and I noticed the other day they accidentally out a little sesame on it and instead of just picking it off and giving it to me the remade the whole order. I was very very impressed by it. The ambiance is nice. It can feel casual but the food you taste is very Delicious and feel high end.

Quick dinner on a Friday after work. The staff is always welcoming and made sure to check in on us…read moreregularly. Our first time here was last. It was happy hour before 5pm. Prices are affordable and sushi was flavorful. Today, we ordered almost the same items but unfortunately there was barely any taste. It did not taste bad more like freshly unfrozen with only some flavor and little sweetness. Spicy edamame - tasted like it was just sate'd in chili oil and salt Yellow tail belly Albacore belly Jumbo Scallop Ankimo Spanish Makeral Red Snapper We really enjoyed this place and wanted to give it another try but if you do try; definitely come before 5pm for their Makeral hour prices. Again, the staff was very nice nice welcoming. It is a place for family and quick get together but the food has been hit n miss.

I was craving some cold soba and saw that Echizen offered Zaru Soba! We waited about 15 minutes or…read moreso for a table for 2. Under their Light Dinner section, they offer a Zarusoba for $12.00 and a Tempura Udon/Soba with Shrimp Tempura for $13.00. However, if you want Zarusoba with Tempura, they charge an extra dollar. The Zarusoba was good, but it would be nice if they gave a bit more sauce for dipping. I also got a Sashimi Salad, which had a lot of sashimi! It had salmon, tuna, and a white fish. Pretty good, but it could have used a little more dressing as well. The Combination Plate with Salmon and Tempura was enjoyable. It comes with a piece of salmon, a variety of tempura (shrimp, broccoli, sweet potato, onion), side salad, miso soup, rice, tempura sauce, and teriyaki sauce. Salmon was cooked well, and I liked all of the tempura! Their Lunch Specials are originally what caught my eye, but it seems like they don't have anything similar for dinner. Instead, everything is a la carte with the exception of a few combination plates. I wish they would do dinner specials similar to their lunch specials! Parking here is pretty difficult. The lot gets packed with several cars circling around hunting for a spot. They're also going some construction right now which doesn't help. There is a large parking lot where the Home Depot is next door, but they specifically have signs posted to say you can't park there.

Been coming here since 2014…read more Started as a broke Cypress College student now working in corporate. Authentic Japanese-owned, mostly Japanese staff, with a couple of long-timers who have clearly found their forever workplace - over a decade and counting. New owner took over when the original retired, a few small changes here and there, but the food and service? Barely touched. That is the highest compliment a ownership transition can get. Check IG for their lunch specials from M-F. I am leaving this review purely out of self-interest. This place cannot close.
