I'm so glad they opened a Pepper Lunch in Rodeo 39! Ordering is very easy through a kiosk, but the workers are all standing there in case you need anything or have questions. There's plenty of seating since it's a food court, and I feel like having Pepper Lunch here has definitely attracted more people which makes for a more lively crowd! My friend and I both got the jumbo beef pepper rice this time, which has double the amount of meat that the normal one does. Great way to get your protein in! Their sizzling plates are delicious! There is so much peppery, buttery, umami flavor in every bite. I love drowning everything in their sauces that they provide on the side. The beef always ends up being cooked perfectly on the hot plate, and the rice crisps up in some parts to add texture. It's such a simple dish but so addicting!
Came here during the second day of their grand opening for the BOGO beef pepper rice with my husband. We came later in the evening hoping the crowds would've died down, and I would say the line was decently long still, but we go to the front in like 30 or so minutes? Which isn't too bad all things considered. I actually thought the dishes were quite good, in that their were fresh, tasty, well cooked ingredients. But my husband was pretty underwhelmed cause the flavor was lacking even using the sauces that they provide, so I'd actually kind of agree with this. Even when we loaded on the sauce it kinda felt lacking. I think with a bit more salt and MSG the dishes would be a little better. There's a lot of parking, but I assume it must be a little tricky during peak days and hours.
Garden Grove, Westminster, and Stanton: You now have your own Pepper Lunch location! Previously, if you wanted Pepper Lunch, the nearest locations were in Irvine, Cerritos/Artesia, or Alhambra. If you're not familiar with the brand, it originated in Japan. They're a fast-casual restaurant that serves a variety of teppanyaki dishes on cast iron hot plates. They're known for their "pepper rice" (pepper steak on rice), but they offer a variety of beef, chicken, seafood, and vegetable combos. If you've never tried it before, you should give it a shot at least once. The food is tasty, and the presentation is unique.
Had this more then a decade ago in Asia and seeing this here in the US at the Rodeo 39 Stanton was abit bitter sweet. Went here on Sunday late afternoon and several folks head. Menu is director and easy to order. Staff are nice and helpful. Once ordered you find a seat and once done, they brought the foods to you sizzle hot. It was the same taste and same concept that you cooked the meat as you go mixed with rice, corn, cheese and butter. But it still lack of seasoning (POV) same as I remembered, and normally there would be salt and pepper on the table but it's a community seating area and abit far to walk back to ask....its a great and fun concept plus give the kid and family members something to do as we ate. Overall it was good size and good portion and with good service.

It was so good I went for both weekend dates for their BOGO promotion. I'd come back here. * Beef Pepper Rice 5/5 - This dish came with rice, beef, corn, and green onions on top. The skillet was sizzling HOT. You stir all the ingredients together to mix and cook them further. The portion was generous and the taste was good. It was slightly not as savory as I remember, but I liked it better this way. They had 2 delicious sauces on the table that you can add as much as to your liking: Garlic Soy and Sweet Brown. I really like the Sweet Brown one, and once added, the pepper rice became heavenly. Would definitely recommend!

This is located inside the Rodeo39 shopping area, so the seating is more of a free-for-all, where ever there is space, though they did tell us to sit in a certain area where they can see and find us when they bring out the order. The pricing during the promo was really good, hence why we came out. The food was also very tasty. We got the beef pepper rice and one of them we added an egg. Pretty much tastes as expected, no complaints. Not sure if I'd come back anytime soon as parking in this place is so difficult during normal hours, and I personally just don't like very busy and crowded areas. However, shout out to the business for hosting an event like this that encourages us to try them out or stop by. Highly recommend if you like Pepper Lunch or just want to try them out. If you don't care about price much, the food itself tastes great and the staff are very friendly.
So glad Pepper Lunch opened at Rodeo 39! Solid spot for a delicious and affordable meal. I've only ever had their takeout but finally got to dine in yesterday which is a lot better. The hot plate cooks the meat while crisping it up with the rice. You don't get that crisp when you take your food togo. I love adding in some of the garlic soy sauce too. Staff is really nice here as well. Can't wait to come back again!

We have been to the Cerritos many times before and the food here at this location is a lot better. We got our food within 10 mins after we placed the order. Food was flavorful and delicious. Definitely will come back again! Friendly staff.

So happy there's now a pepper lunch in the area!!!! This one is located in Rodeo 39. The vibes are always fantastic here. Plenty of seating and lots of fun shops to browse. The stall is well staffed and has 2 self-ordering kiosks. The food is of course fantastic!!!! It's teppanyaki, par cooked food served on a sizzling plate for the customer to cook at their take. The smell is divine and the food keep hot for the entire meal. We ordered the beef and the salmon. Both are super delicious and flavorful. The servers are super attentive I think it's because they are super well staffed and the staff are super nice and knowledgeable. The beef plate was $13 and salmon plate was $15. Super reasonable compared to other stalls or just restaurants in general these days. Overall a fantastic experience and can't wait to come back!!
Just tried pepper lunch today in rodeo 39. I got the kimchi beef rice and it was really good. The staff were super nice and helpful especially because they are just opening. They seem very clean and hygienic so I hope they can keep it up as they continue their business operations. Overall, had a really good dining experience here. I was so happy to hear that Pepper Lunch had opened in Rodeo 39. I've been going to the one in Irvine and was so excited to try it here and was not disappointed! Me and my friend got the Beef Pepper Rice and Battered Fries and they were amazing! They were so hot, so fresh, and so yummy. But most of all, the service was AMAZING! Our server, Yassin, always checked up on our table and provided us with quick and efficient service. He also gave us water without us having to request it, and we had a satisfying experience overall. New Pepper Lunch inside Rodeo 39! Excellent and welcoming staff and service. Food came out quick. The friendly staff helped me choose the beef pepper rice. I enjoyed this location as the rice got crispy and the meat browned on their sizzling platter- just the way I like it! Flavor was good and not too salty My family tried other dishes and everyone enjoyed theirs. At the recommendation of the owner, got the yuzu cheesecake. Had no idea they served dessert! I love cheesecake and yuzu so it was a perfect combo! Cheesecake was light and tasty. Support local business This place is run by a local family. So fun to see the energy of the entire family work to build the American dream. It's in a food court/ goodies store. Very modern and clean. The building is very lively and positive energy. Staff is warm and friendly. This week was Soft opening but food was spot on and perfectly made. They were timely and freshly made. I got the burger and Steak curry plate. Wife got beef w rice. Both was flavorful and filling. I like the concept of the food being made. Through their clear window, you see the plate being assembled and plated. Cool to see the food being cooked on the hot plate. What an experience!!!! As a curry fan, this curry was very flavorful. What a great addition to Rodeo 39! Pepper Lunch is definitely one of the most popping vendors in this food hall, and it's no surprise. Their sizzling plates of rice and beef always look delicious and fresh! We were excited to finally try it ourselves. We ordered the original pepper beef rice plate for $13.99. It was good and definitely satisfied our cravings. The beef itself is good quality, and it gets a nice sear from the hot plate. However, the other ingredients - green onion, corn, and butter - are pretty basic. We were glad to try it out but probably will not get it again since we can easily recreate it at home. read more

Pepper Lunch opened in the Rodeo 39 food court. It's a popular Japanese teppanyaki franchise that serves steak and rice on a hot stone. (They have seafood options). Ordered the beef plate jumbo added egg for $1.99 more. It comes with sweet corn, green onion, butter and black pepper. Once you get the food highly recommended mixing the food so it cooks evenly. Add garlic soy sauce for a savory flavor and sweet brown if you prefer a sweeter flavor. Love that you have the option to add a variety of toppings! read more

I was so happy to find out that Pepper Lunch finally opened a location in Stanton at Rodeo 39! I really like how convenient the location is, especially since there are so many other things to check out in the food hall. I was a little sad when I came because they had run out of chicken, which is what I originally wanted to order. We ended up getting the beef instead, and it was still really good! The quality was great, everything came out fresh, and the service was nice as well. Overall, I had a good experience and would definitely come back--hopefully next time I can finally get the chicken! read more

I haven't been to Pepper Lunch in a long time and this meal really makes me wonder why I didn't come back sooner! I had the beef pepper rice and my wife had the salmon pepper rice. The iconic sizzling plates are really fun because you get to see the beef and mushrooms browning to your liking and you get to control how much everything cooks. But they also keep everything piping hot from first bite to last! IMO you have to add the garlic sauce at the table to really hit the spot: a dash to let the quality of ingredients take front and center or a bunch to really pump the flavor. Also the yuzu cheesecake is actually spectacular. Tart and not too sweet with really nice citrus flavor! The service is really great; all the servers are really attentive and nice, especially unexpected in a food hall! It's a fun and unexpected contrast to the laid back atmosphere of the food hall. Finally got to try Pepper Lunch's new location inside Rodeo 39 definitely lived up to the hype. The star of the meal was the beef. It was incredibly tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. Served on the signature sizzling hot plate, every bite was enhanced by the rich buttery sauce and freshly cracked pepper. There's something uniquely satisfying about mixing everything together while it continues to cook right in front of you, creating that perfect combination of texture, aroma, and flavor. One thing that pleasantly surprised me was the service. Even though Pepper Lunch is located inside a food court, it didn't feel like a typical food court experience. After placing your order, you're given a numbered table placard, and the staff personally bring the sizzling hot plate directly to your table. Receiving the meal fresh off the grill while it's still crackling and steaming definitely elevates the overall experience. What makes this location even better is being inside Rodeo 39. On a hot summer day, pairing the sizzling beef pepper rice with an ice-cold beer from one of the nearby vendors was incredibly refreshing. The contrast between the hot, savory beef and the cold beer made for the perfect lunch and was exactly what I needed to beat the summer heat. The atmosphere is casual, lively, and great for both a quick bite or a relaxed meal with friends. Between the quality of the food, the unique sizzling presentation, and the convenience of Rodeo 39's food hall environment, Pepper Lunch is a welcome addition to the OC dining scene. LOVE this place. The FOOD--We ordered the beef pepper rice with mushrooms, salmon pepper rice, and the kimchi beef pepper rice (not pictured). All were tasty but the kimchi was our favorite. It was super flavorful, a good amount of spicy, and fresh-just how I like it! The plates also keep the food hot the entire time which made for a really nice dining experience. The SERVICE- 10/10--food came out quick, we were offered water and refills, and generally felt welcome (which can be hard in a food hall). The VALUE--we were amazed by the value. This was my first time trying Pepper Lunch and it was amazing! This is a really cool location inside the rodeo 39 market. Service was great, staff were knowledgeable and helpful especially considering this place just opened. I tried the beef pepper rice and the garlic brisket. I'm a bit picky with my yakitori, but the meat quality was actually top notch and I love the concept of dishes getting served so fresh on a hot skillet. We got to walk it off browsing some of the nice shops in the market. Highly recommend checking out this location! read more

Restaurant is located toward the back, across from the brewery. It was my first time trying Pepper Lunch and I was not disappointed! I got their classic beef pepper rice and added veggies. The staff were super helpful and showed me how to properly mix the sizzling plate. I recommend getting their sweet potato fries and panko shrimp. They were perfectly crispy. I had a great experience at Pepper Lunch! I ordered the Beef Pepper Rice, and it was exactly what I was hoping for. The beef was tender, the rice was cooked perfectly, and mixing everything together on the hot sizzling plate made the meal both fun and delicious. This was my first time experiencing Pepper Lunch and it was phenomenal. Located in a really cool food hall, the food comes out very fast, and cooks on the skillet in front of you. My favorite was the Kimchi Beef Pepper Rice! Service was really fast and helpful with showing us how to easily cook the food on the hotplate in less than 2 minutes. Went to Pepper Lunch in Stanton with my girlfriend and had a great experience! Julia did an awesome job taking care of us and made sure we had everything we needed. Fast service, great food, and a really nice overall experience. Very chill vibes too. We'll definitely be back! read more

I usually love this place- however, I door dashed just now and when I opened my bowl and mixed the sauce in, I was shocked to find a long, curly, dark hair in it. I already filed a report with doordash and threw the food away with the hair (I took photos but they're gone now with the report) but I just wanted to come here and leave a review to make sure that proper safety preparation measures are being taken for future customers. read more

I have been to Pepper lunch in the Bay Area, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, and this pepper lunch is just as yummy as the branches in Asia! The rice was crispy on the stone grill, meat quality was very high and just overall delicious. The service was also very good and attentive. The location is also in a fun spot with lots of other entertainment venues like bars, and photo booths. It's a fun area to spend a few hours with your friends or family. read more

It was wonderful to be second (2nd) in line at 5:31 am, Saturday, August 8, 2026 for the Pepper Lunch Grand Opening at the Rodeo 39 Public Market in Stanton, California, USA. Event started at 11:00 am. I had the complimentary beef pepper rice. It was sizzling good and tasted delicious. The staff were attentive and friendly. Rodeo 39 is a foodie's go to place for a variety of choices and the place has a nice chill vibe. There was a ribbon cutting, DJ Jason playing some hip music and prizes too. I got to meet Peppie their official mascot and got a small Peppie stuff toy key chain as a welcome gift. I highly recommend this newest restaurant if you are in the Stanton area. read more
