I visited Pepper Lunch today and I had a great experience in terms of both the food and service! THE PEOPLE: The whole staff were incredibly welcoming and helped answer questions I had about the menu and checked in to make sure everything was okay once I received my meal. I could definitely sense their enthusiasm for Pepper Lunch and being part of a team of delivering high quality customer service. THE FOOD: I am vegetarian so I chose to order the tofu and veggie pepper rice. I will say that it did have a stand out amount of pepper. Personally I loved it because I love pepper, but if you aren't the biggest fan you might want to ask for less pepper. The food was served on a skillet so it was nice that the food stayed warm. THE LOGISTICS: There was ample space for parking and to sit down since Pepper Lunch is located within the Rodeo 39 space. The menu was displayed on screens and the ordering kiosk was easy to navigate. Overall, I had a great experience and am looking forward to visiting again soon :)) read more

So glad we got to try it again in Rodeo 39. The meat to rice ratio is very fair and the different combos offer something for everyone in your group. The service was sooooo good. Everyone was so friendly and so helpful being that it was my first time there. My husband and I ended up getting the jumbo beef pepper rice and holy sizzle!!! It was soooo fresh and clean - I honestly didn't expect that at all. No heavy sauces but they do have sauce on the side if you want it and damn that was fire too lol not heavy at all. It was perfect. And omg the service was sooooo quick I was impressed. They even mixed my bowl for me I'm definitely becoming a regular here. It's also in rodeo 39 so there's PLENTY of seating. Such a fun casual place to hang out with family and friends while enjoying a really good meal. Haven't been to Pepper Lunch in a while but it was just as delicious as I remembered. I got the Beef Pepper Rice and added an egg, the sizzling hot plate was great because it kept the food hot all the way until my last bite. I also got the Tractor Strawberry Dragonfruit drink, it was light and refreshing. Just what I was looking for on a hot summer day. The food came out sizzling hot and prepared perfectly. The beef was seasoned well and the curry on the side was the perfect addition to the plate. I got mine with an egg on the side and that enhanced my plate another notch. This is their newest location at Rodeo39 and I think it's the perfect spot for them. The staff was friendly and kept checking on us to make sure we had everything we needed. One of the staff let us try their Yuzu cheesecake and that was delicious. We went for their grand opening and unfortunately had a pretty bad experience. Once we ordered the worker told us that we could sit anywhere and an employee will find our number once the order is ready. Something to note is that people were getting their food extremely fast as it's just a few ingredients and semi-cooked meet. 15 minutes went past and my boyfriend went to let a worker know where we were sitting since there were no seats next to the store. They said okay, your order isn't ready. No worries so we sat for another 20 mins. I took matters into my own hands and as I walked to the counter I saw that the party in front of us had already finished their meal. I asked the manager to check on the order and she said that the workers couldn't find our table so they gave it to someone else. I pointed to where we were seated then an employee brought our one plate. We sat for another 10 mins then I had to walk over and remind them that we had two plates in our order. A different manager was nice enough to change out the first plate for us as it was already cold. I understand that things like this happen, but instead of telling guests that they can sit anywhere, they should say please sit in the area around the store. Honestly, don't know what all the hype is. Maybe my expectations were too high based on all the reviews. I was excited to try the beef aglio olio pasta but unfortunately, was not impressed. My friend who ordered the same thing agreed. The service was nice, she was very helpful and even helped me cook my plate. But I wasn't full after the meal and had to add a ton of the sweet sauce.
