So yummy! Glad I was able to visit the Crawfish Hut before the end of crawfish season. As others have said, this spot is in the same plaza as Rodeo 39 but parking isn't too difficult to come by. The restaurant itself is clean and service is friendly and speedy. Plenty of TVs for entertainment or sports-watching while eating. I usually like to sit inside and enjoy my seafood boils, but this time I got mine to-go so I could sit outside and enjoy the weather. There's a to-go order screen at the front of the restaurant. I got 1 lb of fresh crawfish with hut special sauce, mild spiciness, and corn. My order was ready pretty fast. The crawfish was so delicious and there was lots of sauce for dipping. They had some really big guys too which is always a plus. I like this spot, so I'll be back the next time I'm craving a seafood boil. read more

I've never had shrimp boil served like this before. I requested for headless shrimp and it was served deveined and almost like butterfly cut so the shrimp skin practically slides off. I also ordered the egg fried rice and it was made properly. It's hard to find places that make their fried rice the right way. Only note would be that the restroom's cleanliness was a bit lacking and it's an individual-use restroom. Would recommend that they get a community sink outside of the restroom for easier access. Other than that, I can't complain. The price point is fair. Most definitely will come back. read more

The quality of this restaurant has really gone down. We've been dinning here for years, since they first opened. When they first opened, everything is delicious. They were generous on the garlic, condiments and flavors. Now (last week) they've cut corner on everything. For a party of 6, they gave us exactly 6 lemon wedges. We ordered 4 lbs of clams, but it seems like they give us more shells than whole (there weren't much clam meats fallen on the bottom of the bag). Our bill was over $200 and we walked out still feeling hungry and got snacks inside the complex... I'm sad this restaurant is victim of our poor economy. They definitely raised the prices, but lower the quality. We really loved coming here, but after our last few experiences, we probably won't be returning. This is my go-to seafood boil spot in OC! It's located in the same plaza as Rodeo 39 so parking can be a hassle, but there's never been a wait when I go despite how good it is. The workers are always really friendly and efficient. It's pretty spacious inside with lots of booths and tables. I usually get the Combo 1 with mild spice and their hut special sauce, which is a combination of all their sauces, and the cod basket with cajun fries. The seafood boil is super flavorful and not just butter like some other places. The best part about their seafood boil is how fresh and huge the seafood is! Even when we get frozen crawfish because the fresh ones are out of season, they are HUGE and taste great. The clams are also huge and soak up the sauce super well, and the shrimp aren't overcooked and mushy which is nice. I wish the combos came with more toppings, but we paid extra for potato and sausage, which were both worth it! We also tried their cod basket that came with fries of our choice, and we went with cajun fries. The fish tasted fresh and there was a perfect ratio of crispy batter. Insane seafood boil spot! Been going here since they opened a little over a year ago and so glad to see there's a lot of customers now - they deserve it! We ordered 2 pounds of the fresh crawfish, 1 pound of the green mussels, and 1 pound of head on shrimp all with the amazing hut special mild sauce and a side of popcorn chicken gizzard. I'm so lucky that I live 10 minutes away from Rodeo 39. There are so many great restaurants and The Crawfish Hut is on the top of the list! I'm honestly surprised that this place isn't filled up. We order 3 pounds of shrimp, Hut Special, Mild or Medium Spicy (depending on the day). Wow. The flavors are delicious! Super addicting. It's to the point that I order an the 12oz on the side for more dipping possibilities! I realized I don't have any photos of the food because we dive in right away. I'll make sure to take another photo, I'm sure it'll be soon lol Service is excellent, we have yet to dine in, however we do take it to-go. They offer the paper to put ontop of table occasionally. Definitely gotta try their house special sauce - buttery, tons of fresh garlic, slightly sweet, savory, goes really well with everything that's in the bag! We got clams, snow crab cluster, shrimp and corn. Also ordered half a dozen of oysters and the garlic noodles with shrimp. Clams and shrimp tasted plump and fresh. Oysters were briny and fresh, not as creamy as I hoped. The snow crab didn't have much flavor kinda like old frozen seafood to me. The garlic noodles were the biggest let down where the noodles were cooked for too long, and it wasn't garlicky and buttery enough. I appreciate the addition of some veg in the noodle dish. Celery was an interesting choice... it might be better with asparagus instead. The shrimp there lacked flavor so we just threw them in our seafood boil bag with the sauce. We also would like to have the option of a side order of garlic noodles instead of a whole entree with an entree price. Not too happy about that. Service was good. He gave us what we asked for but don't quite come and refill our water proactively. The space was big with lots of tables, definitely can accommodate big groups. The special hut sauce for the crawfish and clams, whether hot or mild, is no longer the same as when the restaurant first opened or even compared to last year. It's now overly salty and drenched in buttery oil, which was very disappointing. I also ordered both the fresh live crawfish and the jumbo crawfish, but honestly, the fresh crawfish tasted no different from the frozen jumbo ones. The meat from the live crawfish lacked the natural sweetness and freshness you would normally expect, especially with the non-spicy sauce. There was no distinct flavor that justified ordering the fresh option. The codfish was also bland, with no seasoning on the meat, and the bread was extremely oily and greasy. The crab garlic noodles were another major letdown. The crab itself was excessively salty, and the noodles lacked the rich, garlicky, creamy flavor they used to have -- instead, everything just tasted overwhelmingly salty. The food itself was tasty, not overly salty or drenched in sauce, but it was really oily. Like, tasty oily. But still super oily. We got three lobster tails, a package deal, fries, calamari, and linguine, which came out to about $170 after tip and tax. For three people, that felt like a stretch, especially since I could have easily eaten another two or three pounds of shrimp. The garlic bits were delicious, but I honestly felt kind of heavy after the meal. Service was kind and patient, but there were not many hands on deck, so things took a bit longer. Honestly one of the best seafood boil i've had! My boyfriend and I shared the combo 1 with hut special sauce mild and an order of the popcorn chicken gizzard. The servers were super helpful and told me that the hut special sauce was a little sweeter than a regular cajun seafood boil. I was a bit skeptical at first but it was AMAZING! There was groovy, chill music playing in the background with big TVs all around next to plenty of tables! The menu has variety of items from seafood to fried food baskets & free refills on their drinks! You can choose to order pounds separately or choose one of their affordable combos. We ordered combo #3 w/ shrimp, crawfish, & snow crab but we added extra crawfish pound & garlic noodles! Unfortunately, theres no alcohol here for drinkers but it's so delicious you'll forget about it. The strawberry lemonade was super sweet & they took it off the check as a gift aww. So sad that there's no great place for live crawfish around me (if anyone has tried one that they like, PLEASE let me know!). 1. This is my go to seafood boil spot! There isn't usually a wait, and the servers are all very attentive, welcoming, and helpful. Food usually comes out somewhat quickly unless they are busy, but it never takes super long. We always get their Hut Special sauce, which is a combination of all their sauces. Whenever I'm on a budget, me and my boyfriend just share a pound of mussels, with 1 add on of potato and 2 add ons of sausage, and that always gets us full. I will say it is a bit pricey here, but it's slightly cheaper than other places and definitely cheaper than bigger chains like Boiling Crab or Kickin Crab, which don't offer combo deals like Crawfish Hut does. The restaurant itself is really clean and decorative! They have happy hour until 5pm on the weekdays, but as soon as it hits 5pm it ends. There are some decent deals there as well. My only complaint is that a couple times we've been here, we ordered mild sauce but the sauce we got was pretty SPICY. My boyfriend doesn't do good with spice which made it hard to enjoy, even for me. This has probably happened like 3 out of our 7-8 visits. read more

We came on a Friday evening, and it wasn't too crowded around 5:30 p.m. but got a little more crowded as the evening went on. I got the head on shrimp with the "Hut Special" sauce which is a combination of the Classic Cajun and Garlic Butter sauces. The taste is on the sweeter side compared to other seafood boil places. I got non-spicy since our server mentioned that even the mild spice level has a kick to it. I tried some of the mild sauce, and it wasn't too bad! They provide you with a bib, plastic gloves, plates, lemons, a small cup of salt and pepper mix, and a pair of scissors. The bag comes in a big metal bowl, so you can empty it out to make it a little easier to eat if you want! Staff is friendly and attentive! read more

The clams were the BIGGEST CLAMS I've come across in a seafood boil since 2018. Sometimes you order clams and you can't tell the clams from the chunky sauce because they're so shriveled. Huuge juicy meaty clams, omg it was so exciting. The jumbo shrimp is definitely jumbo, and they were all springy and delicious (not mushy). The corn was juicy and not chewy/hard. The crawfish, I will say, was not the freshest crawfish I've had so I won't rave about it, but it was still very good. I got the spiciest level and she was definitely spicier than Boiling Crab's XXX. They let me pick 2 sauces for my calamari without charging me for the extra?? I know I know, such a small gesture but 10/10, will be coming back in a few weeks for sure. Met up with one of my best girl friends for dinner last night at this restaurant. She's been craving seafood boil. It's been popping up a lot on social media and on Yelp. This restaurant allows you to make a reservation on Yelp and as well as join their waitlist. Since it was a Friday night, I went ahead and made a reservation for two at 7pm. When I arrived, the restaurant is in the same center as Rodeo39. If you are not familiar with this place, I recommend arriving early to find parking. There's also additional parking behind Rodeo39. Since I made a reservation, I received a text to approach the host to let them know I'm here. It was 15 mins before 7pm. The host was really nice and she sat us right away. The waiter came by and welcomed my bff and I. Since it was our first time, he talked about the menu and our options. I believe his name was Phat. Great waiter! Oh! They don't serve alcohol, but you can go to the bar inside Rodeo39, order & pay for drinks there and bring it back to the restaurant. The food was pretty good. My 2lbs crawfish were fresh and full of flavor. For spice, I did the hut special mild, garlic Parmesan fries, and one bread to dip into the delicious sauce! It's great for everybody! They have TVs on the walls that were playing sports. Overall, great experience and would go back again. read more

I live nearby and seeing that this place is relatively new, I had to try it. The restaurant is spacious and clean. Walking in I was immediately greeted, offered a menu, and seated. The server was kind and explained the menu well. We were recommended the hut special sauce which is a mix of their classic Cajun and garlic butter sauce. We ordered combo 1. My cousin and I were putting on the gloves and one girl noticed that it was too small and brought us two new bigger pairs. Our food came out super quick, we got 2 pounds of fresh crawfish and 2 pounds of shrimp, they both came with corn and we added potatoes.
