This is an unfair rating for this place but a fair review for my experience. I do not eat seafood. But I was with friends who insisted we come here as they wanted to eat at a seafood boil bag place. They told me there were non-seafood items I could enjoy. The interior is large with tons of seating. We came at lunchtime on a weekday and it was pretty quiet. We were served a complimentary basket of Cajun fries which were okay. The only non-seafood items were chicken wings or tenders. I went with the tenders. Plus a bottle of root beer. The tenders were okay. A little dry. I think there were five or six. They provided a small container of ranch for dipping which I ran out of before finishing. Our waiter was nowhere to be seen otherwise I'd have asked for more. My friends really enjoyed their seafood. My tenders were, at best, just "okay". I know it's not fair to rate a seafood boil place for chicken tenders but that's the hand I was dealt. read more

Got influenced by Instagram to check this place out. We got the raising crave bucket which we later found out to be $240.... We were offered complementary Cajun fries which were undercooked, not very fresh and had little to no seasoning. The lobster was overcooked and chewy which was very disappointing. The sauce was okay nothing worth coming back for and lacked some seasoning. Restrooms were disgusting each stall in the women's bathroom was unkept and gross. They don't have the sinks like claws or kickin crab to wash your hands at you have to go into the bathroom. There's only one server that was tending to 4 other tables and occasionally checked in. Don't let them convince you they have live crawfish because they don't. We asked multiple times over the phone and in restaurant and our server assured us it was live. After eating, it was clear the crawfish was frozen. When asked to see a live crawfish from the kitchen to confirm it was live as they said, they further proved our point when we were brought a frozen crawfish in a cup. Our out-of-town family was so excited for a boil bag. Ordered for pickup, 2 clusters of snow crab, sausage, corn, potato with raising Cajun seasoning at medium spice. We also got a pound of shelled shrimp, could not order a half pound, just a full pound. 7 minutes till it was ready, we were on the way, and it worked out perfectly. Here is the problem I have. My sister in law paid 107 dollars for the meal. The boil bag had 1 half corn cob and 3 potatoes, along with the 2 clusters of crab. We never got the sausage that was asked for, and I guarantee was charged for. That is not a good value at all in my opinion, not even a full corn! The flavor was good, seafood tasted fresh. King crab legs, Snow crab legs, dungeness crab, shrimp, clams, potoato, egg, and I think sausage. Total splurging for two people. Second time, we ate there, we got free ice cream. Service was great and the place is spacious. We ordered shrimp and a cluster of snow crab legs (wasn't enough crab). We tried to get dungeness crab but they didn't have any. Crab is so expensive! Saw this on IG and decided to come check out the hype. I made reservations prior to going there on a Saturday at 1PM. But it definitely was not needed, as there was only 1 other family in there. It wasn't her fault that they were lacking so many things -- Hand to forehead. First. They didn't have any diet soda. But it was on their menu... strike one. Then , I ordered a side of garlic butter... but she came back and said they ran out.. which I thought was odd considering they had melted butter and there was a sh*t load of garlic in my Ragin' Cajun sauce! Lol. I let all of that slide because the Ragin' Cajun sauce was BOMB. I literally took the garlic from their and threw it in my melted butter - like c'mon. Sorry, I'll stop now. Anyways we ordered king crab, dungeons crab, and because we spent over $85, we got a free bucket of shrimp. After we ordered, we overheard the waitress tell the other table that there was an all you can eat menu for $35.... Um, how come she didn't offer it to us? Doesn't matter tho... we enjoyed the crab. Came here 3 times for their BOGO deal that ended on 11/21/21; dined in once and got takeout 2 times. I really hope that they thrive even after the BOGO deal has ended. I see that they have a lot of TVs throughout the room, so I can see this place being popular for sports fans. I didn't see any alcohol at the establishment the times that I went, but I feel like if they had a bar to serve the alcohol, it would garner more customers. They do have a lot of appetizers that go well with alcohol if people don't want to get down and messy with the seafood. I would have to say that my first takeout experience was probably the best experience I had. Food came out promptly, and they remembered to add in the paper used to cover the table and the aprons in our takeout order. It was very thoughtful of them as it made the clean up much easier. The 2nd time we got takeout, I was kind of disappointed that both the paper and aprons were not in the bag. Unfortunately, my family who picked up the order did not check the order until they arrived home so we couldn't ask for it. While it's not a big minus, the service and thoughtfulness was indeed different from the first time. Even when I dined in, I had to ask for the aprons. It would also help if the establishment could provide those small individual wet wipes like how Boiling Crab does as it does reduce the amount of napkins used. || L O C A T I O N / P A R K I N G|| -Located on Harbor Blvd. between Garden Grove Blvd. and Trask Ave. Very close to the 22 freeway -Huge parking lot. It's been relatively empty the times that I've gone. -I recommend entering and exiting the establishment using the stop light in front of the Dollar Tree as there are many cars that go on this street to enter the 22 freeway. || F O O D || - Prices as of 11/21/21 Head on Shrimp ($18/lb) - These shrimps are ginormous! I do find that sometimes the shrimp is cooked just right, or it might be slightly overcooked, but it overall does not bother me too much. I've had this with Garlic Butter with mild spiciness. They put so much garlic in there, it's like garlic heaven. Since it was mild spiciness, there wasn't really a strong flavor to it. I'd recommend Garlic Butter for those that cannot handle any spiciness. The Raising Style at spicy level is the most balanced flavor in my opinion, not overly spicy but still lots of flavor. If you want something super spicy, go for the Lemon Pepper with spicy level. That combination would give a strong kick to your seafood. Crawfish ($18/lb) - Sizes of the crawfish aren't as consistent as the sizes of the shrimp. Since crawfish does have a thicker shell, I'd recommend getting a heavier flavor such as the raising style with the spicy level so you get more flavor. Calamari Basket ($10.99) - I was pleasantly surprised by this! I love the choice of shoestring fries, and how soft and chewy the calamari is. Do note that it's not really flavored so you'll have to rely on sauces if you want that extra flavor. Crab Garlic Noodles ($14.99) - Tastes a bit different than the garlic noodles you would get at like Vox Kitchen. I feel like the garlic flavor could be a tad stronger though. I'm not sure if I'd reorder unless the recipe were improved. For the price, I'd rather stick to the seafood boil items or the fried baskets. read more

Saw x3hoppie's story on this place and decided to stop by. My friend and I came by tonight close to closing. The staff were very kind and the restaurant looked cool. There were literally soooo many TVs! This would be a great spot for a game or fight night! Too bad I didn't see a bar so I'm assuming they don't have their liquor license yet. Apparently tonight was the last night they were having their bogo deal. Bogo deal was only for; mussels, crawfish, shrimp, clams, and snow crab. They allowed us to mix and match so we ordered clams and got the crawdads for free ( you pay the higher paying item). We thought we were ordering a pound of snow crabs but it was buy one cluster get a cluster free ($25.99/CLUSTER). Kinda pricey. Typically get a pound for about $30ish. When the bag came out, it definitely did not look like we got a pound each of the crawdads or clams. Both were NOT fresh. Crawdads were soo dry and definitely refrozen after cooked. So dry and smelled old. The clams were pathetic. Shriveled up meat and no juice. Majority of the clams were closed. Not a good sign. To my surprise the snow crab was very good. Very juicy and meaty! Cooked perfectly. Raisin Style Sauce was great. Very buttery and had large chunks of garlic. Not too salty and not too sweet. Garlic Crab Noodles weren't too bad. Tasted like e-mien noodles sautéed and topped with a bit of Parmesan and garlic, with a generous portion of cracked crab claws. Had more of an Asian take to it versus buttery garlic noodles. Overall I probably wouldn't come until a while from now just so that I could see if they change the quality of their seafood. Their service was great, but not good enough to outweigh expensive low quality seafood. Only would suggest the snow crab.... Best of luck Raisin Crab, there is lots of potential! We went in around dinner time on Sunday and we got seated right away, there wasn't a lot of people in the restaurant anyways. The theming is cute there's pieces of a ship towards the front and in the back of the restaurant with table in the middle. A lot of the table have stools instead of normal chairs. We ordered two beers (which were both $5) and they're having a promotion right now where you get free fries with your meal. We have visited Raising Claw many times and each time we dine here it just seems to gets better! To start, our server Tim was so attentive. As he took our order he listened attentively and was careful to make sure he clarified our order. Tim offered us complimentary fries that were perfectly crisp and flavorful. But that was just the beginning, the cornmeal battered catfish had the perfect amount of crunch! But when the bag of shrimp and lobster arrived we were amazing by the amount and freshness of the seafood. Every piece was perfectly coated with the medium spice sauce. All the sides complimented the seafood perfectly! The rice, corn, potatoes and especially hard boiled eggs paired beautifully. It seems like this place recently opened up though. They were completely unprepared for indoor service and missing a lot of items. I asked for limes, snow crab, bibs, drinks, utensils to crack with and they had none of them or ran out. Poorly prepared and it seems like they were understaffed with 2 waiters, 1 that was working only for a day. I was shocked that they didn't have any utensils to open the crab with. I had to use my hands and ended up with cuts all over my fingers which does not work well with spicy sauce. Overall can't complain about the flavor and food was great. I wasn't happy that they ran out of the snow crab legs cause then i had to get the more expensive king crab legs which was almost $80. I am huge fan of Boiling Crab type food and have tried pretty much all the restaurant of that type in SoCal. Decided to give this place a try because it is just few blocks away from my home. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed. Both the shrimp and crawfish (live) was nice and big but both was more on the dry side. There was decent amount of sauce in the bags but when I 'suck' the heads on both items, 90% of the heads were dry. I am hoping it was due to them being new and still trying to workout the kinks. I will give them one more try in a couple weeks and increase the stars if the quality of the food improves. The clams was good. No issues there. Overall, nothing beats Boiling Crab's sauce, it is still the gold standard for this type of food but if the wait is too long, this might be an option for you. As of Oct 28, the market price for shrimp and live crawfish was $18 and change per pound. Clams were $14 and change. It's a bit on the high side since Boiling Crab is $15.99 per pound for shrimp and live crawfish and clams were $11.99. Staff was friendly and attentive. read more

Shrimp and mussels were fresh and the sauce was spicy, garlicky, and overall flavorful (I would compare it to whole shabang medium). We LOVED the fries but the rice could have been fluffier. Vibes and Service -- It's still too new to tell and we came very late, so we didn't get the full experience but my husband really like the house music they played. Okay here we go. Coming to you live, exactly 18 hours post meal. Let's start with the good and we will get into the nitty gritty. To start, I found this place on instagram last year and have wanted to visit since. If you look at the meal on paper, it looks and tastes great. Their crawfish, crab, seasoning, and fries are all delicious. We enjoyed the food with a bucket of beer. The beer is fairly priced at $5 per or $25 for 6. We came in as a party of 5 and we ordered two seafood bags, chicken wings, and a bucket of modelos. We were all high on our horses during the meal, but were innocent for the storm brewing.. This storm was not for the faint of heart.. it was a storm of darkness, dollars and certain doom. Their menu has "MP" next to every bag they offer. Sure, one might expect a hefty price tag, but not a $600 one, straight to the face. When I say we paid for this meal, it wasn't strictly financial. I have been living on my toilet the last 18 hours of my life. The price tag stung and so does my bhole. I am trying to see the light at the end of this tunnel. sos. I want to give a 5 star review because going down, the food was beautiful. Looking back on my time there, it might make sense as to why there were so many empty tables. I came here craving crab. They have a simple and small menu. Some of the buckets have multiple types of crab. And you get quite a bit. The restaurant is kind of small for a crab place compared to some of the other crab shacks I've been to, it's pretty well lit, and overall seems like a good dining environment. The server was quite friendly, was able to get everything ordered and checked on me quite a few times. The food came out pretty quickly and was overall very good. I felt like I got quite a bit of crab and everything tasted wonderful. I would've given this place an average four stars, if not for an egregious mistake on their part. They need better organization, and knowledge of which customers are still dining and which customers have paid and left. When I left to go to the bathroom to clean my hands the Busser started cleaning my table when more than half of my food was still there. I even left my cell phone sitting there to indicate I was still dining. And rather than only picking up dirty plates, the upturned my fries and calamari into the crab shells, dirty napkins, and open sauces. Basically mixing all of the food. I was still eating with the trash. And when they realize I was still dining they just left it there, a mess instead of picking up what was thrown into the trash. I paid over $200 for this meal, and to have people try to throw away my food before I'm done is quite upsetting. I still had a whole Dungeness crab untouched along with almost all of my sausages, muscles, and clams untouched. If I came any later, they would've tossed all of that out or contaminated it with trash. Additionally, why would they think I had left if I have not paid yet? They give you rock lobster. Very meaty and satisfying to chew. I got the Cajun flavor. Enjoyable, but I feel like it is a bit strong. I did not like the sausage. The sausage smelled pungent and was too strong in flavor. I really enjoyed the extra butter and sauce that I ordered. You had to pay extra but it was worth it. Very satisfying to dip.
