    chicken tenders & root beer
    Timmy S.

This is an unfair rating for this place but a fair review for my experience. I do not eat seafood. But I was with friends who insisted we come here as they wanted to eat at a seafood boil bag place. They told me there were non-seafood items I could enjoy. The interior is large with tons of seating. We came at lunchtime on a weekday and it was pretty quiet. We were served a complimentary basket of Cajun fries which were okay. The only non-seafood items were chicken wings or tenders. I went with the tenders. Plus a bottle of root beer. The tenders were okay. A little dry. I think there were five or six. They provided a small container of ranch for dipping which I ran out of before finishing. Our waiter was nowhere to be seen otherwise I'd have asked for more. My friends really enjoyed their seafood. My tenders were, at best, just "okay". I know it's not fair to rate a seafood boil place for chicken tenders but that's the hand I was dealt.

    So good!

This is our favorite seafood restaurant. The seafood is fresh, the proprietary Raisin' Cajun flavoring is tasty, and the portions are generous and filling. If you enjoy a bag full of deliciousness, this is the place to go.

    This is looking good!

Got influenced by Instagram to check this place out. We got the raising crave bucket which we later found out to be $240.... We were offered complementary Cajun fries which were undercooked, not very fresh and had little to no seasoning. The lobster was overcooked and chewy which was very disappointing. The sauce was okay nothing worth coming back for and lacked some seasoning. Restrooms were disgusting each stall in the women's bathroom was unkept and gross. They don't have the sinks like claws or kickin crab to wash your hands at you have to go into the bathroom. There's only one server that was tending to 4 other tables and occasionally checked in. Overall not that great of an experience

We asked to see a live crawfish wtf is this!?

Don't let them convince you they have live crawfish because they don't. We asked multiple times over the phone and in restaurant and our server assured us it was live. After eating, it was clear the crawfish was frozen. When asked to see a live crawfish from the kitchen to confirm it was live as they said, they further proved our point when we were brought a frozen crawfish in a cup. All our server could say was "This is what the kitchen gave me" and couldn't explain why we were lied to. Don't recommend the false advertisement and unprofessionalism.

Delicious seafood boil. First time, we ordered a big boil for like $250. It was so yummy. We seasoned it with their seasoning they recommended. King crab legs, Snow crab legs, dungeness crab, shrimp, clams, potoato, egg, and I think sausage. Total splurging for two people. Second time, we ate there, we got free ice cream. Service was great and the place is spacious. We ordered shrimp and a cluster of snow crab legs (wasn't enough crab). We tried to get dungeness crab but they didn't have any. Crab is so expensive! Not cheap but to treat yourself every once in a while, it's fantastic.

Food-- WHEWWWWWW let's start off by saying this food was PHENOMENAL! My food was hot and tasteful, just perfect. Ordered the bucket added on crab legs and 1 egg. Got raisin cajun sauce mild. This satisfied my craving. LOVED LOVED this place, esp being from out of town I found this place on a YouTube review. Service-- Shout out to Kevin! He was an amazing server from beginning to end. He was soooo attentive to our needs and overal just helpful. He provided wonderful service. You're appreciated Kevin! The complimentary ice cream and fries were appreciated so yummy! Ambiance-- The place is cute just simple no extra stuff. I love the lights outside the front door. I like the ship looking ambiance it gave. I definitely recommend this place to locals and people of town.

I have a bone to pick about the personal appearance of the employees at this establishment. I saw that the guys working at this establishment failed to tuck their shirts in. I consider that to be highly unprofessional so I am deducting one point as this is something I am OCD about. I was glad to see Pepsi was available though I didn't have any this visit and I was happy to learn that refills are free. If I was to assign a letter grade as is done in school, this establishment would get a solid B.

One of the biggest things for me is the space. When you're playing pool, you actually have room to move around unlike a lot of bars where you feel cramped. I also like that they have full size pool tables. Since I'm a bit taller, it just makes the whole experience of playing pool that much better. There's regular events and even a pool league on Tuesday nights, so there's always something going on. If you are not familiar with Garden Grove, this place is definitely a hidden gem. The food is top notch, but honestly the ambiance is what sets it apart from your average billiards bar. It is extremely clean, which is important to me, and there's plenty of space between you and other people whether you are playing pool or sitting down to eat. It really does feel like a playground for adults in the best way. I also like that it is family friendly. There's large tables that are perfect for crab boils and similar meals where they lay down wax paper and everyone can sit together and enjoy. When I was there, there was a group of kids celebrating a birthday, and at the same time there were adults playing pool and hanging out. The place is so big that it almost feels like there's separate areas for kids and adults, but it is all in one space and you do not even notice each other. That's how spacious it is. I have been here on Sunday afternoons, Tuesday evenings, and Friday nights, and it is always busy with great energy. The music selection is great too. And this next part is insane to me since I'm a huge fan of famous pool players. The legendary GOAT Efren Reyes is going to be there on April 26th playing pool and interacting with fans. I saw the flyer on the wall and immediately grabbed VIP tickets. I'll be lucky enough to say hi to him up close from the VIP section and watch him work his magic in person, which is just unreal to me. Definitely check out the Wharf, you won't regret it.

I am honestly conflicted which it angers me because of how I LOVE fish n chips but something of how I was served was just... plain! There was no flavor and even bits of the fried batter just falls off. The tartar sauce is really more of a lifeguard than a star, that it saves the fried fish of being just bad, it's not optional, IT'S REQUIRED. Now for the single jumbo shrimp... I saved it for last as the cherry on top, but even that fell short, the shrimp was too tough, as if overcooked, but I'll give benefit of the doubt as honestly frying shrimp while keeping the shrimp itself tender is a challenge on its own. The chips (french fries) are negligible, it's fried well... had to salt it but that is entirely up to the consumer preference (which cannot be the same for fried fish). Now in terms of pricing, it's fairly steep, but when you account for the fries and drink... or sorta evens out? They do give you above average sized fishes so you're not getting skimped out here. The person who took my order seemed very positive and really gave me the reassurance that the food is gonna be great! Which I give benefit of the doubt that maybe I just got the wrong batter. Their vendor is old school cabin looking, it's rather nice, I'm not a drinker but they seems to have a good variety of alcoholic beverages. Oh but speaking of beverages, they mention that their sodas are off brand, so the off taste is negligible for me. Overall, it's an okay spot to grab fried fish n chips but they could be better, I'll probably come back to see if I would have more clarity.

We stopped by here on my birthday for a nice evening dinner. Got there a little before sunset. There's just something magical about eating outside during a sunset, especially at the Orange Plaza. The restaurant has such a cool look and vibe! We started off with the Hamachi crudo, salmon ceviche, and a bowl of clam "chowdah". The crudo was absolutely delicious, highly recommend. The salmon ceviche was really good but a bit heavy on the sauce for me. The clam chowder had whole clams in the shell throughout. That was fun to pick them out! For entrees we got the lean and mean plate with sea bass. It comes with salad and rice, we substituted the rice for black beans. We also got the skirt steak "bulgogi" which was served on top of mushrooms and bok choy with a sweet soy sauce. They accidentally brought out salmon instead of sea bass, but were very apologetic. They brought out a sea bass on the side and comped the entree to make up for it. Great service right there! The salmon and seabass were both delicious and cooked perfectly. The steak was tender and juicy, full of flavor. As a birthday gift they brought out a thai milk tea blondie sundae which was soooo good! Get it if you like sweets. I wish the owners all the best in their future endeavors, they created a great restaurant that many will miss. I wish they pushed the lobster down into the roll a little more instead of stacking it on top to make it look fuller because it made it a lot harder to eat. The side salad was okay. I liked the clam chowder a lot. Fries and tater tots were perfectly crispy! Flaming hot lobster fries ($25): This feels a bit overpriced for what it is and kind of lackluster.
