Quick and friendly service. The drinks were definitely the favorites of the entire order. My personal favorite was the banana latte (fresh banana in the drink, not just some fake syrup!) and the Oreo Latte was nice and rich. The food was fresh and light, the BBQ pork was different than your typical Vietnamese marinade, it was sweeter. For the sweets, the espresso cookie was great. Small shop with plenty of parking and cute interior. There's currently a 2-for-1 special, so we ordered the Combo Banh Mi, BBQ Pork Banh Mi, and Pho Beef Banh Mi. Also ordered the Brown Sugar Milk Tea with boba and the Lychee Jasmine Tea with lychee jelly. I mainly came for the drinks, but I did sample the BBQ Pork Banh Mi and the Pho Beef Banh Mi. I personally wasn't a fan of the Pho Beef Banh Mi - the meat was charred so that it was like charred brisket, and I found the smokiness didn't really pair well with the sweetness of the broth that was on the side. I did enjoy the ingredients in the BBQ Pork Banh Mi - the sweet and tender pork greatly contrasted the herbs and pickled vegetables. The Brown Sugar Milk Tea was exactly how you imagined it to be, but the boba was a bit undercooked. They also forgot to add the lychee jelly to my Lychee Jasmine Tea. Despite this, service was quick. I was on my way to Northgate and realized that this place has been on my feed in my Instagram for a while. I saw a Bogo buy two get one free of the same item so I decided to stop by for their sandwich. The place is quite and small very clean looks pretty new. I got three of the same Combo sandwiches and the whole entire bill came out to be about $18 with tax. This makes it about six dollars each which isn't bad but it isn't great considering the size of the sandwich. It was fairly empty for the most part other than one customer and the employees are helpful. The portion size is smaller than most, but the meat and the flavor was on point. I have actually never had a bahn mi but my bf really wanted to try this place. We both got the pho beef bahn mi and it was pretty good but more veggie forward. A couple days later we wanted to come back and try another one so we ordered the au jus beef bahn mi and omg I would keep coming back for this one alone!! I also really liked the brown sugar boba. Finally got to try this bánh mì spot, and it definitely lived up to the hype. Their top seller is the steak au jus bánh mì, and I can see why. The beef was so savory and satisfying. The au jus was packed full of flavor and really took the sandwich to the next level. I'm a big fan of a classic pâté, and they had a really nice version. Solid banh mi's at reasonable prices -- Boban's where it's at! I'm a banh mi lover so whenever I see that spot offers banh mi's I've got to get it! I've tried their combo cha, roti chicken, and sweet chili tofu (no longer offered, so sad since it was bomb). The drinks here are good, too. I feel bad giving a newish small business a low review but I've been here a few times now and my family members have been quite a few times as well. The first time I went I ordered the cold cut banh mi which wasn't bad, pretty good. Then another time I went back and ordered the beef and bbq pork one. Too dry, the beef one too salty, bread not fresh. Recently my brother visited for the first time, ordered something from the kiosk, waits for it for a while, nothing came out. He asks about it and the person was surprised saying they ran out of what he ordered. He got something else. Haha it was a confusing interaction. He was the only one there, Why wouldn't you tell him you're out of it instead of doing nothing?? According to the other recent reviews, they see to be having an issue with running out of items but still letting people pay for it. And clueless staff, etc. I know it's not malicious but they need to make some changes because every time we drive by... there's no customers. The young lady at the register just stood there scowling at everyone without saying a word. Getting the hint the group in front of me ordered at the self serve tablet. The BBQ pork banh mi was okay in terms od meat taste, bread flakiness, and was not as spicy as most places (maybe less spicy jalapenos?). Tapioca was warm and soft, not too much ice where the liquid ratio is overshadowed, and the tea is refreshing and not overly sweet. Adjustment appears can be made with less sugar and less ice. The au jus beef was hearty size could probably split into 2 meals or just have a happier belly. Baguette has a nice crunch, the beef was tender like a roast or short rib meat, not a lot of mayo added which I enjoy, and the pickle veggies cilantro and jalapeños (I removed) still provided nice heat crunch and acidity. The sandwich was made with care - can see it in the presentation :) Overall yes will return back especially since they open at 7am! The thin scrawny cut meat didn't even cover the bottom of the bread. The meat was COLD. However, the bread was fresh, but who even cares at this point? We hated these sandwiches so much. Another new find brought to me by the food influencers of IG. Don't let the empty restaurant fool you. My fiance and I felt buyers remorse after ordering and waiting for our food; thinking we were fooled by another influencer. After taking the first bite, we were surprised at how good the Banh mis were. Five Spice pork - I typically don't like the taste of five spice, but the seasoning wasn't strong at all. It was their twist on Vietnamese thit nuong. Dac Biet - Also another hit. Good amount of pate and mayo but I wished they put more veggies. Overall, these are above average but also a little more expensive than I'm used to in the 626/714. Also note that there is little to no service based on how they operate. The workers didn't even greet us and just stayed back in the kitchen. When customers would stand at the counter, they would tell them to order using the kiosks behind them. This cute little place has gotten a much needed makeover from the previous restaurant that was there. The food is prepared quickly and it tastes great. I am new to the area and always seem to miss their operating hours. I was able to drop by a few weeks ago on my way home from work. Ordered a bbq pork bahn mi and it was a done deal, I was back 2 days later buying them for the family. The baguette is heavenly, crunchy outside soft inside, crunchy vegetables, tender pork with lots of flavor, I am truly not a mayo person but their house sauce seals the deal. This is a great bahn mi! The Thai tea here is delightful, one of the best I've had, no idea if they make it in house or not but I don't even care, the quality is good, not too sweet and tastes great. Then wanted to get the matcha latte but they also did not have any other non dairy alternatives. So ended up with matcha lychee tea but even with it being less sweet it was still pretty sweet. Would like to see some almond or oat milk here. I felt that their sandwich was good but had a lot of bread compared to the meat or filling.
