Came here during the soft opening and a lot of items were missing such as the Thai tea. So couldn't get that. Then wanted to get the matcha latte but they also did not have any other non dairy alternatives. So ended up with matcha lychee tea but even with it being less sweet it was still pretty sweet. Would like to see some almond or oat milk here. I felt that their sandwich was good but had a lot of bread compared to the meat or filling. Buy 2 get 1 Free. They're $9.50 each. Three total Bahn Mi sandwiches for $19 plus tax. We got Pork Bahn Mi. The toppings were very light and extremely stingy. The thin scrawny cut meat didn't even cover the bottom of the bread. The meat was COLD. However, the bread was fresh, but who even cares at this point? We hated these sandwiches so much. I'm not sure what quality was like when they first opened, but this is garbage now. This is supposedly their flagship store. What a joke. Save your money and eat literally anywhere else. Boban? We came in on a Sunday. The vibe is super cute and minimal but comfortable. You can order on the kiosk or with the cashier. The Pho beef sandwich was delicious, great spice to it. If you don't like spicy make sure to tell them. The bread is good and crispy. I loved my brown sugar milk tea however, I wish they had toppings such as grass jelly and red bean! Absolutely delicious banh mi and milk teas! Boban has so many creative, modern banh mi flavors/toppings. My favorite is their roti chicken, curry chicken, pho beef, and spicy BBH beef. It came with a side of au ju to dip the bahn mi. It was tasty and the texture of the bread was nice, to me if the bread sucks so will the bahn mi. It was also nice that they had water that you just help yourself. The worker who helped me was really nice and helpful. Plenty of parking, very clean and nice inside. Only gripe for the price of a Vietnamese coffee and a small sandwich was about $20. They do have specials if you get there before 10:30am and offer different specials if you can snag one. So apparently this spot sold out in just 3 hours on opening day... and it's been buzzing ever since!! Well suffice it to say... I totally get the hype! I was told the customer favorite is the Au Jus Beef Banh Mi... and you guys... this was the most tender, slow-roasted beef (SOOO good paired with a crispy baguette) I appreciated the fact that the baguette held up so well even with all the loaded toppings! This is a newer Boba, Banh mi and Vietnamese rice bowls spot. The place is clean and bright and beautifully decorated. There are a couple of spots for you to take Instagram photos especially with the bike and the banh mi basket. Their sandwiches are super stuffed. First time here. I always passed it by and wanted to try. Today was the day. The inside was clean and dining area was comfortable. However the exterior parking area is in need of a gardening service which may turn off some prospective customers. Don't let that deter you. It was probably one of the best banh mi that I've had in a long time. Bread was perfect. Meat (bbq pork) quality and amount was perfect as well. The vietnamese coffee with ube had a great balance and flavor but had a tad too much ice otherwise it was near perfect. I highly recommend and will be returning for more. We ordered the five spice pork and the dac biet. We were surprised how good it was! The five spice really shone through and I thoroughly enjoyed the flavors. The dac biet was also good, good proportions of pate and meat in both. The only thing I felt lacking in both however were the veggies, especially the pickled carrots/daikon. It might be the cut of the carrots/daikon - normally banh mi places cut their veggies a bit thicker so there's more bite to it but the ones we received, it was very slender. read more

Banana matcha: 4.5/5 Sweet milk, fresh bananas and Smith matcha. Very good drink! BBQ pork banh mi: 4/5 Very, very saucy and flavorful. A lot of meat and veggies. I like the thick cucumber slices. Very nice crunch! Sweet chili tofu banh mi: 3.5/5 I asked for the sauce on the side and even with the sauce on the side, the sandwich was saucy, which I liked. I enjoyed the tofu. This place popped up on my feed and had to try it. It was Memorial Day and it wasn't busy. The location is really easy to find. There are 2 kiosks to order from. I ordered BBQ Pork Banh Mi and Thai Ice tea and didn't wait long. The BBQ Pork was flavorful with a healthy amount of meat and the jalepenos added a little kick. The Thai tea was good too. Boban recently had a week of soft opening and then a Grand Opening last Saturday. At first it appears to be another Vietnamese place, but I would call it a Vietnamese fusion that takes other flavors and delivers them in Vietnamese vehicles (banh mi and bowls and drinks). Combo Cha Pate is closest to a general banh mi, sliced deli meat with pate. It was solid, but I think the rest of the options is where the menu really shines. I really like the variety of protein options. I've tried just about every item, and my recommendation is to ask for extra sauce. Each protein has a distinct flavor that I like, just not quite enough to really wow me. Au Jus Beef is tender, with a thick gravy sauce rather than a broth to dip (like the French Dip). It does have a smear of mayo tucked in there, but I wished it had more of that gravy. Sweet Thai Chili tofu had good portion of tofu. That sauce was the dominant flavor, but didn't have enough volume to quite coat the inside of the banh mi, would have liked more sweet Thai chili sauce. Five Spice Pork (Chinese spices) had medium intensity, was perhaps the driest of the proteins I tried. It did need some sauce, and I don't think mayo would be appropriate. Turn up the spice, more Szechuan peppercorns, more cinnamon, even a little bit more star anise. All the banh mi have pickled carrots and daikon, and an extra addition of pickled red onions that I think nicely complement the other veggies. Drinks can be customized but only to less ice and less sweet (not zero for either). Mixed Fruit Tea used Jasmine green tea and was extremely fragrant, not too sweet, Passionfruit puree inside, i got it multiple times. Matcha Lychee Tea is confused, I like lychee but don't think it pairs well with the matcha, completely overpowered the matcha bitterness, lychee was dominant on the palate and matcha barely detectable after 3 seconds. Cafe Sua was a nice well rounded coffee drink with some creaminess and low sweetness. To me the Fruit Tea and the strong jasmine floral notes was the real drink standout. read more

Boban is a new boba and banh mi spot that is going through soft opening. It replaced a Peruvian restaurant. My partner and I were excited to try it, but I was pretty disappointed. We came here for lunch on a weekday and it wasn't too crowded. We were greeted upon entering. The space is a good size, and it is light, bright, and modern inside. There is seating outside as well. There are two self-serve kiosks, but you can also order with a staff member at the front. We ordered separately with a staff member to get the student discount. My partner got the Combo Cha Pate Banh Mi and Sea Salt Green Thai Tea. I ordered the Pho Beef Banh Mi and Matcha Banana Milk Tea. There is a water station near the entrance which is nice. Our orders came out pretty quickly. My drink had to be remade because they forgot to add the matcha to it, but it was a quick fix. My banh mi was very bread-y and the ratio of bread to filling was skewed towards the bread. The beef was tender and the flavor was good. My drink did not have any banana flavor at all. It was supposed to have a banana cold foam which tasted like a plain cold foam. There was a syrup in my drink which kind of tasted like a brown sugar syrup. I was pretty disappointed with my order. However, my partner's sandwich was pretty good (bread to filling ratio and flavor) and his drink was solid. Overall, only considering what I ordered, giving Boban a 3/5. No issues with service or ambiance, just the food. Maybe I ordered wrong. I'm open to coming back to trying other items on the menu since my partner's banh mi and drink were good though.
