Bento $ 10/18/22

The ice cream is gone. The prices went up and the customer service is a hit or miss. I last went on Friday at 8pm, an hour before closing. I picked 2 meat boxes and loaded up on white onions and mushrooms. My husband piled on the noodles and while I was putting the DIY sauces in the bowl I knocked over the noodles. The gentleman behind the counter said he "should charge [me] an extra $4" for the noodles. Upon ringing us up he did not charge me the extra $4, so I tipped him for being nice. While cooking I noticed that all my noodles that had fallen over on the tray were put aside to be thrown away. I wish I knew he was being passively aggressive and asked me while ringing it up, because I'd rather have paid extra than to waste it out of spite. Majorly bummed because even with the raise in prices, it was hard to find one local to where I live so I kept going. Might be a while til I return, the low carb Mongolian albeit delicious, has left a sour taste on my tongue. Anyone have suggestions for Mongolian, send it my way. Much appreciated!

I'm not sure if the owner has changed, but prices went up this past year and the food quality and quanity went down. You have to add noodles into your bowl prior to everything else, which forces you to choose from more noodles and less add-ons. The add-on availability isn't consistent from my last two visits and makes me prefer the mall genghis khan over this location. Its a shame, might have to drive the extra mile to other locations for noodles now.

Came here to for lunch with my coworkers at 11am on a Thursday and it was already getting busy. You can pick a meat and then pack a bowl full of noodles, veggies, and sauces. I got mine spicy and it was delicious. The guys behind the counter were fast and amazing. Will definitely be back for a quick and delicious lunch bite.

It was ok, nothing extraordinary. Service was ok. The lady seemed impatient, The food just lacked seasoning. I guess every Mongolian place is different, so if you haven't eaten here before you may want to add more seasoning

I couldn't wait lol but this spot is fire

The food was truly immaculate and very delicious and impeccable. I love all the exotic boba flavors and the chewiness of the boba pearls.

Can someone clarify the one meat vs 2 meat pricing? For an extra $2, do you get twice the meat as the one-meat price? Also, do you only get one trip, or can you go back multiple times for one price?

Yes, twice the meat for the extra $$. You only go once for the price, use one bowl, but the meats do not go inside the bowl so you have the extra space for veggies.

Do they have pocket bread?

Sorry we don't have pocket bread, but we have other Korean and Japanese side order options. Thanks.

How does this place taste?

The way that I selected my ingredients made it to my taste. You select all of your ingredients, from meat, veggies and sauces. So as long as you pick what you like, it should taste great!

Chasu pork is my favorite so I do not allow myself to miss...The thickness of chasu is just right and I like the texture. One thing - I used not to finish the soup when I have ramen in other places. The reason is that it is either too heavy or it is not tasty enough. "Try some" is good enough for me. Haha, I finished all this time. Avacado Bomb is a must try here It is a deep-fried avocado, sliced in half and stuffed with cream cheese and crab meat, then topped with a savory sauce. I am a person who like to try food new. This is not common in other ramen restaurant.. I hope that I can remember to take some photos when I go next time.

It's a small place with a handful of seating, very clean with a wonderful ramen house ambiance. I'm sure the atmosphere is different when it's packed, but it was nice and quiet when we got there which made for good conversation and a great experience. I decided on the Shasho Ramen, and my son chose the Katsu Don plate. There's a 1-20 scale for the spice level, I chose 20 as I'm dead inside. Spice is subjective, so don't blame me if your experience is different, but I didn't find it all that particularly spicy - what I did find though was some wonderfully flavored broth with a perfect blend of spice and notes from the vegetables and other spices. The noodles were cooked proper, and everything was warm and fresh! My son said his katsu was perfectly cooked as well, nice and crunchy and not overly fried. The service was on point, they were on top of things and we were never left wanting. Honestly I'm really happy to have finally made the time to stop in; I will certainly be returning, and I hope to see you there! :)

Service was friendly when I stopped by for a late lunch and we were warmily greeted by the staff. We dined in and there are about 10 seats available to sit at or you can order take out which is what most people do. They have a variety of options to choose from, I went with the spicy salmon and scallop hand rolls and both were delicious. The salmon carpaccio and spicy edamame we ordered as appetizers was also solid. They brought out our handrolls as they finished making them and spaced it out so not everything came out all at once which I liked. The free salad was refreshing and a good palate cleanser. They also offer fresh wasabi for an extra charge which I liked. Overall, this is a solid spot for handrolls and sushi and I recommend coming here if you want something on the lighter side that isn't too heavy compared to the other spots in Rodeo 39! A 7.5/10

I ordered their signature lamb shank noodles, lamb rib noodles, and the lamb tripe soup…read more The lamb shank and ribs were super tender, flavorful, and not gamey at all. The broth is rich and almost like a red-braised stew, though a bit on the salty side -- it would've been perfect with a Chinese sesame flatbread! The noodles themselves are basically instant noodles, nothing special I'm guessing they don't actually make hand-pulled noodles here. The lamb tripe soup has a slightly stronger lamb taste, but adding some cucumber and lemon helps balance it out. The flavor is quite unique -- not the clear broth style we get in China, but more of a saucy, braised type of soup. The tacos were surprisingly good, very close to what you get in Mexico. I tried beef, beef intestine, beef head, and pork tongue. The beef head was gelatinous and flavorful, and the intestine tasted great -- nicely seared, fragrant, bouncy, and absolutely no funky smell. Overall, it's a spot worth trying. Mexican flavors generally suit our palate well, but the noodle dishes are on the salty side, so having extra drinks definitely helps!

I didnt know what I wanted so I was looking at different places on the way back the SF Valley. I ended up choosing this place and it was a very good choice. We got there and was seated right away. We ordered our drinks and food. It didnt take long fot us to get our food. We ordered: Jalapeno Poppers -- wasnt spicy at all but it was really packed with spicy tuna, cream cheese, etc. Baked Jen Jen -- this was part of their low carb roll. It was spicy crab and avocado wrapped in baked salmon. It was pretty good. It was just too much crab for my liking. Dynamite Roll -- it had a decent amount on it All that we ordered were flavorful. Something to remember though is to make sure to ask for Wasabi and/or Ginger. They do not automatically serve them when you order rolls because some people just waste them. Makes sense! It is free so ask if you want any. The service was great. I will be back if I am in the area. The price was also comparable to other sushi joint.

We ordered a black ramen, a spicy tonkatsu, and a Jessica roll. They have a deal where, if you buy a ramen or udon, you get a specialty roll at half off. The sushi was very mediocre; the ginger was extremely dry; it's not bad for the half-off price, but I wouldn't pay full price for the sushi. The ramen however, was really good. The spicy tonkatsu had the perfect amount of spice, the black ramen had an umami flavor that didn't overpower the ramen. The eggs were cooked perfectly, just a little solid yolk, but still runny enough. I have to say, walking into an empty restaurant, where they advertised a new mozzarella stick appetizer, I was extremely skeptical. I was afraid that it would not be an authentic experience, but I have to say, the ramen was really good! While the ramen was good, the service was a little lacking. Even though there were only 2 other customers, no one checked in on us during the meal. Server was nowhere near us, and so we did run out of water, with no refill. to be seen. Good ramen, mediocre sushi, lackluster service.
