I was greeted promptly and the server was kind enough to give me a glass of water while I was waiting as it was b*tt f*ck hot outside. I ordered: - Crispy chicken sandwich: served w/ house sauce, coleslaw, and pickles - KoKo curry katsu: served w/ salad, rice, miso soup, and Japanese curry - Tonkatsu ramen: creamy pork broth with sliced pork, soft-boiled egg, nori, and green onions - Super Philadelphia roll - Super Yellowtail roll - Rainbow roll - Baked scallops roll - Panda roll ...now that I think about it, I think I ordered more, but I can't remember. We didn't get water until 20 minutes after sitting down. 15 minutes later, we finally got our order in but the food didn't come out for another 25 minutes. Oh my gosh ... why did we not try this place sooner. A M A Z I N G . Best Japanese food we've had locally .. my wife and I both ordered the katsu curry plates .. phenomenal . The curry was incredible . Normally you get the store bought curry at restaurants but this actually tasted homemade. The katsu itself was very crispy and seasoned perfectly. We also got an order of garlic edamame.. TO DIE FOR, and an order of the cucumber salad.. perfect . Oh and don't forget the miso soup... BEST miso soup we've had in a very long time. The place is nice and clean. I went in to try the chicken cutlet curry, but it was pretty disappointing. I will never go there again for the curry, but it seems like the rest of the customers were ordering sushi so I'll consider that for next time. Great experience for pick up food. We had the bad boy , double crunchy, and the spider rolls. They were all equally delicious. For starters we had the soft crab, garlic edamame, and blue fin sashimi. Luckily I think the AC was turned on since we went in but be careful if you sit by the windows because it will burn your skin if you touch the black part. 10/10! Stopped by for takeout around noon. Got one of my favorites, the pepper salmon roll, and a john's roll. Both were delicious, filling, and fresh. They're always surprisingly empty considering the quality of service and food. Seriously such an underrated spot, I hope they stick around. One of the servers gave me a cup of ice water without being prompted, even though I was only there for ordering out. I've noted in a past review how attentive and helpful they are here. Been to some good sushi places but I really don't think you can beat the price point, quality of food, and service combined. Hopefully they get more customer flow! read more

The outside seems like a hole in the wall location, but the inside of the restaurant was clean and nice. Service was okay. I went on a Saturday evening a the place was basically empty, and it took a minute for my party to get utensils, and place our order in. I personally just did not like the quality of the sashimi I ordered as it tasted icy and frostbitten. I also did not like the taste of the rice from my salmon sushi. It tasted very starchy and a bit watery like it hadn't been completely dried. When I brought my complaints to the server they said I could switch it out for something else, which is why I ordered the salmon, and I assumed it would be taken off the bill. Which it was not. I was then told I'd get a 40% discount off the item. I was still made to pay full price for the sashimi and given the 40% on my salmon item, which wasn't what was agreed upon. The server told me the owner wouldn't do anything better as the sashimi is expensive, but the quality was not there at all and I barely ate any of the dish. It wasn't even worth the back and forth so I just paid and went on with my night. I wouldn't go back here or recommend this spot to anyone else. read more

We got the Sweet Koko Gang Jung and the Chicken Katsu w/ an extra side of rice. The food was pretty mediocre, although the chicken katsu portion is big. I wish we had more information on the Koko Gang Jung, because we didn't know it was boneless. It was all bite sized and not tender; it was pretty hard and a bit stale. The Chicken Katsu was extremely soggy and not that flavorful, which is really unfortunate. We ended up being full due to the portion size, but still not satisfied. Wow! Loved this restaurant. While on vacation we were looking for something close to our hotel for an early dinner. This was about 15-20 minutes down the road. So happy we found Kokodeck! Parking was no problem, the outside is subtle, but the inside is new, clean and has a warm feeling when you go inside. The menu is updated and fresh, we decided on trying a crunch salmon roll, popcorn crawfish roll, Fish Katsu plate, miso soup and to our delight we tried the pepper salmon. Each of these items were delicious in there own way. I think for us the star of the show was the popcorn crawfish roll, I think we would get each of these again.
