    The small chicken/beef bowl
    Jerry A.

The food for my first time being here is amazing! I got the chicken and beef bowl small! You can choose the spice level. For being a small it is a damn good size! The prices on drinks are not bad either. 2.99 for a large is great when everywhere cost more! I will definitely be back to have the rest of the menu! The service was fast and reliable! Ambiance is nice and the classical music they play sets it!

As someone who has gone to Flame Broiler and Waba Grill for years I will say I'd pick Mr. Teriyaki over both. You can get the same things and more from Mr. Teriyaki at a fraction of the price. They also play music and have all the doors open so you get a nice breeze when it's hot. I have driven past this place for years and never stopped in until today. The prices are great and the flavor is as well. Will be coming back.

Menu Board & Beverages. Place is nice & clean. Friendly greeting too.

Tried Mr Teriyaki after driving by for years. We chose the Deluxe Size Teriyaki Chicken & Beef & an order of Crunch Rolls. Both were good overall. The Deluxe comes with a lot of rice under the meat so the protein to carb ratio is a tad out of balance. The beef is cut into thin ribbons & there were small to medium pieces of chicken that I liked more than the beef. Chinese Chicken Salad comes with it. I wish I saw more chicken in the salad though. My BF enjoyed the creamy 1000 Island style dressing while I prefer the oil-based, somewhat sweet salad dressing that several other places use. Would have loved to see some shredded chicken as opposed to a few bits of it as I mentioned but liked the crunchy topping. If they included a scoop of macaroni salad it would have made the Deluxe...well, more deluxe. We also got the Crunch Roll. It's less expensive than most places & it was a good choice. There's more to the menu that we'll try next time. While we weren't overwhelmed with the portions we didn't feel gouged with super crazy prices either. These days we're all paying more for food so we appreciate their efforts to offer decent meals & beverages for a decent price, hence the 4 stars. The man who helped us was nice & seemed to take pride in his business. It's located in a small strip mall with a smallish parking lot. There are several booths for eating in & it looks like they do a brisk Take-Out business as well.

Mr Teriyaki was noticed on our way to Western High School for a wrestling tournament. we came in, nice and clean and our order was taken quickly. we had a 1. teriyaki bowl 2. mongolian noodle and shrimp plate 3. egg rolls 4. california roll 5. beef and chicken plate my 10 year old, as picky as he is, cleared his bowl in minutes. loved it. wife and i shared items 2-5 to no exception, everything was terrific. although the taste of the noodles was not agreeing to my palate, it was good nonetheless. but the teriyaki, fugeddaboudit... california roll... fresh. when we roll by again, we will stop n to say hi. thank you Your new Friends from Thousand Oaks.

I decided to try several different teriyaki places in LA and Orange county area for the 2018 &2019 @EatCheapwithPete Teriyaki Challenge. Mr. Teriyaki did not make the top three. I got the deluxe chicken and beef combo for $9.99. It comes with Chinese chicken salad and it had a creamy dressing and a crunchy topping. The plate at first looked like a nice size portion however I discovered a lot of rice when I started to dig into my Styrofoam container. For the cost, I was expecting more protein and less rice. I enjoyed the chicken more than the beef. The chicken had a nice char and good teriyaki flavor. The staff is super friendly. The restaurant is part of a shopping center and there is plenty of parking.

I loved this place! It was very apparent that the food was of amazing quality. The food is made on the spot. Unlike many other Chinese food places with food that's been out all day under heat lamps Highly recommend this place!

Doesn't look like much when you pass by, but let me tell you!! THE FOOD IS AMAZING! The owner I think it was took our order, we sat down and when it was ready, he showed up each plate to ensure everything we ordered was correct. NOW I APPRECIATE THAT!!! Anyhow we ordered 2 beef bowls, 1 Mongolian Plate, and 1 half and half. Its made fresh as you can hear the grill in the back cooking up our items. Its very clean on the inside and you get what you pay for. There are lots of tables if you decide to have a big party there. Bathrooms are clean and overall a great place to eat. If your in the area, check it out, you wont be disappointed!!

We started with the shishito peppers and takoyaki, and the takoyaki was easily some of the best we've had. It came out piping hot, perfectly crispy on the outside, and soft and fluffy inside. Since it was such a hot day, we ordered the Hiyashi Chuka (chilled ramen) and the Oroshi Soba Combo with grated radish and tempura. Both were super refreshing and exactly what we were craving. The Hiyashi Chuka had a great balance of flavors with fresh toppings, and the soba was light, chewy, and paired really well with the crispy tempura. The hot tea was a nice touch, and everyone working there was friendly and welcoming. We also loved how extensive the menu is. There are so many Japanese comfort food options that we'll definitely be back to try more. If you're looking for authentic Japanese food in the area, Gomen is absolutely worth a visit.

At first I thought it was a fast food style, order at the counter and wait for your order to be ready, but it was actually a casual sit down restaurant. They have a but two rolls and get one free special which is what I went with. They have a variety of sushi rolls to choose from. They have no rice rolls and several styles of specialty rolls. They even have ramen or udon noodle soups. The service was attentive enough to not feel forgotten. She checked on us a few times and made sure our water was replenished. Pleasantly surprised about this place. Nowhere a high end Japanese restaurant, but very sufficient enough for a simple lunch.

When I arrived around 12:30 p.m. on a Saturday, the restaurant was relatively clean and completely empty. The tables looked fairly new and had a simple, utilitarian style. I walked up to the counter and asked how the promotion worked. The owner pointed out the rolls on the menu and asked whether I was dining in or ordering to go. After telling her I was dining in, I looked over the menu. Since I don't eat much rice, I was immediately drawn to the three no-rice rolls, which were $16 each. The specialty rolls also looked good and were priced between $16 and $19. I asked to order three of the no-rice rolls using the promotion. That's when the owner told me those rolls were not included. The sign outside says "any two rolls," yet apparently there are exclusions that aren't disclosed. Since the no-rice rolls are in the same price range as the specialty rolls, I asked why they were excluded. The owner didn't offer any explanation--she simply said no, then walked away from the register and back into the kitchen. I found that interaction disrespectful and a clear indication that they weren't interested in earning my business. Customer service matters, and this experience left a very negative impression. I recommend choosing one of the many other restaurants in the area that value friendly, transparent service. Advertising a promotion as applying to "any" rolls while excluding certain items without clearly stating that feels misleading.

I went in today and got 2 rolls and a miso soup but the miso soup never showed up. It was on the bill but she removed it when I explained I was no longer interested when she gave the bill. My biggest issues with this location is the amount of menus to look at upon arrival. Service is always hit or miss. I can't say I've ever seen the same person taking orders in times I've visited. I do always see the owner or manager sitting at a table but never any interaction with ppl or service. I would say my biggest gripe with this place is when you get your bill to verify your tip amount. The bill gives you suggestions at 18%~22% but they aren't true amounts. I'm good at math and 20% of the bill says say $7 but the real 20% would really say $5.50. I would pay the higher amounts when the service was great but again it's been hit or miss service wise. I will still tip with poor service because ppl still need to live and it's getting harder and harder these days. Again I can say I've never had any complaints about the food itself but I hope the service will eventually get better.

Good service. Food: BEST onigiri iv had! Iv tried the kbbq, mentaiko, honey walnut, and spicy salmon onigiri. My two favorite were the mentaiko and spicy salmon onigiri. The mentaiko (fish eggs) was delicious, it was salty but like the good saltiness (not overly salty if that makes sense haha) and keep in mind that it is a tad spicy but for me I can handle it because I love anything spicy! Now the spicy salmon onigiri was PERFECT. Not too spicy (perfect for those who likes a mild spice) and creamy. My bf ordered spicy salmon as well and honey walnut shrimp. Both he said were delicious and his favorite was the honey walnut shrimp! For the kbbq, it was delicious too! Reminded me of Kbbq! All onigiris came with seasoned furikake and seaweed (there's an option if u want it on the side or remove it). There is also ahi tube poke and 3 sauces to choose from. After we walked right in front of Omusubi Gonbei, we both decided to get some onigiri. We were greeted by a smiling and friendly employee behind the counter when we approached this little eatery. We ended up purchasing: Spicy Tuna, $2.70 prior to tax- My husband decided to order this and really enjoyed it. I didn't have any because I am not much of a spicy eater. But my husband enjoyed it. Grilled Eel, $3.60 prior to tax- My husband and I split this one. I really liked the eel and also the sauce that was used on top of the eel. My husband also really liked this one. Fried Oyster, $3.60 prior to tax- I decided to order this one but it was topped with a spicy mayonnaise that I thought was a little too spicy for me (again, I am not a spicy eater). But the fried oyster itself was good. ---------------------------------- (Total= $10.67 after tax) Wait time for our items was pretty much non existent, since the girl helping us boxed up our items before I even had the chance to finish paying (I always struggle to pay via tap on the first try... I always seem to have the credit card somewhere else, instead of wherever the sensor is to pay for it...D'oh). This was a great snack for us since we had lunch 3 hours before (I had a light lunch of a tofu salad so the 1.5 onigiri that I had was perfect for me). I like that the onigiri was fresh and the filling. But there is a significant amount of rice and very little of the filling. But I still liked it regardless and would definitely come back to try the other flavors in the future.

Greeted and seated immediately when we arrived. Our booth was cozy and loved the murals on the 3 walls. When in doubt, or you're confused in what to pick, go for the sashimi sampler - tuna, Yellowtail, salmon, snapper, maguro lay a top grated daikon and carrots and shiso leaves. Also garnished with seaweed, yamagobo, sunomono, lemon slice...you can tell a lot of work went into this plate. It was incredible, fresh, and super tasty on this hot summer day. The house sake, served cold was a perfect pairing. We didn't stop there! We also ordered: Jalapeno Yellowtail - love the sprouts garnish with the jalapeño oil and ponzu to finish off. Three amigos roll - spicy scallops roll, cucumber, avocado, tuna, albacore. Perfect to share. Yummy scallops! Got our veggies in with sunomono cucumber salad and veggie tempura. Really enjoyed and definitely will add this sushi bar into our rotation! Service was friendly and polite. And we're ready for more! Kampai!

I was craving some cold soba and saw that Echizen offered Zaru Soba! We waited about 15 minutes or…read moreso for a table for 2. Under their Light Dinner section, they offer a Zarusoba for $12.00 and a Tempura Udon/Soba with Shrimp Tempura for $13.00. However, if you want Zarusoba with Tempura, they charge an extra dollar. The Zarusoba was good, but it would be nice if they gave a bit more sauce for dipping. I also got a Sashimi Salad, which had a lot of sashimi! It had salmon, tuna, and a white fish. Pretty good, but it could have used a little more dressing as well. The Combination Plate with Salmon and Tempura was enjoyable. It comes with a piece of salmon, a variety of tempura (shrimp, broccoli, sweet potato, onion), side salad, miso soup, rice, tempura sauce, and teriyaki sauce. Salmon was cooked well, and I liked all of the tempura! Their Lunch Specials are originally what caught my eye, but it seems like they don't have anything similar for dinner. Instead, everything is a la carte with the exception of a few combination plates. I wish they would do dinner specials similar to their lunch specials! Parking here is pretty difficult. The lot gets packed with several cars circling around hunting for a spot. They're also going some construction right now which doesn't help. There is a large parking lot where the Home Depot is next door, but they specifically have signs posted to say you can't park there.

Authentic Japanese-owned, mostly Japanese staff, with a couple of long-timers who have clearly found their forever workplace - over a decade and counting. New owner took over when the original retired, a few small changes here and there, but the food and service? Barely touched. That is the highest compliment a ownership transition can get. Check IG for their lunch specials from M-F. I am leaving this review purely out of self-interest. This place cannot close.
