Smoked albacore and blue crab handrolls
Vegas C.

Hidden gem sushi spot tucked into a strip mall in the Cypress area with plenty of parking. I've been coming here for years and even after moving to Orange, I still make the trip back because the consistency is unbeatable. Service is always prompt and courteous, and the sushi chefs are consistently on point. Everything comes out fresh and well prepared. I usually come for the happy hour. It's all day Mondays and Tuesdays, and Wednesday through Friday from 2 to 5. The truffled salmon is the reason I keep coming back. Rich, buttery, and melts in your mouth. Also ordered the salmon skin, smoked albacore, and blue crab hand rolls. All delivered. This place hits what matters most. Fresh fish, fair prices, and reliability. Keep an eye on their social media and make a reservation when they do their bluefin tuna carving. Definitely worth experiencing.

Great local happy hour -- sushi tasted great and the beer was cold. Friendly service and clean interior -- has a cool and hip vibe. Will definitely be back!

Tried Sushi World Sushi for the first time and I'm glad I did. From the outside, you can't really tell what it's giving, but inside it's actually a vibe. The walls are covered in beautiful artwork, and the bar area felt relaxed. They had football on the TV when I came in, and a few people were posted up watching the game. They also had music playing, and I caught myself doing a little bop at the bar, so yes, the vibe was vibing. Service was a highlight. The guys behind the counter were super friendly and attentive, checked on me throughout, and when I ordered oysters they offered me Tabasco, which was a nice touch. Oysters with a little Tabasco? 10/10. I also ordered the #2 bento box, and it was a mix of hits and a couple misses. The cucumber salad was good, the sushi was good, and the rice was solid. The tempura veggies were a little soft and could've been fried harder, plus a little salt would've helped. The chicken teriyaki leaned a bit dry, but the flavor was good. Overall, I enjoyed it and I'll be back. For a neighborhood spot, it surprised me in a good way, especially on service, atmosphere, and the friendly sushi bar energy.

Don't let the name fool you--Sushi World is an excellent local sushi spot with delicious food and friendly, attentive staff. They offer daily specials, happy hour deals, unique specialty rolls, bento boxes, omakase specials, fresh sushi and sashimi, and more! I recently enjoyed their sushi, omakase sushi lunch, miso black cod dish, and appetizers. If you're not into sushi, they offer plenty of cooked items and soups from the kitchen. Follow them on social media for updates on their current specials and when they announce whole Blue Fin tuna carvings. Get first dibs on the fresh tuna! Prices have increased over the years, as have most restaurants. However, quality and service are worth the cost. I'll be back!

The food was very good. The wait time, however. Around 7 pm on a Thursday night was 45 minutes for our food. That's after our order was placed. Huge to go orders and only two staffers running around meant hungry diners and then no open tables for folks waiting. Kind of a nightmare scenario. But once the food came, it was good. I especially liked the jalapeño yellow tail sashimi.

The food here was really good, but the service was super slow and honestly not great. We waited way too long for dishes to come out, which made the experience less enjoyable. First dish came out about 9 minutes after order was taken the the dish took 36 minutes later. One suggestion for the restaurant: during special events like the bluefin tuna cutting, please consider having more chefs making sushi, especially for the tables not seated at the bar. It seemed like those at the bar were taken care of quickly, while everyone else had to wait much longer.

Wow just realized that I haven't left a review for this place. Full disclosure I've been here a hundred times and have no problem spending top dollar here. It's a small/medium sized restaurant that has an awesome vibe. The staff and sushi Chefs, lead by Chef Ewan(forgive me if I spelt the name wrong) are the best in the business. This is my favorite style sushi place, it lands between traditional Japanese style and modern American style. I love the experience of traditional Japanese no menu restaurants, but at times they can feel overly stiff and slow. This place buys top quality product(I know from an inside source) and the presentation and flavor development of the dishes is excellent. Standout dish/item: Uni Shooter & Shima Aji

Amazed how good this place was since it wasn't crowded. Mon & Tues they have happy hour all day . The sushi and the oysters didn't taste fishy at all either . Def would come back

The kids teriyaki and rolls tasted good

The food was awesome! Service was great and they were very kind. The theme was cool with japanese style painting on wall. It was very clean. It is one of the best sushi places I've been to.

Oh my word. Why have I taken this long to get here?! Excellent quality sushi and everything we ate was so good! Started with chicken gyoza and agadahsi tofu. Then the real meal started with truffle seared salmon sushi, peppered salmon sushi, and salmon sushi! We had the Bentley roll which had seared salmon on top and spicy salmon inside. Wow. Salmon carpaccio was tasty, the sauce was delicious and had a hint of spicy oil. What I really enjoyed was the salmon skin hand roll. The crunchy salmon skin and fresh cucumbers along with the perfectly wrapped seaweed was *chefs kiss* Staff was attentive and it was chill vibes. They had raspberry iced tea which for some reason I flippin love with any meal, so for that, I give 5 solid stars. LOL! I'm coming back to this place. For sure, for sure.

I saw the picture, on Facebook, of the Bluefin Tuna bowl. It states that this item isn't on the menu, yet, but I would like to know the price of the item?

It is a Bluefin Toro Bowl. It costs $45.

Do you serve beer and wine also?

Yes We serve beer, wine and sake

How come the table in the back isn't open to smaller parties? We dine here frequently and it's my sons favor place to sit. However we're told it's for large parties only but no one ever sits back there.

They're being hopeful that a larger party comes. They also don't want a predicament: If you were sitting there and a larger party came, you probably wouldn't want to be told you needed to change tables.

Is omakase still available? If so, how much per person?

Omakase is available every day. The price depends on how many pieces of sushi you want. If you let the server or chef know how many pieces you would like per person, they'll be able to give you a price.

You open today?

Yes, we are open every day.

Is it Ayce?

No, it is not.

Are the sushi chefs wearing masks AND gloves when making the rolls and sushi dishes during this COVID-19 pandemic?

Yes from the couple times I've been there in recent months.

Are the party trays 20%?

Currently for take out, yes.

Where can I find the party platter options and price? Will I be able to order and pickup on thanksgiving day?

Hi and thank you for contacting us. All of our party platter pricing is listed at the url below. However, we will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, unfortunately. You can place your order for any other day we are open. Thank you and regards.… Read more

My wife saw the ad about Gomen Ramen restaurant on Instagram and we decided to go try some Ramen,…read moreshrimp fried rice, and something more but guess what? They are closed due to the sewer problem. Dissapointed! Then we found next door, called Crazy Rock'N sushi. My wife knew this place before but we never tried it yet. Tonight finally we got there. Vibes are young, dark lighting, trendy w open dining area in the middle, booth tables are on the wall. Most of customers are young. I got the menus and hard time to go over all together at a time. So many menus....appetizers, entrée, sushi, specialty rolls, sake list, and a lot more.... We had our fave menu all the time, got the same ones, 2 dragon rolls and 1 super Philly roll w hot Sake. We both said so good. The rice was perfect. Eel sauce was flavorful, thick, chunky, well balanced w fresh salmon and cream cheese. They gave us complementary corn soup in the beginning. Delicious! I got used to start miso soup first but typically corn soup is popular in Korea to give good appetite. The service was super fast, friendly. Price and quality both are great. I didn't know they had happy hour all day. We got 50% off for the 2nd roll. I didn't see any Japanese, korean staff including manager here. Seemed like korean ownership but no one was korean. Haha... We found a great sushi place again near our home. Definitely come again... My wife said, I wanted to try ice cream macarons but I was full. We will try other foods like Udon combo w tempura, Donburi, some macarons, and etc next time. Great vibes, great taste for sushi lovers. Loved happy hour.

In general, lots of sushi chefs are korean not Hispanic, not Japanese and restaurant owners as well. Lots of customers are young people. That is why the restaurant has toy, doll vending machine at the entrance, very popular in Japan and Korea. For the menus, lots of choices for specialty rolls, Sushi, Donburi, Udon, appetizers, and all different entrées, and desserts including ice cream Macarons. Wow....so many even Sake list. Too many to go over... I can't taste everything. Too many... The servers are very friendly. The service was so fast even the dinner time was around 6. I really liked all including ambiance, price, quality, and service today. Happy Hour: all day, 2nd specialty roll is 50% off. My hubby liked here for the young, energetic, trendy vibe w quality of specialty rolls and friendly service. We had 2 Dragon rolls and 1 Super Philly roll. Sooooo good, perfect rice, perfect eel sauce, little smaller than other sushi places. We loved the flavors. We will definitely come back for the different menu. I want to try ice cream Macaron next time. I am from France....miss the desserts like macarons. Overall, we had a great dinner tonight.

My son loves revolving sushi because he gets to grab plates like it is a mini game, but tonight the belt was moving slow. There were long stretches where nothing came by. I understand keeping food waste down, but it definitely toned down the fun. We were seated right away. Service was fine. When we sat down, someone had just left the bar and their plates and cans stayed there a little longer than I wanted to see. A quicker cleanup would have helped the vibe. From the belt, I grabbed a Monster Roll and a Hidden Dragon Roll. My son grabbed edamame, a Volcano Roll, and then the chocolate mousse cake because the conveyor basically advertised it like a commercial. Honestly, the chocolate mousse cake ended up being the best part of the night. Creamy, mildly chocolatey, and sitting on a little cookie crust. We like that. Everything else we tried was decent and the prices were fair. I also ordered the crispy rice tuna. Good crunch, mild tuna, fresh avocado. Solid enough for a midweek stop.
