This location of the chain of Japanese markets is on the smaller side, similar to the Irvine location. The selection is obviously more limited than the huge stores in Costa Mesa or Torrance, so it's unfair to compare it to those, but I still found the items I usually purchase on my Mitsuwa outings (chocolate-covered macadamia nuts, mochi ice cream, teriyaki sauce, curry, etc.). It's a great place to buy Japanese snacks! The woman at checkout was very friendly and personable. There is a small food court here with 3 or 4 options (glad to see Santouka Ramen is here) and the Royce chocolates stand near the entrance is impressive.

Nice new Mitsuwa marketplace where you can eat prepared food from the food court, buy packaged prepared food (bentos and sushi), or do grocery shopping for Japanese products. I had a sushi assortment and some lotus root appetizer and my nephew had the pork katsu bento. Both were very good and of course less pricey than a sit down restaurant. I've found it to be a good alternative to fast food when you're just in the mood for something familiar for a reasonable price. After 6pm or so, prepared items (in the grocery section, not the made to order food court) gets discounted by about 50% - good if you're wanting something like the expensive tuna belly nigiri.

Finally a mitsuwa closer to me! Although this store is much smaller than the one I usually frequent in Costa Mesa, they still offer the same things I usually get so it's definitely more convenient for me. It's also less traffic going this way rather than towards Costa Mesa. This Mitsuwa also has a decently sized food court with one of my favorite ramen shops (Santouka) as well as a few other food shops including a bakery and soon to open Royce confections shop (yay!) This store also has more sale items and items on special. I've noticed a lot of special sales every time I've come in. Parking is sometimes difficult during busy hours as they do share a parking lot with a huge 24 hour fitness.

The store is nice but the options are limited when it comes to groceries. The food court is almost the same size as the grocery store. There's plenty of seating and different spots to hang out, which makes it a great place to relax and enjoy a matcha or a meal. I do agree with a lot of other reviews, I wish the store was bigger with more variety. I picked up a few grocery items and wanted something quick to eat so I picked up a couple onigiri from the store. I also checked out the omusubi shop inside the food court but their onigiri looked a bit rice heavy for my preference. Price wise, they're pretty similar about $2.50 in store vs. $2.70 at the shop. I'd probably come back for mochi or matcha but for grocery shopping I still prefer places like H Mart or Mitsuwa Marketplace in Irvine.

Mitsuwa Marketplace officially opened in Cypress in early November 2025. I usually visit the one in Costa Mesa, but this location also offers a variety of interesting and unique foods and merchandise, along with a nice food court that serves reasonably priced sushi. The food court and dining area are immediately on the right. The most popular spot is Santouka Ramen, while on the left you'll find gift shops like Royce, Hattendo, and Yamari Matcha. The market itself is quite small. When I visited on a weekday evening, the shelves were already half empty with no restocking. Most meat packs are small, prices are average, and some items are expensive. Parking can be very difficult.

I am generally a huge fan of Mitsuwa locations, and I was really looking forward to visiting this new location in Cypress. Mitsuwa is a really great store to find Japanese food and ingredients. A hidden gem is their food court and, in this location, they have Santouka Ramen, rice/curry bowls, and musubi stores. Compared to other Mitsuwa locations (eg: Torrance, Costa Mesa), this is one of the smaller locations that you will find. I came here to get simple ingredients to cook hot pot at home. I was able to find some limited, expensive wagyu selections, some tofu, and some vegan broths; however, their selection of meat broths, vegetables, and meats were very lacking. I couldn't get mushrooms, meat broths, greens. Sauce/meat options were limited. I only was able to find a quarter of what I needed for dinner, and I had to go to H-Mart to get the rest. I feel that the store was clean; however, the stock is very limited and, for me to return regularly, I need to know that I can rely on them to have what I need for basic Japanese foods.

Finally made a visit to Mitsuwa Market! I waited for the hype to die down. Parking. I visited on a weekday around 10am. Parking was scarce in the front lot but plenty on the side. I noticed several that did find spots in the front walk over to 24 hr fitness instead. On the side of 24 hr fitness, there is plenty of parking. I can't imagine trying Tomlinson a spot during lunch or dinner hours (which seems to be what this place is marketed towards, prepared food). They really need to work with the landlord to restrict parking for for the market. There are a few 20 minute only spots, but if you have to wait for your Food Court order, that may not be enough time. This is a very scaled down Mitsuwa, if you are familiar with their ither stores. Food Court has only three vendors with a fourth coming soon. At 10am only two of the three were open. Katsu/Curry vendor, Rice Ball vendor, and a Ramen vendor. The Ramen vendor hadn't opened yet. Reviewing the Katsu/Curry vendor (not good!) on their Yelp Business. Food Court has lots of tables but this was not the lunch rush, not sure how packed it may get. The market is very small (reminds me of an upscale 7-11). Some fresh produce, some snacks but mostly prepared food. Lots of hot and ready to eat Bento Boxes and Rice Balls. Good selection of Sashimi and Sushi. I picked up.some Ahi Sashimi, very fresh and excellent quality! They also.had some Mochi in their deli Case along with a confectionery vendor just outside the market area. I picked up from both and the Mochi was very good! The vendor has a very nice selection of flavors! Definitely plan to return. I plan to piick up Bento Boxes from the market side (the Torrance store has great ones) to try on my next visit.

Mitsuwa Marketplace is truly a hidden gem and an absolute must-visit for anyone who loves authentic, flavorful cuisine. The highlight of my visit was definitely the curry. It was incredibly rich, perfectly seasoned, and packed with bold flavors that immediately made an impression. Each bite was better than the last, and it is easily one of the best curry dishes I have ever had. I cannot wait to return and try more of their menu because the quality and care they put into each dish is undeniable. Although the marketplace is a little tucked away and might be easy to miss if you are not looking closely, it is absolutely worth the effort to find. Once inside, the environment is welcoming and comfortable. The staff goes above and beyond to make the experience enjoyable. Our servers were exceptionally friendly, patient, and helpful, answering all of our questions with a smile and making us feel right at home. You can tell that they genuinely enjoy their work and take pride in helping customers have a great experience. The place itself is clean, well organized, and thoughtfully laid out. It has a cozy atmosphere that encourages you to take your time, enjoy your meal, and explore the other offerings the marketplace has. From the moment you walk in, you get the sense that this is a place that cares about both the food and the customer experience. Overall, Mitsuwa Marketplace delivers an outstanding dining experience that combines incredible food, excellent service, and a welcoming environment. If you are in the area, do not miss it. This is the kind of place you return to not just for the food, but for the entire experience. I am already planning my next visit and highly recommend it to anyone looking for top quality curry and exceptional service.

I drove half an hour to this fairly new store and to my disappointment it was absolutely tiny. I guess I'm used to huge Mitsuwa supermarkets. Hence the reason why I was a little sad that it was so small. The staff are very helpful and the selection was really nice for how small the store is.

How do you properly rate a grocery store. You can't really base on service since most of the things you do or need are self serve. I guess what I like about this Mitsua Marketplace in Cypress is that it's much closer to my house than going to Torrance or Costa Mesa. I do like that they offer a lot of cooked or prepared foods. There's a lot of prepaid sushi options, but there's also a very good selection of raw fish ready to be sliced for sashimi. The value of these items are great. i.e. a decent size salmon filet for sashimi around 7.00 which is how much you'd pay at a restaurant and get only two pieces. Ootoro for $30.00 that can yield several slices as opposed to maybe two slices at a Japanese sushi restaurant. Overall, the grocery store of this Mitsua Marketplace will be a regular stop when I'm feeling lazy to prepare dinner. The marketplace also has a food court with right now, three food vendors, Omusubi Gonbei, Tokyo Shokudo and Hokkaido Ramen Santouka. They also have specialty items like Royce Chocolates, coffee, sweet Buns and they also sell Baked cheesecake tart ice cream.

I was so glad to see a recently opened Mitsuwa in the same parking lot when charging our car last Sunday. We came in to grab some quick dinner and bought some snacks. They have a pretty good-sized and clean dining area with a microwave. So convenient! While we're deciding whether to order from one of the 3 restaurants in the food court or buyready to eat items from the supermarket, we saw one of the staff marking down sushi items. There're still a lot of options available. Two of us ended up getting 3 items from Mitsuwa to share, and the other person ordered from one of the restaurants. The discounted otoro sushi and hot eel bowl were definitely a great deal! The taste was not bad, just as you'd expect from a Japanese grocery store. Would come back again around 6pm to charge our car and get the marked down sushi/hot food while we're in the area next time.

I heard from friend who resides in Cypress that this market had its grand opening and includes a Japanese food court. I arrived on a Sunday for lunch and the parking lot was at capacity. Currently there's three options to dine at with an additional space open for a Tennant. There's also several open market shops that offer hot and cold beverages, pastries, gifts and mochi. The market is on the smaller side compared to sister markets but this location is closer to home which is convenient. The market offers ready to eat foods like nigiri, sashimi, karrage, sake, and your other Japanese deli items. Many items were sold out due to the heavy volume of customers. I'm happy Mitsuwa opened this location and I'll be visiting this store in the future.

Super excited when I heard Mitsuwa was opening up nearby my area! I purposely avoided the first month since they opened because the hype was crazy! Although the size is considered small comparing to other Mitsuwa places, they have small food court too aaaannnnddd Santouka is here! All the staff are nice and friendly, parking is easy too because I mainly go at night time The food court is clean and aesthetic , hopefully they'll add more restaurants soon!

The Zarusoba was good, but it would be nice if they gave a bit more sauce for dipping. I also got a Sashimi Salad, which had a lot of sashimi! It had salmon, tuna, and a white fish. Pretty good, but it could have used a little more dressing as well. The Combination Plate with Salmon and Tempura was enjoyable. It comes with a piece of salmon, a variety of tempura (shrimp, broccoli, sweet potato, onion), side salad, miso soup, rice, tempura sauce, and teriyaki sauce. Salmon was cooked well, and I liked all of the tempura! Their Lunch Specials are originally what caught my eye, but it seems like they don't have anything similar for dinner. Instead, everything is a la carte with the exception of a few combination plates. I wish they would do dinner specials similar to their lunch specials! Parking here is pretty difficult. The lot gets packed with several cars circling around hunting for a spot. They're also going some construction right now which doesn't help. You also get raisins which makes the curry even sweeter. For $26, it's not a good price point for this type of dish. You can get this dish for much cheaper at other establishments. But I must agree with other reviewers on certain aspects. The nori is very soft and chewy. It's not separated from the warm gohan itself. So if you're accustomed to onigiri with crisp nori, you will be disappointed. Depending on which kind of omusubi you're getting, I also agree that it may definitely feel like there's a lot more rice than the filling. I usually get the mentaiko, ebiten, and oyster musubis. I feel as though those are actually consistently good. The saltiness of the fillings really offsets the amount of rice included and makes it work. My other favorite flavors are takana and shiso. The two goes perfectly well with the karaage they sell separately. Another thing is that the rice itself is actually seasoned and not plain, which helps. Chashu and other fillings like eel has been a miss at this location. Same with their tuna and salmon offerings. I must admit I'm especially not a huge fan of their tuna offerings. It uses too much katsuobushi flavor in my opinion. I like mine more mayo forward. The service here can be a hit or a miss. It really depends on who is working there and what time/day of the week it is. Same goes with the availability of seatings. Parking is free but can be a hassle to find a close spot because of the proximity to the gym, superchargers, and other businesses.

Service was solid too, our server kept checking in on us but it wasn't too much. I got the chicken katsu combo plate, the chicken was crispy which I liked. My fiancé got the summer rolls, no complaints, and the salmon was fresh. Overall just a good experience, I'd come back.

There was only one server and what it appeared to be one person in the kitchen. I ordered: - Combo A (Chicken Teriyaki with a choice of Gyoza or Cali Roll): I replaced the rice with extra salad. The salad came with a neon pink dressing that was a bit sweet. The salad wasn't properly dried, unfortunately, as there was a pool of water at the bottom. Though some pieces of the chicken was a bit dry, the bed of cabbage underneath soaked up some of the juices and glaze, compensating for the lack of moisture. The Cali Roll was packed and a solid side to the meal. - Rainbow Roll: Though it had large cuts of fish, it unfortunately was not the freshest I've tasted, and also not very tightly rolled. - Crunch Philadelphia Roll: Though not as tightly rolled (it fell apart slightly when I tried picking up a piece), I appreciate that they didn't skimp on the cream cheese. My favorite sushi so far from the 3. The food was prepared quickly, and everything totaled about $42-45, which I thought was reasonable. They have a few minor things to improve upon, but I can see this being a place college students can get food to-go between classes or even shopping patrons dining at for a decent meal.

These are the sort of eateries I seek out when I go to Japan as they are affordable, filling, and satisfying. Just as they do in Japan, they have a large display case on the wall which is filled with a couple dozen realistic plastic displays of the various plates they offer. It makes it easy to see what you'll be getting and helps me make a decision. I was there for a late lunch and ordered the pork katsu curry plate and also, for an additional fee, added an omelette on top of the rice (omu-curry). I was given a pager by the friendly fellow at the counter and my meal was made in less than ten minutes. I sat and ate in the clean, comfortable food court. The pork was good quality, very tender, with a crunchy panko coating. The rice was done perfectly and the omelette on top was delicious with a buttery taste and soft texture. I loved the curry; it had excellent flavor and complemented the pork well. There were also some slices of hard-boiled egg and some bits of radish on the plate as well as a cabbage salad. My single complaint is that the salad had no dressing so was rather "blah" compared to everything else. I call these places fast-food katsu. They are all over Japan. Not as fancy as high-end katsu restaurants, where the pigs have been massaged daily before becoming tonkatsu, but satisfying comfort-food versions. To this end, this place delivers flawlessly. It's delicious!

Tokyo Shokudo's menu is pretty vast and includes a wide range of Japanese comfort foods. From rice bowls to udons and sobas, they've got it all! I went with their Pork Katsu Curry Udon. It wasn't particularly good, but it wasn't terrible. The katsu filet had a nice crisp to it and the curry udon was comforting. It didn't particularly wow me as I've had better elsewhere, but it was perfectly fine. A small note is that I think the bowl was a bit too small for what it was. I found myself really trying to dig deep to reach the noodles. By the time I got to them, it felt like a lot of the curry had already got soaken up. I think as an udon dish, its components could've been more well rounded.

Lots of seating. All tables were preset with paper placemats, napkins and chopsticks. Glasses of water & lemon slices arrived while we searched the menu. Each of us selected the lunch bento box: choice of entree with green salad, tempura veggies/shrimp, bowl of rice, California roll sushi and delicious miso soup. Whoa. Lots of food. Half of us selected an entree of teriyaki chicken, the others ordered teriyaki fish (salmon or mackerel). Ginger, wasabi and low-sodium soy sauce were available upon request. The food was tasty and plentiful. Everyone brought home half their meal for dinner. Exceptional service. Since it's so close to Easter one of our members brought treats: milk chocolate bunnies, Dubai chocolate drops, and an assortment of Easter cookies and candies. We did not order dessert. Parking is limited right now because of current construction in the lot and while it's a busy shopping center there's usually adequate parking.
