It's a husband and wife run spot, and while they can come off a bit brusque, you can tell they work efficiently as a strong team and really know their kitchen. The standout for me was the yum nuea salad, a Thai beef salad. Fresh, flavorful, and only $10, which is an incredible deal for the portion and quality. I'm already planning to come back to try more, especially the pho at just $7.25 for a regular bowl. A quiet and peaceful spot. This place really deserves more attention. They have SHOCKINGLY affordable prices on their entire menu. Anywhere you go, where meals like this would normally cost upwards of $17-20 per plate, Double Bamboo averages about $10 an entree. My order consisted of a green curry entree and an order of a 2pc egg roll for a total of about $13. And get this...the entree CAME with a free side of rice (portions are good too, I ate half of my food and saved the rest for later). The value here is simply UNBEATABLE, especially in this economy. Is the food gonna blow your mind? Probably not. While the green curry was warm and tasty, it probably could've used a little more flavor and depth. Egg rolls were fine. It was a completely serviceable lunch that filled me up, made me happy, and didn't break the bank. I am ABSOLUTELY coming back here for the great prices and satisfying food. When I went, it was just a little old man and woman (probably husband and wife) running the whole place. We should be supporting these small, local businesses who aren't trying to rip people off with exorbitant prices or serving people crap food. They seem like nice people just trying to get by. The prices are great and food is also good. Only thing I would say why I put 3 stars is because they charge extra if you want more hot sauce. The sauce is in a container mixed with hoisen sauce. So you do not get siracha packets if you order to go. If you eat in I don't know. read more

Authentic human connection is an extremely rare and precious thing. I lost my dearest wife on 2/3/25 to a massive heart attack. We've eaten at Double Bamboo so many, many times. She loved the place. Owners Loi and Le know us well. We've been going there for over 10 years. Husband Loi speaks a bit more English than his wife Le, but that's never been an issue for us. The food is consistently good and the service is always prompt. Prices simply cannot be beat. A close friend carried me there as he and others rallied around in support. He's also eaten there a lot. Le remembered what he always ordered even though he hadn't been there in some time. Loi asked where my wife was and I shared my loss. My tears flowed. Loi called for Le and these fine people were emotional, direct and profound in their response. They comforted me and shared their concern for my pain, Loi saying that they loved her and her smile, and that she was in Heaven now. Le asked Loi to interpret for her and when she shared with me, I realized that you can get food anywhere, but what I received from them is damn hard to find. I don't need to relay the exact words, but the authenticity and love from them blew me away. I thanked them from the bottom of my heart for the grace and hospitality they had always so amply shown. You can go to faceless, corporate, chain-restaurants. You can go to fancy places. You can go to the latest fad spot that just wants to take money out of your pocket. Please support small local businesses especially during COVID! I ordered takeout over the phone today for the first time and it was a great experience. Double Bamboo offers a wide range of both Vietnamese and Thai dishes! Go to Yelp photos and you'll be able to see the whole menu. I got the small #7 pho, Double Bamboo tofu, and the pork and egg roll vermicelli, which all came out to be under $23. The portions are all very generous and if you'd like an even larger size of the pho, I think it's only $1-$2 more. Pho broth was light and non greasy, and I loved that the broth was piping hot even when I took it home to enjoy. The tofu came stir fried in a spicy basil sauce with onions, peppers, mushrooms, and eggplant and served with a side of white rice. Super flavorful and fresh. Lastly, the vermicelli was also great with crisp veggies and tender meat over a bed of vermicelli. Everything tasted made to order. Service was also great - an older gentleman took my order (I think he is the owner / chef) and a woman who may be his wife rang me up. Food: 99% My friend and I happened to come upon this small and cute restaurant as we were craving for spring rolls. The price here is very cheap and affordable. And let me tell you, when the spring roll came out I GASPED. It was small but was PACKED. Love that. The pho broth was so smooth, savory, and it wasn't the usual pho as it had plenty of assorted vegetables which I'm not use to but other than that it was delicious.
