It has a real family-run feel and a truly welcoming, homey atmosphere. It feels just like coming back to your own home, with the staff treating you like a mother or grandmother would. The food is superb, too. There is a Panda Express chain restaurant right nearby, but once you've tasted the food here, you won't want to get Chinese food anywhere else. I highly recommend it. Their hot and sour soup is absolutely exquisite.

coconut shrimp entree with chow mein as the side. Good amount of shrimp. can sub for fried rice, or white rice, or half & half.

Great and unique spot. Food is made in smaller portions so it's always fresh. You're given the unique option of pay per pound or the classic entree and sides. Value wise I would say it's pretty good. I got the coconut shrimp entree with chow mein, $15.50 for the portion, and my partner opted for the pay by the plate and got 1 pound. You're not gonna get your plate stuffed like some Chinese places do but I feel like I got well enough for what I paid. Main selling point is that the food quality was really fresh! Also something that is really important to note is I didn't feel awful after eating like I do with most Chinese food places in the area. A con I'd say is it really was dicey with the pay by plate thing, no idea what you'd weigh in at as a first time goer so it's a little bit uneasy. I've attached a photo of what 1lbs looks below as a reference. I think I'd recommend maybe trying a little bit of everything via the pay by the plate and next time come back and buy the entree plate with the protein of your choosing!

Great food for a great price just know the food is charged by the weight. Definitely would come here over a place like Panda Express.

The tangsuyuk here is FOCKEN FIRE The batter is perfectly crispy and cronchy and the meat inside is so juicy and yummy. The sauce is so good, it's tangy, sweet, sour just MUAH! I ate tf out this dish.. we had to order rice bc it was so addicting... I dream about the tangsuyuk bro I usually order the jjamppong but I think the soup lacks some flavor and spice even tho I added a gang load of chili powder. They do pack that bih was hella seafood tho, like plump ass shrimps, squid, octopus and mussels. I think the jajangmyun is bomb!! It's so yummy, the sauce is perfect. I'll be getting this all the time now~ The Kung pao chicken is yummy too. Lots of chicken and I lovelovelove the spiciness in it. The peanuts add the perfect lil cronch as well The service here is great, servers are attentive and very informative when we asked a million questions This place is awesome!! Highly highly recommend for anyone looking for some dank ass Korean Chinese food

My favorite is jajangmyun, the black bean noodles. I love the food, it's a comfort food for me, but I tend to feel a bit of a food coma after a meal here. The criticisms in reviews don't seem fair. Some reviewers write about a rude attitude from employees and a belief that people who speak the Korean language are treated better than those who don't. I've seen people who only speak English and are courteous being treated warmly. Furthermore, the employees here don't miss a beat. The timing of when the entrees arrive to the table after ordering has been consistent over the years. I have not ever waited long for the kimchi, rice, and entrees to arrive, and for our family to be eating. Everything tastes the same as when I first started going decades ago, which is fantastic.

Sam Woo Cafe: satisfying, flavorful, and worth the wait if you time it right. Love at first visit!…read more Sam Woo Cafe in Artesia is order-from-the-picture-menu dim sum, not cart service. You fill out a short form at the podium (party size, name, phone) and join an electronic queue. Texts update your status, but stay close; tables free up in clusters after a long wait. Go early for lunch or expect a crowd. The dining room is bright and comfortable but gets noisy once full. I ordered: - Pork & Shrimp Shiu Mai (two orders of 5) - Scallop with Shrimp Dumplings (3) - Shrimp with Chives Dumplings (3) - Steamed BBQ Pork Buns (3) - Baked Egg Custard tarts (3) - Young Chow Fried Rice with added Lap Cheong (cured pork, +$2) Everything was good. Standouts were the scallop-shrimp dumplings and the pork & shrimp shiu mai. The Young Chow Fried Rice with the extra Lap Cheong was excellent. The baked egg custard tarts were textbook and remain a personal favorite since childhood. A neighboring older Chinese woman offered me a sample of the Pork Hame Sui Gok; it was outstanding and I will order it next time. I shared some of my extras with her in return. Service was attentive, Ricky was quick with food and drinks. The same woman had already told me "he's the best." I deliberately ordered extra for leftovers (dinner that night and breakfast before an early flight home to the Carson Valley). Will definitely return and have added it to my Long Beach Yelp collection.

When I walked in and saw the outside I was wondering why my friends choose this place, it looked from the outside like a small shop, but when I walked in it was way bigger and authentic. Jokes on me. Ordered a bunch of dim sum dishes, everything came out quickly. They even have dessert samples in the front. In San Francisco they would never have dessert samples at a dim sum place so that was a plus for our group. Tea is around $5 a pot. Potstickers were a hit and so was the beef chow fun. Those were 5/5 The beef jook is a skip, kind of tasted runny like powder and no real flavor with weird small bits of beef that looked like bacon bits. 2/10 Other than that the dim sum was solid amd came out hot and fresh. Same with the Chinese broccoli. Skip the lemon iced tea. Tasted like it was from a packet and it was horrible. 0/10 Would definitely come back for their dim sum though.

For $16.99, we ordered chow mein with double orange chicken and charsiu. It's a meal for two turned out to be enough for four people! The lady was really nice, since we only wanted the chicken she told us a new batch is coming out in five minutes instead of serving us the "old" batch. And the chicken was amazing. Real big chunks of chicken thigh perfectly glazed with sauce and well fried outer coat layer. This is what real fake Chinese food we are talking about. The char siu wasn't too sweet but is on the drier side but the meat is lean not so fatty. Place is small but well kept dining area. Customers come in nonstop, and everyone was ordering the orange chicken, and each box was stuffed until can't close! I am risking to post this and ungatekeep this local spot but the food and value quality they offer really deserve a spotlight.

I didn't know they were popular on social media, as I just did a yelp search for jalapeño chicken and saw how massive the quantity of food that they give you is. When they put the fried rice and noodles in the container, I was thinking they were going to use that as a filler and give me very little meat. It was so much food, I almost wanted to tell them they could take some out. Kung pao chicken and the jalapeño chicken have been my two regular items, but I may change it up to test the others and see how those taste too.
