I've also tried the fried chicken, and the skin is super crispy and delicious. Pretty unexpected to find good fried chicken at a Hainan chicken place, but it's a nice surprise. You can add a piece of fried chicken to the Hainan chicken plate, which is what I'd recommend. Looks like a lot of people get takeout from here. I've had this place on my "must try" list for some time, so I made a point to start knocking things off that list and here I am! Maxwell Chicken Rice is located in a shared parking lot but it is tiny and easy to miss if you are on the main street. It is next to the animal hospital! I didn't combine everything but I did try all 3 together and it was good! The spicy sauce REALLY has a kick to it, so be warned if you don't handle spice well! Something to note is that they have a $1 dine in discount. I was ordering takeout so I did not get the discount, but maybe next time I will eat there! Chicken is juicy and flavorful. I happened to find this place the other day while walking in the strip mall it was in. I walked in and was greeted by the owner (?) and was given brief of how to order and what was popular. I selected the Hainan Chicken combo. It came with Hainan chicken, a fried chicken drumstick, rice, a cup of broth, a small side of marinated cucumbers, and 3 sauces. The food overall was pretty tasty. The Hainan chicken is served at room temperature which threw me off just a tad. He said to mix all the sauces together, but I don't really like doing that. There's some sort of hot sauce, soy sauce, and some sort of herbal one?? They were all good, but they soy sauce type was my favorite.
