Dropped by here for lunch and they're not too busy during Covid times. They have the prettiest little patio outdoors with a fireplace and marble top tables. You order and pay at the counter and then are seated by a host. Service was good and food was prepared quickly. I ordered food to split with a friend and we got: The Steak Salad (3.75/5): The presentation was very photogenic but somewhat impractical as all the different components were very separate and hard to mix. I did love the dressing and the greens were very fresh. The walnuts and caramelized onions were a nice touch that added good flavor to the salad. The steak was grilled perfectly and was nice and tender but there were only a few pieces of meat in comparison to the rest of the items. Zoe's Pepperoni (4/5): You can taste the quality in this pizza! The red sauce seems housemade and there is an ample amount of pepperoni. I'm pretty disappointed with my last experience here. My mom and I used to frequent a lot. My sister even had a birthday party here and we were talking about having another one as we waited. My mom and I went to lunch with my puppy on the outside patio. We ordered 2 salads, 2 pizzas a beer and a mineral water. Most of the salad was wilted - pictures attached. The part I'm most disappointed with was I got up to use the restroom and a huge piece (about 2 inches) of wood poked me and got stuck in the leg of my pants from the bench. I'm 9 months pregnant. So I went to the restroom and checked. I did have a red mark, but the angle and me being so pregnant, it was really hard to get a look in their bathroom stall. So we talk to the manager at the time, Soraya. She obviously did not care. She had a "that sucks for you" attitude. No apology, no empathy. Not that I want a pity party, but damn. So we talk to her again, show her the huge piece that came out (cause she was thinking it was a small splinter - still no reaction.) Then she said she will talk to another manager, Michelle, because it was her last day and she wouldn't be there anymore. Now I see why she didn't care, she was leaving. We also talk to another woman, curly short dark hair, mid 40s maybe. She was also the same way, no apology or anything! Her whole attitude were the owners were SUPPOSED to have it refinished, it's damaged from the rain, blah blah.... Well, hello? Why are people sitting on it if you know it's damaged?! She just had excuses. No apology or even offering of anything. I mean, as a manager you're supposed to do something kind of nice, right? Anyway, it's unsettling and I will not be going back. $70 lunch and it was a huge let down. (The pizza was good though) Ps. Just to add. The place was empty. I was in the restroom twice within 10 min. Once to use it and the other to check my leg. One blonde lady cook was walking out as I went in. I went to the same stall - the one with the actual door and she didn't flush. It's just pee but I don't want to see that especially it being a cook making my food. read more

Beautiful location. Huge airy room with a big patio. Great service. They really do vegetables well. I'm such a fan of everything they do, but the farmer's market plate is always so right on. I opted for that today and skipped my usual chopped salad which is one of the best salads around. Every Pitfire pizza I have tried has always been excellent. Today I did the honey bear which is super with a great kick to it. Calabrian Chili is the way to go if you like spice. They use a spinach linguine and we really liked this dish. The bbq chicken pizza had really good flavor; the bf expected it to be more flavorful but he also prefers a heavier and richer taste. Super yummy! My favorite was the one that had honey AND spices! It was sweet and spicy and the ricotta cheese on it was nice and crumbly and it all went together so well. I would order this again. That said, the 2 other pizzas we got were only ok, and keep on mind that these pizzas are a lot smaller than competitors like Blaze, and almost double their price. The 3 pizzas came out to around $40, where you could get 1 large & 2 personals at Blaze for $25. Not sure the elevated price here is worth it for anything other than the Honey Bear pizza. read more

Excellent pizza, sides and salads, especially the salads. Everything here is a bit pricey, but definitely worth it. We're normally not a fan of white sauce pizzas, but the heirloom tomato pizza was full of juicy ripe tomatoes withe the right balance of ricotta cheese. Pizzas here are just one size (enough for 2 people) and just the right amount of thickness on the crust, not too thick or thin, somewhere in the middle. Grilled corn on the cob was delicious and soft, with little bits of crumbled cheese, and with a bit of smokiness that wasn't overwhelming. Heirloom tomato bowl was superb, with little hints of mint and parsley, with a nice vinaigrette dressing. Steak salad was hands down the best we've ever had, with medium rare steak, copious amounts of tomatoes and greens, candied walnuts, crumbled blue cheese and a pleasant creamy vinaigrette dressing. Their lemonade is also made in-house from scratch and very refreshing with just the right amount of sweetness, not a sugar bomb like the Minute Maid stuff everyone else uses. We tried their classic and black cherry lemonade and wish they had bigger sizes for their drinks. Also, despite showing up within 10 minutes of closing and wanting to do take-out, the young lady working that night (I think Mayra was her name) was very friendly, took our order and nicely answered all of our food allergy related questions. Pitfire is the perfect pizza spot for all dietary restrictions which is a must in California. We got a mix of different pizzas, regular Margherita, vegan Margherita and their seasonal tomato pizza and then their avocado citrus salad and vegan Caesar. The pizzas were all really good, I loved their vegan cheese! Their side dishes left a lot to be desired, the portion sizes were really small and the bland. For example for the avocado citrus salad it only have one tiny piece of citrus and the Caesar was just a box of lettuce, some nutritional yeast and a not even full side of the dressing. I've been eating at Pit Fire for over 25 years. In August I can't wait to order the heirloom tomato pizza - it's delicious. But something changed. My pizza had almost no ricotta on it and the tomatoes were ICE cold. It was an odd combination to have warm crust and refrigerated tomatoes, not even cool or room temp - COLD. Also that was it just crust and tomatoes. It didn't even have basil. I won't order it again or won't visit this location again. read more

Spent $112 this evening on cold pizza and pasta that was delivered over an hour after it said it was on its way, their website didn't make it clear that door dash does their deliveries. Although it's beyond their control, DoorDash also won't allow me to complain because it wasn't fulfilled through their website but the pizza places. Seems unfair to spend that much money and wait that long to receive all cold food. Hopefully the restaurant can use this to help better service for others in the future read more

This place is so close to being good. Service was great. We had the pepperoni pizza. Pepperoni and cheese are both good, but the sauce was very bland. Put a good sauce on there, that's a very good pizza. We also ordered the buffalo wings. They only have boneless, so when they guy asked at the counter if I wanted boneless, I asked "do you have bone in?" He said "no" Haha! Why ask? The buffalo sauce was great, but the chicken sucked.
