I'd heard about Fuji & Vi's years ago but never got around to visiting since it's a bit of a drive. We happened to be in the area recently and decided to finally stop by. If you're visiting with a stroller, I'd recommend leaving it behind if possible. There are no elevators and while ADA-accessible ramps are available, they were somewhat out of the way. The walkways are also very narrow, with tables from neighboring eateries further limiting the space. The restaurant itself is quite small, with only three indoor tables that seat four people each, no outdoor seating available. Since all the tables were occupied, we opted for takeout. When we arrived, no one was at the counter so we had to ring the bell to get assistance. The Detroit-style pizza was delicious and definitely lived up to expectations. The crust was perfectly crispy, and the pizza had great flavor overall. My only major complaint was the temperature inside the restaurant. The thermostat was showing 87 degrees, and it felt very warm. Standing inside for just a few minutes while ordering was uncomfortable so I can't imagine dining in and enjoying a hot pizza in those conditions. Despite the heat and limited seating, the pizza itself was delicious and worth trying if you're in the area.

Yummy Detroit style pizzas with a great weeknight pizza deal (buy one get one 50%). Fed my little family of 3 and even had a couple slices for lunch the next day. Great flavor and good amount of toppings/cheese. The lady at the front was so nice. One warning though, the salads come pretty dressed so don't order it and then drive home with one hour traffic because they will be supremely soggy. I should have asked for dressing on the side.

We ordered the double pepperoni pizza. It was amazing. What a surprise. The Detroit style lives on. The crust was crispy all around. The ingredients were super high quality. The sauce was perfectly tangy. The cheese was oozy and had the pull we all love on a pizza. We enjoyed the meal to the last bite. The shop was small and hidden but was soooo busy. There was a consistent flow of foot traffic's for being on the 2nd floor. Friday night to go orders were many and a few diners. The place does not have a restroom so maybe others knew better. It was a great place for a quick yummy bite. The service was delightful and sweet. It only took 15 minutes for a 4 squared pizza. We will definitely be back for more!

Ordered a couple of pizzas and some cheese sticks for an easy dinner after work and was pleasantly surprised since it was my first time trying Fuji & Vi's. I loved the BBQ chicken pizza a lot, it had great flavor, but I'm a weirdo that doesn't love a lot of sauce on pizza and the default here is a bit too much for me. The crust has a great crisp and the pizzas are cooked well. I'm glad they added cheese sticks to the lineup although this was a while ago and they only had the basic with Italian seasoning--menu says they have specialty ones now and I'ma have to try those out. It's located upstairs above Hummus Labs on Colorado, nice and convenient location!

Another good time here. I'm a big fan of Detroit style pizza and this place did not disappoint. The player deluxe is always on point. I wasn't the biggest fan of the Hawaiian version. If you look at it, it didn't really look all the way ready. The ingredients needed just a little more sizzle. There wasn't much space inside. While we waited, there was no one inside and many people making deliveries. Then there was a surge. We ended up going. Service is nice. Lady is friendly.

Really amazing food! This is located upstairs at the corner of Colorado and Mentor, in what I like to call the restaurant corner (seriously, there are a ton of small Mom and Pop restaurants in that corner that you all should go check out!). So, I was impressed by the reviews and wanted something different to eat. It was my first time there and the employee behind the counter was just so nice and patient as he explained everything! I ended up getting the 4-slice pepperoni and a small Greek salad. Now, listen...their 'small' salad is rather big! Like it can easily feed 2-3 people. And the pizza 4-slice can easily feed 2-3. So you need to be aware of that. There was a little wait but everything came out amazing! The pizza was prepared just right and the salad was so delicious! I would literally go back for the salad alone. Now they're located upstairs so wheelchair accessibility might be an issue, but it is so worth it! You won't be disappointed!

(Would give 3.5 stars!) Tried this place because I am on the hunt for good Detroit style pizza! The BBQ chicken pizza was good, I loved the sauce but the chicken was a little dry. The double pepperoni pizza was also good, but I wish it was cooked more in the middle. Overall, solid spot. The best part is for sure the cheesy edges of the pizza. & they do have a good deal Tu/Wed/Thurs BOGO 50% for 4 square pizzas!

COVID-19: Social distancing is not enforced at this establishment. Some of the staff wears a mask. All customers are not expected to wear a mask. It's optional now. The staff also wears gloves when handling food. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is available for take outs and has some indoor seating available with limited capacity. They are not sanitizing in between customers. I mention these things in my reviews for the sake of protecting immunocompromised people like the elderly and people sick with cancer and other illnesses. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was grabbing my food from this establishment several days ago, I asked if they had any special offers, and they were offering buy one get another one 50% off 4 square pizza only that is only available on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. They currently don't have happy hour. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is located behind the building. Fair warning, because they share the parking lot with several other establishments, the lot does get full very quickly, so come early (right when the restaurant opens) and not during peak business hours. Just an FYI, I lowkey struggled to find this establishment. It's located on the second floor and near the a busy restaurant called Old Town Caffe, which is also on the second floor. Food: First time ever having Detroit style pizza. I ordered the 8 square double pepperoni pizza. Super duper cheesy. Lots of pepperoni even though I couldn't really taste the pepperoni thanks to all the cheese. My favorite part of the pizza was actually the crust, which is very surprising because I usually hate pizza crust and would throw the crusts away. Anyways, I loved how crunchy the crusts were. They were just what I needed after having a mouthful of cheese pizza. It was the kind of balance that my palate required. I also lowkey found the amount of cheese on my pizza to be slightly overwhelming, which I guess is a good thing for some people. It was just too much cheese for my liking. I also discovered that I am not a huge fan of deep dish pizza. However, I am not going to hold it against this small mom and pop restaurant because it's not their fault I discovered that I dislike deep dish pizza. Thankfully, I had also ordered a large chicken Caesar salad. They were very generous with the amount of chicken in the salad. However, the chicken on its own was very bland, which was disappointing. I removed one star for that. I was hoping that it would have been grilled or pan seared. Anyways, the flavorless chicken was served over some fresh and crisp romaine lettuce, which was tossed with creamy and rich dressing paired with Parmesan cheese and crunchy and golden croutons. This was the perfect paring with the pizza. Overall, it was interesting and good. Staff: The staff here are very friendly, welcoming, kind, fast, and laidback. They accept both cash and credit cards. There is no credit card minimum.

We went on a Sunday afternoon and service was prompt and friendly. They were able to do half half for us since we have kids who like just plain cheese. The employee also gave us great recommendations since it was our first time. The store is clean and bright and airy. Since it overlooks the street, the kids could watch the cars driving by from our seat by the window. The Greek salad was delicious and a great flavor - definitely worth ordering. The pizza came out deliciously hot and crispy on the outside. Their Detroit style pizza is filling! Parking here is great with a ramp up to a rooftop parking lot and there were plenty of spaces.

The lady who took my owner is this sweet japanese lady. I think she owns the place. She's very nice. I've never had detroit style pizza... and I really enjoyed their pizza. The dough is soft inside with crunchy sides & bottom. I love how they did not skimp on the toppings. If you've never had detroit style pizza... this is a good place to try them

This is the best pizza I've had in a long time. I love pizza so much to the point my hubby has to close my eyes when there is a commercial for pizza lol So when I say the cheese and sauce on this pizza is immaculate. They really took their time and perfected their craft, I'm super impressed and will definitely be ordering again. I ordered take out and it was still so hot and good. Next time I'm going in.

Now this was a great pizza! I actually would make this a new staple pizza place because of how flavorful it was from the crust to the actual sauce and chicken. It really is just great Detroit style pizza in a little hole in the wall place!

Fantastic pizza spot in Pasadena and the only place I know around here serving Detroit-style. The pizzas come out fresh with those cheesy, crispy crust corner pieces that are easily the best part. Recently, we ordered a bunch for a company lunch and it was a huge hit. The double pepperoni was especially popular, but everything we tried was solid. If you're a pizza lover, this spot is a must!

I’m a bit disabled. Is there an elevator to the second level?

If you enter from the side street S. Mentor, there is a upper level parking lot. It does have a ramp which allows access to the second floor businesses.

Why is it called Fuji &Vi? Who is Fuji? Great pizza!

The owners named it after the wife's mother, Fuji, and the husband's grandmother, Violet.

Will Fuji & Vis have gluten free options available?

I didn't come across the option on the menu.

Since I was there with 6 friends, we got two whole pies to share, and I'm so glad we did. The margarita pizza looked great. The toppings were delicious and the cheese was obviously good quality. The sauce was super. But while the crust was beautifully thin and looked like it would be perfect, it was oddly sweet, which put us off a bit. The spicy spring pie (pepperoni) had a thicker crust, almost like a focaccia. It wasn't oddly sweet like the margarita pizza, but it was just too bready. Again, the pepperoni and cheese and the sauce were really good, but the crust was the weak spot. Service was excellent. The only downside of the shop is that there were only a few tables and we had to wait until tables were available. Parking is plentiful on the street (meters) and in local public lots (also paid).

Very unique and good, I look forward to replicating at home with a little more balsamic. I ordered the Settebello $21 pizza as a main entree of which I thought was advertised with pancetta, mushrooms and Italian sausage. Pizza came out hot and fresh, but with prosciutto instead of the perceived menu listed pancetta. Pizza sauce was good, the sausage and mushrooms were great. Crust was a little doughy, not crispy but charcoal charred in places. Not phenomenal but not bad, middle of the road overall. Service started off great but fell flat to the floor. Drinks and food came out on time indicating bar staff and kitchen staff were on point. Waiting staff could up their game. No check up or check in. No offers for drink refills or another round. I've had a lot of pizza from New York City, to Italy, to many destinations in between and this crust is up there as some of the best especially to be based in California. That being said, I've had better pizza. The sauce really left something to be desired. It was underwhelming and a bit bland. The wow factor was definitely missing and sauce tends to really make or break a good slice of pizza. Same goes for the cheese used...It just lacked that yummy cheesy goodness you usually anticipate when you bite into a slice and it didn't help that they were a little skimpy with how much cheese they put on their pizza. I think this place would be phenomenal if they took the time to nail the sauce down and really invested in good quality cheese. They're so close just missing the mark on the flavor. The crust absolutely saves them from being bad but it still made it just an "okay" slice of pizza. The staff at the order window were friendly and helpful. The environment could use a little cleaning but overall it seems like it reflected the hipster/ quick eats vibe they're going for and it works for their business. The service has been consistently friendly and attentive both times I've visited. The food has honestly been fantastic. This has quickly become my go-to spot when I want a really good pizza made with fresh, quality ingredients. The dough is one of my favorite parts, not too heavy, not too thin, and it has the perfect crisp to it. Their macaroni and cheese was amazing too. You can tell they use good quality cheese because it wasn't oily, clumpy, or overly greasy like a lot of places. Everything was smooth, rich, and well balanced. I also tried the broccolini, which tasted really good overall. Personally, I would've loved a little garlic on it and for it to be cooked slightly softer since it was still pretty crunchy, but that's just my own preference and not really a complaint. The Caesar salad was excellent as well. My partner likes dipping pizza in ranch, and the crust (especially the edge) was perfect for that. If you're not a fan of overly saucy pizza, this is definitely for you--the sauce doesn't overpower the sausage or pepperoni. The cheese was evenly distributed, so every bite felt balanced. 3/5 - Broccolini The broccolini was just okay. I liked the char and the slight smoky flavor, along with the hint of lemon and cheese on top. However, I wish it had been blanched a bit more, as it was crunchier than I prefer. The tops were slightly over-charred for my taste, and the texture didn't quite come together. You order before being seated, which is a bit different, and then it's open seating--bar seats, booths, or tables depending on your preference. We chose a corner booth since there was a birthday party in the center of the restaurant. The space can comfortably accommodate groups of 5-10 people. One thing to note (not the restaurant's fault) is that there were children running around quite a bit, which made it feel a little chaotic at times. Since there aren't any activities or designated areas for kids, it would be nice if parents were a bit more mindful so everyone can enjoy their dining experience. The servers were extremely nice and attentive, especially when it came to refilling drinks. You may need to check in with them for things like to-go boxes, but overall the service was solid. Overall, I would come back again.

When you enter The establishment you are immediately aware of the great aromas coming from the kitchen. After walking through some tables and chairs, I was greeted at the counter by a friendly hello and 'how can I help you?' I asked a number of questions concerning the menu. I knew there was pizza but I wanted to know more about their sandwiches and salads. I found out that they do have daily / weekly specials that are a great value. I decided to order a special small Italian sausage pizza and an order of six nude chicken wings with ranch dip on the side. I sat down and waited for the order to be completed. There were a few people at some tables finishing up their lunch. While I was there the phone was constantly ringing with takeout orders. The walls had simple decorations that created a nice ambiance. When my order was called, I was given instructions on how to carry the bag as to not disturb the toppings and cheese on the pizza. As I walked, the smell of the fresh pizza and wings was enticing. The wings were just as I ordered. I enjoyed that they have not been overcooked. The wings were tender and moist. The ranch dressing dipping sauce was a great choice. I look forward to trying some of their other homemade sauces. The Italian Sausage Pizza was cooked just the way I like it. The crust had a nice crisp bottom and great flavor. The toppings of olive and onion were a perfect combination with the Italian sausage. I was happy that I ordered the small size rather than the mini so that I could enjoy some cold pizza the next day. Great flavor even on day two. On another trip I ordered the Italian Grinder Sandwich and a large Antipasto Salad. The salad was full of flavor and fresh vegetables and meats. The sandwich was huge. More ingredients than I expected with a great Italian flavor, the bread was incredible as well. I tried the sandwich both cold and hot and both ways the flavor was the star of this sandwich. I look forward to coming back and enjoying some of the other items on their menu. Fresh pastas are next on my list of things to try. I anticipate that whatever I order will be exceptional!

The cashier casually asked if we still wanted it, and we said yes because we do like the pizza here. They went ahead and made it for us. We were a bit disappointed that there was no apology or any small gesture to make up for the mix-up. It would have been nice if they had communicated the delay better. We'll still come back for the pizza, but I hope they can improve how they handle online orders in the future.

We ordered a spaghetti and meatballs, and it was delivered without the meatballs. Huh. Got fixed. Meatballs are delicious. Better than Charlie's Trio (where it seemed too heavy on the breadcrumbs, which made the whole meatball soggy and meh, although I prefer the marinara sauce at Charlie's - it's sweeter. Mamma's is more tangy, which my partner prefers. Anyway......saucy tangent aside...). We also got a mushroom/spinach pizza which was delicious, and an appetizer of toasted cheese ravioli. They gave us some free garlic knots to start. Delish. You order at the counter and they give you a number. The tables were moderately clean. The (very nice) staff member who came to our table when we realized there were no meatballs asked us to dig under the noodles to see if the meatballs were...hiding? We earnestly asked him, "Do you see any meatballs?" because, I dunno, maybe they were really tiny meatballs? We collectively concluded that there were no meatballs, so some delicious meatballs was brought to our table posthaste. Solid service. They also have this pay-by-the-ounce system of beers, which I had never seen! I've seen it with wines. It's like pinkberry, but with beers! This seems like a great idea if you want to try a few different beers. Might do that next time.

The pizza was amazing, the crust is crispy, buffalo sauce isn't too spicy which we enjoyed. We did order to go and it was still hot when we got home. There's parking on the street right in front or in the back. Many stores close by to walk off the food as well. Stopped by again during the day, unexpectedly it was a Thursday as well. It was empty despite it being close to lunch hour. They have special pizza depending on the day. Today they had a pesto chicken pizza. We got the lunch special as well.
