Just wanted to post new update, ever since my first time our family had come almost every week or every other week. I will say that my favorite way to order the Cesar salad it to have it dressed first, I think it tastes so much better and homogenized. Staff are always friendly here, I think my uncle has made some reputation as he usually comes here to order food to go or dine in. The place is clean and staff will come to clean tables if you ask. They also will help find seating if you're not too sure or if you have a large party they will try to keep us together and recommend outdoor seating and help push tables together. This is t the best seating arrangement for large parties but definitely worth it if you don't mind splitting groups up into two tables. We always get the family meal (Tri tip and ribs) and a pizza. My son still goes for the garlic bread first before anything else. Cesar salad is amazing, I think it's their dressing that makes it so delicious. read more

We went for lunch on a weekday. Lots of customers, lots of tables -inside & outside, no wait to be seated. Order at the front, take the buzzer to a table of your choice & pick up your utensils & napkins on the way. We got meals added on to our lunch - roughly $3 more for a side and a dessert add on. The BBQ chopped salad was yummy! The carrot cake was tasty. It's a personal slice but can be shared. The BBQ chicken was okay but the presentation looked lonely. 2 pieces of chicken on a small silver tray. The breadsticks came separately. On a Saturday afternoon in July, my sister and I decided on a lunch here. It's been a long time that I actually ate inside. I arrived at 11am and waited in line to order. As I was waiting in line, they expanded with more appetizers, sandwiches, and tacos. I decided to stick to my usual garlic 1/4 chicken with tri tip, Caesar salad, 2 bread sticks. It was nice to get my own drink and utensils and plates. The wait for the wasn't too long. The garlic chicken was moist and juicy. I also took a bite of the tri tip and it was tender but it needed more bbq sauce on top. My fav items was the bread sticks and Caesar salad. Been to this location a number of times in the past. Recently, I have been enjoying Stonefire Grill more often, after not coming here for quite some time. Not sure why, there are a number of locations around, just was Mormon my mind. Glad I have gotten back to them. Their food is great, chicken, tri-tip, sides, pasta, pizza etc. everything is great. I really also love their carrot cake, some of the best around. They have some great promos usually, as of this review 4/4/26, they have their stimulus package for 4, Family meal for 4, lunch specials and a great $13 promo that you get a main, a side, breadstick and a desert. The staff is nice at all the locations I have been to, helpful, friendly, welcoming, etc. This location has a ton of seating inside as well as a really nice outdoor patio. Parking lot is big and is connected to a shopping center, so tons of parking. Stonefire also is great to the community, they give students a 15% discount and they give a whopping 50% discount to Military, great discount and great that they do that. Hands down Stonefire Grill always delivers. The service is excellent. Plenty of parking and conveniently next to Trader Joe's. The food here is consistently great. It's that time of the year where they offer one of my favorite salads. The Strawberry Walnut Salad has romaine lettuce, fresh strawberries, mandarin oranges, candied walnuts, gorgonzola cheese, craisins, and apple chips, tossed in a Blood Orange Vinaigrette. It is amazing and the perfect spring/ summer salad. Pairs perfectly with a pizza, some tri tip, and of course those delicious buttery garlic breadsticks. Definitely worth trying out! read more

I just went to Stonefire Grill since they have their $13 Meal Deal and it's only for a limited time! I got Tomesto Pasta with additional sausage, a Caesar salad with Sesame Ginger dressing and a cheesecake on the side. The tomesto was great to eat and SUPER filling! I liked the sesame ginger as it compliments the salad. The cheesecake with blueberry compote was great and adds a nice touch of freshness. The restroom was tucked away in a corner and has 2 stalls. The service was good considering that you would check in with your name. The ambiance is nice with small booths and intimate. I recommend this to everyone who loves a GREAT MEAL and GREAT value. Came here back in January to place a large order for about 20 people. We ordered a few Stimulus packages and called ahead of request that these be put in party trays. Food was solid. I really like their pesto pasta and garlic tri-tip the most and the breadsticks are definitely amazing. If you have a big party I'd highly recommend buying the stimulus package because it comes with so much food. This place is definitely really busy so expect a big wait time. Same plaza next to Trader Joe's and a bunch of other spots, so you already know--parking can be a little wild. Not impossible, but definitely a "say a quick prayer and circle twice" kind of situation. Ambience is usually welcoming, and service is normally nice, which is why we've been here about four times. But whew... this last visit? Built different--in the worst way. We ordered our usual: barbecue chicken salad, nutty, coleslaw, pizza, and breadsticks. Breadsticks came out first like always--hot, fresh, and dangerously addictive. Pizza was actually pretty decent for our first time trying it, so no complaints there. Now... let's talk about my barbecue chicken salad. The chicken was partly uncooked in the middle. I told one of the waiters, and he apologized--cool, appreciated. But then a female waitress came over and asked how I wanted my chicken cooked. Ma'am... was I supposed to say medium rare or well done? It's chicken. I just want it... alive no longer. I waited for the new salad, which then sat on the counter for about 20 minutes. Not even hiding--just chilling there. My husband and I literally watched food go out to every other table while mine stayed in timeout. I finally had to walk up and ask if my salad was ready. No apology. No explanation. Just vibes. We've never had service like this here before, which is why this one hurt a little. Maybe they were overwhelmed, maybe everyone needed a snack break, who knows--but this was definitely the worst visit out of the four. That said... we're still coming back for round five, because the food is usually good and we're hopeful this was just an off day. Stone fire has delicious food and will always have a place in my heart! The portions and prices are great, and the service was friendly. Parking is a breeze in this big plaza. We came here on a random weekday and decided to be big backs and get 4 lunch specials between the both of us.... As the server said "Y'all are eating GOOD today" LOL..... Indeed we did, 2 ribs lunch specials and 2 pesto pasta lunch specials. Main entree, a side (we picked 4 sides of garlic mashed potatoes), and a couple breadsticks. The meat can be a hit or miss at times in terms of the size of the ribs , or the trip tip being a bitttt dry... In this case the mashed potatoes were unfortunately a bit cold and stiff. Stonefire is a staple for me. I love their garlic sauce with their meats, Caesar salad, and pesto pasta! Online ordering for take out is really efficient when you want to be quick! One time I dined in and my order was taking really long and they gave us a slice of cheesecake and basket of breadsticks on the house as an apology for the abnormally long wait. I understand that sometimes things can go wrong and things can unexpectedly get delayed so the little treats were very kind and much appreciated. If you dine in, there is a self serve sauce bar where you can get however much bbq sauce you want! They also have an outdoor seating section and I have brought my two dogs to dine there outdoors with me which I appreciate. I came with a group of 4 on a Sunday afternoon around 5 pm. When we arrived, there was plenty of space to sit inside and on the patio. Order at the counter and then pick your own seating type of place. Our food came out ridiculously quickly and was warm and tasty. I feel like the menu here is good value, and though I don't find the flavors to be particularly sophisticated or unique, the food hits the spot. The staff was friendly and attentive. The ambiance was very "family night out" vibes, lots of kids and pretty noisy. I just went in to purchase two simple items for my mom to eat because she needs to eat soft foods and one of the items she had at another location the cream of corn that she enjoyed I ordered at this location. Turns out we got cornbread smashed into this shareable bucket with a hearty amount of butter. That's not what I ordered. I'm so disappointed with this crummy service. How can this place continue running with this level of service. You can't even get an order right. My mom says it does seem fresh but old from the previous day. We also ordered carrot cake for dessert. It was a bit loud, music was playing and tons of people were talking. I don't think the music was needed. The cashier was patient with my parents because they had questions about the stimulus and the foods it came with. We started waiting for the food at 1:20 pm. We got the food at 1:39 pm. I like that the take out containers were at the drink and utensil station. Alfredo pasta was creamy and noodles were cooked al-dente. It was my favorite out of all the food. Breadsticks were soft. First of all, the carrot cake IS incredible and probably worth coming here just for that. I like their $13 meal deals going on right now, but what I wanted wasn't on there. BF ordered the personal pepperoni pizza and salad. I ordered a chopped bleu cheese wedge with tri tip protein. I tried his pizza... it was just ok. Looked pretty good so I snagged a bite while he was getting refills lol. Pizza seemed a bit salty and the crust was super thin. My wedge salad was super chopped and they chopped up my tri tip too. It had a lot of bleu cheese dressing (too much maybe) and I liked the crispiness. We split the carrot cake that came with his meal deal and it was really good. Time for an update to a 4 star. Since my last review, I've been back at least a 1/2 dozen times. The service has been consistently decent. The cashiers are always friendly and able to get our orders right, except for one time: I asked for no BBQ sauce on my burger, and she repeated the order back to me twice, but I still got BBQ sauce. The food has seen some improvements. The breadsticks are always a hit. The nachos satisfy my cravings and their pesto pasta and salads are full of flavor. Only thing I would pass on is their 'Limited Time' Meatlover's pizza. It sounds better than it tastes, and the tri tip on the pizza is over cooked, fatty and some pieces are too chewy. Other than that, it's a good fast-casual restaurant for us to go with something on the menu for everyone. The menu has a lot to offer--BBQ, salads, pastas--and the portions are generous, which is great if you're dining with a group or taking leftovers home. I had the ribs with fries and my partner ordered a burger. Everything tasted clean and well prepared, definitely enjoyable, but it wasn't quite a must return moment for us at the time. Fast forward to a small catered gathering where Stonefire Grill provided the food, and wow, completely different impression. The lemon garlic chicken breast was incredibly juicy and perfectly cooked, full of flavor, paired with garlic breadsticks and a fresh salad. It was so good that hours later I found myself asking where the chicken came from just so I could order it for future events. A tad bit pricey, but their servings are generous. And you're really not going to find a better refreshment dispensary than the one here. They have all the drinks. But today, I had a bone to pick with these folks. I asked for medium rare tri tip, and they gave me something that's still moving. Basically, trip tip tartare! This place is a long standing staple in Pasadena, having been open for many years. I last visited about 15 years ago, and I am glad to report that nothing has changed. The dining experience is still highly unique, as you are expected to serve yourself by grabbing your own napkins and utensils and finding your own seat. Even the decor and seating arrangements have remained exactly the same. The tri tip and the salad are always the standard go to orders here, but we also tried the combination pizza, marinara pasta, and chicken breast. Overall, the food was just okay. Even the infamous tri tip was a letdown because it was served cold. The salad and pasta were also just average, though the chicken breast was surprisingly moist. What really threw off the experience was that the restaurant seemed to be entirely run by high schoolers. I have nothing against that, but we constantly had to ask the servers for our beers and other items we ordered. It was hard to flag them down because they were always running around, yet it did not look like they were actually accomplishing much. I completely respect these kids for working, but the service really could have used some better training. The one exception was the person who took our initial order, as she was patient and professional. Parking is notoriously difficult. The lot is shared with Trader Joe's and Shogun, so you should expect a battle for a spot during dinner hours. Overall, eating here felt like a trip back in time, but unfortunately, the food was not memorable this time around. I might give it another try, but given how competitive the Pasadena food scene is, it is hard to say I will return. All the meats are tender, juicy, and well-marinated. For veggie options, we like the pesto rigatoni, breadsticks, and Cobb salad. Everything's seasoned just right! Portion sizes are generous, and prices are pretty reasonable for what you get. The place has a lot of seating, works well for small groups or big ones. Visited on Father's Day. Restaurant was busy, but not full. Plenty of servers. Our food came out in shifts, most items were cold (pasta, corn, mashed potatoes). I had to ask 6 times for the corn we ordered and 5 times for my son's hamburger. I asked if the corn was cooked on a grill near meat due to my mom's food allergy, and I was given 3 different answers. Manager offered to bring us oven cooked corn for her instead, and neglected to tell me it would be served ice cold, so we bit into cold corn. The rack of BBQ ribs were very good & the garlic lemon salmon was a small piece of fish and cold. Not worth $25. The garlic & cheese mashed potatoes were cold. I do not recommend the appetizers. I haven't been to Stonefire in at least a year. And I have to say, it's just not the same. I ordered a chicken and tritip meal and while the chicken breast was the same, the tritip was overcooked, dry, and tough. I also ordered the cartwheel salad and the wedges of the iceberg lettuce was brown. Stonefire never used to serve old brown lettuce. We also ordered some meatballs in marinara as an appetizer which came out with the meal instead ahead of time. As a matter of fact, they were the last thing brought to the table. I used to eat at Stonefire in West Hills. It was great and a great value. I recently moved to this area and I got the salmon and the portion was ring and it was dry and over cooked. I usually ask for roasted garlic not lemon garlic. Well the server brought me raw garlic. I left it there. This was $40. Totally not worth it. read more

Walked in on a late Sunday morning and the place was packed! When we got up to the counter to order the person asked if we had a table already saved and we said no. He told me he was going to find a table for our party before he takes our order. He came back and told us some tables were being cleaned and was going to save them for us. We ordered the family pack special for $49 which is a steal for the amount of food you get. Once we sat down the first of the food we ordered came out and not long after all of it came out. The pizza is amazing as well as the pesto pasta with trio tip added to give it additional flavor.
