I had the Chicken Rice Bowl and absolutely loved it. The Mediterranean flavors were amazing and worked perfectly together. The bowl came with hummus, tzatziki, pickled onions, cucumbers, arugula, chicken, and rice -- every ingredient was fresh and delicious. The portion was very filling, and the combination of flavors was outstanding. I also recommend adding the sauce that comes with the bowl, but not too much, as the ingredients already have great flavor on their own. Tables unclean. It was not full but there were a lot of people eating there. It has the vibe of Shawarmaji when I went in Santa Clara but less popular because as I said lower foot traffic even though Caltech's graduation is tomorrow. It also tasted really mid. It had some of the middle eastern flavor but really muddled. It's fast casual like Chipotle but I think trying to be higher end in some way than Chipotle. The protein I got was the braised lamb for a bowl and that tasted fire. I think if you do come here you should figure out how to let the Mains (you choose) stand out read more

CAVA is sooo good. Their dressings and toppings are on another level. You can build your own bowl or pita by choosing your base and protein, and the unlimited toppings make it easy to customize exactly what you want. Pretty much any combination you make will turn out well. There's plenty of parking in the garage behind the building, and the location is convenient if you want to stop by other places along the block afterward. It's a great spot for a quick lunch. read more

Cava is always a hit if you like build your own Mediterranean bowls! My go to is the greens and grains bowls with chicken. The chicken is moist. I like the tzatziki sauce and red pepper hummus. I usually get almost all the toppings since it's unlimited. My favorite topping sauce is their garlic sauce. They usually have a long line but it moves steadily. Cava has become one of my boyfriend and my favorite eats when we are looking for an easy healthy meal. This location in Pasadena is off Lake near Planet Fitness and Macys. My boyfriend warned me that there might be a long line and I suggested we put in an online order to avoid waiting. It was fortunate because as we approached, parking was impossible. I asked him to drop me off and I ran in to get it while he made a loop and our food was ready to take home and avoid the crowds. My boyfriend and I both got the Greens + Grain Bowl. Depending on which protein you choose and other add-ons, price varies. My boyfriend's creation ($17.20) had the supergreen, saffron basmati rice, tzatziki, roasted eggplant dip, red pepper hummus, braised lamb, fire roasted corn, salted brine pickles, tomato+cucumber, kalamata olives, pita crisps with the yogurt dill and garlic dressing on the side, and yes to the side pita. My creation ($19.60) was a little more fancy with the supergreens, tzatziki, roasted eggplant dip, red pepper hummus, grilled steak, fiery broccoli, fire roasted corn, avocado, pickled onions, pita crisps with double garlic dressing on the side, and also yes to the side pita. When I came to pick up our order staff was friendly and quick. My order was ready before the requested time, which I appreciated. The interior looks like there was plenty of seating, and not too much of a wait. A bit pricey but it's healthy and consistent tasting. The portion seems to have shrunk compared to prior visits. Not my first time at Cava but my first time in LA and to this specific location. Plenty of places to sit and eat and the location is very convenient. Good for a post workout meal and there's a seating area outside for the whole plaza which is nice if you don't wanna eat inside. Sophia was the one who made my bowl and she was super sweet and very generous. I loved herr! Will be coming back tomorrow and hoping for her to make me and my friend's bowls! Great fast casual eatery. Choose your own bowls or Pita wraps which is similar to the Chipotle style, except with Mediterranean food. Lines can be rough during the peak times, thus can also order ahead online on their own website. Parking is convenient in the large structure behind, which is the same for Trader Joe. I really liked their Chicken Swarma bowl. Very flavorful and with lots of fresh toppings. Only reason not a 5/5 is due to the portion sizes to price ratio. Maybe not fair to compare to Chipotle, but I definitely didn't feel full after finishing this meal and it was more expensive (where I always feel stuffed after Chipotle). Cava me delicious! This was exactly what I was hoping for and more. When I asked what this place was all about I was described that if I liked chipotle, consider this a Mediterranean Chipotle. It was described just right to me. You can pick all of the ingredients you want starting with the rice and salad and then your protein and then whatever toppings and sauce. Incredibly addicting and what better than to always be able to customize a meal exactly to your preferences. Not sure why delivery is a significant amount more so definitely go in store. In store is significantly cheaper than any delivery service plus you get rewards if you sign up for their free program. Not sure why but almost every single time I go, the employees seem to kind of all hate their jobs. No one ever has a smile and if they really do talk to you at all, it comes with quite a bit of attitude. read more

Mediterranean Chipotle is the best way to describe CAVA. I know I'm not the first to say it, but this place really delivers. I have a love/hate relationship with CAVA. After a bad experience at the Westwood location, I swore it off, but recently, I've been craving it again and couldn't resist. I decided to try this location and ordered in person instead of using the app. I'm glad I chose this CAVA location; the staff are much better trained, friendlier, and more helpful than the Westwood location. They recently had a $3 off coupon, which I took advantage of, making my bowl even more affordable. I don't remember everything I put in, but I definitely loaded up on options. I vaguely recall a maximum of 3 sauces, and I went with the spicier flavors. I chose half steak and half spicy chicken. Everything was great, but the pita was a bit underwhelming for me. I'll definitely try the pita chips next time. It seems like they have a nice selection of craft sodas and fountain drinks. I'll have to try those next time. CAVA, I'm definitely coming back! Although this Lake Ave location gets popular on weekday lunches, the staff members move quickly and wait time isn't too long. I always get a greens+grains bowl with a free pita. But, this time around I found the brown rice consistently to taste like days-old rice, reheated over and over again. The texture was off and too chewy. The grilled chicken and toppings were perfectly fresh, but the stale base threw the bowl off. And I typically get sauces on the side - beware - the garlic dressing WILL make you thirsty. The only negative is the parallel parking in front of Cava's is metered. I recommend the free garage parking near Trader Joe's that's around the corner. I opted for the custom bowl with grilled chicken as my protein. You have the option to do 1/2 and 1/2 but keep in mind a lot of their other protein options have an extra charge. I added almost all the extra toppings and my bowl was stuffed. It comes with a free slice of pita bread and an optional dressing on the side. read more

My friend and I both built our own bowls and tried the spicy honey chicken (I think it's a limited item). It was great. The service was also very patient and kind. We went around 12 ish on a Sunday afternoon. There was a bit of a line but as we were eating, the line got pretty long. Service is pretty slow so if you're in a time crunch, I'd consider going to another place to eat. Overall, I really enjoyed my time at Cava. I would love to return in the future :) read more

I loveee cava! I've never had a bad experience and my bowl always slaps no matter how I change it up. The photo doesn't do it justice but everything is customizable so your bowl could look different! It gets busy during lunch hour but I don't mind the wait. The service is good usually and I always hear the staff working together to call out items they're running low on. My favorite fast chain food spot~ it is a little steep for the price point so unfortunately cannot be an everyday lunch thing, but I always feel full and healthy after, so that makes up for everything. My go to order is the half greens and grains bowl with super greens, white rice, steak, and the hummus/harissa/tzatziki sauce! I also double up on the garlic sauce on the side to use with the free side pita. Everything always taste fresh + none of the ingredients look old. Ordering online in particular this location its common for them to miss something because they get super busy throughout the day that they run out faster than they can serve so I always have to double check my order. Parking is meh here, there is a structure but if you're in a hurry its not that convenient with the curb always filled. I find the best time is to order early and pickup as early as possible before the lunch rush but I understand that it's kinda hard to do that as well. This was my 3rd time visiting Cava but the last two experiences were in Chino Hills. I was happy with my last 2 experiences at Cava and knew about the crowds/ hype and wanted to share with my boyfriend. BUT-- as for Pasadena's location, it was somewhat lacking in customer service on a busy Friday night. The wait took some time (imagine Chipotle lines), except the food is mainly served cold! Tables weren't really clean, either. The drink machine was broken and wouldn't stop dispensing its respective drink. Trash was overflowing, too. Overall, I love Cava's concept and would return back, but I think even in 2024 (when I visited), they're still having issues with a shortage of food workers. Tips- Park- Parking available in the back. Shop at Trader Joe's nearby after your meal for your newly inspired plans to make your own Mediterranean bowl in the future! I usually get a salad bowl with falafel, red pepper hummus, harissa and tzatziki, all the veggies, pita crisps and tahini. The falafel is always warm and crispy.
