I've been coming here for years since I was in high school. I've recently tried it again, and I was honestly impressed again. The price is great for the portion, they are generous with the sauces which is great. We got 2 of the combo kabob plate, one with lule and shish kabob, the other with shish and chicken kabob. They give you the option of choosing two sides, and give to you pita, as well. The lule was a bit dry, but the flavors were good! Then we also ordered the half chicken plate. My family and I shared all of this so it was a good variety of things. Make sure to get 1 garlic sauce and the harissa!

whaaat Mediterranean in fast food form? Not sure what I expected but it definitely exceeded, I got the chicken kebab plate and it was really good! Good bang for your buck, tasty and quick. I'd definitely go back! 5/5 food 5/5 service - quick and easy! 5/5 vibes - classic vibes

Good falafel but broken pita and not much tahini or tomato.

This is a little bit of a sad one for me. I'm nostalgic about Zankou Falafel wraps and thus Zankou. I was a vegetarian for many years, and these wraps were a staple of mine. They ARE still good, although (see photo) this one came broken into many pieces, so difficult to roll and eat. The falafel is delicious and tender, not dry, but they skimped on tahini sauce and the tomato, which took away some of the flavors, moisture, and texture I remembered. And then the broken up pita. And what was really sad was how the neighborhood has deteriorated. Not Zankou's fault, but it does affect the experience of parking and walking in when you pass people using drugs in the doorway next to the entrance. And the young woman who served me rung up the plate rather than wrap and when I was confused by the price and asked, she seemed annoyed, so I ended up apologizing because it just seemed like someone needed to...even though I had ordered the wrap. My apology for her mistake, didn't even prompt her to do the same. So even though their falafel is very good, all in all, it was an overall so-so experience that I wouldn't go out of my way for again. Added: Thank you Pedro, I very much appreciate the thoughtful message. I will make it a point to go by again sometime soon and assume it was just an off day.

Pretty sure this is an LA chain since there are so many, but I've only seen them in the LA area. This is such a great food deal though. The falafel, rice, hummus, and pita are all delicious and made perfectly. Will continue going for more plates and wraps!

I been here twice, and each time was a good experience. I tried the chicken kebab and chicken tarna plate, and both times the chicken was delicious. The hummus was delicious, same with their garden and cucumber salad, and their garlic sauce is like crack. The tahini sauce that comes with the tarna is pretty good as well. The pita bread seems like supermarket quality, but it gets the job done when dipping into the hummus or combining it with the meat and salad. Zankou is definitely a classic Mediterranean spot in Pasadena.

Love Zankou Chicken. Got the combo steak and chicken with rice and hummus and cucumber salad with the garlic dip and harissa sauce. This is a pretty substantial meal and very filling. Delivery was smooth and easy.

I've been to Zankou many times, but my most recent visit was standout thanks to Rachel at the front register. Even with the restaurant being absolutely slammed, Rachel's enthusiasm was infectious. It's rare to see someone maintain that level of positive energy with customers requesting help from all sides of the counter. She handled every guest with a genuine smile and a can do attitude. She went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed, It's clear she truly cares about the guest experience. If you're lucky enough to have her take your order, you're in great hands. Give this girl a raise!"

Order at the counter pick up your food and grab a table or take it home. Combo comes with meat. Rice , hummus. Salad, 2 large pita breads and garlic spread. Chicken is juicy and flavorful. Garlic is amazing.

Roasted chicken wrap. The pita was broken & the chicken, tomatoes & romaine salad fell out & made a mess in my car.

This place has been around forever. I haven't been here in a while. I got the roasted chicken wrap. It's a delicious, but, the pita was cracked, broken & messy to eat. It was not like this over 10 years ago. Pass on any of the wraps. The plates they have are much better to eat. If you have a big vehicle, forget about parking in the small parking lot. Either park where McDonalds is at(park at your own risk) or park on the street like me.

I have been going to Zankou Chicken regularly for at least 25 years, and have been a customer at various locations - mostly the one near downtown L.A., Burbank and Pasadena. The food is consistent and flavorful. For me everything is an excuse to eat more of that addictive toum/garlic sauce. One of the best every. I am a big fan of roasted chicken, so I usually either get that or the shawerma or kefta wrap. Between the pickled veggies, jalapenos, tahini and garlic sauce, it all satisfies. The sides are great. I love the baba ganouj and tabouleh the most. I've tried the baklava a few times and it is delicious. My only request is that they heat the pitas if you eat in instead of serving them right out of the bag. Recently I stopped there during the Eaton Fire. They were one of the few people open and it was so comforting to chat with the staff and just eat out of the house for a bit.

    No.

Hi Suzy, The meat is not halal at this location but you can enjoy halal meat in our Anaheim store.

Chicken skewer taste rubbery. Are they not from the whole chickens?

The chicken kabob is made from dark AND white meat. Some people find the white meat to be stronger (not as tender) so perhaps try and ask for "all dark" next time.

    Is parking available?

Yes on the side of the building there is designated parking for customers.

Is the food halal (zabihah) at this location? Any of it? Thx!

Not halal, according to their website. Only their Anaheim branch is halal certified. https://zankouchicken.com/faq/is-your-food-halal/

I tried the Chicken Caesar Wrap and the Margherita Pizza. My most candid thoughts: Margherita Pizza: This resembled more of a flat bread than a pizza. The sauce they used tasted like tomato pasta sauce from a jar and not necessarily pizza sauce. The dough tasted somewhat undercooked and thick, and the sauce and cheese did not stick well to the dough. Very bland in flavor. Huge portion though for the price. 5.5/10 Chicken Caesar Wrap: Very underwhelming as the chicken tasted dry and rough. I really liked the Spicy Caesar sauce though. It really spiced things up and added more flavors to the bland wrap. Portion was great and lettuce was fresh. I loved that they added avocados. However, it was definitely not the best Chicken Caesar wrap I've ever had and I would most definitely not be dying to order it again. 7/10 Parking is convenient as there is a free lot nearby. You order at the counter. I usually end up getting one of the breakfast meals - and all of them have managed to be both flavorful and fresh - in many ways the opposite of the typical American breakfast. The "bowl of foul", which apparently rhymes if you pronounce foul the Armenian way, is something they advertise a lot on their menu - and for good reason. It's actually one of the least foul breakfasts I've ever had in my life. It's a delicious flavorful bean dip with generous breads on the side to eat with it - as well as a platter of fresh vegetables. Still my favorite food to get here. Also decent was their fatteh, which is cream, yogurt, chickpeas, and a lot of assorted nuts, all dolloped over fried pita bread. Also very good, but I'm just honestly not a huge fan of nuts. It also comes with the vegetable platter which is the perfect combo with the creamy chickpea thing. The food usually takes 10-15 minutes to come out, but that's because they're clearly preparing everything fresh in the back (you can kind of see them do this.) They also have a fountain machine, which is a huge plus to ice addicts like me. Everything is casual, but also very clean and neat. Honestly, it's also a very nice cafe to relax in, do work, talk with friends, etc. etc. This is very much close to the "optimal" place to me when it comes to taking friends out somewhere to reconnect. Anyways, this place is highly recommended for both a wonderful dine-in and dine-out experience. I try to stop by it as often as possible for their breakfast to the point where I can count on my fingers the amount of times I've had breakfast at a place that WASN'T the Old Sassoon Bakery. Honestly, this place stands as a towering achievement of mastering everything that "new hip trendy" food often isn't. It's super affordable, generous portions, super clean, fast service (but you can stay around as long as you want), and the main draw is just the delicious, flavorful, authentic food that very much lives up to all of the hype and more.

The Lahmajoun is tasty with mix of Tomato paste, ground beef, garlic, and parsley on thin lavash-style flatbread that's folded over and crispy. The Aleppo Pepper, paprika, and cumin elevate the taste, and it's just delicious. The Kachapuri is pretty good, but I do feel it's missing something I've had before, this extra savoriness. It's still good, especially if you love goat cheese. If anything though, it's more salty than savory. Was craving a good sandwich in the Pasadena area and found this place on Yelp. Good reviews so decided to try it. Sorry but sorely disappointed. Got two things: Garlic chicken sandwich and Beef Lule wrap. Garlic chicken sandwich was pretty good. There was a decent amount of the garlic sauce which made it tasty. But after a while the garlic after taste becomes too much. If you try this place this is the sandwich to get. In Yelp photos there are a lot of this sandwich so it's popular. We shred this one so after only half the sandwich, I felt it was enough garlic taste. The other item we got was a Beef Lule wrap. It was pretty messy and the pita bread was incredibly soggy and fell apart. I just don't have wraps come out like that. The meat was ok but the whole thing was dry. It was made like a sandwich but in a wrap and it just didn't work for me. It seems like it needs Tzatziki sauce or something. I just thought it could have been a much better wrap. You need to keep it in the wrapper because it just falls apart. I don't recommend this thing. Stick with the popular items towards the top of the list on the menu.
