I cannot rave about Lee's enough! The food and service are just simply amazing! This time I went for the Famous Chicken Hoagie, and was super pleased that I went that route. The Hoagie is loaded with their delicious signature marinated Chicken, Provolone, Grilled Onions and Peppers, Lettuce, and dressed nicely with Oil and Vinegar. Simply awesome! I picked up a Southwest Salad with Salmon for my fiancé, and she Loved it! This salad is loaded and topped with a nice piece of Grilled Salmon. No option for negative stars, unfortunately. I always use a restaurant's restroom prior to ordering for the first time. I do this for at least two reasons. First, I was taught to wash my hands before eating. And second, I determine how well kept a kitchen is, based off of how well a place of business keeps up their restrooms. Let me just say, this place was so disgusting. The guy running the joint knew it, too and was so embarrassed he began accosting me as I waited outside the restroom, since it was occupied at that time. Needless to say, I left without ordering and went right across the parking lot to Rosarito. They didn't have a public restroom, but they let me use their only toilet. Got the chicken hoagie $12.99 since it was recommended by the menu itself. Tbh, I think it's simple with light flavor; you taste the chicken more this way, and it does use tender dark meat chicken, but can be plain. Portion is fair. The sauce and toppings bar, however, was decked out! There were a dozen kind of peppers and sauces. My fave topping was the pickled jicama and regret not packing some more... the tangy and crunchy flavor was addicting, it reminded me of a ripe korean pear. Note that Lee's Hoagie does close pretty early at 3 or 4pm depending on the day, and it is closed on Sunday. read more

Great place for sandwiches! We had lunch here while visiting Pasadena and thank goodness we did. The sandwiches and onion rings and tater tots were excellent and so was the service. Seating area was no nonsense fast food-ish, but that's what you would expect. They also had a serve yourself condiment area with hot sauces, peppers and pickles, etc. But the sandwiches were the star of the show. I've been here twice already but still haven't tried their hoagies. I drive past this spot every morning and finally decided to stop in for their breakfast burritos. The burritos are pretty good and on the simple side. They're a decent size, not overly big, but enough to fill you up. I usually get the combo where you pick three meats, and I go with sausage, ham, and chorizo. They include some hot sauce which is okay, but what really takes it to the next level is their pickle bar. They have a whole setup of different pickled items and you can help yourself. It's pretty awesome and definitely adds something extra to the burrito. I'll be back for sure, and next time I'll probably try the sandwiches too. read more

I came here early on a friday morning for take out. There was plenty of parking spots on front of the restaurant. However, the parking spots are a little small and narrow so be careful getting out of the car. I was greeted upon walking in and they took my order and gave me a suggestion for a hot sandwich. My husband didn't know they had that type of hoagie (Philly cheese steak). We also got a chicken hoagie, breakfast burrito, and a turkey melt sandwich. As I was waiting, the owner was chatting with another guest which made it feel very homey. Very casual and they have some tables outside for dining. First time ordering a breakfast burrito from Lee's. This morning I ordered the combo breakfast burrito with bacon, ham and sausage. You have a choice of potatos, hash browns or tater tots. I choose the tots and I order a small coffee. I ate inside the restaurant. My order only took about 10 minutes. My order was brought to my table with red and green hot sauces. Both hot sauces were good but I enjoyed the red the best. The burrito was delicious and tots were nice and crunchy. With the combination of ham, bacon and sausage this burrito was the bomb. The coffee that they brew is excellent. It did not need cream or sugar. I drank it black and it was great. My breakfast cost $14 even and I thought that was a great deal. I hadn't been to this place since 2005. Used to be a teacher at Hovsepian near St Gregory's church back in the day and my best friend's uncle owned the place at that time. Not sure if it's still his or not but some of the younger guys were running it. I'll say in 21 years since eating the sandwich, it still tasted amazing. I got the OG Chicken Hoagie. The chicken is juicy. Cooked perfectly. Not dry at all. And I don't know what's in the hoagie but it seems to have some type of pickling lettuce type taste. I could never figure it out even 21 years ago when I used to go into that place. But the flavor was spot on. The size the sandwich was large and feels worth the money you pay for it. They've got a bunch of other stuff on the menu like pastrami, philly cheesesteak and even breakfast options. It's worth a stop in to try a classic iconic hoagie from the Pasadena area that's been there for ages. Some of the old timers were in the shop eating that you can tell have been going there for decades. Wait. I guess I'm an ol timer now too! There's a reason that this popular restaurant receives so many five-star reviews. When you open the door you are greeted with a friendly hello by the GM and the grill master. I asked for suggestions from among their popular sandwiches and ordered the California chicken club and a side of garlic fries. Both were excellent. The aroma of the fries and the chicken club was evident as they packed them for take out. Both were made fresh while we waited. We were there at noon and the lunch rush was just starting. This review is solely based on the bacon double cheeseburger, the chicken hoagie, and the bacon & egg breakfast plate. I'm giving it five stars because of their consistency. I don't go there too often, but when I do everything tastes exactly as it did previously. Their flagship chicken hoagie is always tender, juicy, and packed with flavor--onions, lettuce, spices, and pickles make for a great sandwich. The bun is always soft on the inside with a slight crunch on the outside, so you get the best of both textures. The bacon double cheeseburger is char grilled, as is the chicken and most of their proteins, and it's always served with really flavorful grill marks. And they use shredded lettuce which I love! Admittedly I don't get the typical way it's made. I do keep the grilled onions and lettuce & pickles, but I don't get the burger sauce or tomato; that's a personal preference is all. The breakfast is very solid and the basic bases are covered well, and it's maybe one of the best deals in town. Bacon and eggs is $12.99 where most places in the Pasadena area will charge up to out over $20 for the same meal with the same amount of food. The service is you ordering at the counter and someone bringing the food to your table, or handing it to you in a to go bag. The owner and his man the ship. It operates like a well oiled machine tbh. The ambiance is no frills. There are a handful of tables (a few outdoors as well), a soda machine to serve yourself, and a fixins bar. It's very similar to a diner experience, yet somehow perfectly combined with a burger/hotdog stand vibe as well. That said, the place is a perfect eat alone, or meet with friends spot to get a satisfying meal at a decent price. They have a free parking lot that is fairly large (they're in a tiny little strip mall sorta area), they're only open until 4 PM, and I believe they're closed on Sundays. read more

I ordered a pastrami sandwich, mom ordered grilled turkey and cheese, my sisters- Greek chicken salad and Philly Cheesesteak. The pastrami was delicious in fact I couldn't finish it it's so filled with delicious pastrami. The Greek salad a perfect balance of chicken, feta and greens. I come here at least once every other week and it never disappoints. I usually get the chicken hoagie and zucchini fries. I recently got the chicken plate and enjoyed that also! I like that they have the pickled veggies bar and the vibe in here is very family-like; you can tell a lot of the customers have been coming here for years. I was getting my car aligned down the street and walked into Lee's Hoagie House for some breakfast with my daughter. The place was clean and bustling with happy patrons. We were greeted with a friendly hello before even getting to the front desk. We ordered breakfast burritos with crispy bacon and sausage combined. They were delicious and the perfect size! The atmosphere was obviously full of regulars as everyone was joking around and the owner was even sitting with the "mayor" of the regulars. All in all was absolutely pleased I walked in here! This review is long, long overdue! I am astounded that I haven't shared my experience of this place sooner. We discovered this place after taking my kids to gymnastics across the plaza and since then have frequent this place every weekend. My children have explored numerous breakfast joints in Pasadena, yet they consistently adore the exquisite way they make their bacon (dark, tasty and crunchy) and pancakes (fluffy and hot) here. Every dish is made with a genuine touch of care and freshness. No joke. Available seats is never an issue, and the prices are wonderfully reasonable. Closed on Sundays. Service is also super amazing.
