Overall a fine experience. I wasn't overly impressed but food met expectations. The salmon was quite tender and salad was highly flavorful. However I was less impressed with the classic hummus. Not too much flavor but healthy. The pita was also not flavored or well baked either. But the service was nice. Little bit of indoor seating too but mostly a place for grab and go.
Finally back again at Hummus Labs in Pasadena. Picked up two chicken kabob dinners, one dark meat and one white meat. The salad instead of rice, beet hummus, habanero hummus - i like it spicy, cauliflower, grilled veggies. Many times I find the white meat chicken kabob dry, this was not. The flavors of everything was delicious. It was enough for me to take to work for lunch and that's always a plus! Great staff.
I give this place a solid 3.5 stars. For ME, Mediterranean restaurants are often a hit or miss. I find that some have dishes that are well seasoned and full of flavor, and others have the flavor and no, I'll just say appeal. I'm not going to explain that, but those that get it, get it. Hummus Labs was in between. Now, don't get me wrong, it was tasty, but I feel like the favors can be enhanced just a little bit more. The portions are huge, a great value for your dollar. The lady the took my order very nice, and a pleasure to speak with. The restaurant is a typical storefront, with minimal seating, but enough space for an in and out crowd. Do not be dismayed. Hummus Labs is worth a visit.
The hype is very much real and true. As a matter of fact, I did not know what to expect for their Beef Shawarma Nachos. But the beef was thickly cut, juicy and tender. It fit perfectly with the crunchy pita chips underneath. I also ordered the Chicken Shawarma Plate to share and it was super filling. Hummus Labs is a casual lunch spot that does an excellent job in cooking their meats and seasoning it perfectly. There's plenty of parking in the back lot as well as street parking. I'll definitely be back!
Come support this Pasadena gem. You can get a chicken lunch plate forIt's comes up side. But when I went, I got the beef Shawarma plate with hummus and cauliflower. The cauliflower is crispy on the top and cooked just right. Joseph Jean, the owner is so sweet and nice and his staff are nice as well. Come support this as they would need the community support as due to the fire and many people have to community so if you're in Pasadena area or in the SGV area, be sure to stop by and support.
I've always come to Hummus Lab for their lunch special, and it has always been good. This time, I went with my friend and we tried the Ultimate Combo. We sat inside the restaurant, which is relatively small and has only a few tables. We both enjoyed the filet mignon kabob and the salad. The red beet dill hummus was mostly enjoyed by me with the pita bread. The chicken mini shawarma nachos weren't really our thing and were pretty much untouched. Although we enjoyed the combo, I would say the lunch special with the chicken kabob is a much better value. I probably wouldn't order this combo again.
I will be coming back for this meal so much. I have been meaning to come and try this place for a while and it didn't disappoint. The hummus is absolutely incredible and the chicken, rice, and pita are all great. Lovely deal with large portions!
Today was actually my first time dining at hummus labs even though I've gotten catering from them a couple of times for some of my parties! (The catering is amazing btw - highly recommend! They give so much of the salad, pita and hummus! We always have leftovers for the rest of the week) I got the chicken schwarma and the chicken is perfectly tender! I also chose the cumin lime hummus and garlic paste, the cumin lime hummus didn't taste that much different from the regular hummus in my opinion, but it was delicious! The garlic paste is my absolute favorite, I love how much they give and hate how how much goes to waste when I'm done eating. It's almost criminal to throw it away and I wanna savor it all.. Highly recommend and can't wait to have you guys cater again in the future!
Awesome kabob place in Pasadena! Came here on a weekday for dinner (takeout) and ordered the beef shawarma platter with half rice and half salad. For sides, I got cumin lime hummus and classic hummus. The name definitely lived up to its standards - the hummus was amazing! Thick and creamy! The portion is big as well and the beef was marinated to perfection! Staff was super friendly! Highly recommend! There are also a few seats inside for dine in!
WOW! When I say this was delicious, I mean it. I never had this place before but for teacher/staff appreciation week our PTA got us this and wow so yummy!! PTA ordered: Chicken Kabob Filet Mignon Kabob Fattoush Salad Rice Hummus Cilantro Jalapeño Hummus Tzatziki Pita Chips Pita Bread Cauliflower This meal was incredibly delicious and I plan to come eat here and order takeout because of how delicious the food was. My favorite was the rice and cauliflower, i'm not the biggest fan of cauliflower, but this place made them taste incredible! Highly recommend especially if catering!!

So when I drove past Hummus Labs and saw they had a lunch special, I decided to check it out. I tried the chicken kabob plate, which comes with your choice of white or dark meat, I went with dark. The chicken was served in big, juicy chunks and was super moist. The rice it came with was flavorful and fluffy. The plate also included a small salad, some classic hummus, and pita bread. The place itself is pretty small, so I'd recommend calling in your order if you're trying to grab lunch during the rush. Overall, the meal was tasty, felt healthy, and was just the kind of simple lunch I needed. They also tons of other items that I want to try like shawarma nachos ?! I'm definitely going to start adding this to my lunch rotation.
We came in right before closing on a Wednesday and had their mixed grill platter with Kafta, Chicken and Filet Mignon, everything was so good and people there were really nice even though we put our order in right before their closing time. Their classic hummus and garlic paste were both really good, will have to go back to try other hummus flavors!! Garlic paste had a little kick, my husband and I both don't do well with spicy food but it was a perfect amount of spice and didn't linger in our mouths, we actually enjoyed it and our 4 year old picky eater loved everything she tasted as well.!

So when I tried the nachos at Hummus Labs, I knew I had tasted something golden. So backing up, Donna S. and I met up for a weekday dinner at Hummus Labs. They close at 7 pm on weeknights, so we got here around 5 pm to have enough time to order and enjoy our meal on-site. Decent amount of seating inside and you can move tables around if you have large groups. There was so much good options on the menu that we decided to split one of the shared platters -- the Ultimate Combo ($34.95), which comes with a chicken kabob skewer, filet mignon kabob skewer, mini shawarma nachos, salad, and choice of hummus. The menu says this feeds 2 people and it certainly did! We picked the roasted tomato habanero hummus. We had initially ordered a side of falafel too, but that order didn't get put in. It worked out in the end because we still had food leftover from our ultimate combo. Everything was super delicious. If you're unsure of what to try and you have a small group, the ultimate combo is the way to go. While both kabobs were delicious, the shawarma nachos were something else! It's the crisp pita chips that make the nachos so good, though the chicken and hummus and seasonings wrap it all nicely together. Donna S. and I both placed a separate order of the full sized chicken shawarma nachos ($15.95) to enjoy at home later. The lady taking our order was very helpful with my questions on what to order and the differences between certain options and dishes. It was her suggestion to try the combo platter when I was struggling to decide amongst the nachos, the individual kabob platter, the individual shawarma platter, or the wraps. Also appreciate her helpful tips when picking the hummus for our platter. I didn't realize there's a free parking lot that you'd enter off Mentor Ave, so I ended up parking on the streets. I usually don't see free parking for many Pasadena businesses so this is a nice bonus! All in all, a successful yummy dinner done at Hummus Labs.

i still think about hummus lab's shawarma nachos and i can't wait to go back to get it again. ordered the ultimate combo with beet hummus and everything was so delicious. the nachos were so crispy and flavorful and all the sauces were to die for the platter was enough for me and my bf and we even had leftovers after eating till we were very full we also ordered a side of falafel which was also very delicious. the yogurt sauce that it came with was nice and tangy parking is available at the back lot read more
As a huge fan of Mediterranean fare and hummus, this place definitely does not disappoint! The Ultimate platter is not only beautifully presented but also packed with flavor--and it's generous to share between two people. The platter comes with a chicken kebab skewer, beef kebab skewer, mini shawarma nacho, side salad, and hummus choice. I normally go with the cilantro jalapeño hummus, which had the right amount of heat and delicious. I've also tried their garlic paste and also very good. One of my favorite touches is their house-made pita chips, which is the base for their shawarma nachos. They are perfectly crisp and pair well with their toppings. Their meat is seasoned perfectly, tender and juicy. I usually call ahead for takeout, and my order is consistently ready around 15 minutes. There are a few tables if you decide to dine in. Parking is available on street or back lot, which makes pickup convenient. If you're craving fresh, flavorful Mediterranean food with house made touches, Hummus Labs is definitely worth a visit! read more

This place is super yummy! Had some great wins and a few not great but ok. Lamb chops good Rice Salad not so ok Chicken kabobs would of been better if it was white meat instead of dark and I love dark meat Beet hummus was ok Original hummus yum! Habanero had a kick and was delicious Cumin and lime hummus was eh The salad was a little too tangy for me but the pita croutons were a hit! went and tried their all day lunch specials - there's a choice of chicken kebab or cauliflower and it comes with rice, hummus, salad and pita for $12, we got one of each- the cauliflower was more flavorful, the order was ready within 15-20 min and service was really great. will be back to try their other items! read more
My husband and I stopped by on Saturday, Nov 30, 2024 before 12:30 PM. We have tried hummus labs before, but this was my first time at the physical store! We ordered: Special - Chicken Kabob Platter $11.95 - This is a good deal. The chicken was perfectly cooked, moist, and not dry at all. It was quite flavorful. I enjoyed their hummus - leans slightly on the salty. The salad was decent - I would choose another side next time. Shwarma Beef Nachos $17.95 - Delicious but also salty. They are a little pricier but give you plenty of meat on top of pita chips. This dish was a little too salty for my liking, but it was still yummy. Seating: Indoor seating is available! Customer Service: It was good! The lady who helped us was warm, friendly, and courteous! Overall, a great experience, and we would come back! read more

I'm so glad my friend found this hidden gem! We were there a little before 6PM and there wasn't anyone around, it does give the vibe that more people come for takeout than dine in. Good portion sizes and everything tasted delicious! I got the Mediterranean salmon with a side of cauliflower and cumin lime hummus. I don't know what they put on that cauliflower, but it was one of the best I've ever had! I also had a pleasant surprise in my plate and was given the fattoush salad! The lady that took my order saw my interest in trying but ultimately I declined and said I'd try it next time, but she still included it in my order without an extra charge! That was so kind of her and I wish I knew her name to give her a shoutout here. I personally thanked her when I noticed. I will definitely be stopping by again because I need to try those nachos! read more
Was hanging out at home and looking for some good Mediterranean food. Enter Hummus labs...deliver available thru various vendors and really good Yelp! Reviews so yeah...lets see what the hype is all about.... Ordered delivery and found a variety of options from chicken shawarma to salmon to classic falafel plates...lots of good hummus options...even something new ( habanero hummus anyone?) Went ahead and ordered a variety of plates and off we went. Food came in and really good value for the money wuth hefty plates. Food was amazing! I ve had great Mediterranean options in the past and this ranked up there with really tasty varieties of options. Salmon was perfect and spiced right and not overcooked...really a good value for the money and lived well up to the hype! I ll be back for sure...well worth a go if you want good Mediterranean food... read more

I've been seeing a lot of reviews of this place on the local Facebook group, we finally got to try it on Thanksgiving day. The food was delicious and it definitely hit our Mediterranean food craving for the day. We ordered the combo plate to try a little of everything and also an order falafels. They also have a pretty large sides selection For the plates. We will be back again to try the different items on the menu. read more

Ordered chicken shawarma but i asked for salad instead of rice. Tgey put the chicken in a separate container. Got the beet hummus and grilled cauliflower for my sides. It came with two pitas. total with tax came to $20 it was enough for two meals and everything taste terrific! read more

This place got to have the most flavorful shawarmas. I ordered a chicken shawarma plate and it was full of flavor and they even have very unique hummus in my opinion like beets hummus which was very delicious. They have bits of pita chips in it which adds a nice little crunch. It comes with a pita bread as well so I made it as a pita wrap. I would definitely be back! read more
Hummus Labs is a hidden gem for quality Mediterranean food in Pasadena! My gf and I finally made time to try this and we are definitely coming back. The inside of the restaurant is alright, which made me a bit skeptical at first. We ordered the beef shawarma nachos and the chicken shawarma platter. Wow. They are generous with portions and both plates were packed with flavor! The pita nachos were crunchy and absorbed the sauce from the toppings. The hummus and salad were fresh and paired well with the protein. The food was so good and priced well. We took the food to go, but the lady who took our order was kind and helpful to recommend the roasted tomato habanero hummus, which is their most popular hummus. I've seen this place on yelp a few times before but haven't been there until recently. There's also free parking right next to the restaurant on Mentor Ave. Its a small but cozy space and the workers there make you feel right at home with how attentive and accommodating they are. I tried the Beef Kafta Kabob, Chicken Shawarma Nachos, and Beef Shawarma Nachos from the 3 times I was here. The beef kafta was decent but it doesn't come anywhere near the level of deliciousness that the beef and chicken shawarma nachos are on. The meats are tender, the pita nachos are crispy, and the nacho dishes as a whole are well balanced. I'd be happy eating just the pita nachos because they're seasoned well. Another big plus is how generous their portions are, you can make two meals out of the nachos if you wanted to. The nachos alone make me want to come back already, highly recommend if you're looking for good food with great customer service! Chicken if you must, skip the beef. =============== 4 stars for the cauliflower more than the chicken lol $20 for a side of beef + deep fried cauliflower is pretty pricey (unpictured) The beef doesn't look that appetizing lol it looks like ... if you order you will understand. Cauliflower is deep fried, but wow whatever spices they use for it is crazy good. $17ish for a plate of buttery saffron rice, delightfully charred chicken, dill beet hummus + feta cheese dip They don't give you a huge amount of protein, but they do have very high quality food. Other places give you pickled veggies/charred veggies, but here it comes at a cost. Pita chips aren't as flakey as other places, they're pretty decent tho. They were nice enough to serve us 40 min til closing time! I'd def come back in the area! But I'd get my own plate instead of share lol read more

Came here for a quick dinner before a show. ordered the ultimate platter for two and there are so much food! Great portion for the price. the lamb chops are done perfectly: tender and smoky, no additional sauce/flavoring is needed. But I like my lamb to be more gamey but I am the minority, and this is just a personal preference. the place is casual and clean. Super friendly staff. They have Baklava portioned in little containers too! read more

Is everything on the menu halal?
Unfortunately we don’t have halal consistently on the menu. At the moment our filet mignon skewer and beef shawarma are halal.
Is there dine in here yet?
Last time I visited (about a month ago), a saw diners eating inside the restaurant. I'm sure if you call, they will let you know. They are very nice.

Any gluten free dishes?
All of our proteins are gluten free. Our rice can be substituted for lettuce or upgrades to a salad for a nominal fee. All of our dips are gluten free as well.
How much time should I order before going for pick-up? Any suggestions on time frame? Thank u.
I feel in general 30 - 45 min in advance has been enough time to order for regular plates.
