Great people, good food. Our waiter with the curly black hair was very kind. I appreciate ur help

Gosh where do I start? The restaurant is in a charming craftsman house. It was a nice night so we sat outside. I forgot our server's name but he was helpful with suggestions and super nice. We definitely over ordered but every single dish was so tasty. Loved the dip sampler and the kebab plate. It was my first time having meghli, a rice pudding dessert, and it was the perfect way to end dinner They also have sandwiches and bfast which I have to try another time!

Mediterranean food is something I can and want to have anytime. I've been trying many spots and this spot is definitely in the top 5. All the meats were very tender and juicy.

The food was amazing. I ordered the kebab combo plate, hummus dip sampler, and tabbouleh salad. My favorite hummus dip is the spicy lebni!!! I am def coming back here

Had dinner here on a Friday night. We ordered sodas, the baba ganoush, the kebab combo and the montee. The montee arrived first. Never had this dish before. The beef is really nicely seasoned and nice combination with the dough. Liked the garlic sauce as well. After a while the kebab combo arrived. Of the three meats I liked the chicken best. The baba ganoush was excellent, one of the best ones I had. Portion size is also generous, unfortunately we couldn't finish all of it. Staff were friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend it if you're in the mood for some great Mediterranean food.

Great food and service. Seems to be a family place. I think it was the owner who waited on us. Younger guy with his son as a helper! If you want to support a local business and get solid food, this is a wonderful choice. The iced tea is on point and house made chili paste is a must. The Khachapuri (cheese and egg bread) is great. The child got it and loved it. The chicken plate is a solid choice. Comes with pita. My only suggestion is they should have Lavash as an option instead of Pita. We stumbled into this place while in Pasadena for an event at the college down the street. Lucky find

A nice Mediterranean restaurant run by a very friendly and welcoming owner. The menu is extensive and has lots of authentic Mediterranean options. The kebabs are very tasty and nice portions. The sandwiches are also well made. Plenty of outdoor seating and good service.

I think they put crack in that rice... I've never had rice so tasty and rich. Then add the meat juices and you're in heaven.

I've been coming to Zephyr's for a little over a year now, and it's truly something special. My girlfriend and I stumbled upon it after a hike, and ever since, we've been making the hour-long drive regularly--yes, it's that good. Zephyr's serves the best Mediterranean food we've ever had. Every dish tastes homemade because it is--Sylva, the owner, told us she imports ingredients directly from Syria and uses family recipes passed down through generations. This is a family-run restaurant in the truest sense. They cook, serve, and treat you like family. If you're looking for an authentic, heartfelt dining experience, this is it. Please support them--they genuinely deserve all the success in the world.

The Armenian salad is made to order. Fresh and delicious! The service staff is friendly. I will be returning often.

Food: The classic chicken kabob plate was amazing. Chicken itself was flavorful and moist, perfectly coupling with the rice. Adding the pickled onions was the perfect sour and crunch. The grilled peppers were spiiiiccyyyy so beware, it adds an additional layer of flavor. The hummus was so smooth and creamy, pairing well with the pita. Garlic fries were freshly seasoned with a lemon garlicky zest, topped with parsley. Amazing. Service: Over the top. Everyone was so kind and their attention to detail is what brings people back. They were patient to explain their menu for first timers and had great recommendations. Ambiance: We sat outdoors and it was nice and cozy. Lots of families, couples, groups. The perfect place for a variety of occasions, or if not just for takeout at home. Definitely coming back and making it a monthly after-church staple ;)

Yes absolutely! We have a private heated area which you and your guests can enjoy dinner! -Sahag

Their kebobs are cooked over actual coals, and you can absolutely taste the difference. The chicken is always incredibly tender and flavorful, the beef is tender and perfectly cooked, and I have a friend who could probably live on their tzatziki. Everything is fresh and thoughtfully prepared every day. But as wonderful as the food is, the people are what make Sahara so special. Ana owns the restaurant with her husband and runs the kitchen, and she and the entire staff are simply amazing. This is a true family-owned restaurant where you can feel the care that goes into both the food and the way they treat people. After we lost our home in the Eaton Fire, in Altadena, we were living in a hotel and would come to Sahara for dinner. Every time we came in, they insisted on sending us home with extra food so we would have something to eat later. At a time when our lives had been completely turned upside down, that kindness and generosity meant more to us than I can possibly express. Extraordinary food made by genuinely wonderful people. We love Sahara, and I feel very lucky to be able to support a local family-owned business that puts so much heart into what they do. If you haven't been, go. And get the kebobs. And definitely the tzatziki. And, the tahini...but leave some for my husband because he loves it on the lamb skewers.

I appreciated the variety of flavors across the different appetizers and plates. Had the choice of coffee, hot mint tea, or hot black tea to close out the meal which helped with digestion. We ordered two of the carousel plates with four different meats: beef, veal, filet, and chicken. The beef and chicken kebabs were super flavorful. It paired deliciously with their rice, roasted veggies, and cabbage salad. I also love their crispy thin pita chips. I was not a fan of the veal liver as it was too gamey for me. Overall the food was really good and the portion sizes were great. Drinks: 3/5 The drinks here were not that good. They were a dollar or two higher than your regular bar. However, the taste was mediocre. Their hibiscus Paloma was very bland and a little watered down. Service: 5/5 We came here on a Friday night at 7pm, we had a reservation and got seated pretty quickly despite it being quite busy. Our server checked up on our table often and our food came out pretty fast. They also gave out some bread, cheese, veggies, and olives while we waited for our food. Ambiance: 5/5 This place is lively and feels a little upscale. They have an outdoor seating area as well. Overall, I would come back here for the food, but maybe not the drinks.

Fast forward to last weekend, we had to be in Pasadena for an errand and finally decided it was time to try it for dinner. I'm so glad we did because this place was SO good! The menu is a little more diverse than a traditional Greek menu, which honestly made it even harder to choose because there were so many amazing options. We ended up ordering the grilled octopus, mussels, chicken kebab, and sea bass, and every single dish was absolutely delicious. The flavors and textures were just wonderful, and I would genuinely recommend every one of these dishes. The mussels were actually a last-minute decision and ended up being one of my favorite dishes of the night, if not my favorite. The broth was seriously incredible, and the bread that comes with it was the perfect pairing. I usually don't love dense bread, but because this bread sits in the broth and soaks it all up without completely falling apart, every bite was perfection. It could sit in that broth for 30 minutes and still hold together, and honestly, I could have eaten that entire bowl just for the broth and bread! The ambiance is also wonderful. We sat outside on the rooftop on a beautiful summer evening, which made the whole experience even better. Service was excellent too. We didn't have a reservation, it was a Saturday night, and they were able to get us seated within about 30 minutes. I genuinely cannot wait to come back. The only problem is that I want to try everything else on the menu, but I also want to order all the same things again because they were that good! Come to find out the food is now actually blah blah blah! The cold super thin pita bread was cold & flavorless and oddly comes with a cold cube of butter, what the heck am I supposed to do with that? It won't melt on a cold piece of pita bread. Then the iceberg salad comes out with two small dressing containers to use; this salad had a lot of "bones" [what the hard white parts of lettuce are called]. At least the cucumbers were crunchy, as well as the 2 pieces of tomatoes. I ordered the Koobideh Combo [Beef & Chicken]; and my friend ordered the Chicken Kabob [white meat]. The lacking of flavor in the Koobideh beef & chicken was unbelievable, I asked for a grilled serrano or jalapeno chili and the waitress said they had ran out. I was 2:00 p.m., what do you mean you ran out? We were looking for something to "save" this blandness of both our dishes; thank gawd they have containers of sumac & salt at the table.
