    Cabbage salad!! Amazing flavors

Zephyr in Pasadena is an absolute gem. This family-run business truly captures everything you hope for in authentic Mediterranean food incredible flavor, generous portions, and the kind of warm hospitality that reminds me of being back in mediterranean. From the moment you walk in, you're welcomed by the kindest people who genuinely care about their customers and take so much pride in what they do. The food is outstanding every dish is bursting with fresh, rich, authentic Mediterranean flavors that taste homemade and crafted with love. On top of that, the portions are huge, making it an amazing value. Exceptional service, delicious food, and such a lovely family atmosphere. Zephyr is one of those rare places that feels special from start to finish. Highly recommend! I recommend there kebab dishes, and the cabbage salad was so good I took one home! I will be back and make sure to take pictures of the food before I eat it

Mediterranean food is something I can and want to have anytime. I've been trying many spots and this spot is definitely in the top 5. All the meats were very tender and juicy.

Had dinner here on a Friday night. We ordered sodas, the baba ganoush, the kebab combo and the montee. The montee arrived first. Never had this dish before. The beef is really nicely seasoned and nice combination with the dough. Liked the garlic sauce as well. After a while the kebab combo arrived. Of the three meats I liked the chicken best. The baba ganoush was excellent, one of the best ones I had. Portion size is also generous, unfortunately we couldn't finish all of it. Staff were friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend it if you're in the mood for some great Mediterranean food.

Great food and service. Seems to be a family place. I think it was the owner who waited on us. Younger guy with his son as a helper! If you want to support a local business and get solid food, this is a wonderful choice. The iced tea is on point and house made chili paste is a must. The Khachapuri (cheese and egg bread) is great. The child got it and loved it. The chicken plate is a solid choice. Comes with pita. My only suggestion is they should have Lavash as an option instead of Pita. We stumbled into this place while in Pasadena for an event at the college down the street. Lucky find

A nice Mediterranean restaurant run by a very friendly and welcoming owner. The menu is extensive and has lots of authentic Mediterranean options. The kebabs are very tasty and nice portions. The sandwiches are also well made. Plenty of outdoor seating and good service.

I think they put crack in that rice... I've never had rice so tasty and rich. Then add the meat juices and you're in heaven.

I've been coming to Zephyr's for a little over a year now, and it's truly something special. My girlfriend and I stumbled upon it after a hike, and ever since, we've been making the hour-long drive regularly--yes, it's that good. Zephyr's serves the best Mediterranean food we've ever had. Every dish tastes homemade because it is--Sylva, the owner, told us she imports ingredients directly from Syria and uses family recipes passed down through generations. This is a family-run restaurant in the truest sense. They cook, serve, and treat you like family. If you're looking for an authentic, heartfelt dining experience, this is it. Please support them--they genuinely deserve all the success in the world.

Nutella pizza? Why not? So good the service is amazing the guy at front is so nice and friendly and welcoming! Other that the Nutella we got the lule beef it was juicy and flavorful! I never eat lule other than the one my family makes! Finally I found a spot! The patio is very nice and chill I was able to eat smoke hookah and catch some work on my laptop!

This place is a REAL WINNER!…read more My son brought me here today for lunch. Wasn't sure that I was in the mood for Mediterranean but I agreed to go. So glad I decided to have lunch there! The food is absolutely delicious, the portions are generous, the prices are very reasonable and the guy who took our order was so kind and helpful. I couldn't believe how flavorful everything was! I got the chicken Shawarma and now I won't go anywhere else for Mediterranean. I live in Glendale so I've got a lot of Mediterranean restaurants around me; I've been to a handful of them. But none of them comes close to how delicious this place was. Thank you! You are now my go to Mediterranean restaurant.

They're family owned and operated and had a bunch of yummy sounding options. I got their falafel, dolmas, cheese and meat boreg, chicken shawarma wrap, filet mignon and chicken thigh combo plate, and baklava to try. This was my first time ever trying falafels, dolmas, and boregs and wow. The falafel had a Fun crunchy outside with a crumbly yet not dry inside and full of aromatic flavors. The dolmas were really good too. Moist and herby. The boregs kinda reminded me of empanadas in both flavors and textures from the crisp fried outer pastry to savory fillings. The chicken shawarma wrap was stuffed with tender marinated chicken, fries, a bit of tomato and pepper and schmearing of creamy garlicy spread, and came with a side of refreshing cucumber yogurt salad. The best part was when that pita soaked up all the other juices of the chicken to make it even more flavorful. The meats in the combo plate had a nice char, were super savory, flavorful, well seasoned but were a bit overcooked and dry. But that's ok cuz that's where the super flavorful dips came in. There was the refreshing cucumber salad, smooth creamy nutty hummus, and pungent garlicy sauce that paired perfectly with everything. It also came with rice, an herby bright tabouleh salad, pickled turnips and crunchy fresh onions. The baklava was MASSIVE and was a bit dry and hard but had plenty of crisp pastry layers, crunchy nuts, was amazingly sweet and cinnamony. Overall this place is pretty good. Boreg $14 Falafel $8 Dolma $7 Chicken shawarma wrap $17 Combo beef filet and chicken thigh $28 Baklava $4

The soltani kabob was to die for; the flavors in the beef barg and koobideh were so rich and cooked to perfection. The mastery of these dishes was absolutely on display. The mast moosir was a great creamy and savory side dish to complement the entrees. I HAD to get the tahdig (crispy rice) too! I also had a bit of the lamb shank which was really flavorful, tender, and paired perfectly with the baghali polo. The yogurt soda was a bit of an acquired taste for me, but I'm happy to have tried it for the full experience. We finished off our delicious meal with a floral and sweet Persian ice cream wafer sandwich. The portions were enormous, so we left feeling full with leftovers to look forward to! We came on a lively weekday evening. They don't do reservations, but we were warmly greeted and quickly seated with lavash and butter on our table immediately. The restaurant has a beautiful and romantic atmosphere, with hybrid indoor/outdoor courtyard dining. Our waiter was attentive and made us feel very welcomed. I'd give this restaurant more than 5 stars if I could!

We heard good things about Sahara and decided to check it out yesterday; and it exceeded expectations. I had the beef kebab plate, while my mom and brother had the chicken kebab plate. We loved how they had complimentary snacks (olives, cheese, and cucumber) and also that the plate came with either soup or salad. The meat dishes were so flavorful and honestly the best we've had at any restaurant. They gave a lot of meat too; 8 pieces each dish. The baba ghanoush was also great. My first impression was how friendly everyone is, both employees and customers. I also noticed the aroma of mesquite smoke, which is a principle difference between their food and many others that use gas grills. The wonderful lady at the counter welcomed me and suggested the split kabob plate with half each beef and chicken. She also gave me the lunch and dinner menus to peruse. I grabbed a table and didn't wait long before my order was ready. Lots of rice pilaf, hummus, and tabouli. Additionally, there was a portion of garlic sauce. The portion of meat was equally impressive. I was still afflicted with recent dental work so I had to eat slowly and carefully. Their food is very crushable if not for that. They also quarter the pita bread which allows easier dipping or making mini wraps. Anyhow, I'm sure I'll be back sooner than later to try the Lula (aka koubideh), lamb, and other unique house specials. The essence of wood smoke is especially good, so that's a high mark. 4.5 overall My only criticisms are the rice could have been warmer, and the sauce more garlicky.

It is easy to find located across the street from Pasadena City college. The large awning outside the building announces the entrance to the restaurant. There were quite a number of unusual items and I had no idea what type of food or flavor to expect. When the waitress returned, I was able to ask her questions about what I should order. She had great suggestions that would give me a best example of their unique food and flavors. I decided on one Chicken Kabob and one Chicken Koobideh. Each of them came with a choice of soup or salad. I chose one of each. Barley soup with the chicken and Greek salad for the beef. It took about 20 minutes or so to get my meal to go. They had a number of occupied tables. When I got home I carefully unpacked what I had ordered. I was eager to try everything at once, but decided to start with the soup. Barley soup was filled with barley and had great flavor. I decided to add a little bit of kick by dropping in some hot sauce. The side salad was impressive. Fresh greens, tomatoes, broccoli, carrots, and cucumbers. A little squeeze of lemon with all it needed. No extra dressing needed. Both the chicken and beef skewers had a great grilled aroma and were delicious. They held their shape even without actual skewers. They both tasted just as good cold the next day as they did warm when I first got them home. There was an abundance of rice included since this was a dinner order. It also had great flavor. It was fresh and had great seasoning. A bunch of condiments were included in a separate bag for all the items. At least it's not burn. Nothing is wrong with the rice, but i preferred the basmati rice massis used. However, I'm not sure why the rice is mixed with many piece of noodles. I hate when it puts the container sauce on top of the rice and not outside. I believe it's chili and garlic sauce. How would I know if the container is contaminated or not. Not sure why it is on top of the rice and not outside the to go container. The picture look better than what I actually got.
