06/14/26 Sunday Friend bought a box for everyone to share. We got to try three flavors: -Oreo was my favorite. Probably the least sweet of the three we tried. -Reese's was good but a little overpowering on the peanut butter side. -The coconut is way too sweet. Reminded me of an almond joy without the almond. Cake is a little dry. Frosting helps balance it out but most of them are too sweet. Like how they're small in size so you can sample multiple if you desire without feeling too heavy. I usually love Dots. But today soured my view. I went in and picked up two red velvet cupcakes and one cinnamon roll with nuts on top. Had a nice encounter with the gentleman serving me. Couple hours later I look at my charges and I see that I have been chargedl $ 24.74. NP I will get this corrected. I had taken a bite of my cinnamon roll. Yum ate half of my red velvet cupcake. So I call when I get home to get it corrected the female who answered the phone could barely be bothered. Exchanged information correction the charge was $17 and something cents. She said is there anything else I can help you with? I was a little taken aback that there was no apology, I realize she was not the one who had helped me. But I did explain to her. This was the company she worked for, and it would have been nice to hear some sort of an apology. She told me she wasn't the one who served me. ???? OK I see the problem They don't work as a cohesive it's everyone for themselves . Disappointed.. I did take the time to rectify their mistake. I had no problem with that, but I have a problem with the last person I had to deal with. I don't feel the need to return to dots EVER!! My cupcakes were great . I will end with that. read more

This has been on my list of places to go for quite a while, but honestly I keep forgetting about it. Went for a birthday lunch with two friends, and we were all excited to try it. I ordered the Italian chopped salad and dalgona coffee, one ordered the chiliquilies with Carne Asada, and the other ordered the chicken fried steak. Both of those were on the brunch menu. The portions were huge, the food was delicious and the service was great. The inside interior is decorated so cute. Very relaxing, just really cute. They're huge dodger fans, which is fine with me. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because we were very disappointed with the cupcakes. We ordered one each after our meal, a red velvet, Carmelita, and a lemon curd. They were so dry and honestly had no flavor. I was shocked and really disappointed because I've heard amazing things about the cupcakes. The lemon curd had absolutely no lemon flavor at all in the cupcake. It was a very dry white cupcake. The Carmelita was just basically a chocolate cupcake with tiny caramel candies on top and the chocolate cupcake itself was very dry. I didn't try the red velvet, but my friend said the same. It was just very dry and planned in flavor. We will definitely be going back because the food was amazing. Probably will not order cupcakes though. read more

A complete delight to visit Dots Cafe when I'm in town. For starters is the interior is decorated so sweetly and thoughtfully. It's like a big hug. Stopped in for a quick coffee before getting my nails done and was so happy with my experience. There was a line since it was Sunday morning but it moved efficiently. The worker was nice and friendly. I ordered a cold brew with almond milk, and it came out quickly and was really delicious. Inside has a good amount of seating and their menu was much larger than I expected, so I'll definitely be back to try some breakfast and pastries. read more

I had to have the ultimate breakfast burrito, but there are so many different things to try here mainly the cupcakes and the coffee, but the breakfast burrito was perfect. Fun and pretty cafe & bakery with neat wallpaper, ample seating, and a nice lounge area in the corner. There's a huge display of their famous cupcakes and a lovely brunch menu. We came for Saturday brunch and about half the tables were being used. There were two staff working the counter and another in the back of house I ordered the Matcha Strawberry Latte over ice - delicious, though I really had to work the straw to get the strawberry jam at the bottom to mix with the oat milk and matcha tea. I find it strange that there was a $0.50 upcharge for ice (where are we, Europe?)...sure, $1.00 to upgrade to the Large size and $0.50 to substitute animal milk for oat milk - totally reasonably, but for ice? Review would have been 5 stars, but dropped one for the ice surcharge. The Classic Breakfast Burrito was tasty - 50% scrambled egg, 25% tater tots, 20% bacon, and 5% cheese. The salsa was pretty bland, so I spiced it up with Tapatio and the picked jalapeno. I'd order it again. The Mixed Berry Toast was excellent - honey, berries, coconut flakes, and whipped cream cheese on a scrumptious toast. Refreshing and sweet (but not too sweet). And the tots were tots...exactly what I expected, crunchy and yummy. Looking forward to coming again and trying other items on the menu. read more

My go-to cupcake spot from now on! We initially came here because it's the local spot for a pup cake since it was my dog's birthday. I decided to try a cupcake for myself too! It was $4.50 for my cupcake and $2.50 for my dog's. I got their chocolate vanilla cupcake and it was the most moist cupcake I've had in a while. It's a chocolate cake with vanilla frosting on top. The aesthetics of the place are cute. There are great looking cupcakes. The food may be good but what I ordered unfortunately was not. I saw salads at other tables so maybe that's what is best to order. I would not recommend the chimichurri steak sandwich. The roll it comes in was not good, not even toasted. The chimichurri salsa was very watery and more of a salsa verde. Maybe try the chilaquiles- the menu picture makes them look good. Stay away from the sandwiches tho. read more

We tried Dots for the first time on 04/04/2026 at about 12noon, with our party of two. Although we have lived very close to Dots for over 9 years, we never actually tried it. It was, overall, a good experience. You order at the register, find a seat and then they will bring the food to you. I had both an order of the Tater Tots and the Berry Toast, which had honey, coconut, blueberries and strawberries. It was delicious. The toast was an average value and the Tater Tots were an excellent value. The cafe is decorated appropriately, and was decorated with Dodger Blue the day that we visited. It is a cozy place. Limited parking lot parking during busy times; however, there is also a lot of nearby street parking. read more

I am so sad to say I had completely forgotten about this place!! Here I am a decade later and stumbled upon it again last week and thought to myself "wow have I been missing out!". Not too far from the freeway and the most delectable and adorable cupcakes and food! I ordered a breakfast sandwich deal that came with a delicious latte . What a steal I think it was $11. The most tasty brioche bread with egg, cheese, and bacon. Amazing. Picked up some delicious baby cupcakes for the fam and everyone raved about them. Particularly the blueberry cheesecake and salted caramel. Yummm. I was intrigued and inspired by the meal prep options they offer including the family meal deals that come with fresh baked desserts! I also, admittedly, only tried their cupcakes and not their menu so maybe I'll come back to eat there another time. But as for their cupcakes only: I agree with other reviewers in that they're cute, they're good, and that they're also nothing special. I was most impressed with the frosting (as someone who usually wipes it off) because it's thick, rich, and not overwhelmingly sweet. But the cupcake itself is okay: I tried chocolate, red velvet, and carrot cake. Red velvet was a miss, chocolate was alright, and carrot cake was the best. It's cute and the mini cupcakes make for a nice treat above like a grocery store cupcake, but otherwise, not really a place I plan on returning to. read more

Absolutely yummy lunch at Dots cafe. They offer a menu with sandwiches, salads, and they even sell their popular cupcakes! This is a great location on Colorado/Rosemead and right off the 10 freeway! We all ordered their sandwiches and salad and it was all made very good. The food is very fresh, my fries were made perfectly crispy, and I love how my swiss cheese just pulls out. My only downside is the edges of the bread was a bit too tough for me. The lunch was a good portion. My colleagues loved their food as well and their salad was very good. Matcha latte was more milky but I finished the whole cup. The location is very clean and if you choose to dine in, then you would order first, and then staff would bring the food to you. The 5 stars is first for the very friendly service. But mostly it's for their blacken chicken sandwich. I only bought it on a whim and boy and I glad that I did. It had to be the best hot sandwich that I've ever tasted. As for the cupcakes, I guess I'll grudgingly give a 4 because i felt they are much better than 3 but not even close to a 5. They are very very dense and I like a more light cake. The icing's are amazing and they're what makes the cupcake. read more

The owner was there and was very nice. They also make coffee drinks. If I came to the reviews first, seeing that is an overall 3.9 stars I don't know if I would have tried this spot and I have to say the stars don't match because I love this place. Funny thing is, this is my 3rd time ordering the cupcakes because of a customer letting me try one. She said they're known for their cupcakes for not being overly sweet, which is something that I really appreciate. I can't rate on the cafe itself because I haven't physically been there. I've had them picked up for me. But I can rate on the quality of the cupcakes and they're delicious. My goal is to try every flavor but I keep going back to my chocolate varieties. The carrot cake it really a good one. I'm not too much of a fan of the red velvet but any of the chocolate or carrot, yes and yes. Awful vibes from employees here. My mom didnt even entire the store and wasn't even a customer but an employee at this cafe decided to harass my mother walking on the street. My mom wanted to pick a lemon tree on the side of the road, and an employee decided to make it her business and confront my mom just for picking a lemon tree that belongs to the city. Employee yelled at my mom and harassed her for no reason. My mom wasn't obstructing their business or anyone's day. But the employee still went out of her way to leave her cafe and walk up to my mom to harass her about a lemon.
