Came here for the Toohoodtogo deal. It was definitely NOT worth the $5 spent to get the meal "worth" $15, and the gas to get there. All we got were the cheapest sides consisting of a container of white pilaf rice that wasn't great and 2 containers of beans. LAME! For $5 I could've gotten tacos at a taco truck that was better than the crap given to me. Totally disappointed in the establishment. Def not coming back here even for a regular meal. Unreal! A worker named Kathy told us that all orders placed today would be covered by the Fish Grill company as part of a fundraiser for a local school, and that customers would be charged $0. However, after placing our orders, we and several other customers who ordered earlier realized that we had been charged the full amount. Fantastic spot for grilled fish! I went with the Swai fish/Salmon fish combo plate and I chose half cajun/half garlic butter sauces on top of my fish. The fish came on the bed of rice and I added coconut shrimp and cesar salad as my sides. The fish was incredibly delicious, tender and juicy and the cajun and garlic sauces on top added great flavors to the fish. The coconut shrimp had great flavor to it and was crispy on the outside and perfectly tender on the inside. The cesar salad was okay. Overall, a great combo plate and definitely worth a try! The spot itself has multiple tables and a patio for dining in. You order through an electronic device at the register, but I did have a nice lady come up to me and advise me on some bestselling items. I went in today and wasn't sure what to order, and Kathy had helped me at the kiosk and showed me the menu. She was very helpful and even helped me decide what to order(I got the salmon) . She also asked me if I liked shrimp (I do ) so she recommended I try the shrimp skewers and they were delicious. I had an unpleasant experience at the fish grill today. I was not greeted when I walked in the restaurant, I went to the register and waited for about 3 minutes Julian a server saw me waiting to order and he made me wait. He finished passing out all his to go orders, new people came through the door and he greeted them and asked if they need help with a to go order. I then spoke up and said I've been waiting to order and he said hold on for me to wait. Once the new customers said they were there to order he then took my order. He was extremely smug sarcastic and cynical as he took my order. A real smart aleck. Told me what a good name he had and he jumped up and down. I'm not sure if he needs attention or there's something seriously wrong. This restaurant has several locations, and each place has very friendly people working there and professional and they even come by the table to check on us to see that we were satisfied with the quality of their food and we were, me and my colleague both had the Sea Bass and it was very delicious. I had mine with sweet potato fries and seasoned sliced tomatoes with feta cheese and that was really tasty. The place is kept clean. There are several choices to make and I went with the recommendation of my friend and I am glad he suggested to eat here. Came to this place with some coworker to have some fast food food that are seafood related, and I got to say that they have definitely a wide variety of food and also have different type of soda machine than a regular fasting chain. The only car I can think of at this place is that their self service desk is a bit long and they do not really have a cashier on site. However they do have staff on the side that are helping with the self service option. They are not that many seats in the place so I would recommend coming here early. If you do plan on coming during new hour as a lot of people who work around the area come here for lunch. I used to come to California Fish Grill at least twice a week if not more when I lived and worked closer to the shop in the past. It feels so home cooked, clean and healthy for a fast casual place. It just does not disappoint. After a long time I got some take out from there and it is just as good, if not better than I remember. My previous order was usually salmon on rice with zucchini and rosemary. This time I mixed it up and got the grilled branzino over rice with tomato and feta on the side. The fish is fileted and cooked so well. The outer edges and bottom are slightly crispy but the middle is juicy. I am not a huge rice person but at this place I always get rice. It is fluffy, light and really soaks up all the seasonings. It was a hot day so I opted for the cool temperature tomatoes and feta. The tomatoes were great quality and there was a lot of feta, all tossed in a light dressing. There was a large amount of herbs, which tasted like a mix of parsley and cilantro. There are great side sauces and salsas. I got garlic butter, flavored olive oil, lemon slices and tomatillo salsa. The salsa is perfect and adds a touch of heat if you like that - as good as anything I had at Mexican restaurants. They were packing the order as I walked up to the counter. We've have come to dinner on a Friday night during the height of dinner service. The staff is always welcoming and ready to help get your order in. Tonight we visited also on a friday nighy but also during lent. For those that are not religious most catholic avoid meat and consume fish on fridays. Tonight the satf had a line also most our the door. Took maybe 10 min to get to the kiosk (not bad if you ask me) I could see the staff hauling to get orders out quickly and efficiently. I ordered the fish and chips with sweet potatoes and Brussels sprouts (grilled) and was completely satisfied. The fish pieces are huge and have a nice crunch. The grilled Brussels sprouts have a nice taste to them; I tried them for the first time after it was recommended to me by a staff member (Thank You!!).
