Yes! Yes! Yes! Absolutely delicious! Baja Cali is giving authentic Mexican taco vibes and I'm seriously here for it. I ordered both the beef and fish tacos and they were made spot on. The only thing that threw me was the prepackaged sauce...taking away from the authentic vibe. There were three sauces and all spicy with just the right kick. I ate my tacos for lunch but over ordered and had left overs. Around dinner I just ate the tacos without warming them and they still tasted just as good. My first time here, I ordered the Combo #2 with Baja fish tacos The staff were very friendly and helpful and walked me through the menu and what they recommend since it was my first time. The fish tacos were very good, I wish they were a bit more crunchy but overall a good size and great flavor. The fries paired with the tacos very well and came out hot and crispy. I would highly recommend to order this. The condiments they give, habanero salsa, green salsa, and pickled onions were all very very good and they are generous on the amount they give which I love because most places are very stingy. Came in an hour before closing for the crispy taco special. The food isn't the problem here, the manager is. Rude from the moment we walked in. No greeting, no professionalism, just attitude. The register "wasn't working," but instead of explaining that tap was down, the manager just stood there and watched us struggle to pay. When asked about the bathroom, we got a cold, irritated "not working" with zero apology. Then staff started mopping with bleach an hour before closing, filling the place with chemical fumes. Not exactly appetizing. If this manager hates customers so much, they shouldn't be running a restaurant. Terrible leadership, hostile service, and a great way to lose repeat business. The restaurant has a small parking lot and there's street parking. Fairly spacious indoor seating. I tried the al pastor fish tacos ($9.99 for 3 tacos and a drink) and 2 regular grilled fish tacos. I usually like grilled fish tacos but the al pastor flavor was really good. And for the price made it even better. It's clean. They have a restroom outside towards the back. I have a video snipped of this interaction. As we were finishing about to leave, another customer came in and was waiting for over 5 min. The entire restaurant can see and hear her on the phone. Something about another employee not coming in and it was just her and that she had done everything. When the customer tried to get her attention she motioned hold on with her hand. I completely understand it sucks when a co worker calls out. But that was a bit much. No wonder this place is always dead. No one would want to come back after this experience.

I was here for lunch and walked into a small but impressive space, elegantly decorated, with both a dining and bar area. My seating was in the latter, not on bar stools, but at a table for two, because I was dinning solo. For appetizers, I chose the scallop aguachile. There were two small portions, each in a plastic shell, sitting on a bed of ice. While I am not fond of aguachiles because of the general overdose of citrus in them, this one really surprised me. While there were only small pieces of scallop, it had an abundance of small cubed cucumber pieces that provided the nicest contrast of crunch, juice and texture. The citrus was mild and well balanced. A wonderful start. I selected the fried fish burger for my entree. The fish was mildly battered, yet lightly crisp, to highlight the big pieces of fresh, flaky and moist fish that were literally, falling off the burger. It was a good stack, with minimum lettuce, tomato and sauce, so as to not take it away from the star, the succulent, perfectly prepared, flavorful fish. The bun was also well crafted, nice and fluffy on the inside, not dry, with a buttery brown on the outside. Easily one of the best fish burgers I have had. For dessert (the third course), I had to have the profiteroles with ice cream. One was with vanilla, the other with strawberry. Both came topped with dark chocolate sauce, that had hardened by the time of eating. A superbly assembled concoction, that provided the crackle and exhilarating mouth feel. I cannot remember the last time where at a Dine LA restaurant, all three lunch courses were so well presented and satisfying. One was better than the other. Overall, it was worth the drive, for an extraordinary dining experience.

Do you want Baja Cali to cater an event? Don't waste your time - look for a different vendor. My fiancee and I wanted to cater fish tacos for our wedding and reached out to Baja Cali for information. We first reached out in AUGUST 2022. Someone by the name of Luci started the process for us and directed us to Marielena - the "event coordinator." I reached out to Marielena multiple times over the course of two months and was ghosted. Radio silence. I gave up on them but in JANUARY 2023 my fiancee decided to give it another try. This time, Marielena reached out and restarted the process for us again. She said that she would print out a quote for us so that we can look over it and put down a deposit to secure their service. From this point on, we never heard back again. Radio silence again. It is now almost MARCH 2023 and we've tried calling many different people multiple times for the past 4 weeks only to be ghosted constantly. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. I was considering giving them a 1 star review because of the Manager, Gus. I don't like to judge the entire establishment on 1 bad experience. I called and ordered a burrito for carry out, I arrived 30 to 40 minutes later. He had told me it'll take about 20 minutes which is fine I guess they were really basy. I arrived and walk up to pay for the food when I was informed by Gus that they haven't even started my burrito and that I will have to wait at least 20 minutes. I was in a rush and got upset, and asked why it's going to take that long! He said well there are others in front of you. i live about half a block from this spot and never bothered trying it. well recently, I had a hankering for some Asada fries, and boy oh boy was I in for a treat! not only is their food great quality and tasting, but their prices are beyond reasonable (which is important these days because we all are going broke at the tank) and their portions are beyond generous. Wow - fish tacos that aren't fishy! You can tell that their ingredients are fresh and prepared in house. The grilled fish tacos had the right balance of tortilla, fish, toppings, and sauce. It's not about the money it's the principle. The charge was never disclosed. When I brought it up with the owner, Lupita, she was dismissive and couldn't explain the reasoning it's not even homemade tortillas. You can literally buy 90 tortillas for $4 at a grocery store! She took off one of the charges but kept the other $2. Meanwhile, they offer unlimited chips and complimentary salsa without blinking. The inconsistency is baffling. We genuinely wanted to support this family-run restaurant we loved seeing the family come in together. But the disrespect during that conversation made it impossible to leave on good terms. Do yourself a favor and drive about a 1.5 miles down the street to El Metate. Their large shrimp cocktail is $15, is so flavorful, and the staff treats you like family. Their pozole is outstanding too. We found them on our first failed attempt to come here and we'll be going back to them exclusively from now on. We will never return to Lupita's and made it clear to not go there in our community thread with 15K people. Unless you like hidden fees and mediocre tasteless overpriced food then this is your place otherwise...don't come here.
