Yes! Yes! Yes! Absolutely delicious! Baja Cali is giving authentic Mexican taco vibes and I'm seriously here for it. I ordered both the beef and fish tacos and they were made spot on. The only thing that threw me was the prepackaged sauce...taking away from the authentic vibe. There were three sauces and all spicy with just the right kick. I ate my tacos for lunch but over ordered and had left overs. Around dinner I just ate the tacos without warming them and they still tasted just as good. My first time here, I ordered the Combo #2 with Baja fish tacos The staff were very friendly and helpful and walked me through the menu and what they recommend since it was my first time. The fish tacos were very good, I wish they were a bit more crunchy but overall a good size and great flavor. The fries paired with the tacos very well and came out hot and crispy. I would highly recommend to order this. The condiments they give, habanero salsa, green salsa, and pickled onions were all very very good and they are generous on the amount they give which I love because most places are very stingy. Came in an hour before closing for the crispy taco special. The food isn't the problem here, the manager is. Rude from the moment we walked in. No greeting, no professionalism, just attitude. The register "wasn't working," but instead of explaining that tap was down, the manager just stood there and watched us struggle to pay. When asked about the bathroom, we got a cold, irritated "not working" with zero apology. Then staff started mopping with bleach an hour before closing, filling the place with chemical fumes. Not exactly appetizing. If this manager hates customers so much, they shouldn't be running a restaurant. Terrible leadership, hostile service, and a great way to lose repeat business. The restaurant has a small parking lot and there's street parking. Fairly spacious indoor seating. I tried the al pastor fish tacos ($9.99 for 3 tacos and a drink) and 2 regular grilled fish tacos. I usually like grilled fish tacos but the al pastor flavor was really good. And for the price made it even better. It's clean. They have a restroom outside towards the back. Baja Taco place on Washington Blvd in Pasadena, CA is the worst. I ordered two fish tacos with a side of beans (no rice), according to their online you have a choice of two different styles of beans. More concerning, they didn't appear to be cooked properly, a little bit on the raw side --or perhaps they simply weren't fresh. The appearance alone was enough to make me lose my appetite. Overall, the food was overpriced for what was served, and several dishes were excessively salty. The Charred Octopus, for example, the salad on this dish was overwhelmingly salty and lacked the balance I expected. Service also seemed to suffer. It appeared the restaurant might have been understaffed, as there was only one server greeting guests, seating customers, and taking orders. While the server worked hard, the lack of staffing was noticeable and affected the overall dining experience. My friends also ordered the fish, but the skin was far from crispy, which was disappointing for a dish at this price point. To make matters worse, we were looking forward to ending the meal with dessert, but the dessert called: Tropical Fruit Panna Cotta, Tea Cookie, and Passion Fruit Sorbet was unavailable. With most entrées averaging around $50, we expected a much higher level of quality and execution. The Seabass with Sauerkraut was priced at around $50, but in my opinion, it simply didn't offer the value to justify the cost. The only thing I truly appreciated was that the restaurant offered a complimentary birthday dessert, which was a thoughtful gesture. Unfortunately, they had run out of birthday candles, so even that special touch was missing. Sadly, this meal did not meet our expectations in terms of food quality, value, or overall experience. Do you want Baja Cali to cater an event? Don't waste your time - look for a different vendor. My fiancee and I wanted to cater fish tacos for our wedding and reached out to Baja Cali for information. We first reached out in AUGUST 2022. Someone by the name of Luci started the process for us and directed us to Marielena - the "event coordinator." I reached out to Marielena multiple times over the course of two months and was ghosted. Radio silence. I gave up on them but in JANUARY 2023 my fiancee decided to give it another try. This time, Marielena reached out and restarted the process for us again. She said that she would print out a quote for us so that we can look over it and put down a deposit to secure their service. From this point on, we never heard back again. Radio silence again. It is now almost MARCH 2023 and we've tried calling many different people multiple times for the past 4 weeks only to be ghosted constantly. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. I was considering giving them a 1 star review because of the Manager, Gus. I don't like to judge the entire establishment on 1 bad experience. I called and ordered a burrito for carry out, I arrived 30 to 40 minutes later. He had told me it'll take about 20 minutes which is fine I guess they were really basy. I arrived and walk up to pay for the food when I was informed by Gus that they haven't even started my burrito and that I will have to wait at least 20 minutes. I was in a rush and got upset, and asked why it's going to take that long! He said well there are others in front of you. I'm like dude I called 40 minutes ago and he said well, if you don't want to wait then leave. Long story short this guy is a grade A you know what. Oh and I made sure to let him know. i live about half a block from this spot and never bothered trying it. well recently, I had a hankering for some Asada fries, and boy oh boy was I in for a treat! not only is their food great quality and tasting, but their prices are beyond reasonable (which is important these days because we all are going broke at the tank) and their portions are beyond generous. I consider myself a big eater, and I couldn't dare to finish the order of Asada fries. their protein tacos are delicious as well, and of course, their flagship, the fish tacos, are next level. don't waste precious time on other spots, give these folks a try and you won't regret it! read more

I've been coming to this place since they first opened. I love the staff there. They're so friendly especially my friend Daniel. He's been working there quite a few years and he is the best. Wow - fish tacos that aren't fishy! You can tell that their ingredients are fresh and prepared in house. The grilled fish tacos had the right balance of tortilla, fish, toppings, and sauce. The condiment bar (for lack of a better term) had great spicy peppers, radishes, onions, and generous servings of lime. This was during their soft opening and they already had their act together. We genuinely wanted to support this family-run restaurant we loved seeing the family come in together. But the disrespect during that conversation made it impossible to leave on good terms. Do yourself a favor and drive about a 1.5 miles down the street to El Metate. Their large shrimp cocktail is $15, is so flavorful, and the staff treats you like family. The customer service was excellent and respectful. I ordered a 1 lb of shrimp head, lobster tail l, added sausages and garlic bread. Everything I ordered was very delicious. I will definitely come back again! I highly recommend this spot.
