The servers were really sweet. We came on a Saturday afternoon and we ordered a guera and a desvelado. The food was nice and hot but the flavor was really off. For the price of each taco you'd except at the very least quality meat but it was very grainy and the seasoning was more on the sour sweet side which isn't what you expect when eating tacos. We were hungry after a long drive and of course it was edible so we ate we just won't be going back. The vibe of the restaurant was more of a modern Chicano vibe I'd say. They have nice posters and interesting decor using wine bottles. Servers were great. Food came out quick. The restaurant was clean but outside of the restaurant smelled like pee which was pretty gross and we held our breath. There is a good amount of homeless population in this area which is why we think it smelled like urine a lot. Overall 3 stars because of great servers and fast service but the food was lacking and the outside smell of the building was a huge turn off.
We have been coming here whenever I'm in town. It's to die for -the tacos and margaritas are so delicious. Plus Gisele was attentive and kind. I highly recommend coming here when you're in town.

Came for dinner with a group of 12 of us and they were great with service and speed was great! Make sure to order the horchata and tacos are great! We had Ashley as a server and she was on top of everything and kept our drinks full! We will be back when we have everyone in town again! Highly recommend if you want some good authentic Mexican food and good drink choices!

I tried this place recently when was passing through Pasadena. As a vegetarian, it's not always easy to find good Mexican restaurants on the trip. Therefore when I found it through social media, I wanted to try this place. I should say the food was above expectations. Tried their vegetarian guac, beans version of flautas desveladas (no meat) and it turned out to be really good. Portion size is decent as well. We also try vegetarian quesadilla and that was good combination of crunchy+ soft filling. We couldn't finish the large quantity of quesadillas and were able to get those as to-go. Will definitely try their other vegetarian items.. For most they are able to substitute meat with beans, so that gives good variety.
Been following Tacos Los Desvelados on Instagram for a bit, so I wanted to check it out since I was craving Mexican food and wasn't in the mood to drive out to my usual street taco go-tos. The food was...fine? I was expecting great tacos, but it was only good. Asada and al pastor did not light it up for me, pretty pedestrian. The cabeza was the only thing that was great. I decided to get the Tijuana-style tacos, which were $5.99 each. Given the food being alright and how much the food was, I can't help but say I was a bit let down. Service was fine, no complaints from me. Their social media guy does a great job, because they sure make the food look good. I get prices being higher, which I can accept because it's a brick and mortar. But the meat just doesn't compare to other taco places I've been to.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Tacos Los Desvelados - Pasadena location. i was in a city for a business meeting and when my coleague informed ame about this, i was like " hey i have already been to their Maywood location so I know this chain'. when I searched it has many outlets in LA and I was already been to their Maywood location so i knew i would get a good food here. Needless to say - cool ambiance, its "Mehico folks" We ordered Micheladas (a Mexican drink with beer and other spices- tangy taste- great) Gringa- Tortillas with Shrimp , sauce, peppers and cheese - Superb! these guys know what they are cooking! Charola Botenera: shrimp with fries and 3 diff type of sauces Ambiance: The restaurant's décor giving the vibe of Mexican charm, vibrant colors and traditional motifs. The seating was comfortable, and the attentive staff added to the overall positive dining experience. Price: Value for Money- Considering the quality of food, portion sizes, and the overall dining experience, restaurant offers great value for money. Service: I talked to their manager (i guess name was Chris, sorry i forgot) - he was jolly and we talked on Mexican dishes. Service was good and ashley took good care of us. Definitely recommended !!
Food was great! Full of flavor, not overly seasoned for my liking. Service was pretty good. No complaints. Ambience was pretty cool too. Love the music and decor. They do have wine but I don't drink enough to say if the selection is good or not. I know they serve beer but I didn't come to drink so can't say what's on tap. If you like tacos, put this in your hit list. Plenty to try.

I've been here multiple times, starting from a couple years ago up until today. My favorite go-to item is the guacamole perron with cabeza. It's a good amount of food and it's usually enough to feed 2 people. The chips that come with it are freshly made and steaming hot and crispy. In the past I've also ordered their birria tacos and the burrito. They were fine but nothing special. It looks like they recently redid the menu and rebranded to be a bit more upscale, but as far as I can tell the menu is largely the same and food quality is as great as ever. Service is fine. It's too loud with the music indoors so I usually sit outside, but it can get cold outside in the winter. My rating is just for the food. read more

My partner and I were looking for mexican food that had dog-friendly patios and we came across this restaurant, and we're so glad we did! When we arrived, the indoor space was lively with music, but thankfully the outdoor patio was more quiet and spacious. There was another couple sitting near us with their medium-sized dog of their own, and when the waitress seated us, she commented lovingly on our dog and made us feel reassured this was the place to bring our dog for training outdoors! FOOD: -mar y tierra roll (such a fun presentation, in the form of sushi rolls!) -vampiro -desvelado -Taco De costra DRINKS: -horchata (this was HUGE and so delicious!! this was probably the best horchata i've ever had!) Ugh everything was so so delicious, so cheesy and the proteins served were cooked to perfection. Definitely will come here again for dog-friendly outdoor restaurant food! read more

I was in town and I had family that wanted to come here. The atmosphere was great and our server was very sweet and helpful. We decided on the shrimp tacos platter and i was surprised at how generous the portion was. Super delicious! We heard great things about the taquitos so we decided to get some to go. Crispy and delicious. The sauces that came with it all paired really well with it. I would definitely come back here again next time I'm in town! read more

The hubbs and I popped in for lunch the day after Valentine's Day. We ordered at the register and dined in. The decor was very cute, balloons at each table just to add a little bit more LOVE, in addition to the awesome posters of celebrities but also cultural icons. I'm with it. That's awesome!! Their menu is huge! Yes, that's what SHE said! How many different types of ways that you should ask for your meal to be prepared?? You could ask for a quesadilla, mulitias, burritos, fries, flautas, nachos, etc. My goodness, you have all sorts of options and some you've probably never even seen, heard of or considered. The portions are quite large. The surf and turf fries were perfect for sharing. We ordered that and a side of 3 corn tortillas. It was definitely enough for the both of us. I put some f the asada and pico from our fries into a tortilla and ate it that way, adding the mild green salsa. Yum!! I cannot wait to come back and try so many more things. Ashley is awesome!!! She's not only knowledgeable about the menu but she shared with us some of the plans that the store's owner/manager might have about expanding. Cool!! That'll be exciting. She came to check on us a few times and even shared a little jamaica with us. When she wasn't busy in the kitchen or taking orders behind the counter, she was busy checking on the dine in customers of sanitizing surfaces. Wow! Awesome job!! The hubbs had an horchata. I must admit I had sticker shock. $6 for an horchata?!?! Their agua frescas are a bit pricey but when you see it delivered to your table in this huge stein, $6 was more than worth it!!! I'll be coming back again, hopefully much sooner than later. Coming during the week for lunch is best as we were told it gets pretty packed on the weekends and evenings. read more

Ambiance: The moment you walk in, the ambiance hooks you in with a bar-like feature and reggaeton/bachata moving music! Food & Drinks: The food is amazing! Very good portion and the flavors are authentic! I got the "La Gringas" and the burst of flavors just danced around my mouth along with the music! The mango margarita was a bit sweet for my taste but if you like sweet, I would recommend it! Parking: There is a parking lot here so you do not have to look for parking, which is a bonus! Overall I would recommend this place! read more

Came in for a late lunch and very happy we did. The food and decor reminds me of Tijuana, the place is colorful with a mix of traditional and modern cultural icons - on the walls you get everything from el Chavo del Ocho to Infante, and luchadores mixed in with Fernando and Kobe. The menu is extensive, but most a combination of the same basic ingredients prepared different ways. Kudos to whoever designed the menu because each item is named creatively and it's fun to just look at the menu - you'll definitely get a few chuckles. We ordered the Tortuga torta w asada, taco Coronel and Ensenada fish tacos. The fish tacos were so good and the tortilla so fresh we had to order more of them. The torta is a good size, with the avocado spread standing out. The bread was fresh and lightly grilled, perfect. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and patient with our questions of the menu. Definitely stop by, next time will have to try the micheladas, agave wine drinks or slush. Yes, they have chamoy and tarugo for the drinks. My only complaint is the music was too loud, felt more like a club. read more

I've always wanted to try this place. They have several other locations. We got two michiladas ( delicious), chilaquiles, patron taco, French fries and a chile taco. You order at the bar and they bring it to your table. Convenient parking in the back. Pretty darn good! I'll be back! read more

On Instagram, all the food at Tacos Los Desvelados looks amazing. Vibrant colors, interesting combinations of ingredients, and thick tortillas. Shortly after its Pasadena grand opening, I ordered a few things from there for take out. I learned that is not the optimal way of eating Desvelados food. It's menu is really different than the usual Mexican restaurant menu. There are all the things you recognize - tacos, tostadas, burritos, but the toppings have a lot of variety and they mix meats quite a bit. For example, I ordered the Tacos Desvelados, that came with both carne asada and shrimp and a spicy sauce. My husband ordered his go-to, carnitas nachos. I also ordered the Sinaloa tacos, which were a crispy tortilla with a ground meat (chorizo maybe), lettuce, avocado, salsa and crema. Sadly, the two tacos suffered from being dry. The corn tortillas were not very pliable and nothing melded together. The nachos got a big ding from my husband for having a cheez whiz style cheese sauce instead of melted shredded cheese. I totally admit that tacos are best eaten fresh so I'd be willing to try again. read more
