Chimichanga

Food. 10/10. Tacos. Chips. Queso. Chimichanga. Solid. Drinks-margarita. Zero alcohol. Pad a lot for coconut flavor. Service. Slow. Asked for each item. No water for almost 20 min. Great music. Bad Bunny!! Little sterile inside but no worries. If based on food alone 5/5. Not too expensive either.

Great googly moogly, what a restaurant. It's definitely a top 10 Mexican spot for me. My best friend and I eat here frequently, and will happily pay to eat their great plates of mole con pollo, enchiladas, and sizzling fajita plates. That is if the little starter salsitas and fresh tortilla chips don't fill you up. Don't skip out on their drink menu too as their blended and classic margaritas and cocktails are clutch as well, and may be deceptively boozier than they taste. End your delicious meal with flan or churros, both of which are also perfectly sweet.

This place is delicious. Our waiter was very upbeat, friendly and on top of our table. Very authentic Mexican vibes inside. The mojara was so good I ate every last bite. I'll definitely be dropping by again.

Cabrera's Mexican Cuisine has a roomy dining area, which is perfect for families, couples, and groups. Our server was super friendly and welcoming, which we appreciated. That said, the service overall could have been more efficient. Some items were missing from our order, like tortillas for my fajitas and onions and cilantro for my friend's tacos. After our food came out, we weren't really checked in on, even though the restaurant wasn't very busy during lunch. The food itself was just okay. The carne asada taco plate was a bit disappointing. The meat was tough and lacked seasoning. The trio fajitas and burrito were a bit better, but still underwhelming. The proteins in the fajitas didn't have much flavor, even with cheese on top. Given the price point, we expected better. The saving grace was dessert. We ordered churros with ice cream, and they were honestly the highlight of the meal. Crispy, warm, and paired perfectly with the ice cream, they helped pep us up after a so-so lunch.

First time here. Food and service was great will come again thank you. Didn't get the breakfast menu until we asked.

Dropped in for lunch and was not disappointed. This place has the authentic Mexican food vibe which I loved. The service was great, our waiter was very attentive and patient since we had a relatively large party. I got a Cadillac margarita, it was decent. I ordered a two Chicken taco plate that came with rice and beans and it was solid! We ordered guac for the table which was really good! This place is worth a try!

Not a bad place lots if seating and pretty fast service we order led a few different plates. Carnitas Michocan, Mocajete Norteño, shrimp, Caldo de Res and forbdeinks Michaladas. The Michaladas needed help, the person that made them must have been new at bartending they were super watery. The Mocajete was very good wifey and son loved it!!! The Carnitas Michocan needed something nothing sure maybe it was the beans not your typical homemade with Cotija... They tasted more like from a can... My daughter really enjoyed the Caldo de Res the bowl was huge!!! Mixed feeling but overall not bad for the price, I rated 4 stars but real close to a 3, because of the beans and Michaladas 2 main staples of Mexican culture need to always stand out!!

Horrible experience! The busser was the best but everything else was awful. Took 42 minutes to get food. Cold food The two servers were talking the chef was backed up but the place was empty complete opposite from my last experience there 2 years ago. Place has gone down hill. No lock on the men's bathroom door. I asked for extra cheese and my dish came with no cheese. Won't be going back Here are images of people bored waiting because it was such slow and bad service

This is a great place to go and watch the game and enjoy good food! Also they will be bringing back karaoke on Friday nights. All of the staff were very friendly. Krissi, the manager, stopped by all tables and had lively and authentic conversations with patrons. My dad was thrilled with the steak tostada salad. I ordered the carnitas which came with beans and rice. Everything was very tasty. This was my first time back in a long time. I truly felt like family when I left. Highly recommend!

Update: 9/6/25 Fajitas, fajitas and fajitas. Cabrera's has the absolute best fajitas and servers. Look at my photo. Tony and Abby were very helpful. We went in at 7:30 and all the tables were filled. The food is excellent and the employees are curious and friendly. You will love Cabrera's!

We went on a Friday late afternoon and sat outside in the patio area I had always loved. I can't put my finger on it, but there were many reasons this wasn't a 5-star experience. Maybe it was the time of day, but the ambience was just off. Yes, four stars is still good, but I really expected better. The blood orange margarita was just okay. Compared to other Mexican restaurants (and boy, have I been to plenty), the margarita was considerably smaller and weaker in terms of alcohol content, but the price didn't reflect this. When I spend $16-20 for a margarita, it's usually money well spent. The 3 tacos plate was great: chicken, carne asada, and al pastor. The carne asada burrito was also very flavorful. The House salsa was fantastic and fresh. I could have done without my very basic veggie tostada, though. Other places have grilled veggies and just a lot more flavor to their veggie tostadas. This one didn't taste like anything authentic at all. I was the slowest diner of the group, and the server asked me twice if I was finished when I still had half of my plate left. He kinda reached in to grab the plate, too, which was awkward. The third time he asked, I had like a quarter left, but I Just let him take it. It was kinda annoying. In the past when servers were going on break or leaving for the day, they've told me and I've closed out the tab. I'm not sure if this was the case, but I felt rushed although it wasn't busy outside at all (we were one of two occupied tables.) Overall, the experience fell short, and even though I'd return in the future, I'm not rushing back anytime soon.

We got the plate of chile relleno with a beef enchilada, the mole plate and a kids quesadilla with rice and beans. 1. The chile in the chile relleno was soooo tiny, the battered egg was big and fluffy which is why it looks big. The rice was crunchy and had pieces of overcooked rice. The beef on the enchilada was on top of the enchilada NOT inside and it tasted like boiled beef with no flavor! I put it to the side. The inside just had a bit of shredded marble cheese. So disappointed. The beans were ok, restaurant quality, canned flavored. 2. The mole was very sweet and although that's not a bad thing, it still didn't have any kind of authenticity in the flavor it was as though it was just packaged sauce dumped on the chicken. 3. The kids quesadilla has bellpeppers and onions inside! Which was not disclosed on the menu. My kid likes bellpeppers but not the green ones and not in her quesadillas... come on. I had to pick them off. Over all I'm glad I live far away from here because it was really bad quality food. The service was nice and attentive. The ambiance was empty and almost abandoned... and I even went on a weekend.

I liked their hard seltzers with fun flavors as jicama, tamarindo and passionfruit. I didn't like so much their signature Yerba Mate Pale Ale, but thought it was an interesting concept. The happy hour special is Monday all day and Tuesday-Friday open until 6pm $2 off full pours. Very family friendly, I always see a couple tables with children and dogs at them. Maybe I'm getting to be an old fuddy duddy but I hate when parents let their kids go free range. Screaming and running around like the establishment is a park these kids becoming trip hazards. There needs to be a revamp of their board game collection. There three boxes of games that looked incomplete or used up, not good with such games as Scrabble and Pictionary. The chips are fresh, the salsa is good, and the menu has offerings that feel more authentic and varied than a lot of other places. I especially appreciate that they have Yucatán cuisine options, which you do not always see at every Mexican restaurant. I am also very fussy with mole and typically do not like it at all, but I actually really enjoy the mole from El Portal. It has been a real eye-opener for me and honestly inspired me to give mole another shot elsewhere. One thing to keep in mind: a lot of the combo plates are smothered in delicious red sauce and plenty of cheese, so if you are not a big cheese person, just be aware before ordering. The enchiladas are good, though sometimes they could use a little more sauce, as the tortillas can come out a bit dry. The margaritas are tasty, but they do feel a little small for the price (Roughly $16 for a 8oz glass?!) The staff are friendly, the vibe is nice, and overall the food is consistently good. The only other heads-up is that some of the tables and booths are pretty small, so it can feel a little cramped in the main dining room. Also, **make sure you get your parking validated**. This is important because if you do not, the parking lot can be extremely expensive. You can also look for street parking on Green Street. This was actually our second attempt, the first time we showed up on a Saturday afternoon they were closed, despite their online hours saying otherwise. We gave them the benefit of the doubt and came back. Service was okay. The food? Disappointing. The shrimp cocktail was the whole reason we made the trip. It tasted watered down, had no seasoning, no lemon, and still had shell on the shrimp. It genuinely tasted like a pre-made Costco cocktail in red dyed water. The fajita plate (shrimp, beef, and chicken) was passable but nothing special. What really ended it for us were the hidden fees. We ordered the fajita plate $30 (+ taxes) a massive spread with a separate plate of rice and beans and they brought out THREE corn tortillas. THREE... I am Mexican. I have eaten at hundreds of restaurants in my lifetime and have never been given only three tortillas for a plate that size. We asked for more tortillas and were charged $4 with zero warning. It's not about the money it's the principle. The charge was never disclosed. When I brought it up with the owner, Lupita, she was dismissive and couldn't explain the reasoning it's not even homemade tortillas. You can literally buy 90 tortillas for $4 at a grocery store! She took off one of the charges but kept the other $2. Meanwhile, they offer unlimited chips and complimentary salsa without blinking. The inconsistency is baffling. We genuinely wanted to support this family-run restaurant we loved seeing the family come in together. But the disrespect during that conversation made it impossible to leave on good terms. Do yourself a favor and drive about a 1.5 miles down the street to El Metate. Their large shrimp cocktail is $15, is so flavorful, and the staff treats you like family. Their pozole is outstanding too. We found them on our first failed attempt to come here and we'll be going back to them exclusively from now on. We will never return to Lupita's and made it clear to not go there in our community thread with 15K people. Unless you like hidden fees and mediocre tasteless overpriced food then this is your place otherwise...don't come here.
