Chilaquiles is my absolute favorite breakfast. I get it everywhere I can. This is the second best I've ever had, which means it really damn good! Favorite Mexican food hole in the wall. Their picadita with cenitas is my favorite, think of a small sope with red sauce and cheese and thin strips of carne asada. I had 5 Asada tacos with everything on them :). The salsas they came with were both pretty spicy but had good flavor. They have a fridge full of beverages to choose from like canned soda to bottled jarritos. The only lady in there was really nice and working between register and cooking. This place is no good if I can can give it a zero I would. Carne asada burrito is not made with carne asada it's meat I just don't know what kind. You would think that this place should be good it has over 4 stars is a mom and pop but no never again. Easily one of the best taco experiences I've had. Went in on a Thursday. Fed a family of 5 for like 30 bucks with their special. Small place but the tacos and tortas are incredible. I found this place after yelping a burrito place close to my job. The ladies were nice service was fine. Food was mediocre. I ordered an asada burrito with everything and an al pastor taco. I should have noticed the red flags when I saw the woman scooping rice out of a plastic bag to make my burrito. Neither of the items had flavor. I have no idea how the "asada" meat was cooked as it resembled a texture of being boiled. For those that don't know, asada literally means grilled, this meat was not grilled. I had the best " picada " its like a sope but even better choice of red or green salsa served with onions , cheese and sour cream topped with thinly sliced steak called "cecina" . Today's special was chicken pepian is like a mole made with pumpkin seeds , really good too. Totally home made in small batches. The verde pollo enchiladas are my favorite however.... I recently tried the carne asada tacos and I must say that these are the best tacos in Pasadena. Whenever I see a new Mexican place in town, I have to try the asada taco. I know handmade tortillas are all the rage right now. They do make a difference. But for me the magic of the taco is really in the meat seasoning and the salsa. This meat was bland and gristly. The salsa tasted mostly of heat and water. There's a menu on the wall, but don't bother. Ask the chef/staff what's cooking and they'll tell you. I've only been here for dinner and have tried (and loved) their chicken mole, costillas with guajillo sauce, and the calabacitas con costillas is one of our favorites. Portions are generous, especially for the price. The Pasadena Day Labor Center is not too far from this place and I've spotted more than a few jornaleros coming in for dinner after a hard day's work.
