    Asada tacos
    Erick G.

I had 5 Asada tacos with everything on them :). The salsas they came with were both pretty spicy but had good flavor. They have a fridge full of beverages to choose from like canned soda to bottled jarritos. The only lady in there was really nice and working between register and cooking. The reason for the 4 star instead of a 5 is because they were out of a lot of items. Especially my favorite Chile rellenos.

If you are looking for some good Menudo this is your place. Yes it's a little busy but the wait is worth it.

    Tacos al pastor & asada

Really good! Got 2 Tacos Al pastor and 2 Dr Asada for their Tuesday and Thursday $1.50 tacos day. Really satisfying. The salsas are not watered down. There's plenty of space to sit down and eat. The cook was really kind.

If you're looking for traditional Mexican food this is the place to go. Very authentic. And very yummy. I had the chicken sopes. Very large. Will come here again.

First timer at this place, not bad...I asked the lady behind the counter for a recommendation on the lunch selection and she pointed out #2 beef with sopas...red/green sauce...cheese, sour cream...put on sides...friendly and traditional families environment.

This place sucks dog food is better pray don't get food posioning. This part last review from David s. Please never go here .
    David S.

This place sucks beans were burnt just awful. Ordered huevos rancheros just nasty. The tortillas we're rubbery and hard. The beans back to that wow it's looks brought out of microwave. So upset with the yelpers reviews they must love dog food. Just awful don't ever go here. Then I called them just in a nice way let them know and the cook said (gracias) wow . Went in the morning around 730am.

Mole poblano de pollo has white meat chicken, a lot of cinnamon flavor and is slightly sweet.
    Ronald C.

I had the chicken mole plate. It had 3 big pieces of white meat chicken and a sauce that had a lot of cinnamon flavor and was slightly sweet, so I added some green salsa to it and it tasted pretty good. The fried beef picadillo tacos are excellent.

Paid 10$ for an el pastor burrito. Ended up getting a rice burrito instead. Avoid this place if you're looking to enjoy El pastor in your burrito. Highly recommend if you're looking for a bean and rice burrito though. Highly disappointed. Not returning

Picaditas choice of sauce and normally topped with thinly sliced beef " cecina" a must try !

This time I got their mango aguafresca, flan, esquite, and chicken torta to try. The mango agua Fresca was sweet mangoy and refershing. The flan was firmer than what I'm used to but was still super creamy, not too sweet and had plenty of this caramely toasty flaves. It's corn season and the corn in the esquite MNM. Amazingly buttery juicy sweet and generously topped with rich mayo, Cotija cheese and tajin. The torta was also REALLY YUMMY and was filled with crunchy fresh onions, lettuce, tomato, and radish, soft beans, savory cheese, and tender limey flavorful perfectly grilled chicken. I even added some of their super fresh yummy guac and omg pure deliciousity right there. Overall this place is still pretty good. Mango agua Fresca $5 Flan $5 Esquite $7 Chicken torta $12 +$4 guac

Gave me a few samples of their water and all were good. Food wasn't bad at all. Got a taco of Asada, solid but nothing crazy. ($3 eh...) Horchata was really good. $6 for a large (average price) Esquite was good, but nothing crazy. Portion was small, but not terrible. $7 averageish price. Buñuelo was very good. Expensive at $1.25 for the side. This is where the 1 star comes. I got an all meat burrito of arrachera. It was a bit salty. Meat was good. Salsa is spicy. BUT THE PORTION. The portion was ridiculous. Smallest burrito I've ever had. Half the burrito was taken up by a roasted onion, which I asked for no onions. $18 is insane. Especially for the portion. $40 spent in total and I'm still hungry. If I ever come back to this place. I wouldn't get any food (maybe a buñelo). Lady cook wasn't the nicest. She probably knew I'd be upset at the portion they gave me. This place is clearly catered to gringos as an "authentic" Mexican restaurant. I hate leaving 1 star, but $18 for a mini burrito is just insane.

It is a real cornerstone of Pasadena dining, there is a love or hate feeling when you bring up this restaurant among locals. Chips and salsa is provided with orders so it is the perfect after work stop. They do have better the ability to make quality margaritas for full price which is almost 2-3 times happy hour but if you like mezcal it might be worth it for a more refined taste. This was not the case when we had our dining experience. We got the plate of chile relleno with a beef enchilada, the mole plate and a kids quesadilla with rice and beans. 1. The chile in the chile relleno was soooo tiny, the battered egg was big and fluffy which is why it looks big. The rice was crunchy and had pieces of overcooked rice. The beef on the enchilada was on top of the enchilada NOT inside and it tasted like boiled beef with no flavor! I put it to the side. The inside just had a bit of shredded marble cheese. So disappointed. The beans were ok, restaurant quality, canned flavored. 2. The mole was very sweet and although that's not a bad thing, it still didn't have any kind of authenticity in the flavor it was as though it was just packaged sauce dumped on the chicken. 3. The kids quesadilla has bellpeppers and onions inside! Which was not disclosed on the menu. My kid likes bellpeppers but not the green ones and not in her quesadillas... come on. I had to pick them off. Over all I'm glad I live far away from here because it was really bad quality food. The service was nice and attentive. The ambiance was empty and almost abandoned... and I even went on a weekend.

I liked their hard seltzers with fun flavors as jicama, tamarindo and passionfruit. I didn't like so much their signature Yerba Mate Pale Ale, but thought it was an interesting concept. The happy hour special is Monday all day and Tuesday-Friday open until 6pm $2 off full pours. Very family friendly, I always see a couple tables with children and dogs at them. Maybe I'm getting to be an old fuddy duddy but I hate when parents let their kids go free range. Screaming and running around like the establishment is a park these kids becoming trip hazards. There needs to be a revamp of their board game collection. There three boxes of games that looked incomplete or used up, not good with such games as Scrabble and Pictionary. After walking up a block found the charming little passage way with some patio seating. It seems like it's a family-owned and operated restaurant as always a great indicator of things to come is the complimentary chips and salsa. They were perfectly thin crispy non-salty and warm, paired with a nice salsa that seems house made but was a little too tomato/ketchupy but by no means bad. The food was good, but the service was especially frustrating. I spent over 30 minutes on the phone, in both English and Spanish, trying to process payment, which lead to nowhere till I had to drive myself to the restaurant to swipe the card manually. When it was time to pick up the order, the restaurant could not spare anyone to help bring the food to our car, despite it being a large catering order and the pickup taking place on a very busy avenue. What was most disappointing was the lack of concern or willingness to offer any assistance. The food arrived late for our event as a result. While the food was good, the poor service has made me reconsider ordering catering from them again, returning as often, and recommending them to others. It's a shame because I genuinely enjoy the food, but there are other options available. Hopefully, the service issues I experienced with catering do not eventually carry over into the restaurant experience.
