Even heard them talking about "should we just take this to go?" .. When I asked the server how much longer, after asking him to just pack my food to go, he stated they were just packing my food to go... 5 more minutes passed. The food is good, but while we dined there, it seems the rice was a little to hard and was not what I was expecting. The California Rolls were rather small and really did not represent what I'm accustomed to. Also, the salmon sauce was a bit too spicy for being Japanese cuisine/fusion, and should probably try to be less spicy. The waiter gave us minimal interaction. We had to flag him down to order and for the check. For some reason, the restaurant was extremely warm inside too. The food was nothing special. The Kids Bento was really sad - it doesnt even come with rice. The cucumber roll was all soggy because the soy sauce spilled over to it. Came on a Friday night around 6:45pm. Vanessa greeted us and gave our menus. It seemed like she was the only server working but her service was great! The ambiance of the restaurant is very calm and welcoming. There were plenty of tables to sit at inside with a nice patio outside with additional seating. Parking: Plenty of street parking out in front. Food: Ordered 3 sets of handroll pairs from the menu: salmon crunch (5/10), baked crab and avocado (8/10), tiger (7/10), spicy garlic bluefin (7/10)--but they were out of bluefin and substituted it with another fish. Baked crab was great but a bit small for the price. The spicy garlic tuna had a great amount of flavor from the crispy onions. The tiger and salmon crunch were okay but probably would not order again. Also ordered the filet mignon fried rice and the baked crab Mac and cheese appetizer. The mac and cheese came out after we finished the hand rolls and the fried rice. Filet mignon fried rice (6.5/10). This was okay. The presentation was great but it lacked salt/flavor and only had 8 dime-sized pieces of filet mignon. Had to add soy sauce on top to make it better. Would probably not order this again either. Baked crab Mac and cheese (5.5/10) --took 45 minutes so be mindful when ordering this. This dish was abnormally sweet. Was honestly not expecting that at all. It was like biting into sugar and cheese with each bite. It's also really small and ~maybe~ good enough for two people but really it's like it's for one person. The saving grace was the crab and cheese. That was super flavorful but the macaroni being sweet kinda threw me off. Overall, this place is decent and I would recommend it if you're looking for something new to try. The service was good. The salmon was fresh and buttery, and at $5 per handroll, quite the steal. The Tiger Roll was so tasty with its sauces that it didn't require additional soy sauce to enhance its taste. And the fried rice was amazing with chunks of tender beef, fried onions and a smokey wok-fried flavor. Service was great with our waitress checking up on us! I went last night to try their Wednesday tasting menu which they change every first Wednesday of the month. It ranged from seaweed to octopus to oysters, duck and an amazing apple pie type of dessert. All the flavors were on point as well as the beautiful decor in the dinning area and our amazing server who was quick to recommend drinks to pair with the tasting. 10/10. Their regular menu is already delicious with my favorite dishes being the ribeye and miso cod.
