Food was delicious and served piping hot. Service was fast and attentive, and the atmosphere was cute and inviting. Would definitely return and highly recommend.

Fast service and very polite staff. The whole place has a welcoming, family-friendly vibe, and it's great for large groups -- we came with seven and were seated easily. The food tasted fresh and "home cooked," which I really appreciate. Highly recommend the chilaquiles.

The cinnamon roll was thick and well frosted. Lots of sugary goodness!

It is hard to believe that we have been in the area for years and have not been to Nano Cafe! Recently we have had breakfast there and had a wonderful time! The outdoor patio in front is a delightful relaxing space. We were seated promptly and immediately a friendly server had glasses of ice water placed in front of us as we perused the menu. We decided to order the Bacon and Eggs, the Blueberry Pancakes, and a Cinnamon Roll. The bacon was nicely crispy and thick. Yum! We chose scrambled eggs which were delightfully fluffy. As a side we decided on hash browns and these were nicely browned on the outside and well cooked on the inside. This was a very filling and tasty breakfast. The blueberry pancakes were nicely cakey with great blueberriness! Really liked the flavor of these pancakes. The cinnamon roll was thick, a little gooey, and nicely frosted. A little hyperglycemia never hurts right? We loved our breakfast at Nano Cafe and look forward to the next time we can visit to try other delectable items on the menu.

Nano Café is located in a cute area of Sierra Madre. My boyfriend and I had noticed it during a prior visit to a neighboring spot for lunch, especially for their breakfast all day offerings. They have a private lot or you can find street parking. The parking lot was overflowed, so we found parking about a block away near a park. Business seems busy, but luckily there wasn't a wait when we came since they have an abundance of indoor and outdoor seating. We were seated at a small wobbly 2 top inside. Our waitress was quick to getting our order, but not as quick when we were trying to waive someone down for the check. It seems like the staff has to manage a high volume of customers per waitstaff. My boyfriend had their Country Skillet ($17.99) which comes with diced ham, bacon, sausage, grilled bell peppers, onions, 2 scrambled eggs over home fries. Standard is gravy on top, but my boyfriend asked for his gravy on the side. I had their California Omelette ($18.99) which has bacon and tomatoes, topped with jack cheese and avocado. It came with home fries or hash browns, which I opted for the home fries. Looking at the menu in retrospect, it is also suppose to come with toast or resh biscuit in which I got neither. While I was waiting for our food, I saw another staff member sneeze in their hand, and then same hand went and got a drink refill for another customer and held the drink at the rim. I also saw the same person sneeze into their work area, without covering their mouth. Ughhh cringeeeee! I'm so glad this individual wasn't our wait staff, but it ruined my appetite. By the time the food came out, I feel like the portion is small than other similar breakfast diners. Especially at this price point. But I guess that's a Sierra Madre higher rent reason. The food tasted about average. Nothing special or unique to make me want to come back... especially with the struggle to waive staff down for the check and questionable health practice by staff. This restaurant is plenty busy and popular. I know my review doesn't matter to them, but I'm definitely not coming back.

An awesome breakfast spot that serves all classic American breakfast dishes! Ordered the chicken fried steak and corned beef hash. Would go back for both and have no complaints.

Food was good, great taste and quality! I had the croissant sandwich, and while you can't go wrong with that, I was still impressed by the taste. I was mostly brown away by the delicious side potato salad! However, 17.99 for this dish rubbed me the wrong way. I appreciated the excellent service and the atmosphere of the outdoor seating!

My coworkers and I wanted to meet up for brunch and I told them about Nano Cafe. As soon as you walk in... You feel the warm and cozy vibe. The servers are super friendly and set up the table of eight for us. We all ordered our yummy food. My favorite is their California omelette, which I got today, my coworkers got a few items that I took pictures of. Everything turned out so good and they were very impressed with the food and the quantity of food that you get. My friends were also really impressed with the service, the servers kept coming around to ask if we needed our coffees refilled. They knew that we were meeting for a birthday and the holidays so they kept telling us to take our time and enjoy each other's company, which we really appreciated. They said they will definitely be back with their families. I've been coming to nano's for a few years now and I can't believe I've never left a review for them. If you want a cute comfy vibe with great service and great food, make sure you come to Nano's!

Nano is your foundational, local 4 star brunch cafe that has all of the things necessary: First off, great and quick service. It is a small business and they really emphasize that through their care for customers. I can tell a lot of people are on a first name basis. Second, the food. Even as things get more expensive, they have very reasonable prices for the food that is made. We got the lox bagel and chorizo scramble and both were delicious. Ambiance is great. A bustling cafe during even the busiest times has a seat for everyone due to how much seating there is. Not much else to say besides the fact that it is highly recommended!

My best friend took me here when she was taking me on a little tour to check out Sierra Madre! (She's moving here). She assured me that everything you order here is good, and she was most certainly right! I got the Salmon Benedict and the most DELICIOUS watermelon cucumber green tea cooler. Mind you, when you order something like this (averaging 6.99), you would expect to get ripped off with the tiniest drink (but hey, at least it's tasty). You will NOT experience something like that. You get a 24 oz drink with a massive piece of watermelon in it (I posted a picture) and it was SO GOOD AND SO WORTH IT! The people there were super nice and accomodating, and it was like those great community diners where they take good care of you and there's plenty of great seating with lots of shade! Bonus points: I actually accidentally left my card there and didn't even realize it until the next day. I called and asked about it and they were so nice and compassionate about it. They kept it in a safe place for me until I got there. I know it should be a given that people are honest, but I still appreciate it when they are! I overall look forward to coming back here again!

When do you have live music? Are reservations recommended?

I saw a live 5-pc. band playing there last Saturday 07/19/25 from 6:30 to 9:30. The place was full so I would recommend making a reservation.

Do they serve memosas at breakfast/brunch?

Yes, but they are not included. It is a separate cost.

Is breakfast served all day and are dogs allowed on their patio?

Dogs are welcome on the patio and they have water bowls available. Breakfast is served all day with 2 exceptions after 3p - no waffles or Eggs Benedict (including w/salmon).

The service: Our server was friendly but inattentive and busy running about which I found odd as the restaurant seemed to be appropriately staffed. We never got our water jug refilled and we had to flag our waitress down for the check. The table next to us had to do the same. This was in stark contrast with the outdoor tables who were well taken care of, I could see this through the glass window front as we were seated at a bar. The wait time for food: I had read through the reviews before coming so I set my timer to see for myself. Our food was served in 45 minutes, not exactly ideal. I understand food takes time, but for such a busy restaurant the turn around was lengthy. I was not the only person to notice this. Many tables were looking around waiting for their food. Towards the end of our meal I heard a woman complaining to the staff about their wait. The food: I enjoyed my lasagna, the lemon ricotta was flavorful, I wish they had topped it with a bit less cheese as that was a bit overpowering but I personally liked it a lot 4.5/5. The chicken parm was decent but my partner was not so impressed, he said it's a 3/5. Parking can be found in the back lot behind the store fronts.

They had the game and we were seated behind a divider that was away from the TV and the bar area. First and foremost, the waitress was nice. She told us that we couldn't order anything beyond the brunch menu until 2pm and that also applied to the cocktails. Fine, my friend and I ordered what was on the menu and hung out until our 3rd party arrived. We were talking and had to talk a little louder given the atmosphere on the other side of the divider, which wasn't a problem for us. The experience took a nosedive when our initial waitress swapped shifts with another waitress. We had to close out tab with initial waitress and start a new tab with new waitress, which wasn't an issue for us. We ordered a few rounds of drinks and were trying to still talk amongst ourselves. However, we were hushed and told by our new waitress to quiet down a few times. I don't know what Karens were sitting on the other side of the divider, but that side of the restaurant was beaming with loud cheers and noises from the other patrons over the big game. I thought this was sort of ironic given the atmosphere of the restaurant and we couldn't even laugh amongst ourselves, without being warned by the killjoy police (our new waitress). The food was okay and the drinks were pretty good, but I'll pass on this place, since they seem very uniform with their rules. Strangely enough, a former dating prospect suggested this place to me 6 months ago, but it's stuck up like he was. The new waitress definitely wasn't happy to be there, and it showed. We spent more than $250 that day, and we'll gladly take our money to other options west of this place in the future.

They currently don't have happy hour. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is decent. Lots of parking spots in the back in case the front is full. The spots are pretty wide. Ambiance: The vibes are classy, old school, and warm. It can also be kinda romantic too. I have been here a couple of times on dates. Since it's dimly lit, you and your date can squeeze in a quick smooching sesh. LOL This time though, I came alone. Solo dining FTW. Food: I ordered the Derby calamari as an appetizer. Then, for the entree, I ordered the 16 oz prime rib with a side of creamed corn. For dessert, I ordered the warm whisky bread pudding. The Derby calamari features lightly seasoned calamari rings and tentacles in a perfectly balanced blend of herbs and spices. The golden batter is crispy and light without being greasy or chewy. It was also served with a Bloody Mary cocktail sauce and classic tartar sauce. Get this classic appetizer, y'all. The 16 oz prime rib with a small side of cubed baked sweet potatoes and red and yellow peppers was cooked to medium rare perfection. The prime rib was perfectly seasoned and slow-roasted. The thing practically melted in my mouth. So heavenly! My only complaint was that my prime rib was a bit too salty for my taste. So the cubed baked sweet potatoes and red and yellow peppers did kinda off set the saltiness of the prime rib. I also had this same problem at the Blue Bayou in Disneyland. I hate it when my meat is over salted, but whatever. The creamed corn was such a great side. Definitely upgrade to this premium side if you like corn. It's so worth it. As a massive dork for corn, this was perfection in a dish. Lowkey this was the star dish for me. Not the prime rib, sadly. The dish is fricken sweet, savory, creamy, rich, and comforting. It outshined the prime rib by a mile IMHO. GET THIS DISH! The warm whisky bread pudding was surprisingly really tasty. This is a classic sweet bread pudding drenched in a rich, creamy whiskey sauce. I got this dessert because it was highly recommended by my waiter. Honestly, I can see why this moist, vanilla-based bread pudding with a generous pour of warm, sweet whiskey cream sauce was highly recommended. The whipped cream and single black berry added a nice touch to this dessert too. Staff: The staff here are very friendly, welcoming, informative, and fast. They accept both cash and credit cards. There is no credit card minimum.

Found the 16 ounces a little too much. I'd recommend everyone just to stick to the 12 ounces. Sides: Still prefer the cream corn and spinach from Lawry's, but overall still a pretty solid meal. Cocktails: Secretariat was good, but if you get a pre-mixed solution from Sprouts and get a Top Shelf Scotch like the discounted Blue Label at Costco, you can create yourself a pretty good mixer at home. Think I should have went with a Pino Grigio or something. Soups: Solid French Onion Soup, although I wished the soup based had a more potent amount of sherry or Sauvignon Blanc. Overall thoughts: very historical indeed. You walk in here and you immediately feel that old money vibe. It has that Rat Pack era feel, Frank Sinatra Playing in the background, and has that Mr. Walt Disney might hang out here aura. Be prepared to dish out 100+ per person. This place has similar vibes to the speakeasy the Cellar in Fullerton California. But I found the prime rib to lack that melt in your mouth and balance fat to lean ratio that you find at Summit House and Lawry's. Nevertheless, service was AAA, Ally was great. Hosts were all really chill. Will return for the filet mignon next time. Not quite 5 stars, but deserves a 4
