Walked in here when my boyfriend was busy getting his sandwiches next door. When I visited I believe that they were recently changing management or ownership because the pictures and menu were different from what I saw from Yelp and also they were trying to sell one of their TV's. Restaurant was super clean albeit the sun was shining real hard into it, making it super hot even when it was December. Service is polite and friendly. It wasn't a super busy weekday morning, but I got my food out decently quickly. They also have some real bang for your buck deals that are worth it for what you pay for. There's every day deals and special daily deals. Actually deals galore. Since I just wandered in, I ordered some of their bang for your buck specials. I got their: 1) Bologna Burger: -Never in all of my days have I seen or even heard of a bologna burger until now. I've only had bologna in school lunch sandwiches so this was a nice twist on a nostalgic food. -It's bologna in a burger bun with mayo and grilled onion. -Simple, yet delicious. -Not bad for $3. 2) Fish Sandwich: -This was $3.50 and came out piping hot as it was freshly fried, I believe? -You can get whiting, swai, or snapper for the fish. I got the snapper since it's the most familiar to me. -Perfectly breaded and seasoned. Moist and fluffy for the meat inside. Goes great with the mayo sauce included. 10/10 I started going here since their new owner got involved and everything tastes homemade and flavorful. So far I've tried the red snappers and the catfish lunch special and can tell it's fresh and not frozen. The portions were generous and enough to share or save for later. I found the menu had a lot to choose from and the prices were relatively reasonable. I got the red snapper lunch special. For around $12.00, I got three pieces of fish, fries and a side. First time trying this spot. I was in the area and wanted to support a local business--the photos on Yelp looked great, so I came in with high hopes. I ordered the fried fish, expecting something savory and well-seasoned, but it fell short. The breading looked promising, yet after the first bite it just wasn't hitting. The flavor wasn't there--honestly, the fries had more seasoning than the fish. I really wanted to like it, and I hope this feedback helps them improve, because the presentation did have potential. I tried, the fishery isn't the same. I tried giving the new ownership a second chance. I first visited the new fishery a couple weeks ago and I ordered the Whiting. I immediately called after purchasing and spoke to the gentleman and explained to him that my fish taste like jerky, the fish was over cooked. He stated that I can come back and get another order & he loved the feedback. Update: I went in again today couple weeks later I ordered the catfish and shrimp meal. The shrimp was overcooked. It's extremely hard and rubbery. I couldn't even eat my shrimp & I'm not calling again about it, so that leads me here. The macaroni and cheese is in such a small cup and made no sense for it to be $2.75 then the french fries was fried extremely hard and for $18 the catfish was a piece split in half if that. The portions are extremely small compared to what it was before for the price. I guess that it works for them, but it won't work for me. I won't be back. I'm going back to the Pasadena Fish market. I will say that my Whiting did taste better. This time than the first time I purchased. The catfish was cool taste a bit old. The ma & cheese was good but TINY..For the price the fish should be out so we can see what we're purchasing like before and FRESH! read more

The place is very clean and the Manager, Joe is amazing. He is the most kindhearted human being I have ever met in the food industry. He was very accommodating, nurturing, sweet, and fun. More people need to know about this place! Price vs quality is absurd!! I got two tacos, one fish and one shrimp, and the grilled pork sandwich and I'm already thinking of the next time I can go. The fish and shrimp were battered just right with the right amount of crisp while not taking away from the actual meat. While the seafood is great I thought the grilled pork sandwich was the star. For only $4 you get a juicy slice of pork with lettuce, grilled onion, and sauce I could only dream of. I decided to give them another try, from my understanding they were under new ownership and the menu looks like they are. Fish fry Friday we ordered from the "new" fishery, my order was as follows 1 jar of oysters which was salted for the cows, meaning cows need the salt for their health, catfish and whiting basket..sigh, my sides were Mac salad, just ok because it was store bought, green beans with potatoes and me ( per the menu) However my green beans didn't have meat, potatoes or seasoning, I guess the tariffs are hitting the price of seasonings something fierce. As far the service I ordered over the phone but the younglady that took my order was pleasant, thank you however it didn't make up for the $74.00 spent on that salt lick unseasoned tariff stricken food. We'll see how long this will last, I suggest they take a loan out to purchase seasonings especially if you're using can food. Here's a little trick for your green beans since they came right of the can into a pot onto your customers plate without any meat use some placebos to jazz them up, and don't be afraid to season them and again if the tariffs are the reason for the lack of seasoning get a big jug of a ALL purpose seasoning. read more

Wow what a nice hidden gem! I first came to this plaza to pick up some sandwiches from Roma's but couldn't resist trying their $3 fish sandwich that they posted on the window of their store. I ordered the Swai because the owner said that one would be the flakiest. The owner and his wife were very friendly and kept their store very clean. I ordered two of the fish sandwiches and they let me pay with card with no transaction fees! The batter they used for the fish was fresh and the tartar sauce was light and flavorful! Ordered the seafood platter with fish, non-jumbo shrimps, and oyster. It comes with two sides. At $15 it's such a hearty lunch. They fried the shrimp and oysters to perfect crisp. I couldn't even imagine how the oysters 'folds' can turn into amazing crispy textures. The shrimps are perfect crisps as well. I got party in my mouth. Oysters are a bit 'strong', but balance them with the fish and shrimps, then it's an amazing treat of rich flavors. The shrimp was my favorite. The menu is small and mostly fried items: Dover Sole, Whiting, Catfish, Snapper, Perch, Shrimp, Jar Oysters, and Chicken wings. Sides: Hush puppies, Potato Salad, Mac Salad, Green Salad, Crinkle Fries, Yams, Collard Greens, String Beans Drinks: Canned Soda/Water. Dessert: Cobbler. I got the COMBO BOX #2 (Five pieces of fish and jumbo shrimp; jar of oysters with two sides included). Everything was good despite the low star ratings here. Seafood seasoning was good. Before I continue, the lady taking the order was genera pleasant, but that's the only nice thing I can say. The 2 pieces of fried fish Talapia turned out to be one piece of malnourished fish cut in half. Then abused further by over frying it into fish jerky. The 6 pieces of shrimp were no better off. It was fried so long it became dried rubber. French fries - the only salvaged part of meal - again burned!! I could only eat a couple. I wish I had my money back. while waiting, I saw a couple roaches trying to escape over the red carpet. z that was a clue. I so wanted to like the place. But they failed me as a customer. I tried this spot out few days ago and to my pleasant surprise found out the food here is DELICIOUS!!! I got the fried catfish, oysters, and shrimp with Cole slaw and potato salad as a side.
