I was recently working and had the pleasure of having Fair Oaks Burger for lunch. We had a party of 30 people and they were kind enough to accommodate us. I can't speak to the inside as we got the food to go, but the staff was pleasant and very friendly. As a group we ordered the Pastrami Sandwhich, Cheesesteak, Chicken sandwich, and several others. For sides we got the fries, onion rings, zucchini and even the corn dog. I can't speak highly enough about our experience. The food was delicious. The sizes were quite large. It's an hour and a half drive, there's almost always traffic, but Fair Oaks Burger is worth the drive. The fried zucchini...addictive, flavorful with or without the ranch dip, and their chow mein is better than most Chinese restaurants. How many times had I ventured past this humble establishment while going to visit my MIL in Altadena, never knowing what magic awaited inside? After reading about all of the amazing things they've done for the community since the Eaton Fire, hubby and I decided that we needed to support a business in the local community. They are an Asian family owned business, they have all of the expected burgers, fries.. and they also have Chinese and Mexican fare! Who has been gate keeping this? The service is beyond friendly, they engage with the local community and knew so many people by name. It feels so friendly and welcoming, and they offer wall space to advertise local events. They are part of the fabric of Altadena! Hubby ordered their burger combo and I got the combo chow mein noodles. Both were outstanding and portions are generous. Today is the final day of cheeseburger week and I decided to try Fair Oaks burger for the first time. I looked over the menu and ordered the cheeseburger combo with a ice tea for $11.49. My order took about 10 minutes and when it was ready I ate outside on the patio. It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon. On my first bit I was hooked. The bun was very soft and the patty was very tender and juicy. The burger had just the right amount of sauce. The fries were like steak fries and were nice and crispy. After a doctors appointment in Pasadena I found myself back in Altadena to try to get around the rush hour traffic I'd find myself in on the way home. Craving a bite of nostalgia because I used to live in Altadena, I had to go back to Fair Oaks Burger. The drive thru is so convenient and we only waited maybe five minutes for our food. My daughter and I both got bacon burgers with everything in them and they were delicious. The patty was very flavorful with the right amount of seasoning and the ingredients were all fresh. These were some of the best zucchini fries I've ever had as they weren't soggy or too thick. They were crunchy and seasoned well. My daughter also got some steak fries to share with her dad and she said they were really good. Their sides come in large portions, so there's more than enough to share. Everyone that we came into contact with here were warm, inviting and helpful. It felt like a quick in and out of the drive thru minus the processed fast food. I really need to come up here more often because they have a really great looking menu with more things that I want to try again. Stopped by because my husband really wanted a burger and it's close by my work. First impression upon walking in was that the menu was very extensive. Not only did they offer American food, but also Mexican and Chinese. The lady who was the cashier was the owner's daughter and she was so friendly! Mom and pop shop vibe. We learned about this place through KNBC-4 a few months ago. We are relieved they survived the Eaton Fire. We met the second generation owners, Christy and Janet. I used to live in Altadena and learned that this place opened after I moved out. Today, I had to have the Pesto Grilled Chicken Sandwich with steak fries and drink. It was deeelicious!! First-time visitor. Ordered the #4 hamburger combo with everything on it (bacon, fresh onion, lettuce, tomato, avocado, and jalapeños) and steak fries. Delish. I dined under their outdoor covered patio which provided nice shade and a view of Fair Oaks Avenue and a great view of the San Gabriel mountains. The owner and staff provide very quick and friendly service. This is the kind of establishment that you want to return to and patronize on a regular basis - a real neighborhood/community member that does good deeds with an on behalf of its neighbors affected by the Altadena/Pasadena fire. We've been to Fair Oaks Burger multiple times before Eaton fire, as the food and service are consistently superb. We were happy to see it featured on Eater LA in November 2024. Our favorite dishes are fried zucchini (hands down the BEST in LA), Fair Oaks Burger, and fish tacos. We were so relieved to see that the establishment survived the fire in January 2025. Currently it is temporarily set up as a location for the Altadena community to gather, eat, and recover. We saw a sign for burger combo for $7.95, an amazing deal. The owner sisters Christy and Janet are kind, upbeat, and selfless people devoted to the community. They have voluntarily turned their restaurant into a community center to assist those in need. Just a short little update.I rode that review shortly after the fire.And I made a grave mistake, the owners are not chinese.They are korean and we're looking at second generation is now running the restaurant and their parents come in sometimes and also help out.It's just such a lovely experience, and they have remodeled.And just i'm so happy that they are surviving.Post Eaton fires.Please give them business. Went here for my first time last week and grabbed a burger combo via the drive-thru window. Burger was fantastic, fries were all-right, and service was ok. With only one car in front of me at the drive-thru, I waited 25minutes after ordering and to finally pay at the window and receive my burger. I immediately took a sip of my soda and it was flat and tasteless but I was too exhausted from waiting to make a fuss.
