As long as I lived in the area, I have never eaten here. Today I decided to give it a try. I ordered the #4 which is the Burger Combo. Super friendly people & very clean inside. They have their own parking lot and also a Drive Thru. The burger was very good, the fries were just ok. Will I go back ? The answer is Yes

First time here and I'm glad I came. Hamburger and fries were delicious made to perfection. I dine in and love the atmosphere. Customer service was amazing. Very friendly and always offering additional service as you enjoy your food. They also provide drive thru if your to busy to stop by. Location is where Altadena fires damaged businesses and homes. So come out and support their business. You won't regret it.

Please support the businesses in Altadena post fire. This gem of a burger/ Mexican / breakfast and Chinese food place owned and operated by two sisters is such a winner in food, service, value and just a lovely business to support until Altadena rebuilds. Best burgers, fried zucchini and fish sandwich in the area! Lots of specials too with daily soups and breakfast specials too. Well worth the drive for great food and to support a great cause. Even a YouTube movie about its history and it rising from the ashes of Altadena to help rebuild the community. Also many articles written on this historic burger stand in Eater and covered by popular YouTubers. Worth the visit even if you are just driving up to Altadena to support the city post fire. They have cozy indoor seating an outdoor patio and a drive thru. Many of the surrounding area is still not rebuilt from the fires so please help support this iconic burger stand!

We jumped on the Fair Oaks Burger bandwagon! How can one local small restaurant serve excellent burgers, Mexican food AND Chinese food at a reasonable price? Well I don't know! It's the stuff of superheroes, that's what it is. You've got to see and eat it to believe it. Warm reception and service, cleanliness, great food (try the fried zucchini) in a no frills diner type atmosphere makes FOB a go-to in Altadena. There is a drive thru, and brisk takeout business too. There are 6 or 7 tables inside and you can grab a table outside as well.

I'm at my favorite burger place in the area to check out their breakfast menu. Fast service. Customers waiting for their food look like they are regulars. Old school comfortable place. Breakfast crew very friendly and being from Hawaii, I love to hear the happy sounds of Spanish. Reminds me of Liliha Bakery back home with the Filipino language filling the restaurant. The breakfast was delicious. Eat em up. I'll have to come back while I'm here to get my burger next time.

How to describe a place that looks like a 50's throwback but has become part of the heart of Altadena? Service is at the counter but food comes out quickly. And with a smile. Mexican. Burgers. Chinese. Soup. Breakfast. And a huge cross section of Altadena locals. So much burned in the fires of January 2025. Some places remain to remind you that a lot didn't including this gem. Food is solid. I usually have their soup (shrimp, full of veggies too) but have done breakfast (solid). Fair Oaks Burger also supports a food pantry and farmers market and so many Altadena events. Just a gem of a place with owners who care.

10/29/2025: First time here and it definitely won't be our last! How many times had I ventured past this humble establishment while going to visit my MIL in Altadena, never knowing what magic awaited inside? After reading about all of the amazing things they've done for the community since the Eaton Fire, hubby and I decided that we needed to support a business in the local community. They are an Asian family owned business, they have all of the expected burgers, fries.. and they also have Chinese and Mexican fare! Who has been gate keeping this? The service is beyond friendly, they engage with the local community and knew so many people by name. It feels so friendly and welcoming, and they offer wall space to advertise local events. They are part of the fabric of Altadena! Hubby ordered their burger combo and I got the combo chow mein noodles. Both were outstanding and portions are generous. Plenty of leftovers for noshing later. If you're near the area, I strongly recommend that you stop by and give them a try! You will not be sorry.

Today is the final day of cheeseburger week and I decided to try Fair Oaks burger for the first time. I looked over the menu and ordered the cheeseburger combo with a ice tea for $11.49. My order took about 10 minutes and when it was ready I ate outside on the patio. It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon. On my first bit I was hooked. The bun was very soft and the patty was very tender and juicy. The burger had just the right amount of sauce. The fries were like steak fries and were nice and crispy. In all a excellent cheeseburger and a great value.

Wow! I don't know how we haven't been to FOB up until now. They're so lovely, so friendly. We dined-in and the food was ready quickly, the indoor seating is spacious and comfortable. I was so impressed with their Jumbo eggroll and the fried zucchini taco. Hubby enjoyed his bacon cheese burger and fries. We'll definitely be back!!

After a doctors appointment in Pasadena I found myself back in Altadena to try to get around the rush hour traffic I'd find myself in on the way home. Craving a bite of nostalgia because I used to live in Altadena, I had to go back to Fair Oaks Burger. The drive thru is so convenient and we only waited maybe five minutes for our food. My daughter and I both got bacon burgers with everything in them and they were delicious. The patty was very flavorful with the right amount of seasoning and the ingredients were all fresh. These were some of the best zucchini fries I've ever had as they weren't soggy or too thick. They were crunchy and seasoned well. My daughter also got some steak fries to share with her dad and she said they were really good. Their sides come in large portions, so there's more than enough to share. Everyone that we came into contact with here were warm, inviting and helpful. It felt like a quick in and out of the drive thru minus the processed fast food. I really need to come up here more often because they have a really great looking menu with more things that I want to try again. There is street parking on Calaveras and a small parking lot if you want to eat inside.

Saw this place get featured on Eater and had to try it out. Asian owned with literally the nicest owners ever. They make an effort to get to know their customers. Food is bombbbb priced well and so filling. I'm coming back to try their fried rice and Mexican food. This place has it all

However, since we came at night time where most of them were closed, we got parking right in front. This spot is more of a take-away place, with 6 counter seatings indoors, and maybe 3 chairs right out front. This tiny burger spot seems to be run by just one person, so it helps that you can self-order at their kiosk. He was very attentive juggling between cooking the made-to order items, and check in on the costumers in case they had questions. After placing my order at their one device, it was roughly a 15 minutes wait. Here's what we ordered: CHEESEBURGER - $9.90 High-quality beef patty smashed with grilled onions, serviced on a toasted Martin's potato bun and topped with pickles and their fry sauce. I really enjoyed this rich tasting burger. I think that fry sauce was a huge factor...but also that soft bun...and that flavorful beef patty. I really enjoyed this. FRIES - $5.25 Golden Thing-Cut Fries. Perfect. I mean this was made to order so they were warm, crispy and so dang good! It's how fries everywhere should be! I was hoping to come back during my trip in LA, but it's okay, it won't be the last time I visit.

The crispy lace edges, the juicy center, the grilled onion, the slightly spicy sauce, the slightly sweet bun...all dreamworthy! Their sweet potato fries aren't all that great to look at, but omg, always perfectly cooked and salted! Perfectly complimented with the fry sauce. All that said, we were disappointed when we received our last order: 1. Packaging change (paper wrapped instead of cardboard box for the burgers) robbed the craveable edges of their crispness. Plus there was so much grease on the paper wraps it actually made it messier to eat than before. 2. The sauce has changed. The spice level increased (still not too spicy), but a side of sauce (which you pay more than a $1 for) is now sent in a premade branded packet. I have zero issues paying extra for a good sauce made fresh in-house, but instead of tasting like a fresh sauce made with mayo and spices, it now tastes of oil and spices and is not nearly as tasty. We noticed the difference on the burgers as well, so it seems like their sauce is all premade now and not nearly as good.

I have such fond childhood memories of going there with my parents and grandparents and receiving what seemed like foot-tall soft-serve cones. They also make the best malts, terrific burgers, and excellent deli sandwiches. The pastrami on rye and grilled cheese are dependable favorites--or you can splurge on a classic banana split. That is still what I order--and what I call it--wherever I am in the world, even when people look at me funny. Whenever I am in Pasadena visiting family and friends, a stop at Connal's for a ripple, shake, burger, and fries is practically mandatory. Some places serve food; others hold generations of memories. The salami was processed, not dry. It came with a major portion of yellow mustard (not requested), tons of finely chopped wet lettuce, no cheese. Horrible and soggy. I would have requested my money back, but it was a to-go order. The quality of the entire restaurant has gone, and it seems no one cares, as this has been going on for over a year. The food here is well worth maneuvering this intersection of Lake Avenue and California Boulevard. I was surprised to see how many people were inside this Peruvian restaurant. As I walked, I noticed a patio section on the outside by the entrance. Once I entered there was a large counter that wrapped around to the side. There was a service counter with a staff member taking orders over the phone as well as assisting customers with ordering to-go food. Everyone inside was extremely busy. Tables nearby were filled with customers. The counter area also had Peruvian products, snacks, candies, and sauces conveniently displayed. There was a short line before I got to the counter to make my order. I was unfamiliar with the menu so I asked for some assistance as to what I should order. There were a few things that were not available on the day that I was there. But I was able to order a number of their specialties. I decided I wanted a half chicken. I was informed that Peruvian chicken has a completely different flavor and comes with a special green sauce. I ordered spicy and extra spicy. I also decided to have the garlic fries, a side salad, and their special beans. I had: -Pollo a La brasa, half chicken. -Song de Pollo -Canary beans with housemaid Aji Amarillo Paste -Garlic fries, side salad, diced cucumber salad. I had them add their special sauces for the salad dressing. And the French fries with a barbecue sauce. When my order was ready for me to take home, they double checked everything asked if I needed some extra sauce which I agreed to and I was on my way. As I left I noticed more and more people coming in as it was getting close to an early dinner time. They had been busy the entire time that I was there, about 25 minutes. The kitchen's fragrant smells permeated the entire restaurant. When I got home and unpacked my food, everything was still warm. Flavors from the food engulfed my dining/kitchen area. Everything that I ordered was exceptional! The chicken flavor was like no other chicken that I have ever experienced: moist and tender. The shredded chicken sandwich was definitely my favorite. The toasted bread was filled to capacity with shredded chicken. Green sauce was added and the flavor was complete! A great value. I enjoyed this sandwich for two meals....both hot and cold! The cucumber salad and the garlic fries were as expected, with the cucumber salad providing a bright clean flavor. I would rate Loli Farms as a great experience. I look forward to coming back and tasting some of their other flavors. This restaurant is sure to continue its excellent reputation!

I don't know where they got the name for their fantastic Sycamore Sandwich, but it's a pastrami reuben with cole slaw instead of sauerkraut, and it very well could be the best I've had outside of New York. Thin, mostly lean pastrami stacked with Swiss cheese, coleslaw, and homemade Thousand Island dressing served hot on grilled rye bread. A heavenly handheld! The thin, crispy onion rings were cooked perfectly, to where the coating was almost falling off, and just oily enough to give moisture and flavor, but not greasy. The fresh, thin, hand cut fries were great by themselves but then add the beef chili and melted cheese, it could be a great meal by itself. Don't forget the Patty Melt, too. Food - 7/10 Tops Special Burger - 6.5/10 Honestly, the burger was just okay. The presentation was nice, but everything else was pretty average. The pastrami had good flavor, although some pieces were oddly chewy. The beef patty also tasted like it had been frozen, which kind of just took away from the burger. Chili Cheese Tots - 7.5/10 The tater tots themselves were great, they were perfectly crisp and cooked well, but, the chili cheese was a bit underwhelming, since I could barely taste the chili.
