This place has been on my list to try, the parking is a little funky but there's a lot behind the restaurant or street parking. First off, complementary chips and salsa which is always a positive. The salsa could be a little thicker. Now on the plate...I got the carne asada and enchilada plate and it was bomb! Portions are huge and the rice and beans were my favorite part. Typically rice and beans are always an after thought but this place gets it right. The meat was flavorful and delicious.

    I liked this light.

This place is tasty. I love a place that serves chips and salsa. A great place to kick back and enjoy some tacos and beer

One of my favorite Mexican spots in the area! Solid choices across the board, usually get their torta (one of my favorites) but just got a quick carne asada taco to take out today. Staff is always super friendly and welcoming. Solid taco, sufficiently satisfying!! Haven't tried everything on the menu yet but definitely want to get there.

We ordered the burria combo plate which includes rice and refried beans. In addition we had Cabeza and lingua tacos and a cabeza burrito. Servings were generous, and i asked for less rice and was still stuffed. The only disappointment was the guacamole which was very watery and not very flavorful. In addition the tortilla chips were a little stale. Regardless, i would return again as well as recommend.

Puebla Tacos #2 is awesome... idk if I'm crazy but the burrito I had was straight up dope.. I'm not usually a full fan of sit down Mexican spots, and for some reason that's all there is in Pasadena, but everything I had ruled.. the atmosphere is dope too.. especially the bald eagle under the American flag X the Hawk under the Mexican Flag combo - I feel you Puebla Tacos # 2 I'm on the hunt for the best Mexican food in Pasadena - I know it has to exist, but I'm gonna add Puebla Tacos #2 in that list for sure.

This time I got their mango aguafresca, flan, esquite, and chicken torta to try. The mango agua Fresca was sweet mangoy and refershing. The flan was firmer than what I'm used to but was still super creamy, not too sweet and had plenty of this caramely toasty flaves. It's corn season and the corn in the esquite MNM. Amazingly buttery juicy sweet and generously topped with rich mayo, Cotija cheese and tajin. The torta was also REALLY YUMMY and was filled with crunchy fresh onions, lettuce, tomato, and radish, soft beans, savory cheese, and tender limey flavorful perfectly grilled chicken. I even added some of their super fresh yummy guac and omg pure deliciousity right there. Overall this place is still pretty good. Mango agua Fresca $5 Flan $5 Esquite $7 Chicken torta $12 +$4 guac

Gave me a few samples of their water and all were good. Food wasn't bad at all. Got a taco of Asada, solid but nothing crazy. ($3 eh...) Horchata was really good. $6 for a large (average price) Esquite was good, but nothing crazy. Portion was small, but not terrible. $7 averageish price. Buñuelo was very good. Expensive at $1.25 for the side. This is where the 1 star comes. I got an all meat burrito of arrachera. It was a bit salty. Meat was good. Salsa is spicy. BUT THE PORTION. The portion was ridiculous. Smallest burrito I've ever had. Half the burrito was taken up by a roasted onion, which I asked for no onions. $18 is insane. Especially for the portion. $40 spent in total and I'm still hungry. If I ever come back to this place. I wouldn't get any food (maybe a buñelo). Lady cook wasn't the nicest. She probably knew I'd be upset at the portion they gave me. This place is clearly catered to gringos as an "authentic" Mexican restaurant. I hate leaving 1 star, but $18 for a mini burrito is just insane.

It was always a real treat. As a teenager I dated a couple of the girls that worked there so I was there on the regular in those days. In my 20's I lived right up the street and hit them up quite often. I don't get there as much as I'd like nowadays but when I do, it is always consistently great. Times have definitely changed but Connal's quality food and super customer service has not! I am a huge Combination Grinder fan and have not ordered anything different for well over 30 years. They are always stacked with lots of high quality cold cuts and delicious Provolone, crisp shredded Lettuce, thin sliced Onions and Vinegar and Oil on a delicious French Roll. In my teens and 20's I did try many samplings on their vast menu and as memory serves, everything was always delicious. Today's Grinder absolutely hit the spot! It had been a while since I last tasted one but the Combo Grinder most definitely never disappoints. I went for it, and got Zings (Zucchini Sticks and Onion Rings). Super hot, crisp and very tasty, especially with some Bleu Cheese Dressing. Jesse took my order and he was very personable and showed me some excellent customer service. If you are looking for some great grub, you cannot lose with Sandwiches By Connal. It is not the original owners but they have kept the same quality and standards over the years.

This hidden gem had incredible sandwiches and portions for unbearable prices. $10 for a sandwich? In LA county?? AND it was good?? Unbeatable. I love a good grinder (pictured) but the stars of the show were the Philly cheesesteak that my boyfriend got and our onion rings. It is so rare to have an onion ring nowadays that doesn't slide out of the batter. Will be back!!

During my visit, I ordered a Family Feast with chow mein, orange chicken, chicken with green beans, and eggplant tofu. Since I do not like tofu, I politely asked the employee serving me, Austin, if he could provide the eggplant with little or no tofu. Austin immediately told me that he could not do that and that the dish had to be served with tofu. Unsatisfied with the response, I approached the cashier, Hannah, and asked if I could speak with the manager. Hannah responded professionally and asked if she could help first. She listened to my concern, treated me respectfully, and attempted to assist me. I even complimented her by saying that she demonstrated excellent customer service and that I would hire someone with her attitude anytime. After hearing my compliment to Hannah, Austin appeared upset. Instead of focusing on serving customers, he approached Hannah and confronted her. He then went to find the manager, Ken. I found this behavior unprofessional and inappropriate, especially in front of customers. I even have a photograph showing part of this interaction. When Manager Ken came out, I explained my concern regarding Austin's attitude and lack of customer service. After some discussion, Ken eventually agreed to provide the eggplant dish with only a small amount of tofu. This demonstrated that a reasonable accommodation could have been made from the beginning. My concern is not the food itself but the manner in which I was treated. Austin seemed more interested in defending himself and discussing the matter with coworkers and management than serving customers. His behavior created an uncomfortable atmosphere and reflected poorly on the restaurant. I would like this matter reviewed and hope that additional customer service training can be provided. On the other hand, I would like to commend Hannah for her professionalism, patience, and excellent customer service. She handled the situation far better than expected and represented your company well. Thank you for your time and attention. I look forward to hearing from you regarding this matter. Henry Aba
