Great carne asada burrito. Order without rice and you have an amazing creation. I wanna say it's their beans and how they marinate their carne that gives it great flavor. I personally like their green salsa but they also have red if ur like the spice. If you choose to eat there they give u complimentary chips and salsa which also taste great!! So yea if you're looking for a good carne asada burrito. This is the spot. read more

I got some aguachiles, thinking that they would be decent knowing that this is sent the police to get them, but they were actually pretty bad. I was only able to eat one shrimp. It seemed like they weren't cooked properly and they weren't even butterflied. Who else said, we weren't able to eat them. We also got a milanesa torta and the meal, Vanessa was thinner than couple of leaves of lettuce... In all seriousness, it was like it barely had any meat and it was about $19-20. We also got three taquitos. that weren't great. Cool atmosphere, but this place disappointed me. read more

Puebla Tacos #2 is located at 1819 East Villa Street Pasadena, California 91107. This location is located just off the corner of North Allen Avenue and East Villa Street... (East Villa Street is the off ramp from the 210/134 freeway going West). This is a great restaurant, with a very good reputation. After walking through a small covered patio with umbrellas, I was at the front service desk and greeted by a friendly staff member. I let them know that I had looked at their menu but wasn't sure what to order and would like some suggestions, as to their most popular menu selections. They have an extensive menu. I like that they utilize the family recipes to create their authentic South of the border flavors. Realizing that any combination was possible in their recipe box, I chose the following: 1 Burrito Mojado/ Wet 1 #14. 2 Enchilada Mole 1 Quesadilla con Carne, They packed up everything carefully and I was on my way after about 10 to 12 minutes. I was handed my food by Angel. He indicated that the next time I was in I should order some other family specialties. I look forward to trying their hard and soft tacos, chicken tostada, nachos chile Relleno and their sandwiches. He said their Cubano Sandwich is very popular. The quesadilla was very flavorful with spiced chicken. The enchilada with mole was a real treat with great smoke and spicy flavor. The burrito was moist with just the right amount of spice. There was no need for their homemade red or green salsa. They have a large open room adjacent to the ordering counter. It is filled with tables and booths. There are many times that they are very busy. If you have a group call ahead and let them know. There is a wait sometimes but it is usually not very long. The weekends are the busiest. And it seems to be the entire day as people love going out for breakfast. They have a parking lot alongside the building and there is some street parking available. I look forward to going back soon! read more

After living in Phoenix for 30 years, I think I know good Mexican food. And this food is always delicious.

This is our favorite Mexican spot in Pasadena. Very family friendly, delicious food, and wonderful service. Whenever we can't decide what to eat, we head up to Puebla and always leave happy. read more

I Love Puebla Taco #2! They outdo themselves every time! The owner is very hands on and is always a pleasure to talk with. The staff is always super friendly and outgoing. The Chicken Mole is my go-to and is incredible. Lots of traditional flare, served bone-in with a super tasty dark deep sauce and toasted sesame seeds! The tacos absolutely rock! Full of lots of your choice of meat in house-made tortillas! The freshly made Chile Rellenos are to die for! Stuffed with lots of cheese and fried to a light crisp, with a delicious red sauce. The Pork Chops and Cactus are simply delicious, always tender and juicy. I prefer the Green Sauce. All of the food here is great. I've never had a bad experience here! The service is always impeccable. And the Margaritas are always refreshing. read more

This place has been on my list to try, the parking is a little funky but there's a lot behind the restaurant or street parking. First off, complementary chips and salsa which is always a positive. The salsa could be a little thicker. Now on the plate...I got the carne asada and enchilada plate and it was bomb! Portions are huge and the rice and beans were my favorite part. Typically rice and beans are always an after thought but this place gets it right. The meat was flavorful and delicious. read more

We were looking for a Mexican restaurant and we came across this place. It seemed like it had good reviews so we decided to give a a shot. Boy did we choose poorly, we ordered different items and they all disappointed. We had a asada torta and it had no flavor, the meat was tough to chew and had a lot of nerve. We also ordered tilapia and it was extremely crispy that it was hard to even get the meat off the fish. We also got asada tacos with chicken tacos as well and the chicken had no flavor too. And to top it all off we actually saw the cook handling raw meat with his bare hands after we had received our order and were out the door. This explains why we got stomach aches. read more

This used to be my go-to spot for menudo, but the quality has declined significantly. The broth is thin and watered-down, the ingredients lack quality, and the portion sizes have shrunk. I won't be returning. read more

I haven't had the sit down food yet, but would definitely like to come back for that. Just came to pick up a quick lunch and ordered both their carne asada and pastor tacos. I think I'll pass on the tacos next time, might not be their specialty. Their Al pastor meat fell apart quickly and was quite gritty; sour in taste and was not your traditional pastor meat. Carne asada had more a soupy-flavor (almost like a sullungtang meat flavor to it), but tasted much better than the pastor. Service was quick and they were really friendly. Parking is also available on the side light with a shared spot of a local Mexican market. read more

This used to be one of our go to spots until prices got too high! Food is good but for a tacos dorados plate and a wet burrito like $40 !!! I'll go to my taco truck instead and get a lot more food for that price. Sorry Puebla, but Mexican food can't be this expensive. read more

One of my favorite Mexican spots in the area! Solid choices across the board, usually get their torta (one of my favorites) but just got a quick carne asada taco to take out today. Staff is always super friendly and welcoming. Solid taco, sufficiently satisfying!! Haven't tried everything on the menu yet but definitely want to get there. read more

Ordered asada nachos and a asada torta, received a milanesa torta and asada burrito. Cashier argued with me regarding how I didn't order nachos. Left with the burrito it was fine, my torta was also Not correct. Food not worth 31$ read more

It's truly a wonder how this place is still open. If you're down to wait an hour to receive the worst most bland "Mexican food" of your life, this is the spot. We were the ONLY table. THE ONLY TABLE in there and we were ignored the entire time we were in there. It took over 10 minutes to get our water and chips and another 10-15 to take our order. And then 30 minutes from there to receive our food. Again, ONLY PEOPLE THERE. The meat tasted old, the salsa was bland, rice and beans bland. Portions are tiny. Prices are expensive. Terrible quality. Terrible service. See ya again never read more

The best place for a torta in Pasadena! We love the breakfast too. Super nice and friendly staff and excellent music always playing.

We ordered the burria combo plate which includes rice and refried beans. In addition we had Cabeza and lingua tacos and a cabeza burrito. Servings were generous, and i asked for less rice and was still stuffed. The only disappointment was the guacamole which was very watery and not very flavorful. In addition the tortilla chips were a little stale. Regardless, i would return again as well as recommend. read more

Don't go here. I was dropping by looking forward to a strawberry margarita and some food. Everything is disappointing. The rice is too salty, the beans have LARD in them, the margarita isn't sweet at all!! I ordered everything in Spanish. The dishes are super light weight cheap plastic. I was surprised and thought "well they're struggling" but then the dish came and it was like a toy child's plate. Ok, how much does it cost to use better plates, glasses etc? So I thought "at least the food will be good". Why spend the same amount or more here when you can have better food elsewhere? And of course as USUAL they don't cater to vegans. Too busy staying ignorant. I actually added a saccharine to my drink trying to sweeten the margarita, and it didn't sweeten it. And they don't use tequila, they use a less alcoholic agave. read more

Puebla Tacos #2 is awesome... idk if I'm crazy but the burrito I had was straight up dope.. I'm not usually a full fan of sit down Mexican spots, and for some reason that's all there is in Pasadena, but everything I had ruled.. the atmosphere is dope too.. especially the bald eagle under the American flag X the Hawk under the Mexican Flag combo - I feel you Puebla Tacos # 2 I'm on the hunt for the best Mexican food in Pasadena - I know it has to exist, but I'm gonna add Puebla Tacos #2 in that list for sure. read more

Never been here before but saw some people waiting outside and came in to try. There was nothing that caught my eye so ordered a menudo and some taquitos, honestly nothing like wow! And the taquitos where very greasy when I bit into it I also heard another table talking about how good the micheladas were so we tried that and a coffee. Michelada was ok nothing to boast about and the coffee was dreadful did drink 2 sips and that was it couldn't finish it. Will not be coming back read more

I ordered a chile relleno burrito using "yelp take out." The burrito was awesome. The bag it came in had salsa containers already in it, but no napkins. So, I grabbed napkins in the store. Burrito was well wrapped in yellow paper and foil. I ate it in my car. Would've been a mess if I didn't have napkins, though. read more

In 1992, during the LA riots, the corner strip mall a block from my house with a Ralph's Florist, a Mexican bakery, a barber, a liquor store, and a pet grooming business was firebombed and burned to the ground. I still remember the sounds of the bottles of alcohol exploding like Molotov cocktails in the blazing inferno. A few years later, Puebla Taco moved to the neighborhood, and picked up the customers (like me) who used to buy lengua tacos from the bakery lady! Over the years, this "Pueb" as my family calls it had expanded into the neighboring unit, adding a dining room. Before this, the prices were really low, the food was great, and it was little more than a walk up to-go place. After they added the extra square footage, prices went up. A lengua taco is 2.10 these days... A little steep, but still tasty. Corn tortillas are handmade in the store, and the food is always hot and fresh. A help-yourself salsa bar adds value. They don't have fountain drinks, but you can either buy a Jarritos or Coke from their cold case, or go next door to the liquor store and bring your own drink... They don't seem to mind. Burritos and Tortas here are very good, but with that $ markup. I like menudo here on the weekend... It cures a long Friday night like nothing else. read more

Came to this little place in memory of my mom, who just past away; it was her favorite little Mexican place around the corner from her home. I got a cheese enchilada and beans, which were good and authentic, but their fried ice cream was fantastic! It was extremely fresh, and the flakes on the outside were very crispy. They did not overdo the chocolate sauce, in which some places do, and do not put cheap whip cream all over it. It comes with cinnamon sugar chips, which either those or a shell doused in cinnamon sugar is a must for the best of fried ice creams! The ice cream was vey creamy, as opposed to some that are a hard, frozen ball. All in all, I was very surprised with how fantastic this was for such a small place. It is tied with the # 2 spot of the 100's I've tried. If you love fried ice cream, you've got to come to Puebla Tacos No 2! read more

Mom wanted some Mexican food so I selected this place since it's not too far. The guy that took my to go order at the counter was really friendly. He seemed to know all the customers that came in after me so must get a lot of repeaters. I ordered 3 beef enchilada combos. This place uses shredded beef instead of ground beef. It definitely tastes better with the shredded beef. The refried beans are good as well as the rice. All in all, a place I would return if I want some Mexican food. read more

Hi, went there tonite !!! It was yum , but they didnt make the bread for the torta, the way i use to remember/get it. It has always been buttered and grilled/toasted. It was just plain ( meaning not toasted or grilled on stove ) I luv it like that !!! but next time I will ask them to do it that way. And got the sopes, for first time I have had before , but at a Salvadorean restuarant on Lake. Those were better , they make them different here. But i do love the milanesa here , yummie read more
