(East Villa Street is the off ramp from the 210/134 freeway going West). This is a great restaurant, with a very good reputation. After walking through a small covered patio with umbrellas, I was at the front service desk and greeted by a friendly staff member. I let them know that I had looked at their menu but wasn't sure what to order and would like some suggestions, as to their most popular menu selections. They have an extensive menu. I like that they utilize the family recipes to create their authentic South of the border flavors. Realizing that any combination was possible in their recipe box, I chose the following: 1 Burrito Mojado/ Wet 1 #14. 2 Enchilada Mole 1 Quesadilla con Carne, They packed up everything carefully and I was on my way after about 10 to 12 minutes. I was handed my food by Angel. He indicated that the next time I was in I should order some other family specialties. I look forward to trying their hard and soft tacos, chicken tostada, nachos chile Relleno and their sandwiches. He said their Cubano Sandwich is very popular. The quesadilla was very flavorful with spiced chicken. The enchilada with mole was a real treat with great smoke and spicy flavor. The burrito was moist with just the right amount of spice. There was no need for their homemade red or green salsa. They have a large open room adjacent to the ordering counter. It is filled with tables and booths. There are many times that they are very busy. If you have a group call ahead and let them know. There is a wait sometimes but it is usually not very long. The weekends are the busiest. And it seems to be the entire day as people love going out for breakfast. They have a parking lot alongside the building and there is some street parking available. Boy did we choose poorly, we ordered different items and they all disappointed. We had a asada torta and it had no flavor, the meat was tough to chew and had a lot of nerve. We also ordered tilapia and it was extremely crispy that it was hard to even get the meat off the fish. We also got asada tacos with chicken tacos as well and the chicken had no flavor too. I Love Puebla Taco #2! They outdo themselves every time! The owner is very hands on and is always a pleasure to talk with. The staff is always super friendly and outgoing. The Chicken Mole is my go-to and is incredible. Lots of traditional flare, served bone-in with a super tasty dark deep sauce and toasted sesame seeds! The tacos absolutely rock! Full of lots of your choice of meat in house-made tortillas! The freshly made Chile Rellenos are to die for! Stuffed with lots of cheese and fried to a light crisp, with a delicious red sauce. This place has been on my list to try, the parking is a little funky but there's a lot behind the restaurant or street parking. First off, complementary chips and salsa which is always a positive. I haven't had the sit down food yet, but would definitely like to come back for that. Just came to pick up a quick lunch and ordered both their carne asada and pastor tacos. I think I'll pass on the tacos next time, might not be their specialty. Their Al pastor meat fell apart quickly and was quite gritty; sour in taste and was not your traditional pastor meat. Carne asada had more a soupy-flavor (almost like a sullungtang meat flavor to it), but tasted much better than the pastor. Service was quick and they were really friendly. It's truly a wonder how this place is still open. If you're down to wait an hour to receive the worst most bland "Mexican food" of your life, this is the spot. We were the ONLY table. THE ONLY TABLE in there and we were ignored the entire time we were in there. It took over 10 minutes to get our water and chips and another 10-15 to take our order. Don't go here. I was dropping by looking forward to a strawberry margarita and some food. Everything is disappointing. The rice is too salty, the beans have LARD in them, the margarita isn't sweet at all!! I ordered everything in Spanish. The dishes are super light weight cheap plastic. I was surprised and thought "well they're struggling" but then the dish came and it was like a toy child's plate. Ok, how much does it cost to use better plates, glasses etc? Servings were generous, and i asked for less rice and was still stuffed. The only disappointment was the guacamole which was very watery and not very flavorful. And the taquitos where very greasy when I bit into it I also heard another table talking about how good the micheladas were so we tried that and a coffee. In 1992, during the LA riots, the corner strip mall a block from my house with a Ralph's Florist, a Mexican bakery, a barber, a liquor store, and a pet grooming business was firebombed and burned to the ground. I still remember the sounds of the bottles of alcohol exploding like Molotov cocktails in the blazing inferno. A few years later, Puebla Taco moved to the neighborhood, and picked up the customers (like me) who used to buy lengua tacos from the bakery lady! Over the years, this "Pueb" as my family calls it had expanded into the neighboring unit, adding a dining room. Before this, the prices were really low, the food was great, and it was little more than a walk up to-go place. After they added the extra square footage, prices went up. A lengua taco is 2.10 these days... A little steep, but still tasty. Corn tortillas are handmade in the store, and the food is always hot and fresh. A help-yourself salsa bar adds value. They don't have fountain drinks, but you can either buy a Jarritos or Coke from their cold case, or go next door to the liquor store and bring your own drink... They don't seem to mind. Burritos and Tortas here are very good, but with that $ markup. I like menudo here on the weekend... It cures a long Friday night like nothing else. read more

Came to this little place in memory of my mom, who just past away; it was her favorite little Mexican place around the corner from her home. I got a cheese enchilada and beans, which were good and authentic, but their fried ice cream was fantastic! It was extremely fresh, and the flakes on the outside were very crispy. They did not overdo the chocolate sauce, in which some places do, and do not put cheap whip cream all over it. It comes with cinnamon sugar chips, which either those or a shell doused in cinnamon sugar is a must for the best of fried ice creams! The ice cream was vey creamy, as opposed to some that are a hard, frozen ball. All in all, I was very surprised with how fantastic this was for such a small place. Mom wanted some Mexican food so I selected this place since it's not too far. The guy that took my to go order at the counter was really friendly. He seemed to know all the customers that came in after me so must get a lot of repeaters. I ordered 3 beef enchilada combos. This place uses shredded beef instead of ground beef. Hi, went there tonite !!! It was yum , but they didnt make the bread for the torta, the way i use to remember/get it. It has always been buttered and grilled/toasted. When I pick up my friend from the airport after traveling from NY, this is the place we stop before I take him to our house. He is as white as the day is long, and he absolutely LOVES this place, as do I. He orders the Lengua tacos and gets about 4 of them (filling). I know a lot of you will think that lengua is gross, but it is actually delicious. If a white man thinks they are good, you should take my word for it. Personally I love the carnitas, the lengua, and the pastor. Doesn't matter how you get it... burrito, taco, etc. It is always delicious. Ask for the roasted jalepenos and onions as a side, it's free and delicious to go with your meal. Watch out, it's spicy. The pico de gallo is delcious. I pick it up sometimes for a party if I don't feel like making my own. I'm usually a spicy salsa kind of gal, but for standard Pico de Gallo, this is the best. Sorry Baja Fresh, no comparison. Friends have often asked me where I purchased it and are always surprised it is from this cute neighborhood restaurant. Regardless of what you order, you will never be disappointed. Seriously some of the worst and most overpriced Mexican food I've ever had. The only reason I didn't give it one star? It was the only place open on Sunday nearby. It appears that all the places nearby are closed Sunday for some reason. The beans were the absolute worst I've ever had, bar none. They tasted like water and were barely a different color than the low quality shredded cheese sprinkled on top. We had 2 quesadillas and 2 enchilada combos and no drinks, since it was to go, and it was $40. The quesadillas were only cheese about 1/2 way through and bare tortilla the rest of the way. They were $7.95 each!! The salsas were worse than La Victoria canned salsa and super watery. So disappointing. I was actually mad because the food was so awful and so expensive. Also, the service was lax and they just didn't seem to care. The atmosphere looks like a gaudy bathroom with fake brick and cheesy colors. I could not have dreamed up a worse Mexican experience...
