    Window For Walk Up Orders

I love it in and out. It's the Healthiest burger and fries for fast food. Quality ingredients. Service and atmosphere are cool.

The line at the walkup window went pretty fast for a Thursday at 1:00pm. Got my usual - hamburger, animal style, extra everything. Careful sitting by the parking lot - motorcycles are smelly.

This is supposedly the oldest In-N-Out still in operation in Southern California if not the chain. It's the original style layout with such an emphasis on drive thru that there's only outdoor seating. I was there on a Tuesday night and by 8 o'clock the car line was pretty long. I walked up and there was a bit of a wait to get a person at the window, but once business was done in about 10-minutes I had a good/lukewarm burger plus fries that were better than I-N-O average. Backing it all up was some of their tasty beverage to wash it down! Burger could have been a bit warmer, but it was good. Exterior access restrooms were available, but they were top quality for that type.

Burgers tasted great, fries were Luke warm at best. This drive thru has always taken a long time in my opinion. But when we got to the window it seemed like they were just playing around. Which would make me understand why it always took so long. Plus because the area is so small they have to go back n forth to get more prep items. Which halts the line as well if they run out of something.

This In N Out location is aaaaalways packed. I've never seen the car line less than the piano store. However I do see that the associates hustle and try to get the orders quicker by going further down the car line. Truly appreciate their hustling! Their kitchen is small so it's incredible how many associates they pack inside to make all that food! The parking lot only has 3 spots so I wouldn't count on being able to grab a spot so I usually try to avoid the car line and find street parking around the block and walk to place the order at their window. One rainy day, my daughters and I stopped by to claim their free cheeseburgers from the library book club and the nice associate Charbel offered them free hot cocoa with marshmallows. Aww that made my daughter's hearts melted with joy.

I enjoyed discovering this In-N-Out Burger location. It is the oldest operating In-N-Out Burger in the U.S. It opened in 1952 and is known as store number 5. Before In-N-Out Burger started opening in other states in the 90's, you could only dine at one in Cali. In my family, we would always stop at an In-N-Out on the way to Disneyland or SeaWorld for summer vacation. It was a fun treat and I would buy a t-shirt and wear it all the time. Even though we have them back in AZ, I still usually only visit them when I am in California. I enjoy keeping it a fun late-night treat for myself when I am visiting. I was in Pasadena recently and was feeling that late night craving for In-N-Out Burger. It was midnight and this location was the closest one to my hotel. I was blown away by the number of cars in line for this place. The line went several blocks. When I got a glimpse of the store itself, I could not believe how small it was. There was a double drive-thru, no dining room, ONE palm tree (most have two) and a small parking lot that can only hold a handful of cars. I had never seen an In-N-Out concept like this before. But then I did not know this was the oldest operating store before coming here. On top of the building was its trademark arrow pointing to the restaurant. Except this one was neon yellow and green instead of red. The sign is now a historic city landmark. Another fact that I read is that this store was the first to offer milkshakes. Because there was nowhere to park, I parked a couple blocks down the street and walked over. There were a few people in line at the walkup window. The kitchen area is so small and employees were bumping into each other constantly. I used to work fast food back in the day and cannot imagine working in these conditions. But the service was good and food came out in under 20 minutes. Because it was after midnight, there were several characters hanging out in the parking lot in the back of trucks. I definitely inhaled a lot of second-hand smoke that night waiting for my food. This is a busy In-N-Out location. I am not sure if I will have a chance to eat at this location again. But it was cool knowing that I ate at a historic In-N-Out Burger location. And as always, my Double-Double with fries hit the spot.

Could never go wrong with InnNOut. I like to order their fries well done with grilled onions on top! Burgers are delicious and you can't beat that price for the quality they serve.

In-N-Out never lets me down--it's my go-to when I'm craving a burger and want a drive-thru option. It's always consistent, and I know I'll get something delicious every time. Lately, I've been all about the grilled cheese, especially with grilled onions and chopped chilies. It's seriously so good! And I can't forget the strawberry vanilla shake or the cherry Coke--super happy In-N-Out finally has cherry Coke on the menu! This location tends to always have a line, but it's definitely worth the wait. It's one of the smaller locations, so it gets packed, but the staff is always so friendly and welcoming, even when things are busy. Big shoutout to the employees working in that tiny space--they're always working hard and serving with a smile. If you want a solid, tasty meal with great service, In-N-Out has you covered every time!

Tonight we decided to switch things up a little, and hubby ordered the bacon cheeseburger. Normally we prefer the quarter-pound patty, but this one was slightly thicker, which definitely made us feel full a lot quicker. That said, the burger was still super juicy, had the right filling-to-meat ratio, and came on that perfectly soft bun that holds everything together without falling apart. Solid choice. I stuck with my usual chicken breast salad, and it was delicious as always. Fresh, satisfying, and dependable -- although I'll admit I'm still not a fan of bell peppers, so those got politely pushed to the side. One thing I have noticed over time is that the fries seem to be getting a little smaller in portion each visit. I also miss the thicker-cut fries from about six months ago -- those were my favorite. The current ones still do the job, but the old style definitely had my heart. Overall, this is still a definite must-try spot if you're craving a good burger. Consistent, satisfying, and always hits the spot. Happy eats!

It was always a real treat. As a teenager I dated a couple of the girls that worked there so I was there on the regular in those days. In my 20's I lived right up the street and hit them up quite often. I don't get there as much as I'd like nowadays but when I do, it is always consistently great. Times have definitely changed but Connal's quality food and super customer service has not! I am a huge Combination Grinder fan and have not ordered anything different for well over 30 years. They are always stacked with lots of high quality cold cuts and delicious Provolone, crisp shredded Lettuce, thin sliced Onions and Vinegar and Oil on a delicious French Roll. In my teens and 20's I did try many samplings on their vast menu and as memory serves, everything was always delicious. Today's Grinder absolutely hit the spot! It had been a while since I last tasted one but the Combo Grinder most definitely never disappoints. I went for it, and got Zings (Zucchini Sticks and Onion Rings). Super hot, crisp and very tasty, especially with some Bleu Cheese Dressing. Jesse took my order and he was very personable and showed me some excellent customer service. Once upon a time, we lived dangerously close to this establishment, and I've honestly thought about it more often than I'd like to admit ever since. So when I found myself in Pasadena a few weeks ago, you better believe I was coming back. I ordered my usual: an unbelievable burger, fries, and a Coke--of course. But the crown jewel of the meal, as it has always been, is the fried zucchini. I have never found better fried zucchini, and trust me, I've been trying for years. Service at the window was just as friendly as I remembered, and we grabbed a spot tucked under the patio instead of staying inside--perfect for people-watching as folks came and went. There's something really special about being welcomed back by a place that tastes exactly like you remember. Connal's still delivers.

First bite of the burger was a little disappointing. Burger was thin and seemed overcooked to me. I thought it was dry. Roll, lettuce, tomato, onion and mayo were ok. Not bad overall but for some reason I expected a better burger experience. Let's talk about the fries. Truly classic French fried potatoes. Perfectly cooked. Light golden color. Nice texture and flavor. What every French fry should look and taste like. Coke was great. Sorry to say I was not impressed by the burger. This was my experience on 05/09/2026.
