    Window For Walk Up Orders

I love it in and out. It's the Healthiest burger and fries for fast food. Quality ingredients. Service and atmosphere are cool.

The line at the walkup window went pretty fast for a Thursday at 1:00pm. Got my usual - hamburger, animal style, extra everything. Careful sitting by the parking lot - motorcycles are smelly.

This is supposedly the oldest In-N-Out still in operation in Southern California if not the chain. It's the original style layout with such an emphasis on drive thru that there's only outdoor seating. I was there on a Tuesday night and by 8 o'clock the car line was pretty long. I walked up and there was a bit of a wait to get a person at the window, but once business was done in about 10-minutes I had a good/lukewarm burger plus fries that were better than I-N-O average. Backing it all up was some of their tasty beverage to wash it down! Burger could have been a bit warmer, but it was good. Exterior access restrooms were available, but they were top quality for that type.

This In N Out location is aaaaalways packed. I've never seen the car line less than the piano store. However I do see that the associates hustle and try to get the orders quicker by going further down the car line. Truly appreciate their hustling! Their kitchen is small so it's incredible how many associates they pack inside to make all that food! The parking lot only has 3 spots so I wouldn't count on being able to grab a spot so I usually try to avoid the car line and find street parking around the block and walk to place the order at their window. One rainy day, my daughters and I stopped by to claim their free cheeseburgers from the library book club and the nice associate Charbel offered them free hot cocoa with marshmallows. Aww that made my daughter's hearts melted with joy.

Burgers tasted great, fries were Luke warm at best. This drive thru has always taken a long time in my opinion. But when we got to the window it seemed like they were just playing around. Which would make me understand why it always took so long. Plus because the area is so small they have to go back n forth to get more prep items. Which halts the line as well if they run out of something.

I enjoyed discovering this In-N-Out Burger location. It is the oldest operating In-N-Out Burger in the U.S. It opened in 1952 and is known as store number 5. Before In-N-Out Burger started opening in other states in the 90's, you could only dine at one in Cali. In my family, we would always stop at an In-N-Out on the way to Disneyland or SeaWorld for summer vacation. It was a fun treat and I would buy a t-shirt and wear it all the time. Even though we have them back in AZ, I still usually only visit them when I am in California. I enjoy keeping it a fun late-night treat for myself when I am visiting. I was in Pasadena recently and was feeling that late night craving for In-N-Out Burger. It was midnight and this location was the closest one to my hotel. I was blown away by the number of cars in line for this place. The line went several blocks. When I got a glimpse of the store itself, I could not believe how small it was. There was a double drive-thru, no dining room, ONE palm tree (most have two) and a small parking lot that can only hold a handful of cars. I had never seen an In-N-Out concept like this before. But then I did not know this was the oldest operating store before coming here. On top of the building was its trademark arrow pointing to the restaurant. Except this one was neon yellow and green instead of red. The sign is now a historic city landmark. Another fact that I read is that this store was the first to offer milkshakes. Because there was nowhere to park, I parked a couple blocks down the street and walked over. There were a few people in line at the walkup window. The kitchen area is so small and employees were bumping into each other constantly. I used to work fast food back in the day and cannot imagine working in these conditions. But the service was good and food came out in under 20 minutes. Because it was after midnight, there were several characters hanging out in the parking lot in the back of trucks. I definitely inhaled a lot of second-hand smoke that night waiting for my food. This is a busy In-N-Out location. I am not sure if I will have a chance to eat at this location again. But it was cool knowing that I ate at a historic In-N-Out Burger location. And as always, my Double-Double with fries hit the spot.

Could never go wrong with InnNOut. I like to order their fries well done with grilled onions on top! Burgers are delicious and you can't beat that price for the quality they serve.

In-N-Out never lets me down--it's my go-to when I'm craving a burger and want a drive-thru option. It's always consistent, and I know I'll get something delicious every time. Lately, I've been all about the grilled cheese, especially with grilled onions and chopped chilies. It's seriously so good! And I can't forget the strawberry vanilla shake or the cherry Coke--super happy In-N-Out finally has cherry Coke on the menu! This location tends to always have a line, but it's definitely worth the wait. It's one of the smaller locations, so it gets packed, but the staff is always so friendly and welcoming, even when things are busy. Big shoutout to the employees working in that tiny space--they're always working hard and serving with a smile. If you want a solid, tasty meal with great service, In-N-Out has you covered every time!

Expensive at $1.25 for the side. This is where the 1 star comes. I got an all meat burrito of arrachera. It was a bit salty. Meat was good. Salsa is spicy. BUT THE PORTION. The portion was ridiculous. Smallest burrito I've ever had. Half the burrito was taken up by a roasted onion, which I asked for no onions. $18 is insane. Especially for the portion. $40 spent in total and I'm still hungry. If I ever come back to this place. I wouldn't get any food (maybe a buñelo). Lady cook wasn't the nicest. She probably knew I'd be upset at the portion they gave me. This place is clearly catered to gringos as an "authentic" Mexican restaurant. I hate leaving 1 star, but $18 for a mini burrito is just insane.

It was always a real treat. As a teenager I dated a couple of the girls that worked there so I was there on the regular in those days. In my 20's I lived right up the street and hit them up quite often. I don't get there as much as I'd like nowadays but when I do, it is always consistently great. Times have definitely changed but Connal's quality food and super customer service has not! I am a huge Combination Grinder fan and have not ordered anything different for well over 30 years. They are always stacked with lots of high quality cold cuts and delicious Provolone, crisp shredded Lettuce, thin sliced Onions and Vinegar and Oil on a delicious French Roll. In my teens and 20's I did try many samplings on their vast menu and as memory serves, everything was always delicious. Today's Grinder absolutely hit the spot! It had been a while since I last tasted one but the Combo Grinder most definitely never disappoints. I went for it, and got Zings (Zucchini Sticks and Onion Rings). Super hot, crisp and very tasty, especially with some Bleu Cheese Dressing. Jesse took my order and he was very personable and showed me some excellent customer service. During my visit, I ordered a Family Feast with chow mein, orange chicken, chicken with green beans, and eggplant tofu. Since I do not like tofu, I politely asked the employee serving me, Austin, if he could provide the eggplant with little or no tofu. Austin immediately told me that he could not do that and that the dish had to be served with tofu. Unsatisfied with the response, I approached the cashier, Hannah, and asked if I could speak with the manager. Hannah responded professionally and asked if she could help first. She listened to my concern, treated me respectfully, and attempted to assist me. I even complimented her by saying that she demonstrated excellent customer service and that I would hire someone with her attitude anytime. After hearing my compliment to Hannah, Austin appeared upset. Instead of focusing on serving customers, he approached Hannah and confronted her. He then went to find the manager, Ken. I found this behavior unprofessional and inappropriate, especially in front of customers. I even have a photograph showing part of this interaction. When Manager Ken came out, I explained my concern regarding Austin's attitude and lack of customer service. After some discussion, Ken eventually agreed to provide the eggplant dish with only a small amount of tofu. This demonstrated that a reasonable accommodation could have been made from the beginning. My concern is not the food itself but the manner in which I was treated. Austin seemed more interested in defending himself and discussing the matter with coworkers and management than serving customers. His behavior created an uncomfortable atmosphere and reflected poorly on the restaurant. I would like this matter reviewed and hope that additional customer service training can be provided. On the other hand, I would like to commend Hannah for her professionalism, patience, and excellent customer service. She handled the situation far better than expected and represented your company well. Thank you for your time and attention. I look forward to hearing from you regarding this matter. Henry Aba
