outrageously small portion for the price

prices are outrageous. ordered a chili cheese fries which was $12 and was expecting a pretty generous portion. instead we got something less than half that size. they literally gave me a handful of fries. maybe the size of a large fries at mcdonalds. there were so little fries i could easily count the # of fries! stay away from this place, super greedy.

Machaca breakfast plate good price for the portion size. Don't forget your coffee

The machaca breakfast plate was legit, nice portion and good home style flavor. What really surprised me was the coffee, it was fresh and robust and I enjoyed a good cup with my breakfast. The service was on point, quick and easy to order, got exactly what I ordered with a few minutes of ordering. They have a drive thru and you can dine in, for a slow morning come in and sit with the fine folks of the area and enjoy a good neighborhood spot like this. places like this are scarce so let's support small businesses.

    Cheeseburger combi

Somewhere in the grapevine area on my trip from Sacramento, I was craving either a Chinese food lunch special...or burger. The mapquest led me to a Chinese restaurant in this shopping center, but the big lettering of "Burgers" caught my attention. Starting off, this is a SOLID 3...a 3+, if you will. I miss regular mom and pop shops serving basic food, as opposed to Sacramento which for some reason tries to cook above its station in its bougie-ness. The gentleman was friendly, took my order, and they got my sods for me. I ordered the ordinary Cheeseburger combo. The burger would not grace a magazine cover, but it tasted....like a tasty cheeseburger should. Good meat, and I could taste the gooey melty cheese. The fries were burning hot, and the potato was soft on the inside. Though probably not entirely their fault (thanks, inflation), my only knock is $17 seems a bit much. I only visit So Cal twice a year at most, and want to try a bevy of other restaurants, but if friends ever wanted to stop here, I'd be happy with another cheeseburger combo

    Breakfast Burrito and spicy salsa
    Amanda H.

My boyfriend and I walked over to finally try Dena's! After seeing consistent crowds around the ordering window, I knew this would be a must-try gem. You are able to order outside from the window or dine-in inside or on the patio. There are lots of pothos plants if you make it indoors. We both got breakfast burritos. I got the bacon and ham with spicy salsa and he got the combination with hot sauce. The portion size for the price (and quality) was worth it! The spicy salsa had a gradual kick but definitely made my burrito. Can't wait to come back and try some more of the menu!

    Taquitos plate

Always feel welcomed when I come here. I had the chicken taquitos plate today, and an iced coffee that was delicious. We came in (4 of us) before the lunch rush which was good my order was ready in less than 10 minutes. This is not only a fast food restaurant they actually prep some dishes at the moment as well.

Casual fast food restaurant that has a pretty extensive menu. From burgers, sandwiches to burritos and salad, there are lots to choose from. Order was ready in about 10 min. Food was decent.

Cheese fries ( i think it ) only had monterey cheese , they were out of the mixed one they usually use. But it was still good

Hi, went again tonight , haven't been in months. Wanted to try pastrami melt on sourdough and cheese fries. But he did say he was out of cheddar cheese. So could only use monterey jack on the fries. But on the pastrami i wasn't sure what kind of cheese they use or if we choose. I think he said he has cheddar. I don't know, honestly i get confused with different cheeses ( unless i see it ) in front of me in the package , lol. But both were good , only thing is the pastrami melt was not grilled as much as it could of been , and one reason is , he hardly buttered it. So next time i will be sure , to mention i like them buttered and grilled /melted good !!! :)

    Cheeseburger

Overall an OK burger experience. I drive by everyday and wanted to try it out. Just got a plain cheeseburger. Food came out quick. It is exactly what you would expect from a small mom and pop hamburger shop. Nothing wrong with it. Nothing exceptional or exciting about it. Very standard. Pretty decent and satisfied. Pasadena just has too many good restaurants within 5mins that it would be hard to come here instead of all the other choices out there.

This was not the case when we had our dining experience. We got the plate of chile relleno with a beef enchilada, the mole plate and a kids quesadilla with rice and beans. 1. The chile in the chile relleno was soooo tiny, the battered egg was big and fluffy which is why it looks big. The rice was crunchy and had pieces of overcooked rice. The beef on the enchilada was on top of the enchilada NOT inside and it tasted like boiled beef with no flavor! I put it to the side. The inside just had a bit of shredded marble cheese. So disappointed. The beans were ok, restaurant quality, canned flavored. 2. The mole was very sweet and although that's not a bad thing, it still didn't have any kind of authenticity in the flavor it was as though it was just packaged sauce dumped on the chicken. 3. The kids quesadilla has bellpeppers and onions inside! Which was not disclosed on the menu. My kid likes bellpeppers but not the green ones and not in her quesadillas... come on. I had to pick them off. Over all I'm glad I live far away from here because it was really bad quality food. The service was nice and attentive. The ambiance was empty and almost abandoned... and I even went on a weekend.

I liked their hard seltzers with fun flavors as jicama, tamarindo and passionfruit. I didn't like so much their signature Yerba Mate Pale Ale, but thought it was an interesting concept. The happy hour special is Monday all day and Tuesday-Friday open until 6pm $2 off full pours. Very family friendly, I always see a couple tables with children and dogs at them. Maybe I'm getting to be an old fuddy duddy but I hate when parents let their kids go free range. Screaming and running around like the establishment is a park these kids becoming trip hazards. There needs to be a revamp of their board game collection. There three boxes of games that looked incomplete or used up, not good with such games as Scrabble and Pictionary. The food was good, but the service was especially frustrating. I spent over 30 minutes on the phone, in both English and Spanish, trying to process payment, which lead to nowhere till I had to drive myself to the restaurant to swipe the card manually. When it was time to pick up the order, the restaurant could not spare anyone to help bring the food to our car, despite it being a large catering order and the pickup taking place on a very busy avenue. What was most disappointing was the lack of concern or willingness to offer any assistance. The food arrived late for our event as a result. While the food was good, the poor service has made me reconsider ordering catering from them again, returning as often, and recommending them to others. It's a shame because I genuinely enjoy the food, but there are other options available. Hopefully, the service issues I experienced with catering do not eventually carry over into the restaurant experience.
