They have sweet treats as well.

First time here in more than a decade. It was cleaner than I remember and the man behind the counter was nice and helpful. I found the menu had a lot to choose from and the prices were relatively reasonable. I got the red snapper lunch special. For around $12.00, I got three pieces of fish, fries and a side. I chose the hush puppies. I was pleasantly surprised at how well I enjoyed the food. I'm just intrigued enough to return and try some different menu items.

My family and I have been going to the fishery for decades; since I was a child. We would order Large Box of Fried Sole. I have to say under new ownership we tried twice and we are not coming back. It's unfortunate because we really love the flavor but the sole fish is SUPER THIN. There's no meat and the price is $37.00! Come on now. I hope they change this so we can continue supporting our local restaurant.

First time trying this spot. I was in the area and wanted to support a local business--the photos on Yelp looked great, so I came in with high hopes. I ordered the fried fish, expecting something savory and well-seasoned, but it fell short. The breading looked promising, yet after the first bite it just wasn't hitting. The flavor wasn't there--honestly, the fries had more seasoning than the fish. I really wanted to like it, and I hope this feedback helps them improve, because the presentation did have potential. One other note: the menu setup is a little confusing. The main items are listed on the wall above the register, but other dishes and specials are scattered around the restaurant. P.S. If the owner ever wants help from a graphic designer to make the menu clearer and more customer-friendly, I'd be happy to lend a hand.

I tried, the fishery isn't the same. I tried giving the new ownership a second chance. I first visited the new fishery a couple weeks ago and I ordered the Whiting. I immediately called after purchasing and spoke to the gentleman and explained to him that my fish taste like jerky, the fish was over cooked. He stated that I can come back and get another order & he loved the feedback. Update: I went in again today couple weeks later I ordered the catfish and shrimp meal. The shrimp was overcooked. It's extremely hard and rubbery. I couldn't even eat my shrimp & I'm not calling again about it, so that leads me here. The macaroni and cheese is in such a small cup and made no sense for it to be $2.75 then the french fries was fried extremely hard and for $18 the catfish was a piece split in half if that. The portions are extremely small compared to what it was before for the price. I guess that it works for them, but it won't work for me. I won't be back. I'm going back to the Pasadena Fish market. I will say that my Whiting did taste better. This time than the first time I purchased. The catfish was cool taste a bit old. The ma & cheese was good but TINY..For the price the fish should be out so we can see what we're purchasing like before and FRESH!

This is a hidden gem in Pasadena. They have flavorful soul food fried fish meals, shrimp, greens, yams, etc. They have a huge selection of fish to choose from. The place is very clean and the Manager, Joe is amazing. He is the most kindhearted human being I have ever met in the food industry. He was very accommodating, nurturing, sweet, and fun. If you're in the Pasadena area and want some good fried/or grilled fish, go eat here you will not be disappointed. All orders are made fresh. Note: Practical prices and you can choose one of each fish for your meal depending on what you order. I did not like the green beans they needed a little more flavor and the yams were just ok. But everything else was very good. They have sweet potato pie and peach cobbler. I had the sweet potato pie and it was good.

More people need to know about this place! Price vs quality is absurd!! I got two tacos, one fish and one shrimp, and the grilled pork sandwich and I'm already thinking of the next time I can go. The fish and shrimp were battered just right with the right amount of crisp while not taking away from the actual meat. While the seafood is great I thought the grilled pork sandwich was the star. For only $4 you get a juicy slice of pork with lettuce, grilled onion, and sauce I could only dream of. A true mom and pop shop with great service and great food that deserves more customers.

$3 fish sandwich posted on the window. The shop/restaurant looked very bare. Store didn't smell fishy so that's good. Their display of fish was also very minimal which I didn't mind. Display case for frozen seafood is unnecessary. I ordered and I stood there. They fry the fish fresh to order. I got 2 $3 fish sandwiches. It's important to mention. Where can you get a fish sandwich for $3. Super simple burger bun, light tartar sauce, and a piece of fresh fried snapper. You can choose snapper, whiting or swai fish. Simplicity.

I liked the flavor. The catfish and hush puppies were both fried well. They were not too dry either. The sweet potatoes were okay too.

We pointed out some allergies to the staff and he helped us work around it. The orders came out quickly and he checked in on us frequently to see if we were okay. Great service! Bakka Wild Salmon - This salmon had a lot of things going on for it, in a good way! The combination of flavors felt very refreshing, especially on a hot day. The lime and basil played a big part there. Crispy Short Rib with Lime - Even initially before coming here, this was the dish that caught our attention. I will admit the portion size was a bit smaller than I expected and was even skeptical when it came out. However, without a doubt, this was the highlight of the visit. As someone that loves savory foods, this really hit the spot. The burst of flavors settles in right away. Truffle Wok Seared Noodles - We wanted to pick this noodle dish as a balance to the protein dishes. It did its job but it tasted okay. Not something that stood out. Slow-Drip Vietnam Coffee Flan - I liked the caramel that was layered on the flan, it was crunchy and added a nice texture. It was a nice presentation but tasted okay. Thai Tea - This was my personal drink. It was a standard Thai tea but came with ice cream on top. It was not too sweet but didn't stand out compared to other items. Strawberry Pandan Lemonade - This was my girlfriend's drink. I had a small sip here but found it was refreshing and not too sweet. However, I didn't really get any pandan flavor, mainly strawberry. When it all comes together, it was a good experience. The interior of the story is more dimly lit and felt like a romantic night dinner, despite being the middle of the day. The dishes had a balance of standard and hidden gems. Everything was more than sufficient for two people to share. Service was great and very attentive. Will come back for the Crispy Short Ribs! Came at 530 pm on a tuesday, and there wasen't anyone here yet. Afterwards it filled up quickly!! The main thing I dont like about this place is they dont have the prices on what your ordering. Which I'll get too at the end. Like any other Chinese restaurant, their menu is super extensive. I love how they have a little bit of everything. And its very well organized too. We ordered the following: 1. Crab and fish maw soup- this soup was amazing. It was just the right temp. Got me sweating. Can easily feed 12 people. Great amount of maw. The consistency is just right. Tasted so good!! 2. Small lobster special- on a bed of noodles. It was about 5 lbs. Cooked well. Could do without. Basically flavors. And it was expensive!! About $30 a lb. So this one dish cost basically the same amount as all the other dishes. Which was just too much. If I knew it was that much I would definitely not have ordered it. 3. Walnut shrimp- not the best walnut shrimp I've had. But it was ok. 4. Garlic shrimp- this shrimp dish was ok. Too many bell peppers and onions. It was just ok. 5. Mongolian beef- flavors were not that great. Very tender though. Could've been better. 6. Sea trout- this was amazing!! I love the sauce. Fish was so soft and tender. The heat, the spice, the sweetness. Some of that sauce in white rice was just perfection. It was really really good. Best dish of what we ordered. 7. Kung pao chicken- this was a really good dish. Crispy bits of chicken. But so soft and tender inside. I love the sauce that it was in. It was by far one of the highlights of the meal. It was good food. Price for everything (except the lobster) was pretty good. Food tasted amazing for the most part. Typical Chinese customer service. Pay at the front. Massively large portions. Solid authentic Chinese food.
