I drove down Woodbury last Sunday at around 4:30 p.m. and couldn't find it. Where the address should be, there was only an unnumbered house. Are they closed on Sunday, and take down signs and numbers on that day?

To all Pasadena residents, Rodney's Ribs is an absolute institution. Rodney has parked his truck…read morethere for decades and it has been consistently delicious all this time. If you're looking for "fall off the bone ribs" (this generation calls it "tendernism") or ribs that taste like smoke, then Rodney's is not for you. If you're looking for tender ribs with that perfect amount of chew and a fabulous bbq sauce with just the right sweetness-to-spicy kick ratio, then this is THE spot. I usually ask for the sauce on the side but when Rodney forgets and lays it on, I'm not going to complain because the sauce is damn tasty and he gives you so much bread that I can just use the top layer of sauce as my personal dip. The ribs are the star no doubt but don't miss the brisket and hot links because they can hold their own as well. But what makes it complete is Rodney himself. The man is a true gentleman and his love of bbq and his creations are infectious and we can't help but feel like we're guests at his backyard barbecue.

Finally got to try Rodney's Ribs, and it did not disappoint. It's located in a CVS parking lot, so…read morethere's plenty of parking available. It's a one-man operation, so wait times can be a bit longer if he's busy--but it's understandable. I loved the neon signs and the hospitality Rodney brings. You can genuinely taste the soul he puts into his food. That said, a few notes come down to personal preference--so if you enjoy it as-is, feel free to take this with a grain of salt. The ribs were incredibly tender--10/10. They were truly fall-off-the-bone. Personally, I would have loved a bit more of that smoky char you get from Texas-style ribs, but that's just my preference. Either way, Rodney clearly knows what he's doing. The potato salad wasn't my favorite. It leaned heavily on mustard, and there seemed to be a lot of relish or pickles, which threw me off a bit. Still, I'd absolutely come back again just for the ribs. The customer ahead of us ordered brisket, and I appreciated that Rodney was upfront about whether it was on the leaner or fattier side--that level of honesty goes a long way. Overall, the BBQ smelled and tasted great, and the pricing is very reasonable for the portions you get--it's definitely worth the value. If you enjoy good BBQ, I'd recommend making the trip to check this spot out before more people discover it. One thing to note: the ribs are truly fall-off-the-bone, so if you prefer a firmer, more "bite-through" texture where you can really gnaw on the meat, this might not be your style.

The outdoor seating area, with a few tables set up, made for a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience, and it's great that you also have the option to take your food to go. Just one look at our plates was enough to make our mouths water. I ordered the tri-tip plate with potato salad, mac and cheese, and mild BBQ sauce, and it even came with a slice of bread. The tri-tip was unbelievably juicy and tender. I could cut it with a plastic knife and it practically melted in my mouth. The sides were just as impressive. The mac and cheese was rich, creamy, and clearly homemade, exactly how I like it. The potato salad stood out as well. easily one of my favorite sides I've had anywhere. On top of the amazing food, the service was excellent. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and happy to offer recommendations, which we were very glad we followed. Overall, a fantastic experience from start to finish

It was hard to find parking lot due to Rams playoff game at the bar behind bbq place. The owner was nice and our food order was ready when we arrived. Tri tip was tender and it tastes better with a dip of bbq sauce. The Mac and cheese was really good, I was too full to try hubby's the ribs plate. Nice family owned bbq place in Pasadena.

We are so glad we did! The casual atmosphere out front and the lunch special banner lead us to believe we'd be having a cheaper dinner. We were ushered into a beautiful outdoor patio dining area, greeted by very friendly staff and supplied with carefully selected table settings. The environment was charming and relaxing. The menu was large and varied. We settled on a few things to try and wished we could have ordered more. The Greek salad was absolutely delicious. Everything was so fresh, the flavors were perfectly balanced. The chicken breast kabob plate was so generous in its portions, the chicken skewers were huge. The rice was wonderful as was everything else. We also got the egg boat to share and the bread was incredible. We definitely want to go back and try other wood fired items there. I'm sure the pizza is wonderful if it uses the same bread. Pricing on everything was very reasonable considering all the factors. I definitely got the impression that this is run with love by a family. They were friendly and kind, and their love of food showed in every bite. Their pride in their endeavor showed in all of the little touches in creating a nice atmosphere. We will be back

The pork BBQ was the best meat we had, followed closely by the lamb chops. The chicken breast was very good but lost out in a tough competition. We added Fries which are slices of potatoes, not French fries. They were not greasy and seasoned very nicely. And we had the Adjarian Khachapouri again, because we could not pass up this mouth watering delight. A sumptuous mix of bread, cheese , egg and spices. Add in a clean patio for dining, a friendly and attentive owner, and it is not to be missed.

And this dinner would cost you $23 in LA!" I asked whether he had white meat chicken. He said yes. I asked for ribs, white chicken, hot links, yams, and baked beans. I received ONE RIB which was incredibly tough, a chicken leg quarter with the backbone still attached, I don't like dark meat and I tried the leg anyway to not waste my money, it tasted freezer burned. The "hot links" were wieners and had ZERO spice to them. I received store bought potato salad and I wanted yams, and the so called baked beans taste like a can of pork n beans with a touch bbq sauce or maybe some brown sugar. The greens were edible but they had no meat, so I could understand why they were a little bland. My uncle who's a vegan liked the greens. I basically ate the tough rib and threw the rest in the garbage. A waste of my $17. I will NEVER try this spot again and I suggest you don't either. I wish I had noticed that they only had two stars before I ate there.
