The food was great, but the service was horrible. The workers were rude and rushing my party to leave while we were eating. The workers were pointing and saying for us to leave. 0/10 would not eat here again. read more

After all these years residing in Seattle, I finally made it here. The hub says that it has immensely improved from "back in the day." This is a cash only establishment but have no fear! There is an ATM machine right by the door. Upon entrance, there's an abundance of tables. The decor kinda reminds me of a place I went to in Vietnam with the metal chairs and covers on the table. I ordered the medium #15 with everything. The server was kind enough to ask us if we want boiled bean sprouts. *high five* I love a lot of lime in my pho, and this place did not skimp! The broth was clear and flavorful. There's a good ratio of noodles and meat. You know how sometimes when you go to pho joint and there's more soup than the noodle and the meat, and then it makes you question your life choices on why you didn't order a large in the first place? Well, this is not that place. I would return, and recommend this place if you're in the area. read more

I was not impressed with the service. Had to ask several times for one order they forgot. We also had 5 adults and 2 toddlers and they still charged us for the 20%. Pho was mediocre. Would try to go somewhere else next time. read more

Great go-to Vietnamese in my neighborhood. Quick, friendly, fast. They're always busy which means they have excellent food and the price points are great for the budget conscious. Check them out! read more

Chicken Pho has great broth with lots of flavor! My go to pickup, especially when nursing a cold.

No-frills authentic pho that is only $11 for medium and $12 for large. It's SO GOOD and the meat is always so tender and they are generous. I got the #9 Pho Tai, Nam, Gan, Sach, and it was so perfectly seasoned and the broth was like a warm hug. Probably the best pho in Seattle. read more

My partner lives across the street from here so I have frequented this place sooo many times, can't believe I'm just now reviewing it. Honestly, one of the best pho in Seattle! I think my partner goes here once/week lol. The Chinese donuts are fried fresh of course and goes perfect with pho. The broth is PERFECT and the meats are soooo good. One of the few places that sells fatty brisket. CASH ONLY! With no ATM inside. Also they're always out of soda, lol so bring you're own if you desire haha read more

Pho is great and everyone should support family run businesses in Seattle before they're all gone! If you're looking for homemade food, look no further. My favorite Pho place "pho 2000" in Boston taught me a lot about pho. I like the rare round eye on the side with onions and I cook it slightly in the soup. Their raw steak would taste of butter. It was the star of the show! Pho 2000's sign is a big neon Cow head and the sourcing of ingredients was definitely a priority. I realized today, after having mid pho (at a place that will not be named) that the good Pho places get more marbled round eye steak. When it doesn't taste like butter, I think its lean round eye. This is my hypothesis. I wonder if anyone has had the same thought? My experience at Pho Bac is that sometimes you get the juicy, buttery round eye. read more

My husband and I were craving pho at 9am and decided to make the drive out to this place. I'm a firm believer in giving places the benefit of the doubt, even if not in the most favorable location or intriguing from the outside, the broth itself was worth the drive. This is after 15 minutes of me tackling my small pho, they have good sized portions as well! Not the friendliest but I was there for the broth regardless. read more

for the price and portions, you'll be extremely taken care of. I get the pho Dac Biet which is always good. I tried the passion fruit mule which was surprisingly strong. I always get the fries but usually they're pretty greasy. They're a thicker cut fry. But the lemongrass aioli they serve is perfection. I will say for more recent trips, the beef rib pho has just been ok. The beef is tough off the bone and the meat portions have significantly gone down. Only issue with the restaurant is not enough bathrooms. There's one bathroom for a pretty large place (other bathroom was out of order). Spent 20 min waiting for the bathroom.. read more

BEST PHO SPOT IN SEATTLE. Has and will always be my favorite. Broth is clear (before it cooks the raw meat) and super flavorful but not overly salty where you can't enjoy it. The broth is so good you don't need to add hoisin or sriracha. The plate of herbs/veggies provided is HEAPING compared to any other pho place , with LOTS of fresh basil, lime slices, bean sprouts and jalapeños. Their rice dishes are also super solid here as well. The place is not nice like the pho bac sup shop, a bit run down and looks sketchy from the outside and is cash only, but it's truly the best and worth coming to this location to eat!! read more

One of my favorite Pho places in Seattle, and the first I'd take out of town guests to. They have a couple locations, so make sure you're ordering from the right one if you're ordering to go. Excellent flavorful broth (sometimes I add a dash of salt, personal preference), plenty of veggie toppings, and a generous portion of brisket. Large is $15 now- reasonable quality to price ratio in the competitive Seattle Pho market. read more

Don't let the appearance of this place fool you, this place has the best pho in Seattle. Better than the other Pho Bac. Hands down. While there is absolutely no decor, and looks a bit dirty (lol.. Service was horrible. Was seated, order taken and then forgotten about for 30 minutes. We watched 3 other tables be seated. We waved down our server who then come by and asked if anyone took our order yet. After we told her that she took our order she asked for it again before going back to the kitchen to finally bring out our food. She blamed the computer for not recording our order even though we saw 3 other tables get their order with no issues. She clearly forgot and didn't want to take responsibility. Won't be coming back. read more

Pho reminds us our home, Washington. This is the by far the best pho in the state in my opinion. Yes, the taste has changed compared to the OG pink boat pho bac but still good. Also this location is better than the international district one in terms of presentation, taste. This place is my institution for pho. Yes service can be bothersome but im okay with $15 pho with this much portion and quality. Welcome back! read more

I love this place. This is the best Pho I've had in Seattle, and honestly one of the best I've had anywhere. This place is cash only, the prices shown is tax included. Very easy to find, but the parking lot is tiny. Luckily there's plenty of street parking nearby. The broth is excellent. Even though the place looks pretty sketchy and not the cleaniest, all the ingredients are really fresh. It's not very loud since most people were heads down devouring their pho. I think you just find a seat when you walk in, at least that's what I've been doing, so don't wait for someone to show you to a seat. The food comes out relatively fast considering it's usually full. Price is pretty good, serving size is average, but I walk away full. Definitely a must try if you are in the area. read more

Delicious and huge portions! Ordered one pho combination and one pho thai nam large for take out. Order was ready in 10 minutes and portions were huge for $13 each! Pho Bac is fiiiine but definitely not close to my favorite Vietnamese food in Seattle. Our group ordered some Pho, Vermicelli, and I had the turmeric noodles dish. Everything was good, but IMO the only thing worth returning for is the turmeric noodles because they're so unique. We went on a Sunday evening around 7 and it was pretty busy but we arrived ahead of a few groups and were seated quickly. The food comes out fairly quickly, which is nice too. I'd heard such good things from others and was disappointed. Ultimately a good meal, but in an area with so many great options, it's not near the top of my list. read more

Yes, their Pho is very good. You wouldn't know from looking at the restaurant, but their food is great.

This place should not be associated with the Pho Bac name or brand. We only came to this location because it was Memorial Day and the other locations were closed. That was the first disappointment because we had such a good experience at the location downtown and their upstairs bar. This one is located in a kind of sketchy neighborhood and looks pretty rundown both inside and outside and parking can be tough. It's also sparsely staffed and when you're finally able to flag someone down, they aren't friendly or welcoming at all. Despite this, they were completely full and we were fortunate that a table only just opened up when we arrived. The table supplies like chopsticks, spoons, and napkins were all empty so we had to ask for some which took a while. The table looked barely cleaned too and I had to dust off food debris from my chair onto the floor where there was already a lot. After finally flagging someone down to order we were surprised with our food. Surprised in that the quality was so poor and honestly a shame to their name. The soup broth was bland and the meat quality was poor. Specifically, the meatballs had a really weird consistency and did not have any bite to them. We know how good it is supposed to be which is why we're being so hard on them. My entire party thought the same and my guest that was trying it for the first time was really let down. It took a while for someone to come by again so I just got up and went to the counter and asked to pay. It's cash only which is another inconvenience. All in all, we'll stick to the downtown location and will try to erase this bad memory. read more

This is absolutely the best place for Northern Style pho in Seattle and more affordable than other places! This place is a definite hole-in-wall place with graffiti on the wall and the building itself isn't exactly in the best shape but don't let that deter you. The restaurant is entirely ran by elderly Vietnamese women who are extremely nice and efficient! They were able to accommodate my minor customization and requests that most pho places don't offend do anymore. I was able to get my rare steak slices on the side since I don't like it when it gets overcooked in the soup. I also able to request a side of slice onions soaked in vinegar which I inhaled with my pho instantly! The broth comes out piping out and has that sweet aroma that is unique to the Northern style that you can taste immediately. We also tried one of their rice dishes which did not disappoint and came in a generous portion, enough for 2 meals if you don't eat a lot like me. This place is CASH ONLY and the nice thing is that the price includes tax as well. So what you see is what you pay which is great and peace of mind! If you forget to bring cash there's a small ATM inside the restaurant. read more

Broth was tasteless and I only got 3 slices of meat and 1 meatball sliced into 1/4. Will not patronize again.

Came in to order take out because nobody was answering the phone. Waited 10 minutes before someone could help us at the "to go" table. Then after we ordered he told us the wait would be 25 minutes for take out. Sadly I was already hangry at this point and just wanted to eat.. Likely due to staff shortages, so don't expect to be in a rush here. read more

Hello yummy pho, you made my day when Seattle decides to be rainy again. Located in the South End of Seattle (near Franklin High School area and near a plaza of businesses), you really can't missed this tagged out/graffiti art building that spells out "Pho Bac." Don't be fooled by the exterior because once you stepped inside, it's a large spacious restaurant that's cutely decorated. While it isn't the most modern vibe, this homey joint has some of the best phooooo around! If you like everything (all the meats + etc) or want to be adventurous, shoot for a Pho Dac Biet. This combo pho has everything from tripe to steak to meatballs etc. If you opt for something more familiar (especially first timers), I would suggest going for a chicken pho. For the chicken pho, you actually get nice chunky pieces of the chicken and not just shredded up bits. For the pho broth, this was on point. I found myself barely reaching for the hoison / siracha sauce since my bowl of pho was tastyyyy. For a small, portion was quite filling. Veggies on the side were fresh and water was served in cute cups. The only downer I had with this place was..........if you come too late, a lot of things run out (a.k.a 4pm ish on a Sunday afternoon for my family and me). We were told that the place was out of eggrolls (which I heard was pretty bombtastic and yummy), various drinks (except water and soda), desserts......Sigh. At least pho was abundant, so all went well. Highly recommend this place for pho! :D I'll definitely swing back in the future to try out the things I missed out on and to munch on more pho. read more

I typically only eat here with my parents. Its also not in the best neighborhood and the restaurant is pretty grungy, but I can ignore that because the pho dac biet here is delicious. The broth taste great. Its so good you don't need plum sauce or sriracha. The price is on par with most other pho restaurants. Don't forget cash only, but they do have an atm machine inside next to the front door. read more

From the outside this place can look a bit scary on Rainier. The wait to get food here is a bit too long. There was only 3 staff, the cook, the cleaner, and the everything else person. The perpetual rock of Vietnamese food in the community! They've been here forever. There's bars on the windows. And nothing about the structure says that this is a restaurant. Despite all of the faults it is the best soup you will get on this side of the Pacific. The friendly staff greet you and seat you. They will gladly show off their massive pots of boiling meat if you're curious about them. And then serve you. The soup is the best. It's unbelievable how all other Pho falls away when you eat at Pho Bac. The chow mein may be a whimpy choice but it's also incredible. I can't imagine anything is bad. This is where you want to eat. But remember...cash only. read more

My heart breaks to do this. But we have been regulars (at least once a week) at the rainier pho bac. Used to absolutely love the chicken pho and the spicy stir fried noodles with veggies and chicken. They recently renovated the place and looks like they had a menu change and what feels like a recipe change as well. We went back today to try the food and to my disappointment the old heart warming flavors are no more.. and neither are those delicious noodles :(. This is heartbreaking. I think I found my new regular. This place gets packed during lunch, but thanks to the nature of huuuuuge soup pots you will get your food hot and fast! The "medium" size is very generous and I never had the feeling that I needed more food, even tho I WANTED more because it tases SO good! The broth is rich and hearty, you can taste the different ingredients and you don't have to add anything at all, it's mouthwatering on its own (thanks, now I'm getting hungry while writing this). The building itself could use an update for sure, but I love the handpainted murals all over the place and that it doesn't feel like a sterile room for strangers, more like a cafeteria for the neighborhood. Street parking is easy around the building, bus lines run down Rainier Ave. read more

I had been carving pho all week and tried a few different places. Let's just say none of them hit the spot, but this one. It's a hole in the wall type of place, that feels closer to a home cooked meal than dinning in a restaurant. I'll be honest, it doesn't look like the most up to date or modern place, but the food was good. The large bowl of Pho was was pretty good size for the amount of money. The rare beef slices were tender and the meatballs were good. The veggies were fresh and broth was (like I said above) the best I had in Seattle. Unfortunately they didn't have any Banh Mi, but the eggrolls and spring rolls came out quick and were good. I would and already have recommended this place to a few friends who've visited Seattle and looking for pho. read more
