The interior is clean and minimalistic. There's not much sound absorption in the restaurant, so it can be noisy. I like how they bring a container of water to the table, so you can pour and refill your own water. The pho was delicious. The broth was flavorful and meat was fresh and plentiful. by far this place before was my favorite place to eat . but today I came to order a small size small pho (babysize) due to my medical condition and stomach surgery I recently had I cannot eat a large portion . I was denied service by the waitress and I thought he was joking !! he said because I did not have a child with me and was not able to get a small portion I walk over to get a second opinion from the other worker and he said he was right that I couldn't get it . this is outrageous and Ridiculous what a disgrace of service on their part not to consider a person's disability or just because you want to eat a smaller portion . what a shame to loose customers for such a inconsiderate belief . please do not go here if you want to eat small they will deny you your Food . The quality of meat is also top tier. The Vietnamese meat balls and brisket are so flavorful on their own. This place also has some of the best egg rolls I've had. CASH ONLY I stopped by here after work to get my husband some pho since he is feeling under the weather . We heard that this place is the place to go for pho around this area . I ordered a pho Dac biet and chow mien noodles for my kids . Pho: i think it is a little pricey $14 dollars for the amount of pho noodles they give us . The pho today was a little salty . I am known as the person in the family that eats really salty, therefore if I think this pho was too salty for me than it must be really salty for people that do not eat a lot of salt on a regular basis. Chow mien: if you look at the picture ... that is definitely not chow mien. This is literally ramen noodle and therefore I was really disappointed to see that . I felt like I had pho from here before and do not remembered it being this salty so maybe they were having an off day today. PSA: it's CASH ONLY!!! I had one goal during my trip to Seattle, WA: find some worthy pho! I love Eugene but the Asian cuisine is sparse and you could say I've been severely deprived. I am so grateful to have visited Pho Bac -- a family owned and operated Vietnamese restaurant that I can assure you is LEGIT. The menu was extremely simple, as they only offer pho and vermicelli bowl options along with some traditional tea drinks. The ambiance reminded me of a meal for a special occasion at my grandma's house; there were generations of this family contributing to cooking and serving customers. The prices were very reasonable ($14-15 for a medium or large bowl of pho) and the service was very fast. I got the large #4 rare steak and brisket pho. I was impressed with the quality and quantity of the meat, and the noodles were cooked perfectly. The mint, lime, jalapeño, and bean sprouts were fresh and the broth was full of flavor. Though Pho Bac is located a bit off the beaten path, I can assure you it is worth a visit if you ever find yourself looking for authentic pho in Seattle. Our favorite pho place reopened 2 months ago after a major renovation! The food is still great with $15 and $16 bowls of hot and steamy deliciousness (medium at $15 still more than most can finish). The bathrooms are now clean and modernized with new tiles, polished concrete flooring and 3 private key-code secured stalls - 1 women and 2 gender neutral. Shared handwashing area. The dining area is bright and airy with new white walls, ceiling and ventilation and is filled with happy customers. They now take credit + debit cards and cash; no added fee for cash or debit. Lots of toddler and car-seat stools and booster seats were available. The entire premises is very wheelchair accessible. We're so happy to have our favorite pho place reopened! read more

Location recently reopened after long remodel. Remodel was worth the wait. Clean white open space. Matching furnishings, settings and decor are streamlined. Door entrance moved facing Rainier Avenue (old entry has nice greenery). Lowered counter space where staff takes orders & process pickups and payment. Bathrooms totally upgraded and have keycode entry for each stall- very secure setting. Credit cards accepted with 3% processing fee, no fee if cash/debit card (noted at top of menu). I've had the best pho here but i've also had the worst food poisoning here too. So on average, I rated it a solid "good" which equates to 4/5. The food poisoning was awhile back with the shrimp tumeric noodles and I know for sure it as from here because out of a large group, only those who got this noodle was infected. Brought back memories back to SE Asia when I literally could not leave the bathroom. Regardless, on other occasions when I mustered the courage to try this place again, I was not disappointed (and no stomach issues this time!). The broth was flavorful, meat melted right off the bone, and aromatics were so flavorful I was very happy. Many of my friends do enjoy this place and I can see why. Pho Bac hands down has the best pho in Seattle. I rarely ever crave pho, but when I do it's definitely gotta be from Pho Bac's. My mom's pho doesn't even exist to me. The restaurant is pretty run down and dirty with the service not being the best, but if you can get past that then you're in for one of the best bowls of pho you'll ever have in your life. The broth is the best. I can't even put into words how tasty it is. Just know that I never have to adjust the soup by adding any hoisin or fish sauce. The amount of protein they give is always more than enough. Getting the dac biet aka the special is definitely a no brainer. Everything here is relatively inexpensive and taxes are already included in the prices. Right off the top of my head- a small bowl of pho is $11 while a large is $12. Please note that this is a CASH ONLY establishment! Highly highly recommend coming here whether you're a tourist or a local. It's simply the best. read more

At first we thought we came to the wrong place. The restaurant looks shabby and a little scary I would say. However don't let that deter you. It is nice, decent, and spacious inside. The staff are very attentive and very soft spoken, very unusual for most Vietnamese restaurant or at least ones in California. The beef rib was a little dry but the meat fell off the bone. Though it was good but it was not my husband's favorite. What a disappointment...one of the worst pho I have ever had - broth was room temperature and yet the noodles were overcooked and mushy. The rare steak would not cook and came out gamy and rubbery. Would not pay $15 for the smallest bowl of Pho I have seen. Please do better if the only thing you have on the menu is Pho. This place is amazing. They have some of the best chicken! I've honestly never had anything better. The mango chicken I highly recommend oh my goodness. I also won a giveaway via Instagram and got free boba! I got the guava fruit tea with boba. It came with fresh diced strawberries, basil seeds delicious boba. Wow. I think I just found my new favorite pho place in Seattle!! I'm usually very picky about pho places because 1) the broth lacks flavor or 2) there is so much MSG in the broth it sends me to the bathroom mid-eating/right after eating. Pho Bac probably has the best pho broth I've had in Seattle and very well in a long time from any restaurant. The veggies are fresh and the meat is cooked to perfection - not overly done. The bowls come in two sizes- medium and large and the portions are very filling and have a great meat to noodle ratio. My favorite Pho place "pho 2000" in Boston taught me a lot about pho. I like the rare round eye on the side with onions and I cook it slightly in the soup. Their raw steak would taste of butter. It was the star of the show! Pho 2000's sign is a big neon Cow head and the sourcing of ingredients was definitely a priority. I realized today, after having mid pho (at a place that will not be named) that the good Pho places get more marbled round eye steak. When it doesn't taste like butter, I think its lean round eye. This is my hypothesis. I wonder if anyone has had the same thought? My experience at Pho Bac is that sometimes you get the juicy, buttery round eye. read more
