We stumbled upon this gem while visiting Brooklyn on a recent trip to NYC. It was everything we could have asked for and so much more. From the service to the flavor to the VIBE, it did not disappoint one bit!! I had the Brownstone Punch to drink and loved every sip. For my entree, I had The Best Chicken Sandwich Anywhere. It was hands down my favorite chicken sandwich I have ever had, and I eat a lot of chicken!! They took care of us from start to finish with a smile on their faces. I am huge on customer service and they were absolutely top notch. Did I mention the broccoli? My very first time every trying spicy grilled broccoli and I have fallen in love with it. Broccoli is already one of my favorite veggies, but they took it and elevated it!! It's a must try! I cannot wait to visit again. This place is on my list of places to visit whenever I'm in the city!! read more

You might miss this place on the street if you're not looking for it. Hot, fresh, and flavorful. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich and was suspicious of the two "slaws" on it but weirdly enough they worked and the sandwich was a really good size. There was a dairy based slaw that was sweeter and a vinegar based slaw. They complimented the chicken quite well. The fry on the chicken was crisp and the chicken remained juicy. The sweet potato fries were burn your mouth hot, just the way I like them. The restaurant itself was quaint and clean. I have nothing bad to say about this place. read more

My friends and I came here after the OG Peaches was closed for an hour but we thought the food was going to be just as good. Unfortunately, it wasn't. The server looked like she didn't even want to be there and got annoyed when we needed more time. When the food did come out, it looked delicious but everything was soo bland. The fried chicken was poorly seasoned, the chicken sandwich was more breading than chicken, with me biting into fried breading more than chicken, and the collard greens were average. The Mac and cheese was super gooey, but again, aesthetic for no reason because it lacked insane seasoning and tasted like box Mac and cheese with max 2 different types of cheeses. The establishment was small, and it felt like the AC wasn't working on such a hot summer day. It was uncomfortable in there to eat. I was disappointed deeply, and I would stick to the original Peaches because this spot was a no for almost all the things we ordered. read more

i slept on this spot for far too long. overall, i really loved my time here. my only complaint was the chicken skin didnt stay on the chicken & i got the hot, but feel it wasnt spicy enough. next time id get the very hot. however, the chicken was incredibly juicy & had great flavor. side of mac is where its at. its very sharable. incredibly cheesy and hits the spot. the salad was such a nice surprise. dark greens, pickled onions and their dressing was perfect. cornbread was moist. bread pudding was good, but needs more sauce. service was good & friendly. place can get packed quick - we came on a sat night around 6. parking can be tough it seems. AMAZING MUSIC PLAYING (they had 90s hip hop r&b blasting, and it was so much fun). read more

When that Stimmy hit, what better way to spend it than to support local businesses? I devoured the fried chicken before even remembering to take a picture. Oops, sorry my fellow Yelpers! I took my food to go and couldn't even wait to eat. The food is great! I enjoyed it so much, however since I'm sensitive to spice I was disappointed with the collard greens. It was extremely spicy, like so spicy I couldn't eat it. I can eat spicy foods but the heat level has to be mild to moderate. These greens were extreme spice but flavorful therefore I couldn't get the most out of it. I definitely enjoyed the macaroni and cheese and friend chicken and chocolate Bundt cake. I'd love to revisit again and try other menu items just nothing spicy. read more

We ordered the BBQ'ed shrimp, catfish and fried chicken. The catfish was the only item worth it. The chicken was unseasoned and overcooked. C'mon Peaches. You had one job to do. The sides were super generic. The cornbread was as dry as chalk. Mac n cheese and greens were - meh. On the upside, the service team was efficient and nice. read more

everything went well. the food, and the service was great. the atmosphere and music was soothing.

This is a neat little spot. I had the fry chicken with mac n cheese. My mom had the hot honey chicken sandwich with a side of salad. I was rooting for the chicken but it didn't do anything for me. I had dark meat that wasn't really seasoned, and was fatty. The mac n cheese was pretty good. The chicken sandwich was a chunk of under seasoned chicken in buns. My mom loved the salad though. I ordered their rum punch which I enjoyed. The service was fine. No complaints there. I do see myself giving this spot another try... read more

I love the fried chicken sandwich. It's my go to. This restaurant's become a neighborhood staple.

Wanted some southern food and this really hit the spot. The highlights were the grits and catfish. I haven't had many grits, but this was probably the best one I've had so far. Not too cheesy, nice and smooth. They gave a big portion of catfish. Very well breaded and not dry. The sauce was delicious with it. The corn bread was a bit dry, nothing special. The chicken wasn't dry and not too crispy. There was nothing that wowed me about the French toast. read more

One of the best chicken sandwiches I've had in NYC and they named it right. The chicken was juicy and tender, with a crispy coating that had a nice kick of spice. The sandwich came with cole slaw and purple cabbage that helped to balance out the heat. The bun was soft and buttery, and held everything together well. The portion size was generous and satisfying, and I also got a side of the mac 'n' cheese that was cheesey and delicious. The service was friendly and attentive, and the restaurant had a cozy and casual vibe. I would definitely recommend going out to bed stuy for Peaches! read more

This spot is so cute - it's a homey vibe and the employees are nice. The food was good - the difference between the hot and extra hot is huge, I would recommend asking for the extra hot dry rub on the side so you could try it, if you're interested. I found the shrimp to be tastier than the chicken. The cornbread was okay - a little overcooked for my taste. We didn't try the Mac and cheese or French fries but would definitely come back and get the shrimp. read more

We're finally back outside and of course we're finally able to brunch. Today we made our way to this establishment, mistaking it for the other Peaches... don't mirror my mistake folks. This place failed! Upon entering we weren't greeted until I walked all the way to the register and asked for a table. We were offered the option of inside or outside, with the sun being our friend we chose to sit outside. We were the first ones in our section which led to the assumption that there won't be much competition for the servers attention... we were dead wrong. We were brought water, menus, and given some time to peruse. Finally we were ready to order and we noticed other patrons joining our section. No worries right, we sat first so it makes logical sense that we'd be served first right. Wrong! We ordered the Kale Salad, Fried Green Tomatoes, and the Hopkins to start. Having an appetite for brunch we decided to order entrees as well... why make the sever come back twice right. Oddly our waitress struggled to take our order and we had to repeat it several times. As our sections population grew we noticed that tables that were occupied after us had received their drinks (the same one I ordered) and appetizers (same as ours) before us. Moments later our appetizers arrived but still no drink... like I mentioned before other tables in the same section had theirs. At this point we'd finished our appetizers and had to go back inside to ask about our drink, no explanation, no apology, just "we'll handle it". Finally the drink arrived but by this point it's been over 15mins since we finished our appetizers and nobody came to take our dishes... we had to flag someone down to handle this. Beyond frustrated, after seeing the same entrees we ordered be served at other tables in our section... remember I said we were seated first. We asked for the manager and we're told one wasn't available. We asked about the delay and we're told "we'll handle it". Shortly after the "lead server" came to our table and apologized, noting that all the other staff members are new. He added that the entrees would be out in about 10mins... we asked for the check instead. Not wanting to wait any further, I followed him inside and paid my bill at the very register I encountered this lazy staff. Sidebar, the Fried Green Tomatoes were breaded but flavorless. It was as though it was simply breaded and fried.... No seasoning was present. Note: the table that received their order before us, which contained similar items we ordered, who's occupants were seated AFTER us were all white. Do with that info as you please. My wife and I Came here to grab a quick bite since we were craving some good soul food. It was pretty quiet the day we came so we didn't have to wait to be seated, The waiter that greeted us was very friendly and attentive and made sure we had everything we needed to make our first time experience a memorable one. My wife ordered the crispy fried chicken with hot honey, I had the fried cat fish. Both come with fries and cornbread but I was able to substitute the fries for collard greens. The catfish I had was probably the best seasoned and crispy catfish I've ever had and my wife said the same for her chicken. The collard greens was also delicious. We also decided to share a side of Mac and cheese that was cheesy and tasty. I would recommend this spot to anyone craving some delicious and authentic soul food from a black owned establishment. I'm glad to see Peaches Hothouse is around during the pandemic. I ate here recently and sat inside one of the new enclosed outdoor seating houses. The plus - it keeps you out of the elements. It was super windy and cold when I dined here for breakfast. The wind was loud but was slamming into while eating. The minus. It's not particularly warm so you have to be bundled up and its seating for two. Larger parties have to face the elements. But it's still a pandemic, food was good, lunch service mid week was great. read more

My fiancé got the shrimp po'boy, I had some fried chicken and my friend had the lemon chicken. We shared two things of Mac& cheese. I wish I took photos but we were too busy enjoying the food - it was absolutely amazing! Everything my party had was delicious. Even the lemon chicken was amazing, I was very surprised! My friend got the spiked peach tea and it tasted good, seemed to be their most popular drink. The server was very kind which is rare in New York! Perfect spot to bring your family or friends for a celebratory meal. I will say though that this location is a bit tight, and we weren't able to use the high chair for my 5mo son. He's still small enough to comfortably hold in lap so it was ok, though we had to prevent him from swiping our food off our plates! read more

- This place is right around the corner from my Air Bnb and it is always packed! This southern restaurant has indoor and out door seating and is very quick to get food out to you. The chicken is stupid good. I tried the chicken sandwich and the spicy level was perfect and the chicken was incredibly juicy. I would not go here if you aren't very hungry because the portions are big and you need to be rolled out if you finish your plate. The margarita is also delish. The taste is fresh and very obviously not from a mix. read more

I've been going to peaches hothouse for quite some time now and I am always blown away by the delicious food and friendly service. My boyfriend, his family and I ordered the granola crusted French toast with berries, eggs, fried chicken, mac and cheese with barbeque wings, and a cheeseburger with fries. Everything was sooo delicious!! The granola crusted French toast was a standout - the granola added a nice crunch to the soft, fluffy toast and the berries added a burst of sweetness. The fried chicken and mac and cheese were both perfectly creamy and flavorful, and the barbeque wings had just the right amount of spice. The cheeseburger and fries were also delicious the burger was juicy and the fries were crispy and well seasoned. The service at Peaches Hothouse was also excellent. Our server was attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere was laid back and comfortable. Overall, I always have a fantastic experience at Peaches Hothouse and would highly recommend it to anyone in the area looking for an amazing brunch with a cozy atmosphere! read more

Peaches peaches PEACHES! I heard about Peaches HotHouse for years and never tried them. I went on a brunch date today and decided to give them a try. The ambience is very casual. There's indoor and outdoor seating, benches, wooden tables with a close intimate setting. The music is great mix of hip hop, r&b etc. Service was good. Chill and laid back but sufficient and courteous. They were packed for brunch, we arrived 2:30 pm on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. All outdoor seating was taken, but I'm not the hugest fan of outdoor seating anyway. There was two 2 tops left inside,we were seated right away. Despite the blistering heat, the inside was comfortably cool. They give you a glass, old milk jug type container full of tap water for the table. I really wanted chicken and waffles but the French toast got so many rave reviews. I decided to give it a try with chicken. Hands down the BEST French toast I ever had. I'm not a big fan of French toast in general. They mostly taste like soggy cinnamon bread maybe some vanilla with a hint of nutmeg if the place is being fancy. Peaches coats there French toast in granola and it's adds such a nutty, crunchy complexity. It wasn't too sweet and didn't really need any syrup but adding some was delicious as well. I asked for white meat and they gave me the juiciest fried chicken breast. I mean the skin was crispy and spicy as I requested hot. The hot was great bite , flavorful heat that lingered for a few and dissipated. The meat itself could've used just a smidge more salt in my opinion. But that didn't take away from it by any means. The French toast came with peaches that tasted like peach cobbler filling. I was happy it was ok the side. My date ate it. Though the flavor was good. I'm not a fan of canned peaches, he loved it. My date got the creole shrimp and grits. I had to try of course. It was exquisite. Creamy lump free grits, succulent shrimp with a mild savory tomato broth. The scallion garnish added a nice crunchy oniony taste. We ended up splitting each others dishes. We also got a side of cornbread. In my family I make the best cornbread. Every time I get cornbread at restaurants it's dry, bland or hard. This was again the best cornbread I've had at a restaurant and the taste and texture is very similar to the one I make. They served it with salted butter which was the chefs kiss. It was moist, slightly sweet like I like it and scrumptious. You get 3 great sized pieces for $3. The drinks were cool but meh in comparison to the food. He got cranberry juice, which was standard and honestly the biggest cranberry juice, 16oz mason jar. They did put ice in it, which isn't the norm. The Bellini was tasty. They serve it in a white wine glass and it comes with orange juice and peach schnapps. The color was dark so it was a good portion of juice but it paired very well with the food and I love peach schnapps. Lightning Hopkins was okay. It's bourbon, lemonade, ginger, mint and blueberries. It needed more bourbon, while the taste was fine I thought I was drinking juice. I didn't see or hear any mixing going on, which led me to believe they make a blubbery lemonade of some kind and just pour in the booze. The brownstone punch was delicious. Definitely reminds you of a non Caribbean version of rum punch. It needed wrey and nephew in it to cut through the sweetness. I had 3 cocktails and not even a buzz. So the liquor is minimal. Also they don't use the names of the spirits used, letting me know all the liquor used must be house. We ate everything. I mean EVERYTHING! The only thing left on the plate was chicken bones and crumbs. This was honestly the best meal I've had in awhile. The portions were huge and I was full the remainder of the day. The prices were excellent for the taste and size. I will definitely be back. read more

The food was very good, and so was the environment. They lose a star because the waitress that took care of us needs to make sure she can add money up accurately. She thought we under paid when in fact we gave her a huge tip. Subsequently, we were called back to the restaurant where we were told we underpaid. She counted the money again and saw her error. It was a tad embarrassing for us to be called back in. Our bill was close to $500 and I guess the adding got the best of her. read more

I'd been here a few times in my 20s but it has been awhile (7 or 8 years!) since I'd visited so I was excited to stop by for lunch after a day at the Brooklyn Children's museum with my bestie and her two toddlers the day after Thanksgiving. The place was a lot smaller than I remember and they were nice enough to move some things around so we could squeeze in with two high chairs. (My friend did need to leave her stroller outside, so something to consider if you're coming with kids.) Once we were seated, my friend's kids were in rare form and QUITE loud but the staff was super nice about it and nobody batted an eye about the regular screeches. I ordered the chicken sandwich, hot, and subbed Mac and cheese for the side salad (for $2 extra) and a glass of wine. The sandwich was good, but the coleslaw had wayyyyyy too much Mayo which ruined it a little bit for me. The Mac and cheese was awesome. My friend had the fried chicken with a side of broccoli, which was definitely the better order. She also had one of their punches which she said was incredible. Next time I'm going that route and upping the spice to "extra hot," because hot was pretty mild for me. Looking forward to coming back more regularly, without kids in tow! read more

Was in Brooklyn last week and I'm always looking for fried chicken joints. I noticed peaches was close by amd had to try it. Close to the Barclays center in Brooklyn parking is always tough but I got lucky and found a spot. Walked into Peaches and it's very simple tables chairs and the only sell wine. I sat down without looking at the menu I told my waitress I'll have the fried chicken. I asked for all dark meat and that wasn't a problem. The waitress was very nice and brought a pitcher of water for the table. The chicken came out and it looks delicious and crispy. 3 pieces, two legs and 1 thigh. With a nice side of arugula salad dressed with a vinegarette. The chicken was crispy and juicy but the chicken itself laced a little flavor. But I did use the hot sauce that can on the side and that's what the chicken needed. A little squirt goes a long way. The chicken was a little pricey as well $17 for 3 pieces is a stretch. It was good but wouldn't go out of my way to go here again. read more

Saturday evening at about 7pm with a party of 4 we did not have a wait. Seated promptly and the service throughout was nice and attentive. The food however was a let down. The breast on my chicken plate was dry (not brined?) and bland as was the cornbread. The worst part also is that I was provided a wing as well one I asked for a mixed plate. Word to the wise: wing is white meat, not dark. Best part was the sweet potato fries. My friend's mac and cheese was gritty, as if the roux has not been whisked enough. This is an example of why people like Anthony Bourdain enjoys places like Popeyes as they are consistently good when compared to hyped up places due to mass media coverage. read more
