We were a party of 9 and from the moment we got there, the service was outstanding! I wish I got our waiters name but him along with the runners, and other staff were very accommodating. Now for the food, amazing! We order the bruschetta and fried calamari for appetizers, and both were packed with flavor and hit the spot! I personally order their chicken fettuccine with their homemade sauce and I wanted to eat the entire plate in one sitting it was so good, but I had to restrain myself! The flavor of the sauce was amazing and the pasta was cooked to perfection-kudos to the chefs! The rest of my family loved their plates and we all agreed that Roman Cucina will now be one of our places for birthday get togethers! It's a bit dark, but the ambience is romantic but at the same time laid back and not noisy at all. Located at the center of downtown Fullerton there's a lot of people and places to eat you would think it would be a lot noisier, but this place is amazing! If you are looking for a romantic place to sit back have some amazing food, memorable service and a great time....check it Roman Cucina and when you do, you're welcome!

But this time alot of the bottom of the pizza was burnt on the bottom and owner said it's normal. Burnt bread doesnt taste good imo. Good thing it was just half of both pizzas and good thing our initial 1st pcs were ok, except for my mom who i saw later was tearing the bottom off bc she can taste the bitter burnt part. Then ofc she got another slice and it was just too much for her to tear off. So I'm not the type to just not say anything bc I come from restaurant/food and I would ofc let them know. But I think the owner doesn't take feedback positively. Burnt is burnt... it didn't look sooooo terrible but it tasted very bitter. But that's ok... sometimes Ego gets us. Then I told my sis and she said "didn't that happen last time"... so then I must make this review so I remind myself not to go back and waste my time, meal and money. Took the leftovers to pick the toppings off and have with crostini at home. Also didn't get any refills on our soda and my mom was annoyed about that. Guess she wanted another sip and she's bitter after all the bitterness she had for dinner. Haha

We walked in after doing a little book shopping, without a reservations. Luckily there were still tables available and we were seated in a little nook of the restaurant that was cozy and intimate. Cocktails started our evening. Husband chose the dirty martini and for me, Last Word - Botanist Gin, green Chartreuse, lime juice, and marashino garnish, up. Reminisced old memories of our trip to NYC about a decade ago while sipping our drinks. This is my definition of good times. The soup of the day was amazing. Some ground pork makes the broth and loaded with greens, onions, celery made for a great starter. Also the house salad with Italian dressing and blue cheese hit the spot. For our meal we decided on the special - Whole branzino over a bed of arugula. This is for those on a healthy no carb diet. Bring your reading glasses, to aid in fish bone removal. The shrimp scampi was classic. Topped on a bed of linguine, these gorgeous scampied shrimp was fresh as can be. We did not stop here. Be sure to save room for dessert. The coconut cake is not to be missed. The cake was so moist, the frosting was light and the coconut, amazing. Paired with decaf coffee was a great idea. Service was super friendly and quick. We were impressed and will be returning really soon! So glad we finally made it here. Buon appetito!

The Alfredo could have been a bit creamier & little more flavor. Partners pasta was great and not too peppery just right wish it was more creamy but again just my preference. The steak was cooked perfectly. Arnold palmers were refreshing and not overly sweet. Over all rating of food : 8.5 Service 1000/10 We look forward to coming back to try more. Pricing was good as well for the quantity and service you are getting.

Everything tasted like it came straight from your grandmother's kitchen in the old country. The cheese pizza is hands down the best I've had in SoCal. The salty white clam pizza was incredible, rich, perfectly salted, and packed with flavor without being overpowering or overdone. Every bite was on point. The baked ziti tasted like a legit family recipe. Deep, comforting flavors and seriously nostalgic. You can tell there's history behind the food here. This instantly became one of our favorite spots. I guess what I'm trying to say is that you aren't missing anything by not trying this place. We ate it but felt nothing afterwards. If you want good Italian food with unique recipes, look elsewhere. Otherwise, you get what you get here. Just generic Italian food, nothing special. The cook/chef guy looked like he knew what he was doing but I really wanted to try something that he would cook. It felt like he was forced to cook exactly how the owners want it. Generic bland Italian food. Overall if you and your loved ones are craving Italian, I'd look elsewhere. Date of visit: Sep 8, 2026…read more What a disappointing birthday dinner. I came here with high hopes of finding one of those hidden-gem, hole-in-the-wall Italian places, but unfortunately, it all ended up blowing up in my face. The biggest problem was simple: everything--from the soup to the main dishes--was way too salty. We were a party of six, and three of us ordered pasta with the garlic cream sauce: the Pescatore, Shrimp & Scallop, and Clam. The sauce wasn't thickened enough, so it was much too soupy for a pasta dish, and the taste of white wine was very prominent. The garlic cream sauce was salty too, although nowhere near as crazy salty as the Chicken Piccata, Tortellini Giovanni, and Minestrone. Chicken Piccata: Like everything else we tried, this dish was just way too salty. The lemon-butter sauce was completely overwhelmed by the capers, and eating it honestly felt like shoveling forkfuls of salt into my mouth. The only saving grace was the chicken itself, which was cooked well and had a nice golden-brown exterior. Tortellini Giovanni: Just okay. I've definitely had better. The cheese filling inside the tortellini wasn't particularly good, although the Italian sausage was pretty tasty. The more I ate, though, the saltier, heavier, and oilier the dish seemed to get. Overall, there was really nothing special about it. Minestrone: SO salty that I couldn't even finish it. I'm not sure if this is simply their recipe or if the soup had been refrigerated and reheated to the point where some of the water had evaporated, leaving the salt increasingly concentrated. It's too bad because the underlying flavor was actually there--it was just completely ruined by the amount of salt. Pizza: Just okay. The dough wasn't bad, and I actually liked that it had some chewiness to it. But for the price, I'd rather go somewhere else. I really wanted to love this place, especially since this was my birthday dinner. I wasn't expecting fancy or perfect--I was hoping for a charming little hole-in-the-wall with really good, comforting Italian food. Unfortunately, we left super disappointed.
