    AVOCADO BACON MELT
    Michelle S.

I stopped in at The Melt after shopping. It's in the newly rebuilt area across from Nordstrom and Pottery Barn. I had the Avocado BaconMelt. It was fantastic. First off, my order was piping hot! The sandwich had perfectly salted bread that is crispy on the outside, but folds to perfection with each bite. Heads up, the avocado bacon melt has thinly sliced jalapeños with seeds inside it- so if you like a nice kick to your grilled cheese, this is for you! They have a bunch of other menu items including burgers and sweet potato fries. I also tried the strawberry lemonade. Yum! Atmosphere is casual, you receive a pager when you order in and then pick up at the counter. There a small patio out front for outdoor seating but you can also take your order to the little grassy area if you have kids or want to enjoy more open space. One other really nice thing, I think it might have been shift change when I was there because I overheard either the supervisor or manager give the staff a little pep talk about goals for the shift and it was really heartwarming to hear him be so kind to his staff.

First time. Just ordered from a kiosk. Haven't tasted any food yet so I don't know. Will need to update later: It's later, but not much later as the food came almost instantly. I ordered the Original Melt Burger. Seriously this was the juiciest burger I've had anywhere in the area. If you like dry shriveled up burgers that won't drip juice down your arm then do not come here. If you do come make sure you get plenty of napkins before sitting down. Got a side of Garlic Parmesan Fries to go with the burger, also excellent with fresh garlic and freshly grated parmesan. The soda fountain only serves Alameda craft sodas but you can get standard sodas in cans as well. Very friendly staff who brought our food and free cookie samples which was nice. The only reason it's not a 5 star review is our table rocked like a boat in a storm. Someone please adjust the legs of your tables. Until next time...

Located inside the Brea Mall near the Rivian and Din Tai Fung. The location was clean and spacious with lots of seating. The servers were friendly and provided me their favorites and recommendations. You can also order on a kiosk. Two restrooms available. Mac and cheese - gooey and flavorful sandwich - fresh, filling strawberry lemonade - refreshing, uses real strawberry

Very good experience and quality for a new opening. The Melt is located outside of the mall in the new outdoor side (across from the eventual Lifetime). I parked at the Nordstrom structured and walked over. There was even indoor and outdoor seating which is a super nice option to have. Ordered: Swiss & shroom burger, steak and cheese sandwich, garlic Parmesan fries and sweet potato fries. Price 4/5. You're not spending an arm and leg for restaurant pricing and it's only slightly more than fast food pricing these days. Quality 4/5. The burger was pretty delicious. It didn't feel tooo heavy (even though it probably was). The sandwich could have been better without the extra cheese sauce but I could see people preferring an extra cheesy sandwich. Would just prefer extra real cheese in this case. I really enjoyed the sweet potato fries. It was airy and not too bland. Perfect compliment to a big meal. The cheesy Parmesan fries was tasty but a bit overkill with the other items. Maybe a good sharing option though. Oh. Lemonade was.. ok. Not sure if it's real lemonade or not. Super sweet but had to go for the full experience for a first timer. Overall I would come back again if I was craving a decent burger and fries meal.

The sandwiches here are made to order and the portions are huge! I was able to share this meal between me and my wife and we both were very full. The fries were surprisingly so yummy, I'd say the fries itself could have been a meal! The food came out very quick and the interior had a very nice vibe and was super clean. Overall we had a great time!

The Melt at Brea Mall is a great spot for a casual meal with plenty of seating both inside and out. They have a varied menu with lots of options and substitution options such as grilled chicken we tried a burgers, grills chicken burger, sweet potato fries, and garlic Parmesan fries, all of which were very good. We also loved the specialty craft sodas, which added a fun touch to the meal. Overall, it was a satisfying and tasty stop, and we're glad we decided to check it out.

Double Meltburger, protein style and split in two, with fries and a pickle
    Patrick ..

The Bottom Line Up Front: The Melt offers excellent hamburgers...at painfully high prices. The Food: I had the Double Meltburger, fries, and a fountain drink. I ordered the burger protein style (unless) and it was delicious. The patty was juicy and slightly pink, which was great since I like it medium rare -- most burger joints serve up well-done patties as a health precaution but they end up dry. The cheese was warm and gooey. The lettuce was crisp and clean. Meanwhile, the fries were outstanding. Crisp on the outside and warm on the inside. Seasoning was tasty without being overpowering. For the fountain drink, the Melt offers craft soda from a self-service dispenser, so I chose to combine the black cherry soda with the cola, creating my own cherry Coke. It was great! The only food-related complaint? The ketchup was runny. Like, tomato juice. There was almost no viscosity to it, resulting in a weird flavor that I chose to pass on after dipping the fries only a few times. The Service: The employees here may be young, but they were friendly, knowledgeable, and fast. Can't say enough good things about them. The Setting: Located in the new section of Brea Mall, the Melt is a freestanding building so you have to walk outside of the mall to access it from the southwest side. There's no street parking, so you'll need to park in the large parking structure across from Nordstrom (currently...but they are doing more construction so this could change in the future). Inside, it's clean, well organized, and has a rustic urban aesthetic with brick walls, warm lights, and minimalistic furniture. The Cost: This is my main complaint: the prices are crazy high for what is essentially a fast-casual restaurant. A burger, fries, and a drink -- you'll pay anywhere between $25 to $35. A hamburger dinner for two? $60! For what is basically fast food?!? The Conclusion: The Melt offers fantastic hamburgers at premium prices. It's also not the most convenient place to get to due to the parking situation. So, it's definitely a "special occasion" burger joint rather than a weekend favorite.

Great casual vibe at The Melt's newer location in Brea Mall. Ordering is easy with four self-service kiosks, or you can place your order with staff at the counter. There's plenty of seating both indoors and out on the patio. Double Meltburger ($15.79): Two chopped 1/3 lb beef patties, cheddar, jalapeño-pickle mix, and The Melt sauce on an artisan bun. The portion size is generous, but I'd skip the jalapeño-pickle mix next time (not a pickle fan) and go for just whole jalapeños instead. Takeout was packaged in a box, which made the bun soggy pretty quickly. Fries ($3.99): Thin-cut with The Melt seasoning. Slightly on the salty side, and like the burger, they didn't hold up well for takeout - soft and soggy fast in the paper bag. Steak & Cheese Sandwich ($12.49): Made with thinly sliced sirloin, provolone, grilled onions, red peppers, cheese sauce, and jalapeños. The cheese flavor was a bit too strong for my taste, so I probably wouldn't order it again, but the sandwich itself held together well. Strawberry Milkshake ($6.99): Must order! Made with real strawberries and vanilla ice cream, perfectly blended. I'd come back just for this. There are several designated takeout parking spots nearby, but even on a weekday they filled up quickly.

I was fortune enough to be able to try The Melt last week as part of a Yelp Elite event. I had an excellent dine-in experience then so I was excited to try them out again as a regular customer this time around. Here's what I ordered: **Original Meltburger: Added lettuce, tomato, and raw onion free of charge. It was a delicious burger so no complaints here. (5/5) **Spicy Crispy Sandwich: The chicken by itself was a little bland but everything else included enhanced the flavor. Their pickle-jalapeño mix and spicy melt sauce are absolutely delicious! I added lettuce and tomato free of charge and was a great choice. (4/5) **Steak & Cheese Sandwich: Delicious! There was a kick of spice from the jalapeños. The addition of red peppers and grilled onions were amazing. The overall sandwich was perfect but the meat was definitely on the saltier side. (4/5) **Sweet Potato Fries: Had a nice balance of salty and sweet. The portion for the fries were on the smaller side but overall, very good! (4/5 I had placed an order for pick-up via their online website for 1:30 PM on Monday (3/30/26). I arrived promptly at 1:30 PM and saw my name on the screen stating it was ready but nobody was at the front to greet me. There was a cook in the back fulfilling my order and another take-out customer's food which was fine. There was a crew member just hanging out in the back not acknowledging me or the people that had just entered behind me. I stood there awkwardly for a few minutes before the cook said he'd be right with us. That crew member lounging around in the back needs to be re-trained to greet customers as they enter the door especially for a new thriving business like this one. This is the only reason why this is a 4-star review instead of a 5-star review.

Ordered the Original Single Meltburger with side of Garlic Parmesan Fries. Staff were nice and inside was very clean. Lots of seating, two bathroom and outdoor protected patio seating. MELTBURGER was good, the meat quality was good and wasn't a smash burger. Might have needed salt and a little spicy for Mild. GARLIC PARMESAN FRIES were amazing and veryyyy good!! The garlic and Parmesan was great combination and salted well. MELTBURGER - 4/5 GARLIC PARMESAN FRIES - 5/5 WARNING!! Parking area very small, structure nearby but very small structure. Hard to move around structure and backing up you have to do 3-4 point turnarounds, kinda ridiculous how small.

first time trying the melt! I got a melt burger with no pickles and pickle/jalapeno mix and no melt sauce due to my allergies. I added lettuce, raw white onion, and raw jalapeños to my burger instead. The burger came out super juicy and tasted so good! However, I wish they had more sauce options as there was only mustard available. I ordered fries as well with no seasoning and it came out hot and delicious and crispy! They were the most perfect fries! My bf ordered a patty melt and it looked just as good even tho I did not try it. The workers were so helpful in checking to see if the melt sauce had tomato ingredients for me as well. I really appreciated them checking without getting annoyed! We also ordered a fountain drink which was craft soda so it tasted a lot better than Coke or Pepsi in my opinion. Hope to be back soon!

    CHOPPED COBB SALAD

Enjoyed a nice lunch here. There are four kiosks for customers to use to order their food. I highly recommend the melt burger, chicken cobb salad and patty melt. Pro: Friendly service, well staffed Good comfort food Wide variety on the menu including kids portions Nice ambiance, inside and outside seating Con: A little on the pricier side considering most items don't come with a side

    Italian Job
    Vanessa C.

Let me say, not the greatest photos, sorry. The food at The Melt is great. It was super tasty and my very picky kid loved the Egg In A Hole. She ate the whole thing. My Italian Job was very tasty but was a bit much for me so I only ate half. I was really good and I fully enjoyed it. They also have natural sodas which are nice cause you dont get all the artificial stuff from the major brands. The staff is really great. They walk around to ask how you are doing and also if your lucky, they will bring by freshly baked chocolate chip cookie bites to taste. So Yummy! The location is easy to get to. It is at the Brea Mall but on the outside so it is its own facility and not a food court.

The original melt burger single $ 10.79 w cheddar bacon ranch fries (requested Cheese on the side) $ 5.99 & 3 cheese classic melt 2.10.26

I honestly don't know how The Refinery inside the Hilton in Brea manages to stay open. This was easily one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. First off, the place looks nice when you walk in, but that's where the positives end. The service was painfully slow -- not the "busy restaurant" kind of slow, but the "did anyone remember we're here?" kind. We waited forever just to get water, and it somehow took even longer for the food. Then the food actually showed up... and wow. Bland, overpriced, and somehow still cold. It tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp since last week. To make things worse, the staff acted like helping customers was a huge inconvenience. No check-ins, no refills, no effort. Just vibes of "please eat and leave." Between the slow service, disappointing food, and ridiculous prices, this place feels like a tourist trap hiding in a hotel lobby. Save your money and eat literally anywhere else in Brea. Even a gas station snack run would be a better experience.
