    Clam pasta
    Huan N.

Came here last night with the family. First time back in 20 years or so. Ordered the clam spaghetti and the garlic mizithra. The clam spaghetti was super bland, with no taste of wine or garlic. The sauce itself has no flavor of clams, it tasted like chicken cream with nothing added. I had to add salt and parmesan to get any flavor in the sauce. The garlic mizithra on the other hand was really flavorful, but a tad on the salty side. The pasta cook was inconsistent between the two dishes. The clam spaghetti was overcooked and mushy, while tha garlic mizithra was slightly over al dente while still being enjoyable. The decor and ambience is the same as it was 20 years ago so that was nostalgic. Service was slow and forgetful. Restaurant was about 80% full so understandable but definitely could be better. Over all it wasnt a great experience, and with the much higher prices these days definitely not worth a visit. Maybe ill let 40 years pass before I go try it again.

The last of my birthday rewards left and it was going to expire soon, so tonight was a perfect night to go celebrate at our regular old spaghetti factory in Fullerton. We were matched up with an excellent server, Victor. We had reservations but they allowed us to be sat at the table while we wait for the rest to come. Victor was great by getting all our drink orders and some bread and butter as we waited. It was perfect timing as our drinks and bread came and shortly after, we were complete. The wait gave us time to chat with Victor and tell him the history of The Old Spaghetti Factory as I have been dining with OSF way before he was even born. He was surprised to learn how things used to be. The restaurant was not as busy for a Sunday. Maybe because of the World Cup game going on at the same time. We placed our orders and from salad to our pasta entrees, everything came out smoothly and prepared exactly how we wanted it. With the exact amount of sauces and not dry. With the right amount of salad dressing. He kept the bread flowing, our drinks constantly filled and he not only had our table of 7, he was taking care of another large party of at least 10 people. He managed both of them well. Our experience here at Fullerton is always on top compared to the Duarte location. What a great way to finish this year's birthday rewards with an experience that is worth writing about.

We came on a Saturday afternoon. There were several birthday parties and celebrations, so we couldn't hear the music. Service was excellent and friendly. I had minestrone soup, spaghetti with marinara and meat sauce. Sodas were refilled. Spumoni ice cream was very good, with lots of chocolate.

I haven't been to the Old Spaghetti Factory in probably 30 years. We were taking my girlfriends daughter to another Italian restaurant in downtown Fullerton for her birthday, but the wait was over an hour. We looked for another option, and were surprised that reservations here were wide open on a Saturday night, so we gave it a shot. Parking is hit or miss. There are a few good sized parking lots very close to the restaurant, but they shared by all of the restaurants in the nearby area. We checked in at our 6:45pm reservation time and were seated immediately. The restaurant was moderately busy. The main entree menu is on the placemat, and there is a small book on the table with a multi-page menu for drinks and appetizers. Our server greeted us, and said he'd be back shortly to take our order. We started out with the garlic cheese bread ($9.50). The gals just ordered soft drinks, and I ordered a glass of the Chianti Classico DOCG, Antinori, Peppoli ($10.75). The garlic cheese bread was really good, and came with a small bowl of marinara sauce. About five minutes later, our server brought us a loaf of their sourdough bread. We didn't know they had complimentary bread, or we probably would have skipped the appetizer. I love sourdough bread, and it was very good. They got their soft drinks fast, but fifteen minutes went by and I still didn't have my glass of wine. I flagged down our server and told him that I was still waiting for my wine, and it finally came a few minutes later. I took a few sips, and it wasn't very good. It tasted like a house wine, and rather than send it back, I just drank it. When the bill finally came at the end of the meal, it was indeed the house Chianti, and not the wine I ordered. Our salads arrived next. I just had a house salad with blue cheese dressing. The salad was ok, but the dressing was very bland. My girlfriend got a Caesar salad ($2.99 upgrade), and the lettuce didn't look very fresh and was slightly brown. Her daughter just had a house salad too, and once she started eating it, she discovered that there was a potato chip in her salad. I ate my salad, but they sent theirs back and didn't want a replacement. The manager took the Caesar salad upgrade off of the bill. I had the jumbo lobster & crab ravioli ($24.50) which were just ok. They tasted like they were frozen, not fresh. I know we are not at a high end restaurant, but I expected better for the most expensive item on the menu with such an appealing name. My girlfriend had the spinach & cheese ravioli ($20.99). Hers was also just ok, with the same lack of freshness. Her daughter had the fettuccini Alfredo ($20.75) and enjoyed her entrée. These two dishes arrived from the kitchen with some Parmesan cheese on top. If you want more cheese, the only option is a cheese shaker on the table like at a pizza joint. All of our dinners came with a choice of ice cream, and we all chose Spumoni, which was good. Sadly, the bread and ice cream were the best parts of the meal. Service started out ok, but gradually got slower even though a large party in an adjacent dining area left half way through our meal. Our server was friendly though. There are many better places to go for a good Italian meal, and we likely won't be returning.

Excellent Came for the classic specials for the month included soup or salad bread, your entree and icecream. The meal was more than enough food and was so classic.

I used to go to the Old Spaghetti Factory in Duarte monthly. It was always a treat to get their delicious pasta and spumoni dinner each time. And even when I started traveling with Toby, we still occasionally hit the Spag Fac in places like St. Louis and Seattle, each with their own regional specialties. So it was nice seeing that there are plenty around in Southern California aside from Duarte. The Meat Lover's Treat still hit like a truck full of flavor. The bread was still as filling as ever. And the ice cream was still a good capper to the evening--even as they got rid of the coffee that used to come with the meal too. I think the quibble I have is the price. The service was still super and the ambiance of rail cars and nostalgic photos will never go out of style. But the price is way more than I would pay for a similar. I remember when the same meal would be in the $12 to $13 range and not the $22 to $23 range. I know all restaurants have gone up, but because I've been coming to this food joint in one location or another since childhood so this price jacking feels egregious. The food still kicks ass, like I said. But when a restaurant makes me question is the meal worth it, you know the quality isn't high enough to erase the sting in the wallet. I'll probably come back to Spag Fac sometime--maybe not this location, but somewhere. However, now I know it'll be more out of nostalgia and sentiment than thoughts of what a great value it is.

    Spumoni to end the meal!

This chain of restaurants is a great place for group gatherings. The food is generally good and should please your average picky eater as everything is familiar. We recently visited the Fullerton outpost. Our last visit was a few years ago at the Duarte outpost. What I enjoy is that the food is quite consistent, restaurant to restaurant. I'm not sure if it was an off-night for the staff or that's the state of the service industry for chain restaurants. While our sever was friendly and checked with us as needed, there was a few mishaps with the delivery. We received an item we didn't order and one of the entrees was served much later than the rest. Also, I think they're suffering from shrinkflation - the appetizer portion sizes appeared smaller than before. We ordered appetizers: Calamari. Pretty good. We always get the calamari. Artichoke dip. It was ok but not how I remember it from the last time we visited. Garlic cheese bread. This was the item we didn't order. This was quite good and I think we'll order this instead of the artichoke dip the next time we visit. My true disappointment was the dish I ordered. I decided to try something new and ordered the Garlic Shrimp Fettuccini. This sounds like a dish that shouldn't disappoint but it did. The shrimp was overcooked and mushy. I couldn't eat it. The pasta was fine. We'll likely visit again in the future as it's a good place for group dinners with picky eaters. I'm not a picky eater but I'll not order the Garlic Shrimp Fettuccini again! Try it! The kids in your group will surely like this place! Enjoy!

First time.. I have been living in Fullerton for over 16 years and this was my first time! Didn't wait and I didn't have a reservation. Went on a Sunday around 12 pm. Food portions were small but their sauces were really good. Their sourdough bread was warm and so good! The ice cream was also delicious. Overall experience was great! Our server, Caressa was amazing! I would go there again!

Came here as a chaperone with a bunch of kids during my kids field trip to the train station. The kids enjoyed their spaghetti and salad. They were organized with getting the kids seated and plated. The decor also went along perfectly with the trains transportation theme, it made the kids think they were really on the trains. This is the first time I've been here since my college days. I remember the waiters would come out and sing happy birthday to you. So nostalgic. The food for me was pretty basic but I also ordered a basic item. Their menu is pretty varied which is nice for a family dinner or date night. Also, considering how much the kids loved the decor and spaghetti it's definitely worth a visit and revisit.

The Old Spaghetti Factory in Fullerton hits all the right notes for me, especially since I can be a sucker for chain restaurants when the mood is right. There is something comforting about knowing exactly what you are going to get no matter the location, and this spot delivers on that promise. I always enjoy the fun, quirky decor that feels a little over the top in a charming way, and it adds to the whole experience. The food is hearty and familiar, and honestly, nothing beats sitting down to a giant plate of pasta that does not pretend to be anything other than what it is. It is reliable, filling, and somehow always scratches the comfort food itch just right.

Tried The Old Spaghetti Factory for the first time. I expected it to be similar to Olive Garden, and in some ways it was. We sat at the bar (no wait!) and service was wonderful--friendly, prompt, and full of good recommendations. The free bread was a nice touch. We ordered the Chicken Parmesan and Spinach Ravioli--both decent, but not standout dishes. The location near the Fullerton train station is charming, especially for kids who love watching trains go by. Overall, a nice experience, but the food wouldn't make it my first choice next time

I don't come as often anymore after I started working remotely. Glad I was able to bring my daughter here. We were quickly seated right upon check in, which was awesome because when I came here a few months ago, I had to wait over 30 minutes on a week night. The hostess who checked me in was very friendly and welcoming. Our server was friendly and checked in on our table often. However, both my daughter and I were out of iced tea but she didn't offer to assist us with getting refills. Instead, she just asked me if I needed a box, so I was thinking most likely, she was in a hurry for us to leave - I honestly think we were there for about an hour. But, I wasn't too bothered by this. I just quickly paid the bill and went next door for dessert. My daughter and I ordered the following: Carpaccio - I love Carpaccio, but unfortunately what was served to me tonight was a HUGE disappointment. The beef came stuck together and the color was a weird shade of brown. It also smelled funny. I've ordered this dish multiple times before (I've even posted a picture of this from a previous visit) so I know it shouldn't look and smell this way. Rigatoni Alfredo 2.0 - (added Chicken) - This was very good. My daughter liked this a lot. She finished everything. Pappardelle Bruno - The braised short ribs were very tender. However, the pasta tasted pretty bland. Overall, my visit today was a 6/10.

I love that there's a thrift store in the same plaza to keep me company when there is a wait though. It's a cute spot for a nice date but can also be a casual dinner with friends! Our server was so energetic and attentive the entire time. For our appetizer we started with the cheesy bread. Omfg I'm not even exaggerating, I inhale it EVERY SINGLE TIME. Came to this spot for my wife's birthday dinner. I figured it should be pretty solid since it's owned by KEI (same company that owns Sup Noodle Bar). Overall, all the foods are pretty good, nothing stuck out as absolutely bad but I will say the pork tomahawk, seafood malfadine and mentaiko pizza were the most underwhelming, especially considering some of the hype behind some reviews. To be fair, I'm not a crazy seafood lover so take it with a grain of salt. My father in law loved the mentaiko pizza. The pork was cooked well and tender but the sweet potato puree just was not it for me. Good thing at least my kids liked it. Seafood malfadine was just honestly somewhat bland, especially when you have dishes like the spicy miso carbonara which was my favorite thing there by far. The burrata caprese appetizer was also a complete hit as everyone in my party loved it--my 5, 3, and 1 year old devoured it. Service is very attentive and they made sure to give a small chocolate birthday slice with candle as well to help us celebrate my wife so I appreciated that. Now granted we did order lemonade drinks and like 1 too many pastas (had gotten 3 seafood malfadine) but even if I conservatively subtract $100 that's still over $60/adult. So while the food is good, personally I would say it's not good enough at that price point. But nonetheless a good experience!
