Been here literally 35 years literally 4x a year...at the least. I'm a huge fan. But not tonight. We got seated waited 15 with no greeting. No water. No drink order..I got up to use the restroom and the women's restroom had 2 inches of smelly backed up sewage.. I was instructed by an employee to use the men's room. That had an inch of backed up sewage... the restaurant should have closed foe the night due to healrg ane to clean up but noooo...I went back to my seat and waited 25 more minutes while 15 people were seated...we ledt left I requested the manager on the way out who said they had a plumbing problem but he would take our ordet...gross and no 26 minutes wait and a bubblog ooze ridden system. Came here last night with the family. First time back in 20 years or so. Ordered the clam spaghetti and the garlic mizithra. The clam spaghetti was super bland, with no taste of wine or garlic. The sauce itself has no flavor of clams, it tasted like chicken cream with nothing added. I had to add salt and parmesan to get any flavor in the sauce. The garlic mizithra on the other hand was really flavorful, but a tad on the salty side. The pasta cook was inconsistent between the two dishes. The clam spaghetti was overcooked and mushy, while tha garlic mizithra was slightly over al dente while still being enjoyable. The decor and ambience is the same as it was 20 years ago so that was nostalgic. Service was slow and forgetful. Restaurant was about 80% full so understandable but definitely could be better. Over all it wasnt a great experience, and with the much higher prices these days definitely not worth a visit. Maybe ill let 40 years pass before I go try it again. read more

The last of my birthday rewards left and it was going to expire soon, so tonight was a perfect night to go celebrate at our regular old spaghetti factory in Fullerton. We were matched up with an excellent server, Victor. We had reservations but they allowed us to be sat at the table while we wait for the rest to come. Victor was great by getting all our drink orders and some bread and butter as we waited. It was perfect timing as our drinks and bread came and shortly after, we were complete. The wait gave us time to chat with Victor and tell him the history of The Old Spaghetti Factory as I have been dining with OSF way before he was even born. He was surprised to learn how things used to be. The restaurant was not as busy for a Sunday. Maybe because of the World Cup game going on at the same time. We placed our orders and from salad to our pasta entrees, everything came out smoothly and prepared exactly how we wanted it. With the exact amount of sauces and not dry. With the right amount of salad dressing. He kept the bread flowing, our drinks constantly filled and he not only had our table of 7, he was taking care of another large party of at least 10 people. He managed both of them well. Our experience here at Fullerton is always on top compared to the Duarte location. Parking is horrendous here as it shares a public lot with the Fullerton train station. Even handicapped spots are full. The best chance of finding parking is parking in the far back and walking towards the restaurant. It'll be crowded even on a random Wednesday night. It always takes a while to be seated, even with reservations. But the service we've gotten from our servers have always been good. We always go for the mizithra pasta here as it's the only Italian place we know that makes this dish. The garlic cheese bread & spumoni ice cream are also a MUST. You can't find spumoni ice cream anywhere else this good, at least in OC. Also, the creamy pesto dressing for the salad. So good. read more

Amazing service from Cooper!!! He is so kind, efficient, and has a wonderful attitude which can sometimes be hard as a server-I'm a server myself on the Vegas strip. Food was delicious and piping hot. Complimentary sourdough bread with butter-delish. Always gotta get the Mizithra when we go to California. I haven't been to the Old Spaghetti Factory in probably 30 years. We were taking my girlfriends daughter to another Italian restaurant in downtown Fullerton for her birthday, but the wait was over an hour. We looked for another option, and were surprised that reservations here were wide open on a Saturday night, so we gave it a shot. Parking is hit or miss. There are a few good sized parking lots very close to the restaurant, but they shared by all of the restaurants in the nearby area. We checked in at our 6:45pm reservation time and were seated immediately. The restaurant was moderately busy. The main entree menu is on the placemat, and there is a small book on the table with a multi-page menu for drinks and appetizers. Our server greeted us, and said he'd be back shortly to take our order. We started out with the garlic cheese bread ($9.50). The gals just ordered soft drinks, and I ordered a glass of the Chianti Classico DOCG, Antinori, Peppoli ($10.75). The garlic cheese bread was really good, and came with a small bowl of marinara sauce. About five minutes later, our server brought us a loaf of their sourdough bread. We didn't know they had complimentary bread, or we probably would have skipped the appetizer. I love sourdough bread, and it was very good. They got their soft drinks fast, but fifteen minutes went by and I still didn't have my glass of wine. I flagged down our server and told him that I was still waiting for my wine, and it finally came a few minutes later. I took a few sips, and it wasn't very good. It tasted like a house wine, and rather than send it back, I just drank it. When the bill finally came at the end of the meal, it was indeed the house Chianti, and not the wine I ordered. Our salads arrived next. I just had a house salad with blue cheese dressing. The salad was ok, but the dressing was very bland. My girlfriend got a Caesar salad ($2.99 upgrade), and the lettuce didn't look very fresh and was slightly brown. Her daughter just had a house salad too, and once she started eating it, she discovered that there was a potato chip in her salad. I ate my salad, but they sent theirs back and didn't want a replacement. The manager took the Caesar salad upgrade off of the bill. I had the jumbo lobster & crab ravioli ($24.50) which were just ok. They tasted like they were frozen, not fresh. I know we are not at a high end restaurant, but I expected better for the most expensive item on the menu with such an appealing name. My girlfriend had the spinach & cheese ravioli ($20.99). Hers was also just ok, with the same lack of freshness. Her daughter had the fettuccini Alfredo ($20.75) and enjoyed her entrée. These two dishes arrived from the kitchen with some Parmesan cheese on top. If you want more cheese, the only option is a cheese shaker on the table like at a pizza joint. All of our dinners came with a choice of ice cream, and we all chose Spumoni, which was good. Sadly, the bread and ice cream were the best parts of the meal. Service started out ok, but gradually got slower even though a large party in an adjacent dining area left half way through our meal. Our server was friendly though. There are many better places to go for a good Italian meal, and we likely won't be returning. read more

I used to go to the Old Spaghetti Factory in Duarte monthly. It was always a treat to get their delicious pasta and spumoni dinner each time. And even when I started traveling with Toby, we still occasionally hit the Spag Fac in places like St. Louis and Seattle, each with their own regional specialties. So it was nice seeing that there are plenty around in Southern California aside from Duarte. The Meat Lover's Treat still hit like a truck full of flavor. The bread was still as filling as ever. And the ice cream was still a good capper to the evening--even as they got rid of the coffee that used to come with the meal too. I think the quibble I have is the price. The service was still super and the ambiance of rail cars and nostalgic photos will never go out of style. But the price is way more than I would pay for a similar. I remember when the same meal would be in the $12 to $13 range and not the $22 to $23 range. I know all restaurants have gone up, but because I've been coming to this food joint in one location or another since childhood so this price jacking feels egregious. The food still kicks ass, like I said. But when a restaurant makes me question is the meal worth it, you know the quality isn't high enough to erase the sting in the wallet. I'll probably come back to Spag Fac sometime--maybe not this location, but somewhere. This chain of restaurants is a great place for group gatherings. The food is generally good and should please your average picky eater as everything is familiar. We recently visited the Fullerton outpost. Our last visit was a few years ago at the Duarte outpost. What I enjoy is that the food is quite consistent, restaurant to restaurant. I'm not sure if it was an off-night for the staff or that's the state of the service industry for chain restaurants. While our sever was friendly and checked with us as needed, there was a few mishaps with the delivery. We received an item we didn't order and one of the entrees was served much later than the rest. Also, I think they're suffering from shrinkflation - the appetizer portion sizes appeared smaller than before. We ordered appetizers: Calamari. Pretty good. We always get the calamari. Artichoke dip. It was ok but not how I remember it from the last time we visited. Garlic cheese bread. This was the item we didn't order. This was quite good and I think we'll order this instead of the artichoke dip the next time we visit. My true disappointment was the dish I ordered. I decided to try something new and ordered the Garlic Shrimp Fettuccini. This sounds like a dish that shouldn't disappoint but it did. The shrimp was overcooked and mushy. I couldn't eat it. The pasta was fine. We'll likely visit again in the future as it's a good place for group dinners with picky eaters. I'm not a picky eater but I'll not order the Garlic Shrimp Fettuccini again! Came here as a chaperone with a bunch of kids during my kids field trip to the train station. The kids enjoyed their spaghetti and salad. They were organized with getting the kids seated and plated. The decor also went along perfectly with the trains transportation theme, it made the kids think they were really on the trains. This is the first time I've been here since my college days. I've been coming to this Old Spaghetti Factory for a long time, 10+ years. It's the first and only one I've been to. I appreciate its cleanliness inside (tables, furniture, bathrooms) and easy parking (more people need to use the public parking structure that's literally a 1-2 minute walk). It's Thursday, and I was looking for a last minute reservation for lunch time, on MOTHER'S DAY. After calling literally 15+ establishments, I was so happy to snag a reservation here! Sunday arrives, and we are already running late. I called and spoke to the hostess, and nervously told them we'd be 15 minutes late. I was terrified the reservation would be forfeited. The hostess was very empathetic, told us to drive safe, and that our table will be ready when we arrive. This definitely helped with my stress. We arrive and after checking in we are seated immediately. Our waitress, Olivia, was absolutely amazing! She greeted us with a big smile and was incredibly attentive to our party. She took our drink order, shared the specials, and gave us time to decide on what we wanted. It's common at other restaurants that when you tell the waiter you are not ready, they do not return for a L-O-N-G time. Olivia did not do this. She continued to check on us and did not come off impatient. My mom, who's never been before and English is not her primary language, had a lot of questions from describing all the salad dressings to different fettuccine. Olivia happily answered everything and got our order underway. Our drinks were always refilled and she never forgot a request, whether it was dressing on the side, straws, or extra napkins & utensils. I wanted to sneakily pay the bill while my family was still enjoying their food, so I went inside. Another girl, Penny, noticed I needed assistance and helped me with my request immediately. Lastly, I really wanted to express how amazing everything went so I asked to speak with a manager. As someone who works in the service industry too, I know all too well that most of the time happily satisfied customers/guests/patrons are more likely to move on with their day while disappointed people are the ones to complain. Within a few minutes I met Ashley, one of the managers, and was able to share that this was probably one of the best Mother's Day outings we have ever had, all thanks to Old Spaghetti Factory. This remains one of my family's favorite restaurants. We dine here quite often, and spend many special occasions here. My husband and I enjoyed date nights at the bar top. All the staff is always friendly. The food is always amazing and I just love the interior of this place. Its elegant but afforable. I typically order the spinach ravioli, the half clam sauce half marinara spaghetti, or the chicken parmesan. My husband always gets the lasagna. My grandpa gets spaghetti and meatballs. You really cant go wrong here. Its also a great place for kids, as my 10 year old nephew really enjoys eating here. If you sign up for the app, there are many great perks including a birthday meal! The Old Spaghetti Factory is an old favorite from our days living in Southern California . I have nostalgic memories of visiting the location near Pasadena. This location in Fullerton is near Disneyland and is a sound choice if you're looking for a big dinner after a day in the park . It was nice to look this place up and see they are open late - until 11pm on a Wednesday. We arrived around 8. Parking was easy, the restaurant was not busy and we were seated immediately . Unfortunately they chose to put us six adults in a booth. Although their booths are a little bit bigger than normal, they certainly only can seat four adult people comfortably . It appears that they set a lot of those booths for six place seatings which seems ridiculous to me unless you mix a few little kids in there. It looked like there were other seating options, as the restaurant was pretty empty but I was too tired to complain. We were seated elbow to elbow, which made it very hard to enjoy a heavy three course meal. The ambience presents as a nice restaurant but from this experience, I found that the sardine seating and quality of the pasta dishes was mediocre. I like that they also offered soup or salad and a dessert with each meal. Once my spaghetti arrived, i asked for fresh parm and was told that there was none available. I thought this place was called the old spaghetti factory meaning they specialize in pasta. Fresh Parmesan is just a luxury that isn't offered here. They did have the dry stuff on the table, just like a pizza place would. I liked my dinner just fine. I ordered a spaghetti dinner with a meatball and sausage. It came out with a whole sausage not even cut up. It tasted fine. It was a lot of food for one person. My husband ordered the mushroom ravioli, and loved it . My teens seemed happy with their dinners but my 16-year-old son with a giant appetite couldn't finish half of his meal because he wasn't a fan of the fettuccine Alfredo. I have to say the highlight that I remembered from the entire meal was that the minestrone soup was exceptionally good . I realized after everything arrived that a lot of these pasta entrees are big enough to share. In the end we were so stuffed, not all of us could even have the ice cream that was included. The two entree chicken Caesar salads and the side order of meatballs we're not so good. The salads were merely a small handful of Romain lettuce and a cooked chicken breast. No croutons and no parmesan sprinkled over the top. And the amount of lettuce provided would barely accommodate a side salad at most restaurants. Definitely not what you would expect for a salad costing over $22. The meatballs were okay, but there was very little marinara sauce included, only a thin film at the bottom of the container, making them fairly dry. I'm guessing there's no way they would attempt to serve these items in the restaurant as we received them for delivery. They really did phone it in on these items. Honestly, it would be embarrassing for them if they brought these items out to your table like this at the restaurant. So why do that on delivery or to-go orders. read more

I've been wanting to try this chain restaurant for awhile now, and it was exactly what I was expecting. When we walked into the building, I was genuinely in awe of the aesthetic and vibes. The restaurant was buzzing with energy and conversations from all kinds of people who were not hyperfixated on their phones, which was refreshing to witness, and it says something about the comfort of the environment. My date got a cotton candy drink that is known to be for kids, but he ordered it anyway and found out why it was mainly for kids (hint: It was too sweet), and I got the mango margarita. The margarita was quite strong, which is how I enjoy my drinks, and we received complimentary sourdough bread and butter on a wooden platter. The bread was fresh and warm, which made the wait to order our entrees worth it. I ordered a fettuccine alfredo that was super creamy and hot. Like most foods, I had to take it to go because the food was abundant. Based on the pricing, the portions were worth it.
