I met up with a friend for dinner the other day. I've never been a fan of islands so it has been years since I last visited. Nice to see the menu has a variety of foods for everyone to enjoy. Burgers. Sandwiches. Tacos and new beach bowls. We got appetizer wings to start. Half bbq and half buffalo. Nothing special. Beach bowl-beautifully present and was very good per my friend. Shorebird- huge grilled chicken piece on wheat. Side of veggies. Surprisingly good. They were out of chocolate lava so we opted for the Kona pie. I came here for dinner with my family. The host was very nice and seated us promptly, and everything started off well. However, the service declined as our meal went on. We finished our drinks early on and were never offered refills. After we were done eating, we asked for the check, to-go boxes, and a water to go. Unfortunately, our waitress disappeared, and we ended up waiting about 30-35 minutes just to receive the check. During that time, we noticed she was assisting other tables, which made it feel like we were being overlooked. I remained patient and respectful the entire time, as we were simply trying to enjoy dinner and head home afterward. I understand that everyone can have off days, but the delay at the end of our visit was disappointing and ultimately affected the overall experience. I visited recently and ordered the happy hour beachside sliders for my kids, specifically requesting no ketchup and onions on the side. Our server, Maddie, seemed to understand, but the sliders arrived with everything. Because my children are young and were hungry, I didn't have time to wait for a remake due to the restaurant's mistake. I had to scrape off the toppings myself just so they could eat. When I let Maddie know of the error, her response was a dismissive, "What would you like me to do for you?" rather than an immediate apology or offer to make it right. Then, after I let her know about the mistake, her demeanor became noticeably different, she was not as friendly. I ended up ordering a second round (which came out correctly), but I was charged for both. While it's only a $7 item, it's the principle of the matter. The food is pretty yummy, but quality customer service matters more. This location's poor service and a lack of accountability mean I won't be returning here. read more

My Boyfriend has never been to an Islands, we dont have one remotely close to where we lived but he always wondered where I came up with teriyaki chicken tacos at home and Islands has always been that for me, because I couldn't get them after I moved I had to make something similar. So we stopped in for dinner. I of course ordered the Yaki tacos, my boyfriend went with the Toucan sandwich and we got a happy hour order of cheese fries. Islands are all about the same. This location is easy access but the parking can sometime be really tight. The grounds are well kept lots of neat trees and plants. The inside is always clean lots of TVs to look at sports. The service is fairly good here, but sometimes it feels like it could be better. My husband and I came here to enjoy a lunch date on Sunday morning. Upon arrival, we were greeted and brought to a window booth right away. Our host Sierra was doing double duty as she was also our server. Throughout the entire meal, she gracefully transitioned back and forth from the front of the restaurant to serving guests. She always had a smile on her face and even memorized some of the regular patrons' orders. She was quick and provided us a set of new drinks as she saw we were finishing up our first glass. Sierra continued to check up on us, asking if we needed anything else. We ordered the Tiki Tenders as an appetizer which were so good, the right amount of crunch and paired well with ranch. It was a basic hamburger with cheese and all the veggies and a basket of fries, too! This is a better deal than you can get at some fast food restaurants! We came on our bulky electric scooters, and the staff was kind enough to store them safely by their station while we ate--really appreciated that. I don't know what it is about Sundays, but my family and I always crave some good ole cheeseburgers and Islands is where we always go to get them! There is never a long wait which is helpful with kids, and the service is always great. We have had Amanda a few times and she is amazing. She is the person you want when you have kids. She easily unlocks them and is very personal and energetic. She brings us our refills and side dips before we even ask for extras. Yallll I was not expecting the flavor in the food here. First time coming and thought it would be like any other burger face where the food is okay with a plain patty but sauce would make up for it. Not here! The meat patty actually has flavor! I know I know, where have I been eating? At the worst places! Lol Tortilla soup was delicious! I got the small bowl for $7-$8 and filled me up. When he finally did. My salad came and it was wrong. They remade it. I asked for more dressing and BBQUE sauce. I got one dressing and no more BBQUE sauce. The place was dirty. Trash all over the floor food pieces everywhere. It was terrible. Not that this matters but my wife has a service dog. German shepherd that lies under the table when we eat. I came here for a late afternoon lunch with my boyfriend as I was craving Islands and this is our go-to Islands spot. We were seated at a booth right away. There was a person at the booth next to us with a laptop and lots of papers just sitting by themselves. My boyfriend said that they probably worked for Island's corporate, which was why our waiter was doing the most. Our waiter was super friendly though, and service was super fast. We had mostly no issues. I just ordered a green iced tea to drink and the Toucan sandwich with added Island Reds and a side of fries with ranch. My boyfriend got a lemonade to drink and a burger. I didn't realize my tea was sweetened until I got it. I'll make a note of it when asking next time for unsweetened. It was still a good tea though. Our food came out pretty quickly. Came here for dinner after we went to the 17th door. Haven't been here in a while. I noticed they took off my chili cheeseburger. I was kind of sad so I didn't really know what to order tonight but the surface was really friendly. They were sort of busy today. Ordered the Spinach and Artichoke dip for appetizer, this drink I ordered was called Cool breeze drink, which was like slushy smoothie milkshake sort of thing it was pretty good coconut and strawberry and banana. Out kids ordered root beer floats lol chicken tenders and fries. We ordered salad, burgers as well but didn't get photos of everything but it was really delicious. All the food was really good. Zero stars if that was an option. Ordered the sliders with a side of fries. The bottom bread was super soggy, the patty super thin. I dont like McDonalds, but their patties are thicker. The fries were old and reheated. Asked for new fries, I think they topped the basket off and heated them again. Horrible. Dry. Asked for the check, we told the server the fries were still not good. I used to love this place but after my visit on Saturday I don't plan to return for a while. 1st super overpriced: Just about $20 for a hamburger. So going as a family of 4 very expensive. Even more expensive when you order a $4 coke and the waitress never refills your soda 2nd tiny portions: the waitress even told us the manager was in the back watching the portion sizes. I counted about 20 French fries. When I'm spending $20 on a burger and fries I'd expect a decent amount of French fries. Kids meal sizes are pathetic. The side of pineapple was about a spoonful 3rd false advertising: they have signs all over saying $10 bowls. However, the ones on the menu are actually $17 - not to mention the bowl is super small. Sad how far this place has gone. I can totally see why places like the Habit and 5 Guys are eating into their market share. I love burgers. I had always been intrigued about Islands, but haven't had the chance to try it until recently. It was very fun inside - I loved the Hawaii theming. Service was also good. The favorite things were the drinks. I loved my Mango Passionfruit Agua Fresca. Unfortunately, everything else was kinda lackluster for me. The cheddar cheese fries were good, but kinda one note. They were essentially just melted cheese on fries (very good fries though). I wish there were more scallions... I feel like they barely made an impact on the taste. It felt like a bit of a waste ordering this dish since you basically get fries for free with your burger. Speaking of burgers, I thought they were ok. Since we were in an "aloha" ambiance, I decided to get the Teriyaki burger to totally hang ten. It was fine; I don't really have much to say about it. Your typical teriyaki burger. I was told my server was going to come however it took him 5 minutes to even acknowledge me as he walked slowly passed me. When he finally came he took my order. Protein wrap burger extra pickles no cheese. Sweet potatoes fries and water no ice with lemon. I waited for another 8-10 min he came with my meal. I was given my water in a plastic mug that was cracked. No lemon. He had a small dish of them but was for the people drinking across from me. I asked for another mug he came back with another cracked mug. I waited to send it back and began eating the burger was dry and very thin like a mc Donald's pattie. No blood dripped from the burger as I ordered mine medium. I needed a drink fast I was having a hard time swallowing my food I had to get up and ask someone to give me water. He then came with another cracked mug. I asked why they are broken he said wear and tear. I asked for a glass going forward. I told him that cracked mugs cause illness as they have been compromised and the chemicals leak into the plastic. Will cause harm to the human body and system he shrugged it off and went on to the next person. The sweet potatoes fries were the only good thing. For the price I paid I am very disatified, low budget meat scraps to produce as. A top end burger I paid 14 bucks for it. Management I ask you to please have the men wear their hair back just like the woman. My server had long curly hair and got into my food. Please provide training for the waiters my server only can carry a mug and small dish of lemons.
