10/10 -- Absolutely Flawless Service! This was our first time at Buca di Beppo, and I honestly walked out speechless at the level of customer service we received. I came in with my mom and sister, and Alvetta was absolutely incredible -- truly one of the best servers I have ever had anywhere. From the moment we arrived, she made us feel welcomed and genuinely taken care of. Her attention to detail, attitude, professionalism, and hospitality were all 10 out of 10. I also want to recognize Danny, the Front of House Manager. WOW. Between Danny and Alvetta, you can see what great leadership and teamwork look like. They represent Buca di Beppo exactly the way any company would want its brand represented. Coming from a JD Power Associates background and experience with customer service data, I pay close attention to the customer experience, and I don't give praise like this lightly. These two deserve recognition -- and honestly, a raise! This was flawless customer service from beginning to end. And to top it all off, the food was delicious! 45 dollars for a Cesar Salad, all plates averaging 50 bucks....get ready to pay big money for average Italian food. I went to Buca Brea for my birthday along with 13 others from my family and the service was mediocre for the price we were paying. I've been to high end restaurants where the food quality matches the price and service and this buca fell short. We got there and we were the only ones in our area attended by one server who seemed rushed so he kept asking "are you guys ready to order" like three times. It takes a while to go through the menu and decide because the prices are insane! With 4 plates and a salad we ended up paying 345 dollars...do the math! This will be the last time we come because my wife and I were regulars but now, it's just a past time. So we paid that much and we were sat in tables covered with plastic picnic style cloths but underneath was the story...LIFETIME PLASTIC TABLES and rotted wooden tables. For that price, we should be sitting on golden chairs haha Overall I gave it a three because it wasn't terrible but then again the service did not match the price better off going to Olive Garden and that place is crap! Our waiter was Jesse he was awsome so kind so helpful and super nice. the manager was great too. Marie had the stuffed shells I had the spaghetti with meat sauce. We ordered the garlic cheese bread as well. We both drank Cherry Pepsi. I liked the decoration inside from pictures to wine bottles on the ceiling very nice. My two kids and I wanted to have lunch at a place we have t been to in a while, so I chose Buca di Beppo. Before deciding to dine here, I looked at the menu online. The lunch specials for one caught my eye. I made a reservation on Open Table for 12:15 PM. We did arrive about 20 minutes early and the manager greeted us. She was upfront with let us know that it'll be about a five minute wait since there was only one server at that time. I really appreciated her honesty. We were seated in a booth behind another party and Aldo was our server. All I can say is he did a FANTASTIC job especially being the only server available. He also informed us that he was the bartender too in case we wanted to order drinks. He did everything with a positive attitude and a huge smile on his face. Great job, Aldo! I was very impressed by your professionalism and friendliness! The three of us ordered the $10.99 lunch special which came with two pieces of garlic bread, a small Cesar salad and a single portion of pasta. We unexpectedly dined here the other night because the restaurant we wanted had a 90-minute wait. So we just walked around, saw a familiar named restaurant, and thought, "what the heck." What the heck indeed. The food was not good at all, which is surprising. I've eaten here in the past and thought they were pretty decent. I hear that the chain has a new owner now so that may explain some things. They have a $40 dinner special that includes Caesar's Salad, Garlic Bread, and Lasagna. Sounds like a great deal, but sad to say, my only favorite part of this trio is the salad. Although the garlic bread was crispy, it tasted like it wasn't baked all the way through. The lasagna came out looking messy, tasted kinda sour and just wasn't cooked right or something. Overall disappointing experience. Great food and amazing service! Our server, Vetta, made my husband's birthday a very special one for sure! We were a party of 7 and ordered 3 of the Buca Bundles- what a great deal and so delicious. But the best part was how Vetta put a birthday card out for all of us to sign as a place card for my husband's spot, kept our cake in the fridge until it was time to sing and did such a great presentation of birthday candles and a special song for his day! Came in last night with some family, a party of 5. The ambiance was great, I love all the stuff all over the walls and ceilings. Since they serve food family style, we ordered fried mozzarella, large chicken lemón, antipasto salad, and lasagna. TLDR: great food, poor service, and not good for celebrations. Just order takeout/delivery. My parents are visiting town for the holidays from abroad and it was their wedding anniversary. They said they wanted Italian food and my bf and I decided to bring them here since they had never tried it and we were a big enough party to enjoy multiple dishes. My bf thought ahead and decided to make a reservation for Saturday night 7pm and added in the notes that it was their anniversary. They are conveniently located off the 57 on imperial hwy with limited parking on the front but plenty in the back. They have a very unique style with it being family oriented and older era feel. When we checked in, the host confirmed that we were celebrating an anniversary. We waited about 5 mins after checking in for us to be seated. Our waitress was friendly and walked us to our table where she confirmed whose anniversary it was. Their dishes are large and family oriented for sharing. We saw that they have a $40 special that includes salad, garlic bread and a pasta dish (2 options). So we went for this with a caesar salad, meat sauce spaghetti and we added an order of meatballs and prosciutto wrapped chicken. We brought our own wine and had the corkage fee. Our waitress brought our wine glasses promptly and opened the bottle. One of our glasses had lipstick stains and she kindly changed it for us. We also asked for waters for the table. The food came out at a reasonable time starting with their complimentary bread which was fresh and warm, followed by their tray of garlic bread which was also fresh and it is made with real garlic as you can still see the pieces. The caesar salad was crunchy and fresh. It was a large portion enough for the 5 of us. The spaghetti was perfectly cooked and the sauce was delicious and plenty, but even better with their delicious giant meatballs! The meatballs are huge so we were cutting portions of them. The best dish of the night was the prosciutto wrapped chicken, it was similar to a chicken parmigiana with prosciutto in the middle and a delicious green sauce. The chicken was really juicy and tasty. Needless to say, the food was excellent! The service on the other hand wasn't great. We had to ask for the water multiple times and finally got them after we were already enjoying our entrees. Once we were done, we asked for boxes to go for the little bit of left overs we had. I was expecting a dessert menu for them as they LOVE tiramisu, but our waitress asked us if we were ready for the check instead. I was extremely disappointed that at no point did they get a "happy anniversary " by anyone. All this being said, I would highly recommend to go anywhere else if you are celebrating anything. read more

Do NOT recommend this place at all. Service was absolutely horrible. The bar tender ended up being our waitress. Bar is in the front of the restaurant. We were in the back. As a manager I don't know how he would think that is doable. Took forever just to get our drinks. I ended up having to go to the bar just to get our first round. While waiting for someone to serve us, there was another two servers there that just looked at us and said nothing. Never offered to help or at least say I'll get your server. My daughter ordered a shrimp appetizer that was completely cold. My wife and I ordered the stuffed shells which cost $57 dollars. Had to scrape the bottom of the plate just to put some damn sauce on it. Kiddos wanted dessert which reluctantly my wife did not want to do, due to the long wait time for drinks and such. Took about 30-40 minutes just to get two orders of dessert. Not a big tasker. Just two orders of cannoli. Save yourself the disappointment and not go here.
