Got the Happy Hour Bottle & Board $ 45 7.27.26
    Mimi J.

Review 79/365 Day Challenge. Came here on a Monday for Happy Hour around 5:30 p.m. Was meeting w 2 of my other childhood friend. It's my 1st time @ North Italia. My Friend wanted to take mee here to celebrate my bday month. Right when I walked in, was helped within 2nd's. The hostess ask how many people and if it was ok to dine out in the Patio, told her that's actually perfect, wanting outdoor seating as long as we may get the high bar table seatings. I was approached by our server for the evening, Jacob. Really friendly informative young guy. Told him my girlfriends should be here in the next 10 mins. They are currently almost here. *Jacob helps us for the entire visit here and he definitely made our evening really enjoyable. He kept checking in on us, seeing if we needed refills and if we needed anything more. Really like his attentiveness and awareness. 5 stars service indeed. What we ordered ~ Got the Happy Hour Bottle & Board $ 45 ~ Smoked Salmon Avocado toast is really good. Loved the smoked Salmon, topped w arugula on top of the toast. They offer complimentary Birthday dessert of your choice for the Bday Guest/Celebrant. The restaurant is really clean, modern, high ceiling with an open welcoming vibe. The restaurant was pretty busy during my visit but it didn't feel over crowded at all. The citrus tree art and wall decor with nice portraits was a nice touch to the ambiance. They have parking out front of the restaurant but a bit hard to get. Plenty of parking in the parking structure in front of Nordstroms.

I was pleasantly surprised when I heard that North Italia was coming to the Brea Mall. The food and the service I would say was comparable to the location in Irvine, the overall restaurant itself is a bit smaller, however, I think that they have a better patio layout than the one in Irvine. It's located in the new wing of the Brea mall that has the outdoor area where folks can hang out and just relax, and they do have valet parking, which I think is a huge plus given how difficult the parking is. I will note that Din Tai Fung is also in this area and it has yet to open but once it does, I just know that the traffic is gonna become insane. Overall, a great addition to the Brea, fullerton, Yorba Linda area and it's nice to see that people are enjoying it. I visited on a Friday evening, the place was packed, and many of the folks dining were dressed up as opposed to in casual wear.

Yum! Nice place for italian cuisine. The white truffle garlic bread was very good. It wasnt too salty but was still very flavorful and yummy. It's a nice way to mop up any leftover sauce from your pasta dish haha. The bread was soft and fluffy, and the buttery garlic flavor was just right. The strozzapreti pasta was good! Even though it's a white sauce pasta, it wasnt too heavy. I think the flavors in this one were good. The spicy rigatoni vodka pasta was very good as well. It had just a small amount of heat that cut through the heavier flavors from the italian sausage in this dish. Overall was just a good dish. The mussels were okay. Some of mine were a little sandy, which was not the most fun experience. But I did love the wine sauce that came with it though. Dipping the bread in that buttery sauce was nice. The ciao bella cocktail had some sweetness to it and was more of a cute drink. i almost wish i got it on the rocks though. I loved the sole toscano cocktail as well, very refreshing. I feel like this place has a more casual ambiance to it. It definitely is a nice place to go to for some nice italian cuisine. Our server was very nice to us! Also was very attentive, which i appreciated a lot. Really elevated our dining experience.

Pretty restaurant located in the outside section of the Brea Mall. Our waitress was friendly and didn't rush us while we were waiting for one person. I got the pizza called the pig and it was really good. I shared my pizza with the table. I wish they had smaller potion sizes as everything was very calorie heavy, however, I also got the hazelnut torta because I couldn't help myself. Definitely recommend.

We started off with the focaccia and a grilled artichoke. Delish! The lemon aioli was super tasty, our server Courtney was extremely nice and quick to get our refills and answer questions. The only issue for us was that dinner for 4 on a weekday night was 200 without any alcohol. So moving forward this would be more of a special occasion place.

This North Italia location is amazing, and just as good as the other locations I've been to in terms of service and food. This is located in a somewhat newly developed part of Brea Mall. The best parking for this is at the structure near Nordstrom, and then it is a very short walk across the street to North Italia and a bunch of other restaurants. The service here was incredible! I sadly forgot the name of our waitress, but she was great and provided quick and friendly service. The host and hostesses that greeted us were great as well. I made a reservation by calling them for a large party 8, and they were great on the phone to accommodate and schedule my reservation. The food was amazing. I've been to other North Italia locations, and the food at this one is just as amazing. I highly recommend the fig and prosciutto pizza - it is the perfect mix of sweet and savory and is just a great and unique flavor. We also ordered the spicy vodka rigatoni which is probably my favorite pasta dish they have. Other food highlights were the garlic bread and the eggplant parm. I think if anything looks good to you on the menu, it will probably taste good, as I feel North Italia is a very high quality and consistent restaurant. Overall, I am so happy that a location opened up in Brea, and I can see myself coming here very often.

Great to see a new Italian spot open right outside the Brea Mall! The closest parking is the Nordstrom parking structure. We visited North Italia on a Sunday afternoon with a party of six and had made reservations about a week in advance. Our party was seated within two minutes of checking in with the host. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. We ordered the *White Truffle Garlic Bread* ($18.50), *Spicy Rigatoni Vodka* ($27.50), Strozzapreti ($26.50), *Hot Honey & Smoked Prosciutto Pizza* ($25), The Pig Pizza ($25), Seasonal Butter Cake ($14), and the Brookie Sundae ($14). Our table favorites are marked with an asterisk (*). The food was flavorful, but the portions were on the smaller side for the price. That said, it does have more of an upscale Italian dining feel, so the pricing wasn't too surprising. The desserts were just okay. The Seasonal Butter Cake was a little too sweet for our taste, and while the Brookie Sundae wasn't particularly memorable, it was served in a fun presentation - a drinking glass with the toppings on the side so everyone could assemble their own sundae. It's a nice touch, especially for kids. We also noticed the restaurant provides drawing pads for children. We had brought our own, but the table behind us received drawing pads from their server, who collected them at the end of the meal. It's a thoughtful detail that families will appreciate.

I love North Italia, so I was excited to see this location open up near me! The restaurant itself is spacious, and the atmosphere is nice with great service throughout our meal. We ordered the Spicy Rigatoni Vodka, which was delicious. One thing I always appreciate about North Italia is that their pasta is consistently cooked to perfection. We also tried the chef's special chicken pesto dish, which was equally tasty. We also had the branzino and the prime New York steak. Both were good, but I'm not sure if I would order either of them again on a future visit. Overall, this was another solid experience at North Italia. I'd definitely come back for the pasta and to try more dishes from the menu.

What can I say about North Italia? Probably not enough. I've been here twice now and with Life Time Brea opening up across the street, I know this is a dangerous move. I am creature of habit, so I have to suggest the spicy rigatoni vodka. I get mine with an extra scoop of ricotta for added creaminess, thanks to our server, Jojo, who suggested it at the time. 10/10, so good and filling. I came back with my mom for breakfast and while there was a miss with her order, the manager came out and offered to fix but my mom ate it. Still, the level of attentiveness and listening to my mom really cemented the interaction for me because my mom just wanted to point out the difference in what she ordered and was going to eat it anyway but thank you for listening. As someone in customer service, it meant a lot to have someone just listen and not try to explain things away. My mom got the Bistro Steak and Eggs and we all shared a banana coffee cake which is one of the highlights for us during that brunch! I cannot wait to come back again, everything so far has been delicious and the servers are awesome.

Had dinner at North Italia at Brea Mall and left really happy with the whole experience. The space has a great vibe, modern and clean but still cozy, so it works whether you're out for a casual dinner or something a bit more special. Our server was attentive without being overbearing and made sure everything came out at a good pace throughout the meal. We ordered the Vodka Pasta and the Margarita Pizza, and both were excellent. The pasta had a rich, creamy sauce with just the right touch of tang, and it was cooked perfectly. The pizza was simple but done really well, fresh mozzarella, a crust with good char, and a sauce that let the other flavors shine instead of overpowering them. Portions felt generous for the price, especially considering it's mall dining, and the quality made it feel worth every penny. Overall a great meal from start to finish, and I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu. If you're at Brea Mall and want something better than typical food court options, this is the move.

This was my first time trying a north Italia, but my bf had spoken highly of it. We were excited that it was opening in Brea mall and my bf decided to make reservations. I know that parking has been a big issue at Brea mall since construction started so we decided to show up 1 hr early. We were planning on doing valet but they were full and we were forced to look for parking. The parking structure was completely collapsed with standstill traffic. We couldn't go up and we couldn't keep going straight. We were just stuck so I decided to keep driving just to get out of that. As we were stuck, I saw somebody leaving right in front of us and I decided to do whatever everybody had been doing. I stopped and waited. By that time, I had been waiting in the parking lot for half an hour already. The person leaving, decided to take a long time to leave as they even changed a baby's diaper in the backseat. Overall, we made a two hour reservation with two minutes to spare. They had a line to check in and then they were telling you they were going to call you shortly. Because of how long we had already waited to park and how many people were trying to be seated I asked how long it was going to take since I didn't want to wait a long time. They told me it would only be a couple of minutes and that ended up being true. I did find it funny that because the reservation was under my boyfriend's name and he's white the lady looking for the party was not asking me since my white boyfriend had gone to the restroom. After asking everybody around, she asked me hesitantly, and I said yes. The staff was very accommodating. We were initially sat on a table next to a family with young kids and a baby. After how stressful it had been to park, I did not want to deal with kids since I am not a kid person. I asked the waitress if we could be moved to a different table and I pointed a smaller empty table. She checked with the hostess and was able to move us. At that point, I thanked her and told her the reason why. This is a family friendly restaurant with a big open space, so the acoustics can be a little bit on the loud side. They have outdoor sitting in indoor sitting. Their kitchen has glass so you're able to see them preparing the food if you're on the tables in front of it they also have a bar area which is first come first serve seating. You are able to bring your own wine for a $25 corkage fee which we did. We could not visit here without trying their truffle bread. The bread was freshly made and delicious. For our main dish, I decided to order the Bolognese and he went for the spicy vodka rigatoni. The Bolognese sauce was really good and the pasta was perfectly cooked. His spicy rigatoni definitely had a kick of spicy, but it was good. We also decided to add the focaccia with the sauces. I highly recommend the focaccia it was delicious and fresh. The sauces appeared really well with it and they were very distinct to each other. I could not leave without having dessert. We decided to have the caramel budinno that had bananas and it was delicious. This was a seasonal dessert and it was soft and creamy and the caramel wasn't overwhelmingly sweet. I didn't finish my meal since we ordered too much so we asked for a box for takeout. They were really kind to box it for us and gave us a ticket to pick up our food on our way out. Overall, I really enjoyed their food and it changed my mood from this stressful parking situation. I will definitely come back but might just Uber.

I saw the North Italia sign up come up a few months ago at the Brea mall and was very excited because North Italia is one of my favorite quick Italian place. I was at the mall on a recent Saturday and realized it was finally open. It was a little past lunch so the hostess quoted me 15 minutes which was fine as I had a return to do. I also think that the wait could be super long so I would suggest making a reservation or putting your name down as soon as you get there for peak time. I got seated in a booth in the back. The restaurant was pretty spacious and looked like the other North Italia's I have been to. Although it was past lunch time, it was still pretty packed so the service was little slow, but I didn't mind too much since I wasn't in a hurry. I ordered my 2 favorites (little gem salad and bolognese) and a pizza (the Pig). The salad was great, it was flavored decently and I love the way they have the salad and dressing put together. The reason why I gave this North Italia a 2 star is that the pizza tastes soapy. I think it's because they didn't finish cleaning the pizza pan so the soapiness carried over to the pizza. Then the bolognese pasta was totally undercooked. I ended up eating the pizza, but had to send back the bolognese. Our waitress was super nice and accommodating. She asked if we wanted another one or a dessert, but by this time, it had been quite awhile since we sat down, so we passed. She also offered to take out the bolognese, which we opted to do. (The takeout bolognese although was cooked was a reverse and very overcooked). I think this location is still trying to work out some of the kinks. I will still be back but hopefully will have a better food experience next time.

I could have swore I wrote a review when we started going here last year, but I guess I never did…read more As we started exploring steak options in the OC, Griffin's came up so we decided to give it a try given the high rating and numerous reviews here on yelp. Yelp definitely did not let us down! So we've been to Griffins a handful of times over the last yearish and while their menu is petite and nearly unchanged, we still usually get the same things. The most recent visit, we ordered our usual: 20 oz ribeye medium rare, patatas bravas, and crispy brussel sprouts. For the ribeye, I will say this time around compared to the other times we've been here, it was quite lacking. The ribeye was less flavored than usual and I feel like we either got an like an older piece of ribeye or maybe a poor cut off the ribeye because it was quite chewy and a bit tough in some places and not really tender. It was cooked perfectly medium rare, but it was just too chewy and it was not it's usual. I hope this is just a one off thing and that the next time we come back it's the usual delicious and tender one piece of ribeye. The patatas bravas were delicious, crispy, well displayed, and in two different sauces (forgot the name lol) and very tasty. The other highlight is their crispy brussel sprouts. We try and order this at any restaurant; however, most do not do it as perfect as Griffins. It is super crispy, but not charred, very flavorful but not overpowering for a side dish/appetizer, and most importantly, it's not greased up like so many other places. The restaurant is located in that downtown Brea and has plenty of seating but always do reservations regardless. The environment is more dark, relaxing, and a great date spot. Parking is no issue as there is parking in the back (which I believe is valet) but there is a parking structure across the street. Pricing is as expected when compared to other restaurants of similar caliber. Griffins has a very large alcohol drink section, but the ladyfriend and I prefer our non alcohol drinks and I can never say no to Dr. Pepper. Aside from this off night ribeye we had, highly recommended if you are looking for a steak restaurant in this year. Their brussel sprouts will never let you down either!

Came for a girls lunch date earlier to this weekend and this spot did not disappoint!…read more THE SERVICE: 5/5 - Quick, friendly, accommodating, and our waiter made a real effort to engage in conversation with us. The FOOD: 4.5/5 | Drinks: 5/5 Off the appetizers, we had the pork belly bites and dirty fries! First dish came with a long hot pepper, several mini tortillas, and 2 dipping sauces. The pork was crunchy on the outside and soft+succulent on the inside. I can see myself doubling up on this appetizer the next time I come. Dirty fries were great; it came with a generous amount of pickled onions - providing a really nice contrast to the savoriness of our meal. Our waiter graciously accommodated our request to have the egg on the side. Off the entrée/taco menu, my friend ordered the Korean tacos and I got the Ensenada (fish) tacos. But you can also order the Ensenada tacos with shrimp. These were delicious, I would have loved a little more lime crema to go with the fish - but not a big deal. I got a Watermelon Margarita. I wasn't expecting it to be HUGE, but it was the perfect amount considering how much food we as a pair ordered. My friend ordered the La Toxica table side cocktail and one additional mango cocktail. Table side cocktail was a whole show and my friend really enjoyed it. We had a great lunch at Tempo Cantina. I can't wait to try more of their bar menu, maybe even at night when the restaurant is lively

It didn't taste as good and wasn't as juicy sadly. The sauces were still consistent but the pork belly itself was a bit lackluster from before Tinga taquitos- these used to be so juicy, the chicken inside was a bit dry and the tortilla itself was too thick. U def need to use the sauces they provide to offset the dryness Grilled Octopus- this dish was good, octopus was juicy but portion was a bit small for what it was. It also came with sweet potato fries Loaded fries- idk what I was expecting but these were just fries with buffalo chicken nuggets on top. Don't get me wrong this was decent and the buffalo chicken was tangy and juicy! Thirsty Thursday deals happen all day $7 margs and you know I had to get some. Mango was the sweetest, strawberry was not bad, guava was the best in balance of flavor in sweetness and alcohol. Overall not a bad experience but note if u haven't came here in a while, the food quality has changed sadly

The Short Rib chilaquiles are very tasty, and the flavors complemented each other so well. I would definitely get this again. It was a somewhat large plate so easily shareable between 2! I ordered the Mexican Mocha latte with oat milk, and it wasn't the most flavorful - it was a mild flavor. I liked it but wasn't my favorite. My mom ordered the steak & eggs, and she thought it was very filling and tasty. A little plain though but to be expected with a steak and eggs, she was expecting a thicker cut.

A couple other employees walked past us and didn't acknowledge us. We both work in a restaurant, she's a server and i'm a manager, you don't just leave a table sitting without saying something. I don't remember our servers name but he was nice. My friend ordered a vanilla latte and the crunch berry french toast. I order a watermelon margarita and the chilaquiles. She got her latte a few minutes after ordering, I didn't get my margarita for about 10-15 minutes. I got it the same time we got our food. When we were ordering the server asked if we wanted a couple of waters, we didn't get them until after we got our food. The chilaquiles were good. I love my food spicy and the flavor hit! The rice was pretty good. I wasn't a big fan of the beans, they weren't bad, but they weren't good. The watermelon margarita was okay, the flavor was nice but it didn't seem like there was much tequila. The french toast was good also. She really liked it, same with the potatoes! The latte she didn't really like, she said it just tasted plain.

The service here was also the cherry on the top. They have plenty of seating and a bar in the middle with TV's, I was watching the beginning playoff run of the Warriors there this year :( I ordered the flat iron steak which was cooked perfectly and pair well with spinach and a side of fries. The fries were good, I was just a bit confused if their were oily or they had truffle sauce on it. Calamari was also pretty good, I would get that again. The lighting was making all my food look really greasy on the black plates but overall it was a good meal. I would definitely come back to try more.

I came here last Thursday night hoping it's a good place to try. I've ordered Strawberry Margarita (cocktail), Fish and Chips, and Butter Cake. Fish and Chips was pretty good. Fish was nice and flakey which makes it delicious. Portion size of the fries was more than I expected. Pretty unusual for Fish and Chips or any other items that comes with fries. Strawberry Margarita.... Not bad... but I had better ones elsewhere though. Butter Cakes (includes ice cream).... Pretty good. It's freshly made. Great presentation. Very delicious. Service..... Good, but I feel they were a little slow. They should try to speed it up more. Heck, I work in hospitality... good service and efficiency are very crucial when it comes to sense of urgency. 4 stars.

It is very dim inside the environment, but the noise level was loud which was great for the group dinner i went for. The grilled oysters, center ribeye, Brussel sprouts, and creamed spinach was delicious! I would not get the charcuterie board or the gnocchi again just pricey for what it was. Now they have about ten choices for desserts but i loved the huge slice of carrot cake over the warm butter cake although that was good too. Overall the establishment was clean and the service was fast and everybody was friendly and professional. I will be coming back for sure.

Interesting little toasts they serve with it (used to blinis). Gave us a refill when we ran out. Porterhouse: huge! And cooked perfectly medium rare. Ribeye add lobster meat: the birthday girl wanted steak and lobster, so that's what she got! Cooked perfectly and she was very happy. Rack of lamb: sooooo good. Cooked medium rare. Great flavor. Came with a whole head of roasted garlic. SIDES: Gnocchi: Good flavor, big portion Broccolini: deliciously roasted Asparagus: very good with hollandaise Creamed corn: fantastic sweet creamy corn Butter cake: good portion! Wish it wasn't dusted with sugar crystals Carrot cake: massive slice. So yummy. Could have been a little more moist. Birthday dessert: chocolate mousse with coulis, I think (my mom didn't share lol!!!)--delicious, not too sweet. Bomb berry cocktail: red berry vodka, lemon, muddled raspberry. Too easy to drink lol. Also ordered the non-alcoholic version and it was really refreshing. Attentive and friendly service by all. Ambiance was so nice. Only wish they could have personalized the birthday celebration a little more by adding a name to the birthday dessert. It's so special to see your name and is an easy addition. Overall, would 100% go back. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience!

Some places sit in the back of your mind for years…read more I first came to Macallan Public House more than a decade ago on a date and always intended to return. Life happened, years passed, and somehow I never made it back. Fast forward to today: I was driving my Tesla, jokingly asked Grok to take me somewhere for a beer, and it pointed me right back here. Walking in felt like revisiting a place that had been quietly waiting in the background of my story. The centerpiece is still the incredible bar. Shelves stacked floor to ceiling with whiskey bottles, glowing green tile behind the taps, warm lighting, and enough character that you can spend half your time simply looking around. It's the kind of room that feels both energetic and comfortable at the same time. I grabbed a seat at the bar, watched a soccer match on the TVs, and ordered an Old Fashioned. It arrived exactly the way I hoped it would: large clear ice cube, generous orange peel, balanced and smooth without trying too hard. Just a well-made classic cocktail. What stood out most was the atmosphere. These days I'm much more likely to be exploring hiking trails, photographing wildflowers, or driving mountain roads than spending time in bars. Twelve years ago, places like this were a much more regular part of my life. Coming back reminded me why I enjoyed them in the first place. Good conversation, a comfortable seat, a quality drink, and no rush to be anywhere else. The beer taps looked extensive, the whiskey selection seemed endless, and the entire place struck a balance between neighborhood pub and whiskey destination. Funny how a random AI navigation suggestion brought me back to a place I'd been meaning to revisit for over a decade. Glad it finally did. 5 stars.
